Milanesa comes wuth 2 huge cutlets of perfectly breaded steak served with rice and beans and 3 tortillas, and garnished with Pico De Gallo and Lime. Milanesa were crunchy, tender and delicious. Portions were easily cut using the large steak knife placed underneath. Entrees come with Chips & Salsa.
Went here for father's day 2026. I usually go to their little Taqueria spot next door but since it is father's day, I wanted to treat myself out and have a nice sit down lunch in. Their Taqueria place is top notch so assuming the taste and the quality of food would be the same for their restaurant. I was greeted and wait time was 15 mins. Seated after and ordered Mexican sodas, water and adult beverages. All was very good. Chips and Salsa was served. This place is very gracious with their salsa! Not tight at all. Some places, they would just give you a tiny cup but this place is a complete opposite. For a party of 5, ordered our main entrees. Wet burritos, chilli rellenos, and assorted main dishes. Overall the quality of the food was superb. 90 percent of the food served was exceptional. The 10% is a different story. The chilli rellenos was not Mexican authentic. Who puts blue cheese inside a chilli rellenos. There is a hit and miss on their menu, this is definitely a miss on their restaurants. It tasted awful! Almost threw up. Two negatives that stood out. Chilli Rellenos and customer service. Our waitress will disappear for 10 to 15 minutes and we would have to constantly flag her down. I did not get her name, but she was young. She could of been alittle bit better to attentiveness. Overall I would come back. Depending what you order.. it is a hit and miss. Plenty of parking. Good location and nice ambiance. Friendly people.
When I tell you that the Bistec Tampiqueno (ribeye steak with a cheese enchilada) plate was the best I ever had, I tell you the truth! Lots of places will only offer skirt steak for this dish. Rarely, if ever do they go for a prime cut like ribeye! Then the chef hit the nail on the head preparing it "medium" exactly as I ordered it! The chips and salsa are delicious. The beans and rice, ooh! That seasoned rice! Both were perfection. The cheese enchilada was bubbling with flavor. I already want to go order the exact same meal again! My husband had the mango margarita and said it was very good too.
I'm honestly shocked I haven't reviewed this place yet because I've basically eaten my way through the entire menu at Enrique's. If you want big portions, legit authentic food, and prices that won't personally offend you--this is your spot. The pork shank? Fall-off-the-bone, no-effort-required kind of delicious. The tacos are (I do wish they had à la carte instead of plates, but honestly their rice and refried beans slap so I'll allow it). The ceviche is basically an entrée disguised as an appetizer, and the chicken arroz soup hits every time. They bring out chips and salsa immediately (as they should), service is quick, and there's plenty of parking--which already puts them ahead of half the restaurants in SoCal.
Nested in a shopping center near CSULB this Mexican restaurant is a good option for students. Came by after the kids soccer game on a Sunday afternoon, this place had every single table occupied. We were seated at the last available table in the back near the restroom. We were promptly served fresh chips and salsa, and asked for our drink order. We ordered the chicken rice and avocado which is a great option and size, the lomo adobado was a good portion, flavor not overpowering and the beans a bit bland. Their horchata water was flavorful.
Stopped by for a quick bite , right away I was seated and greeted with fresh chips and salsa ! I ordered a side of guac cane out quick and fresh . Ordered the pork shank it was amazing super fresh and tasted amazing ! The meat came right off the bone . Definitely coming back eventually was so good .

