My family and I had visited this restaurant 3 times already and the first 2 times we had good experience. We even had the same waitress and we were shocked how well she memorized all our orders and how fast she was. The was place is nice and you can feel the culture and the welcoming! However, the 3rd time we visited we had a horrible experience. We arrived and everything was going ok. It was a different waiter that attended us this time and she took our order of drinks and brought them. A family member asked her for a cup of water without ice and she never brought. She came in and out the kitchen and attended every other table except ours. Finally we asked a second time and she brought it. We didn't like how the waiter never came to ask if we were ok or if we wanted something. Another family member had ordered soda and 2 waters later on and she never brought them again! We were a family of 10 and we would asked for some napkins and she only bring 5. We had to ask her for more. The worst part of our whole experience is the reason I am rating this a 2 star restaurant. It made us all furious. One of our family members ordered a Cameron Relleno. We noticed they were the only person without their plate. So we thought maybe its taking them a while or an accident happened that its lagging, but after waiting patiently for it. We asked the waiter and you can hear her barely putting the order in! Are you serious! The family member told her to cancel it because it was gonna take longer and we ordered a empty plate because we all gave that person a little bit of our food. Part of enjoying your food in a restaurant is the ambience of the place, but most importantly its the waiter. The waitress we got was just horrible. We even noticed another table having complications with her too. Mazatlán Restaurant in Long Beach is a hidden gem for Mexican seafood lovers! I came here on a friend's recommendation and was absolutely blown away by the flavors and authenticity. The Pescado Zarandeado was the star of the show -- a perfectly grilled 3-pound fish, packed with smoky, bold flavor. Easily one of the best I've had! The Micheladas were on point too -- ice cold, balanced, and "bomb" in every sense. I also tried the Marlin tacos, which were packed with flavor and came with delicious refried beans and their signature spicy sauces -- these really elevated every bite. To top it all off, their chiles rellenos enchiladas tasted just like something you'd find in a coastal town in Mexico -- super authentic and incredibly comforting. The service was warm, and the vibe is relaxed but vibrant -- perfect for a laid-back lunch or weekend dinner. Finally I truly found a seafood restaurant that knows how to make delicious dishes. The Marlin Tacos, Pescado Sarandeado, Ceviche, Maleficio, the Guacamole and the different sauces were all part of my greatest experience at a seafood restaurant. We ordered the molcajete meat,chicken, shrimp, cheese, and jalapeños. Plus tortillas, rice and beans man the flavor is terrific and I really enjoyed my meal. I also tired the menudo it was really good, very flavorful better then "El Infierno" restaurant on Long Beach Blvd. We will be coming back ! Note: they only take cash and prices aren't on the menu.
