I've visited other local ayce Asian buffets and will say by far this is one of the best ones. Plenty of choices for seafood, sushi, and more considering the affordable price point ($23.99 for the weekend). Loved how the ice cream also were in individual containers and not the ones where you scoop it out yourself like at other buffets-- much more sanitary. Service was efficient and restaurant clean overall. Definitely will be back, perhaps on a weekday as the lunch price is even cheaper!

Flaming Buffet in Norwalk really is the MVP of all Flaming Buffets we've tried. Yes, it was packed (Saturday night in December chaos), and yes, we waited about 20 minutes, but honestly, worth it!!! The variety was impressive!!! Everything tasted fresh and hot, not sad and sitting there buffet vibes. The beef selection was stacked: beef back ribs, short ribs (at the grill), roast beef..... a carnivore's dream!!!! The short ribs were a bit chewy (could've used a little Asian pear or kiwi bromelain magic), but the chicken wings were an absolute smoke show!! Massive, crispy, and dangerous!!! Lots of seafood for the ocean lovers. Head's up: They automatically add 10% gratuity for parties of 8 or more!!! Our whole crew left happy...especially the sushi lovers and the grill station fans. Shoutout to my husband, who treated the cup ice cream station like a Pokémon collection and caught all six flavors!! Service was on point too: friendly attentive staff, nonstop plate clearing, drinks always topped off. Overall, this place is a ridiculous bang for your buck. Perfect for big groups, big appetites, and people who believe buffets should not mess around!!!

January 2026 -I'm not sure I want to leave a review but this place is the bomb. It takes over an hour to drive to get to this amazing place and it's so worth it. Why ambivalent leave a review because this place may get too crowded in the future and we're not gonna wait another hour in line on top of hour plus commute. I'm not leaving pictures of the steamed Rock-crabs,. Crawfish or clams I had. You also won't see pictures of the fried calamari, Blue crab or Sole fish. I did not leave pictures on purpose Yes, it's crowded they placed our party of 20 packed in a table like a bunch of sardines but we didn't care cause the seafood was totally worth it. Service could be better but they are understaffed. But who cares as long as the food is awesome.

I look for the mango jelly but don't see it at the dessert station. Sad. What's surprising is seeing soft shell crabs being served during a weekday lunch. I think there are 4 different varieties of hot wings here. More than at any other buffets I've been to. Sushi station actually looks really good but I have no space left in my tummy for more food. Service is friendly and quick.

Wow! Another good buffet. The options were great for $22.99 per adult. All day weekend price!! Stone crabs only avail on weekends. Weekdays lunch price $16.99 only. They had the sushi bar, salad bar, dessert & fruits sections, dim sum section, teppanyaki, and the hot foods. They have seafoods like crawfish, shrimps, fish, clams, green mussels w/cheese, oysters, and crabs. The best seafoods were the stone crabs and the deep fried baby crabs. If you're lucky, there will be some good size stone claws. Very tasty. Missing hot butter tho. The only thing they need were the crab legs. It would be the best buffet in town lol I didn't try the sushi. It didnt look that fresh, imo. However, keep in mind that it's a buffet that cost only $22.99 dinner/weekend price. We went on a Sunday at around 515pm. It wasn't busy. Service was ok Drinks not included in price Senior discounts avail Will return

Food was good, we enjoy this place but today was the last time we went. It was 2 seniors 3 adult and 1 child. My husband decided to not eat at all and take a plate to go, if you know they charge about $10-$15 per pound. Originally my husband talked to a man about not charging him since he didn't touch ANY food he got a little and asked for them to charge to go they agreed. We told the lady who charge us he didn't touch any food at all they have cameras for a reason. She charges us $22 as a senior for my husband sitting there and still wanted her tip!!!!! Not going back anymore!! The guy that charges even questioned her and they argue in their language! She kept saying he was free and pushing us to go!!!

It was me and mom day. I try to take my mom to try new Chinese buffets. I found this place through Yelp. Before we entered the restaurant we encountered some racism. Some guy spewing racism and hate towards us because we are Asian. Who would have thought this would happen in Norwalk? Anyways, back to the review of this place. It's a decent place. Mom really enjoyed everything. The place was clean. Service was good. Food options were great, even for a week day. What I enjoyed: Fried flounder with white rice Salted duck egg bao Green beans Potatoes Soft shell crab with salt and pepper Sweet potato A green dim sum bao with coconut on the outside and some sort of cream on the inside Cream cheese wontons with sweet and sour sauce Mango jello Cherry jello Eggplant Pan fried octopus Shrimp

So no joke, this may have been one of the best buffets I've ever been to. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating. They offer a variety of sushi, seafood, simple dim sum, Mongolian bbq, classic American-style Chinese, and more. I tried mostly the sushi, dimsum, and made a fresh Mongolian bbq plate and it all felt well worth the cost. The Mongolian bbq is definitely where it's at. Piping hot and lots of options for fresh veggies to complement the meats (which were fresh rather than the frozen rolled kind, much to our surprise). The sushi was mostly fresh, though the fried rolls weren't. I tried one and it was chewy stale. Quality of the maki rolls was pleasantly solid. They had four basic options for dimsum (wontons with meat and veggies, vegetarian bao, har gow, and one that I'm just going to describe mystery mochi). The har gow was actually pretty good, but all the dimsum seemed pretty clearly large batch and steamed from frozen (but it's a buffet, so). Service was prompt, friendly, and frequently checking up on us. Overall, this was one of the best buffet experiences I can remember having locally.