I opted for the carne asada plate - simple and not spicy. Hubby ordered the Carne en su Jugo- very spicy with tomatillo broth and serranos, cilantro, bacon and onions. Both of our entrees came with bean soup and tortillas. The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. He wished the broth had some rice, though, to accompany it. We could come back weekly to try many more entrees. Their salads sound tasty, too. Service was great.
Service was super quick, I took my food to go and it was ready in about 10 min. I ordered a shredded chicken burrito, was HUGE. Pretty filling. Lots and lots of cheese on top. Though filling, I thought the inside actually had TOO much shredded chicken. Overall was satisfied but would likely Go with something else next time.
We've been dining at Enrique's for many years...Just realized I never wrote a review. Love their chips and salsa that come complimentary with the meal. The salsa is tasty and flavorful. It's nice and chunky. My mother-in-law always wants her own cup of salsa with her chips. Hubby and I usually order cheese enchiladas. It's our favorite entree. Nice and cheesy and the sauce is so flavorful. The one thing I miss most since Covid, they no longer offer items ala carte. Most combo plates are more than I can eat in one sitting. Although leftovers are good....they are not the same as eating it freshly made. Service can be a hit or miss. Sometimes the servers are very friendly, other times not so much. I guess it's the luck of the draw. I definitely would recommend Enrique's for some authentic Mexican food. You won't be disappointed!
So I was in the "AREA" to meet friends. I was early. "Sandy" recognized the vehicle in on. Said they usually meet at the taco spot same owner. But that right there made me want to come to Enrique's. I am Not Disappointed. I never New Mexicans could steam veggies. But the meat, the veggies... all of it is SOOO GREAT! Sandy! U the one .
Food here is always delicious. Called in an order to go and timing was correct and food was hot, ready to go. Packaged well which we appreciated. Had our usual: 1) Milanese with white rice and refined beans and 2) Cheese enchilada plate with Mexican rice and refried beans. Also some guacamole, chips and salsa to round out the meal (I'd show you the food but ate too quickly).
Enrique's I'd very good but always feel like they are rushing us to eat and get out. Service is good but it just feels like they're trying to get us out of there
Delicious! I have never been to this location, but use to visit their old location all the time.. one of the things I love is the fresh chips and salsa!! So good.. and the chips were still warm! My sis and I ordered a shredded beef taco each, water, and just had chips, the bill was almost $18. Now, the taco did have a lot of meat on it, but it was small. That's the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars. Staff was friendly.. and we got our food quick!!

Okay, Enriques = 10/10. That habenero salsa is no joke! Their chille verde was so creamy and flavorful! The service was also top notch, they were quick to refill chips and beverages. The portions are huge and very delicious! It's also a nice place to spend a early lunch with friends and family with a nice ambience with latin tunes playing and fresh tortillas grilling nearby. read more

Enrique's Mexican Restaurant in Long Beach was a great find. There's plenty of parking in the lot, so parking wasn't an issue, and the service was good. I ordered the pork shank in green sauce. It's not listed on the menu, so be sure to ask about it. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and absolutely delicious. The portion was very generous--easily enough for two--and it came with rice and beans. They also started the meal with complimentary chips and fresh salsa. Come hungry if you order the pork shank! I would definitely get it again. read more

Finally made it to @kiquestaqueria so yummy. I arrived just before the rush it's a small place 4 tables inside 2 tables outside, I was lucky l got a table outside. Taco Tuesday all tacos are 1.95 which is a great deal l ordered 1 fish taco, 1 shrimp taco , 1 asada all yummy l got a jamaica to wash down my yummy tacos. The staff is really nice and so happy to be busy, let's support our local businesses. Last but not least the salsa bar has a great selection of salsa onions cilantro etc. Can't wait to return soon.... read more
We're craving for Mexican food after spending a week in Iceland, and Enrique's foots the bill because it's walking distance from our house. I've only tried it once, but it was ten years ago. I was not particularly impressed the first time, but I need to give it a second chance. My wife ordered the pork shank and I got the seabass. Both were amazing! And the overwhelming portion size remained unchanged. Service was exceptional, and we beat the crowd by having a Sunday dinner at 5 pm. read more

2/21/26, Enrique's was well worth the short wait outside, our dinners and service was excellent. Although, the menu prices here have increased since the last time I visited here on 03/27/24, the food is still very good, service is great, and of course the salsa is very good along with the chips. Definitely recommend this Mexican restaurant over Acapulco Mexican restaurant any day. I am increasing my star review to a 5-star for Enrique's despite of course the menu prices having gone up on some items, but lower on some other items since 2024, but not as high as in 2020-2022 during the pandemic. Receipt this time totalled $47.79 not including the tip I left of $10.00. Slightly lower than 2024 for the same two items ordered. read more

Back again, and coming here for years... Try the ribeye steak or the pork shank you can't go wrong. Also, they have great spinach and fried potato chips. The service here is always excellent on the ambience is what you would expect from a wonderful restaurant. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked through the door. Our server was polite and the atmosphere was nice. As soon as you walk in you can immediately smell the delicious home style food cooking and I was instantly hungry. The server gave us chips and salsa. The salsa was amazing! I had the 2 cheese enchiladas and my brother had the chile relleno enchiladas. Both were really delicious and in a generous portions. They were both served with rice and refried beans. There was so much sauce and cheese on my plate it was amazing!! So much food I had no choice but to take most of it home. Will definitely come back here whenever I'm in this neck of the woods again. read more

