I've been here twice, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing. The menudo was very watery and had almost no flavor. The service was also poor, and our server seemed to avoid us whenever she could. We decided to give the place another chance, thinking maybe the first visit was just a bad day, but unfortunately, the second experience was just as disappointing. The food was not good, the service was bad, and the prices were way too high for what we received. I came here after all the hype they had about this place so I decided to give it a try. The menudo is pretty decent it's very good honestly So if you want Menudo this is one of the places to try! The gordita de Chicharron wasn't as good it was cold and a little stale ill give it a 4/10. The tacos de birra were yummy and tasty. The service was good they didn't take long to be honest Im actually planning to come back next week. Lol Mr. Menudo definitely deserves the name, their menudo is chefs kiss ‍ I had a small menudo bowl with hominy that came with, cilantro, onion, tortilla, lemon and chilli oil. Now, add in whatever you want but do not forget that chilli oil! The menudo was already great on its own but adding that chilli oil made it even more delicious! The tripe was cooked very well and the broth has a very good tasty flavorful. I would definitely come here again and probably get the large menudo bowl. It was our first time going here and the service was disappointing. Make sure you get what you paid for. My husband ordered to go. Took our own pot to avoid wasting the containers. My husband clearly asked how much it would be for the menudo and pata in the pot they said $30. When he gets home there's no pata and one piece of nervio. This was the owners response. Making it seem like we needed to pay extra to get what we wanted he did us a favor by adding their nervio (which was literally one piece that was half broken into two) instead of apologizing for their mess up. When mom and pop shops starting getting hype they start lacking on their service and this is what's clearly happening here. I made the pilgrimage to the city of Compton to try what has been touted as THE best menudo around!!! And you what?... it is! Now don't get me wrong ,it's kinda hard to beat my mother in laws homemade menudo that she makes religiously during the holidays . But honestly this menudo is really good! Every time I find myself close to Mr.Menudo and it's early in the day, this is our go to. Growing up in a home where the only "good" menudo was my grandmothers, he definitely gives her a run for her money. The menudo is clean and tasty.