We're from San Diego so coming up here was a bit of a trek. Food was great for the price..bathroom was clean so the kitchen must have been clean as well. This was our 1st time here and we were very impressed. The service was quick and friendly. But just remember that Weekend are dinner pricing All day. There's no lunch pricing on the weekend. Definitely will come back whenever we're in the area.

Very impressed with the selection of food they offer for lunch! Best items I put in my plate were: Jalapeño Chicken, Glass Noodles, Salmon Bakes on a Shell, Mushrooms, and the Green Beans. Service was great, very welcoming and the staff were attentive for refills. Some items like the Orange Chicken, were somewhat cold and the temperature was off, so I didn't get seconds on that; other than that everything else was fine. They offer Ice Cream Cups only for DINE-IN. They were deliciously sweet! I tasted Strawberry & Chocolate with Vanilla, 10/10. Lastly, the ambience felt spacious and modern with all the wall art and digital screens. A cool place to check out with friends or family.

In addition, at dinner only, each person can order one lamb shank - just this piece of meat alone is worth your $28.99 visit. The restaurant food section is maintained very cleanly, food is beautifully displayed for a self-serve buffet restaurant. Plenty of seating area with ability to accommodate larger parties, and feels family friendly. The only shortcoming they have is that their fruit section tastes consistently unappealing, and some of the desserts don't tastes too great either. But at least their main dishes taste good. Regardless, this is a regular lunch spot frequented, and would bring friends over for dinner here, if they ever feel like Mediterranean.

I came here recently for a birthday celebration, and I'm happy to see they've maintained the quality of their food. The restaurant is pretty big with plenty of seating options. In terms of service, there are workers consistently going around bussing your dishes and table, and bringing out more food. It's located in a large shopping plaza so parking is also no issue. I really enjoy the food here. They have plenty of salads, dips (3 types of hummus, baba ganoush, tzatziki, garlic sauce, etc.), rice mixed with different things, soups, fresh pita, kebabs, dolma, other marinated meats, and more. I'm a BIG fan of the cauliflower, eggplant, garlic sauce, fried fish, marinated chicken (in tomato sauce), and the arugula salad. I have noticed that the fried options like fish and chicken can vary in terms of quality, and the kebabs are a bit on the drier side. In terms of variety, it's primarily Mediterranean dishes/dips/salads, not surprisingly, but there are options for the picky eaters out there like pizza, lasagna, and fried chicken. It doesn't have as much variety compared to an Asian buffet, but the options are still relatively diverse and (in my opinion) are higher quality. That is to say it is on the pricier side (weekends: ~$36+), so if you don't have a big appetite, it's probably more cost-effective to go to a regular Mediterranean restaurant and order single dishes. They used to offer rose water but they got rid of the it a few years back and sadly I did not see it resurfaced this time around. It's also set up cafeteria style which is not ideal when things get busy, often times there are lines of people building and waiting for the person in front of them OR new food to come out. This is especially true when people are waiting in the middle for the lamb shank.

It's definitely appropriate to get your grub on after a long, hard workout! If you like seafood, this place is for you. There are several different types of sushi, shrimp, fish, and other shellfish. There are also the typical Chinese food buffet items like: Fried rice Lo mein Orange chicken Beef & broccoli Honey walnut shrimp Pepper chicken (delish and crunchy) Veggie egg rolls Teriyaki chicken Fried chicken wings (delish) Pot stickers Cheese wontons Chicken on a stick Sesame balls Fried plantains For the kids: Cheese pizza McDonald's style chicken nuggets French fries Ice cream sandwiches (delish) Ice cream in a cup There is also a hibachi grill. The meat cut of the hibachi steak was (I'm pretty sure) sirloin steak. Great selection of sauce/vegetables to add on. The amount and variety of food choices here is very impressive. Hot food and sushi quality were good. I'm also dazzled that they had Blue Ribbon ice cream sandwiches (they were so good, I had 3)!! Service is good, they're prompt at refilling drinks and taking dirty plates. My only gripe here is that they did not have beef short ribs (Yelpers' pics in other Flaming Buffet locations had this). However, for $18/person for all day weekend buffet and all of the food options, you really can't go wrong and still a very good deal!!