This is one of the best Mexican food places on LB & OC I had. The friendliest, warm of the staff to the comfort & simply delish foods and drinks to the relax chill vibe...just make you want to keep coming back for more. This place has been around for a long long time and I have been here several times. Now there is another one couple door down in the same complex with his daughter name (I haven't try it yet). The place comes with easy parking since it has big private parking lot and clean & safe. Can't wait till next visit. Gracias. read more

This is my go to spot close to the house always great home style cooked food very good serving size and taste delicious. Service is very very good and attentive and helpful. Inside seating is great with booths and tables for any party size for family and friends it's a must try I highly recommend and will be back again Cheers!!!! read more
They have really good salsa. I can just have chips & salsa at this restaurant & I will be happy. I like their chips they are light and not overly oily. Salsa seems freshly made with lot of tomatoes in it. I got the Chilean sea bass again and it is consistently good. I like that it comes with spinach & tomatoes. The first time I ordered this special, it threw me off as it was in clear watery "soup". I usually don't like my food in watery soup, unless I ordered a soup. This dish is good despite my dislike for my meal in watery soups. My husband got the pork shank special tonight. He enjoyed it and had plenty of left over for another meal at home. He got Chili verde last time and enjoyed that a lot as well. Their portions are generous. The service is adequate. There seemed to be regulars are they got much friendlier greetings & welcomes, and were attended to first. I didn't mind as the regulars should get the special treatment from the staff. Oh, their flour tortilla was very good too. This may become our Sunday dinner place for a while. read more
Enrique's Mexican Restaurant is my favorite kind of classic Californian Mexican eatery. The tortilla chips are flowing. The aroma is beckoning. Talavera style plates and carved tables and chairs. You enter a timeless place where families gather, share, and laugh. At once reminding you of home and being a welcomed new guest. The salsa was delicious, but not too spicy. Ceviche was fresh and well seasoned. I got the fresh fish if the day which was a Chilean sea bass swimming on a bed of sautéed spinach, a side of rice and tortillas. The taste was incredible and the textures: the smoky char on the fish and the softness of the vegetables; the broth never drowned the meal: my compliments to the chef. I can't wait to try more classic tacos and burritos, albondigas, and chile rellanos, but I was in a seafood mood and was not disappointed. Great for an afternoon weekend long lunch. Excellent authentic Mexican food- flavorful, large portions and reasonable prices. Service was excellent with attentive wait staff and assistant servers. Food was served quickly and piping hot. Restaurant has booths and tables, played great music- had a busy parking lot but easy to find parking- I didn't utilize the to-go option but the traffic to pick up to-go food was non-stop. A definite must try if you're in the area. read more

First time here and enjoyed everything! Fresh chips, delicious salsa, and friendly service. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos and my son ordered carne asada burrito. Food was authentic, generous portions, and delicious! Would definitely be back and enjoyed the small quaint restaurant. read more
This is my first time visiting this restaurant. This must be a pretty popular spot because there were quite a few people already in the restaurant. I arrived to meet my guest at 5:30. Their menu is moderately priced, I would say the average plate cost around $16. The menu displayed a number options for appetizers, entrees, a la carte, desserts and beverages. The server was kind and gave us time to converse and catch up. When we did order he was knowledgeable of how the food was prepared. The food came out 10 mins later. The food was seasoned well and very tasty. I would definitely return. read more

We came to have dinner at Enrique's tonight. My husband had the mushroom and cheese enchilada plate and I had the mahi mahi tacos. The order took less than 10 minutes to arrive! The server was very nice and polite. There weren't many people since they were closing 35 minutes after we arrived. Overall, we both enjoyed our meals but hubby wouldn't order the cheese enchilada plate again he said. It might have been just a little too salty for him. We will come back again to try other items since we live so close by and enjoyed the ambience and staff! read more

I LOVE the food here!!!!! My favorite dish is the paella con pollo and the food is ALWAYS fresh! The service is prompt and attentive as-well. All of the decorations and paints are always so pretty and give this restaurant a warm vibe. read more
