    Medium bowl of Menudo

We had such a greatexperience at BUBUs! I'm so glad we stumbled upon this gem. It's not always easy finding a Mexican restaurant that can satisfy everyone's breakfast cravings, but BUBUs absolutely delivered. My husband ordered the chilaquiles and couldn't stop raving about them, and I went with the medium bowl of menudo which was the perfect portion and exactly what I was hoping for. Rich, flavorful, and cooked just right. Even our son was happy as he got a simple order of pancakes and completely devoured them! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and everything came out perfectly cooked. It's rare to find a spot that checks all the boxes like this. We'll definitely be back soon :)

Very friendly service from each of the servers and from the owner. they were attentive right away, the food came in great portions and they have a a great variety on their menu, from many Mexican dishes and American dishes, they have great options for breakfast lunch and dinner. My wife and I got the chilaquiles verdes which were phenomenal, just the right amount of spice not too much and my son got the Pancakes, they added plantains and strawberries, then we got what is known as a dirty coffee drink, where it is horchata and iced coffee combined it was so good. Affordable prices, great good, great local family owned business. Support this local family owned business in Long Beach. Go check it out.

Ugh Bubu's did it again with the breakfast burrito! I did ask them to add strips of bacon rather than chopped and I think it tasted way better than I remember from the first time! So good and thank you for putting 2 salsas in my bag!

Small little shop. Simple, straight to the point. Delicious food, made with love. Great service and price! Coming back for more!

Stopped in before class . Got a carne asada burrito they got it out pretty quickly. The burrito wasn't too fat but it was pretty lengthy . The meat tasted of quality very flavorful and no fat . The rice was good to very traditional Mexican rice . I really enjoyed how they took to time to toast my burrito once all wrapped up, it gave it texture . The service was good and the ambience was small but very clean .

Great service amazing food.. I love this place definitely the best menudo you've ever..

As a Long Beach local, I was searching for a good place to get menudo close to home. The expression "a hole in the wall" wouldn't do this place justice--it's more like a diamond in the rough. From the service provided by Maria, the manager, to the amazing 10/10 food, my overall experience was top notch. I will definitely be back to try a different dish. It's a small restaurant; the ambience was chill, and I loved the artwork on the walls. They also have a takeout window.

Excellent! Food is flavored fresh and presented by the chief bringing his love and care for what he cwindows. Service is great! He also considers school kids by serving specially priced dishes for them at the window.

Excellent service and over delivered. Found this place Sunday morning browsing on Yelp and it definitely hit the spot. My uncle and I got the chilaquiles (red and green) and some coffees. The coffee was really good with a cinnamon hint and some vanilla creamer. Definitely coming back! Give this local gem a try if you're craving some authentic Mexican food!

Hidden gem! Very good taco spot, fresh homemade tortillas. Have not tried other items yet but coming back for sure

    Chilaquiles rojo.

Bubu's lives up to its 5-star reputation! The chilaquiles rojo con barbacoa were perfection, with light, crispy, chips, fresh avocado, and tender meat in a medium-spicy sauce with eggs sunny side up. Never had better anywhere. And the service was fast and very friendly. Can't beat this little out-of-the-way place

Hidden Gem in the heart of LB! Food is authentic, customer service is great and prices are fair. Barbacoa plate, lemon pepper wings and Churro Balls are all must try's.

Handmade tortillas , you can taste the difference !!

First of all one of their workers with the mastche and tattoos is so cute which is always a plus for the ambiance. It didn't take long to get our food. About 5 minutes and they brought it out to where we sat since we dined in. First of all! You need to get an aguas fresca. We got the medium for the orange mango and the Jamaica. They are so natural. I'm a huge fan of artificial flavor so this was a huge shock, but it pairs so well with their food. My only regret isn't getting the large. For the food we got the burrito 2.0 asada and the chivichanga chicken. The burrito was great but very heavy on the beans. Make sure you get extra green salsa. It's their best and a perfect balance of salty with a hint of sweet. The red salsa gets spicy. If you can't handle hot Cheetos don't eat it. Now the chivichanga thing was perfect. It's so tiny but the fact it's about $5 was perfect. I have never had something so well priced and portioned before. The way I can describe it if you ever wanted to taste high class Taco Bell that will make you want four more then you need to try it. And I mean this in the best way possible. It's so cheesy and savory and yummy!!! Truly just from these two dishes we will be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Our next dishes is to try the tacos!

We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

It's normally taco Tuesday or dinner. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Mainly everyone was seated outside which we wanted a table as well. There was one that we were interested in and asked if we could have it which the waitress working was ok with. But it needed clearing up. It took a while for someone to come out and clear and clean the table up. It was fine waiting but it was like did someone forget about us. Anyways. We got seated and then the waiting continued. It could be that they were short staff but it seemed like there was only one person working. It took a while for someone to finally come back and acknowledge us and take our order. After that the chips and salsa were brought out. Once we ordered the drinks it was easier to place everything together. Menu for happy hour is pretty limited. A few drinks and beer on drafts and for food, maybe 6 items on the menu. Went with an order of the street corn which was quite tasty. An order of the mole chicken nachos and the queso dip with barria. Out of the three, the queso dips and the street corn were great. Nachos were good but nothing really major. The flavors of everything were quite tasty. Dishes were 12.00 an item. For happy hour, it was decent and what we had was good. The service was pretty slow at the beginning. Only the front patio and inside seating was available as the back patio wasn't open. We did start to see other staff walking in so maybe there was only one staff during the time.

The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH.
