Love this family staple in southeast LA. My family has been coming here for years, and it's easy to see why. The owners are super humble and deeply supportive of the community, which makes me want to back them even more. My go‑tos are the *taco uyi yu yui* and the *tostada pirata (no fish)* always hits. The vibes are classic traditional Mexican mariscos, and honestly, you can never go wrong with that. read more

I was in the area and was hungry for Mexican Food. This restaurant came up, and here we are. The place is simple nothing fancy. If it weren't for the very loud music playing, I would not have known this was a Mexican restaurant. We ordered Fish and Shrimp Ceviche tostadas, but it was ok not the best I ever had. Tostadas had more Cucumbers and Tomatoes than Fish or Shrimp, and to make it worse, it was soaked in some kind of unidentifiable watery juice which made the hard Tostada soggy. What prompts M E Perihuete to soak a hard Tostada shell with water? unbelievable! The Chilaquiles were bad. They were so spicy I could not taste my food. Overall, the service was bad the lady who served us was busy laughing and giggling with the male customers instead of attending to her tables. I have to say the obvious about the waitresses here, to be as nice as I can put it, their lips stand out as plungers, the chest, and behind well, so obvious they were not normal... The service was bad and the food was not the best. Pricey. Plenty of parking. read more

Horrible waiting time, groups with a one person difference from our group goes in before us.

Looking for a place during this Lenten Friday and we came across this restaurant. This place is medium sized, the wait was minimal. They have a bar, TV's and a counter area too. We were greeted immediately. Very friendly staff. Not your standard starter of chips and salsa. A pleasant surprise when we received a small cup of warm broth with a shrimp, chips, lime, and salsa. This hit the spot as today was a chilly day. It's light, with a hint of lime and a tiny kick. The salsa seemed to be a simple standard tomato based salsa. I ordered a taco gobernador with shrimp. Not what I thought it would be like. It had melted cheese, but the shrimp was grounded. It was seasoned perfectly (tasted like chorizo) with a small side salad. The Torre Perhuete a tower of avocado on top of cooked shrimp, sautéed butterflied shrimp, sliced red onion, sliced cucumber, diced mango and fresh tuna on a plate of Clamato and Worcestershire sauce and more mango. It was a very good portion, it had flavor throughout, not too salty and the fruit balanced the Clamato. I will say the tuna could have used some seasoning but over all it was good. We also tried the Mojarra Frita-this dish came with a side of beans, rice, salad and tortillas. It was delicious, crispy skin, light flaky inside. My only critique is we needed more beans. They were delicious! This restaurant has something for everyone. Even if you're not into seafood, you can get a quesadilla with fries, chilaquiles, or chille relleno, among other dishes. We had a Mexican Sangria, standard in a bottle and an horchata. The horchata was a bit too sweet. Over all it was a satisfying meal. A must try. read more

Good Mexican sushi and everything I tried here is delicious. Its always packed and thats a great sign that people love the food.

BAD SERVICE!! We sat at our table for about 15-mins before someone came to ask us for our drinks. Then we order our food and had to keep asking them for tostadas, lime for our food. I ordered a tostada de ceviche which had no flavor and I ask for a hot sauce and it never came. Maybe that would've made the ceviche taste better, but I'll never know that since I never got the hot sauce. I do not recommend this place. read more

I was there with a group of 13 people and Patricia Cabrales was our waitress. She was amazing! She was fast and always attentive to our needs! We have been going here for many many years. The service is getting worst each day but the quality of the food never changed... until now!! My favorite are the uy uy uy tacos but the cook should be ashamed that this tacos with this tortillas left his kitchen. It was a take out order and it ruined my dinner... 11/24/24- I wanted to update my review because the quality of the food has improved. Particularly the tacos shown. My husband and I decided to give it a second chance a few months ago and the tacos did not disappoint us. The empapelado was amazing as always. The tacos were as tasty as we remember from years ago. Thank you for getting your cooking together. read more

