Took my mom and brothers here to celebrate my moms birthday. I was very disappointed with the service at this restaurant. The waitresses were never around when I needed more tostadas or a to go box. When we managed to catch someone's attention, they never brought what we asked for. Yet we saw that another table was being attended to very nicely. I'm only giving this 2 stars because we actually did enjoy the food. But I think a restaurant's service will make or break my experience. I do not intend on going back. read more

I travel close to 2 hours just to eat here. Their food is always fresh and have a variety of options. The locations is pretty big and aways busy. They have alot of servers that can always help. Hands down, by far one of the best micheladas I've had. The food wasn't far back behind. We had the Mariscoco which is a small coconut stuffed with cooked shrimp, octopus, ceviche and shaved coconut fruit from the actual coconut. It was flavorful and filling. The cost of the coconut was a little on the high side. It was $17. It's definitely a try. We had the taco Uyy Yui which was flavorful. It was lathered with red sauce, shrimp, cheese and cream. It's not spicy as mentioned on the menu. We had the taco camarones endiablado which was lacking a bit of flavor (still flavorful) and not spicy at all. NOW that I have your attention. The quality is not the best . 3. They have non fish food options for kids BUT the food still tastes like fish . My child asked for the chicken nuggets and French fries and she didn't eat anything. 4. My grandmother ordered a "Cóctel "she specifically asked for no tomatoes and no cucumbers, when they brought her food it had tomatoes and cucumbers. Never fails to exceed my expectations as far as the food! The tacos "uyiyiu" are amazing! Highly recommend these bad boys to anyone who dares to challenge a fire in your mouth type of taco. The shrimp ceviche is another of my favorite dishes here as it is always fresh and well served. UPDATE: Again service has let me down, this time worst of all. Came in at nighttime to a nearly vacant dining room and it took nearly 20 minutes for our server to come by asking for drinks. After 30 minutes finally we had drinks in our table. Waitress made rude remarks in an indirect manor through our time here. I Just placed a phone order of 2 Marisco molcajetes with 2 tostadas Jaiva. Spent $56.00 a waste of money. The 2 molcajetes were terrible. They did not have any flavor they didn't add any sauce at all. There was only clear WATER with a minimum of salt and the sea food. I thought I reviewed this restaurant already but since I haven't I was waaaaay overdue. Been coming here for many, many years since maybe 2005. Always been such a huge fan of the food here whether you decide to dine in or order take out. Always still taste just as good, actually had one of those delivery services deliver an order to me and everything was well packed was not disappointed with the quality and serving of my order. I think I may have tried 70% of the menu. Looking for something cold I always get the tostada mixta, such a large portion served so 1 tostada is more than enough. I highly recommend the molcajete as well the juice is delicious. You can't go wrong with a simple tostada de ceviche & I personally always order it with the tostada aparte like this it doesn't get soggy quickly. They are always very generous with providing a basket with extra tostadas. They always start you off with a little 10oz cup of consome I tell you, it doesn't look like much but this is 1 of the perks we look forward too when visiting. The taco Ala Uy Yui Yui is bomb! Also taco de machaca (the meat is enough to make 2 tacos out of 1). My 2 favorite hot entrees are the Empapelado & The Camarones Costa Azul sooooo good. I like to pour the juice from the empapelado into the little place of rice they give you on the side. I have to say I do wish they would better the micheladas here. Those are my go to on the weekends but definitely not here =( The limonada con agua mineral (Lemonade with mineral water) is a def go to very refreshing.
