Place is **CASH ONLY** The tacos de gobernador are fire!! I've only ordered these tacos & love how crispy they are. They have shrimp & cheese in them (they will ask you if you want beans or rice; I go with rice). I've had shrimp tacos with cheese before and usually the cheese is too salty & flavor gets boring. But these are on point. I haven't tried anything else so this review is solely based on those tacos. My family loves them too. This review is strictly for their tacos camarones. I crave for these bad boys for weeks on end. At $2 a piece, save your allowance and spoil yourself with 10 of them! The magic in these tacos is CHEESE. The shrimp is marinated and cooked to juicy, puffy pefection, then cut up and nestled atop cheese drizzled with cilantro, onion, and salsa. Delish! They also offer a wide variety of seafood and non seafood dishes; shrimp, chicken, asada, or cheese enchiladas, ceviche, burritos, carne asada dishes, etc. Typical mariscos restaurant. Horchata is yummy here. They also serve alcohol and soft drinks. Service is A+ and the music is loud and extremely native. I don't mind it since I grew up around it. I'm very disappointed with this place. The only reason why I'm giving them 2 stars is because I like their tacos de camaron. I called ahead of time to find out what time the place closed, i was informed they close at 9, it was 8:30 then. I got there at 8:40 and i was told to wait because the waitress needed to ask the cook if we could dine in. When she got back she asked me if i already knew what i was going to order. I told her i did, so she said ok have a seat... lol ok! By the time we finished our meal and walked out of the place it was 9:03. I understand they want to go home, but I find it very unprofessional that they didn't inform me over the phone that although they close at 9pm there is a "cutoff" time to dine in. read more

Who would have ever thought the city of Bellflower would would take claim to two of the best hidden gems in the 562 - Mariscos Miramar and Can Coon Tha. It's two dollars a pop for the shrimp tacos. The size of these tacos are fairly decent and they pile a good amount of shrimp. I also had flautas and carne asada tacos but its not even worth mentioning after I already talked about the shrimp tacos. You have to check this spot out. My cousin took us here today and I was impressed. You know a place is good when it's packed by the locals and it continously attracts its own people. I didn't want to write this review because this place used to be so good, the employees and the food were authentic. I truly hope things improve but since the original owner left things have gone downhill for this place. All the original recipes are gone, the original waitresses are gone, prices have gone up but most importantly the quality of the food is awful, and the portions are a lot smaller. Every time I get anything asada it tastes like the meat is old or it's burned, or it tastes like it made contact with some type of cleaning product. I brought it up to the waitress and nothing was done. I wasn't given a refund even though she could see that I didn't finish the food. Not even a discount. I noticed someone else ordered coffee and they complained that the milk that was given to them for their coffee was spoiled. It's so sad to see how bad things are here. However, I had two chicken soft tacos and an orange juice from here yesterday and it was all quite good! The tacos were served open with onions, salsa and cilantro and the helpings were generous. Very, very tasty! Also, as previously mentioned, the value for the food is outstanding. The orange juice was hand-squeezed, as it had a few seeds and some pulp. I didn't mind the seeds though; it was delicious and fresh. My friend got a carne asade burrito, and she ate all of it in a matter of minutes. She said it was excellent. First off I was surprised with the food portions, small serving of rice and beans but I was happy to see enough shrimp(perfect portion for a lunch). The food was hot and fresh and the beans were delicious! The shrimp was spicy and the food was amazing. I got a side of three tortillas(way more than enough but perfect for tortilla lovers). They even packed me a side of chips to enjoy with my meal which they offer for dine-in at no extra charge. Normally restaurants won't give you free chips for to go orders. Very happy with my experience here and would definitely come back again! Yay for a local hot spot. I gave them 4 stars because I felt the food was a bit overpriced. Came here with the fam. To start, their salsa for the chips was flavorless. We had to add a looooot of salt to it. I ordered a wet burrito and it was all right. The steak needed seasoning as well. The only ones that really enjoyed their food were the ones that got the shrimp tacos. Other than that everyone else was disappointed. As Alan J. said the shrimp tacos are "THE BOMB." There is nothing fancy about the shrimp tacos--just a corn tortilla, shrimp, topped with salsa and melted cheese. After 3 of these and an horchata is the perfect meal for less than 10 bucks. They also have this seafood ceviche concoction--so delicious. It's served in this huge glass chalice looking thing topped with fresh avocado. Saltine crackers and a bottle of cocktail sauce are served on the side to accompany the ceviche. Try their al pastor nachos. It's not on the menu, but they will gladly make it for you just ask. I know where I'm having lunch tomorrow since I now have a craving for shrimp tacos! read more

Let me get right to the point, the cerviche de pescado tostada had very little pescado on it. It was more of a vegan cerviche. I mean come on, this thing was mostly vegetables. Hardly any fish. a complete rip off. and the limes they gave on the side had very little juice in them. you really had to squeeze the hell out of them to get any juice out.