We bought aguachiles from this specific place and they literally just gave us shrimp with lime and tapatio sauce all over them to make them red. They should have told us that they didn't make red aguachiles there, but instead wanted to be greedy about it. Very disappointing place. read more

I used to come here once a week, the food was great, the service was great, even know the music sucks (reggaeton on a Mexican restaurant?) now the food is just like the music, it sucks, the portion of the food decreased while the price for the food increased. They just raise the prices on everything, its just to ridiculous expensive. When the cost of the food goes up, so the quality, here, the cost of the food when up while the quality imploded. I won't be coming here anymore. read more

One of the BEST locations for Mexican sushi. This is not on their main menu (you have to ask for the sushi menu). The sushi takes a while to come out (the servers do let you know beforehand), but the wait is WORTH IT. It's an explosion of flavors in your mouth. The right amount of crunch, the right amount of creaminess with the right amount of heat. Try their agua de limon mineral as a perfect pairing with your sushi read more

My initial assessment was off by 100 miles. When I first walked in, I assumed it would be a dingy slow service place with mediocre service and food. I couldn't be more wrong about that. The service was fast, the customer service was amazing - super friendly server, great quality food with tons of options. I started with a shrimp and octopus cocktail (two thumbs up) and then tried the Octopus Traviezo (so so). They have lots of sauce options on the table, so you can adjust the spice and seasoning level to your desired taste. Will definitely visit again, but I'll stay away from the traviezo and emphasize more on the cocktails and ceviches. read more

hello I thought this would be a delicious stop to go to. I have seen their restaurants on social media but it might be other locations. Let me tell you the waitress demeanor and attitude is not very friendly. We ordered two simple peach margaritas, to which she brings over two concoctions that look like the tajin and chamoy exploded in the cups. As soon as I saw it I told her I'm sorry I'm not drinking that. She said o no, I said no I ask for a regular margarita, she replied well that's our regular margarita. I said no thank you and may I get a margarita on the rocks. When I said that I looked at my husband and my sister caught her giving me an evil look. I am not getting intimidated so you got the wrong one. The ambiance is a bit too loud for my taste. The food comes out and the rice was bland the mojarra was a 5/10 the beans were watery and my sister's fish filet was not cooked properly. The margarita on the rocks came out and was only margarita mix and of course with the dreaded tajin rim covered cup. I usually get margaritas with a rim of sea salt. I'm now believing it's just the name that's selling. We asked for plain iced water and it took more than 5 minutes to get it to our table. Then since we were just done we decided to go to the front and pay. I got the check and saw the three margaritas on the check. I told the waitress I'm not paying for them because we returned them waitress then says ooooo yeah Carlos will help you with that and walks away does t even say anything else. Yes Carlos did take the drinks out. And thank goodness, because I was not going to pay 40 for 3 margaritas that were way below par. I inserted my card paid the remainder tab and gave zero f's and zero tip for the deplorable service given. And yes I wrote in receipt horrible customer service. I get it my little purchase won't hurt the restaurant if I don't go anymore. But my experience might help someone that might want to try this location. Don't let others try to intimidate you to make you pay for horrible food or service. You may look pretty but your attitude is so ugly at least tonight it was. read more

About this place, my 1st time there and last time. Let me tell you why !! the food was good! I ordered 2 cocktails and a grilled fish. Which I did like the most, very tasty. The service was lacking a bit but, there could be a few factors that could affect it. Which in most instances more customers, more orders do the trick . But where it made me uncomfortable was the ambiance!!! for other customers, it might be the greatest and what they are used to and also the reason they come back to this eatery. but for me the yelling crowd, loud music is not my sit down kind a place to enjoy a meal, enjoy a chat with your companion. In a place like this, you can't even enjoy thinking . So to each their own but not for me! So I'm not bitching about the food but just the ambiance I experienced the day I was there. Just my .02 cents!!! Enjoy!!!! read more
