Our dishes were outstanding i ordered the molcajete and it totally exceeded my expectations. Portions are generous. Every side is freshly made not canned not pre made; as well as the aguas frescas. My lemonade was refreshing and well made. Needless to mention their sauces....so yummy. Prices are reasonable. If it weren't for the very loud music playing, I would not have known this was a Mexican restaurant. We ordered Fish and Shrimp Ceviche tostadas, but it was ok not the best I ever had. Tostadas had more Cucumbers and Tomatoes than Fish or Shrimp, and to make it worse, it was soaked in some kind of unidentifiable watery juice which made the hard Tostada soggy. What prompts M E Perihuete to soak a hard Tostada shell with water? unbelievable! The Chilaquiles were bad. They were so spicy I could not taste my food. Overall, the service was bad the lady who served us was busy laughing and giggling with the male customers instead of attending to her tables. I have to say the obvious about the waitresses here, to be as nice as I can put it, their lips stand out as plungers, the chest, and behind well, so obvious they were not normal... The service was bad and the food was not the best. Pricey. Plenty of parking.

The Cajun seafood is excellent and, in our opinion, better than other similar places like The Kickin' Crab. What really sets their seafood apart is the basil leaves they add to the sauce. It gives everything an extra layer of flavor that makes it so good and keeps us coming back. They also have Thai food, which is a nice bonus when you want something other than seafood. Portions are good, prices are fair, and the food has been consistently delicious. Definitely one of our favorite spots for Cajun seafood!

Thus review from a take out perspective…read more Ordered a pound if crawfish and a pound of clams, extra sausages and potatoes, with mixed sauce in medium spicy. The sauce was delicious, offering a Thai inspired flavor to this classic viet cajun style meal. The added basil was a very fragrant addition. California crawfish season is just about to begin, but I don't know if the restaurant started using fresh live crawfish yet because the majority of the crawfish shells were soft and mushy, although thr meat was still good. Based on the sauce alone, I'd definitely try again in a month or two to see if the quality of the crawfish improves as we get deeper into crawfish season. The clams were hit and miss as some were great while others were handy. Generous amounts of sausages and potatoes were given for a good price. My wife and I were able to finish the add ons in one sitting. I'd give the restaurant and overall 3.5 right now, 5 for the sauce alone and a bit lower than a 3 for the seafood quality. We still enjoyed the meal, but quality could definitely be better.

The sauce in the bag felt a bit... watered down like it went for a swim before meeting the seafood. For a party of four, we ordered: SHRIMP LOVER COMBO, LOBSTER ROLL, SIDE OF RICE, BASKET OF SEASONED FRIES, AND MAD DOG XXX SAUCE on the side. Portion-wise, we left comfortably full and only slightly questioning our life choices. The Shrimp Lover Combo can't be modified. We chose Stinkin' Special and Spicy, which came with a plastic glove so you can dig in like a civilized gremlin. The Stinkin' Special was a generous blasts of Old Bay and enough garlic to ward off vampires. The Mad Dog sauce wasn't shock-your-soul spicy, but it definitely lingered. I was still feeling its friendly burn hours later and well into the evening. The LOBSTER ROLLL was tasty but fleeting. It's one of those dishes that makes you realize the meal is almost over right when you're hitting peak satisfaction. A little emotional damage there. We wrapped it all up with deep-fried Oreos and ice cream, which was an instant win. Sweet, cooling relief after all that heat. Tip: Sign up to their text newsletter at the restaurant and enjoy a free basket of fries. BTW, their website is down. :(