Straight to the buffet line. Got anything pertaining to seafood. Crab legs, jumbo shrimp, muscles and salmon. I can taste the freshness. I did not leave an after taste which is an indication of msg being used. The crab legs and the jumbo shrimp alone make it up for an adult price entree fee. The crab legs they are serving can range up to $36 to $60 a lb! That is definitely a steal! Getting your money's worth. Also a Hot wok was present. Grabbed my meats and veggies, gave it to the cook and was ready in 7 to 10 minutes. Big Kudos to the cook. He did an excellent job. He was friendly. This place is a hit and miss with the servers. Sometime they are friendly or sometimes they are just a square human being. No reaction just robots when you are trying to talk to them. That is why 5 stars is not given. Definite one of the better all you can eat buffets. Lots of items to choose from. Fresh and delicious. Gets crowded on Saturday and Sunday Brunch. time. Plenty of parking. Bathroom can use some help. Current visit was a simple lunch with my family. Had an amazing time choosing from the different options. They have the best bourbon chicken, hit's the spot and seafood. Loved the easy to eat crab legs, sushi, and deserts to add the cherry on top after that delicious meal. The soups feel so earthy with a creamy feel, especially the chowder. Personally, I am not a fan of the buffet deserts because it's not giving anything special. But East Buffet is an exception because there were so many different desert options like the red-velvet cake thing. And it tastes delicious too. But I have to admit, the ice cream options are so amazing. Most buffets would have only chocolate or vanilla, but East Buffet has Coffee flavored, Matcha, and Birthday cake. (Which seemed like a icecream where they mixed a bunch of other flavors to make one.) The seating is so comforting, ambiance is chill and service is welcoming. Only thing to inform is that the staff are very serious about their rules. One of the children were scooping out the ice cream with a spoon and one of the chefs stopped them. Had a fun time. Thank you for the experiance.

Lowkey... it's kinda perfect for a cheap date or bringing the fam through without stressing the bill. My parents actually put me onto this spot (shoutout to the senior discount squad ), even though they barely eat enough these days to really "win" the buffet game. Now let's keep it real... the strategy here is SALT. Like heavy-handed, drink-your-entire-water-cup type salt. You can tell they're trying to slow you down so you tap out early -- and yeah, that's where it kinda hurts the experience. BUT not everything was a miss. Here's what actually hit: * Baked mayo cheese mussels -- lowkey the MVP * Clams (if they chilled on the salt/MSG) * Mongolian BBQ station -- just tell them go EASY on sodium and you're good * Honey walnut shrimp... minus the walnuts * Salmon sashimi -- surprisingly solid Now what to avoid unless you're tryna raise your blood pressure: * Salt & pepper shrimp -- I'm not kidding, I had to chug a full cup of water after * Clams (again... salty roulette) * Mongolian BBQ if you don't speak up about the salt * Crawfish -- somehow salty AND flavorless at the same time?? make it make sense Other vibes: * No wait at all -- you walk in and get seated instantly, which is honestly a win * Super quiet, no music -- very family-style, chill atmosphere * Restrooms... yeah, not it. Smell hits you before you even walk in Overall? It's a "know what to grab" type buffet. Come for the price, pick your battles with the food, and you'll leave satisfied... just maybe a little thirsty Btw I didn't see no oysters or snow crab legs...

As a remembrance of my dad's birthday, my wife, her mom, and I went to one of his favorite chain…read morerestaurants to eat dinner (after my wife and I had just gotten back from visiting our daughter). I intentionally chose a Golden Corral that we hadn't been before (we usually go to the closer one in Bellflower), and found that this Downey location didn't have the best aesthetics or service, but the food was on point. Gold Corral was already pretty busy when we got there before 5 pm. Dinner pricing was in play, costing $22.79 per person plus $4.39 for a soft drink. One stands in line to enter, grabbing your drinks from the self-serve soda fountain, and then paying the cashier. There was no option to add a tip, which was a bit surprising (since other food places that have far less service commonly add the option to their checkout process). Large sections of the restaurant were on reserve, but there were still plenty of places to sit, so was still on find-your-own table status. Once we found one, said hi to our server and went up. Two of the best things on the buffet were the golden fried shrimp (jumbo in size, nicely deep fried in a good oil) which were delicious dipped in their cocktail sauce (though each item were at opposite ends of the buffet) AND their freshly grilled sirloin steak. Once you get the grillers attention, he will fork over half of one, with the right level of doneness according to your request. Even though I was disappointed in learning that the steaks are now delivered frozen, they didn't taste that way. It was very good, as good a steak as I've had at any other fast casual restaurant, and certainly the best at a AYCE place. I tried their well known pot roast as well, and it was the same as before: really tender, going well with the accompanying gravy. I also tried their cornmeal fried catfish: quite good and not overly greasy. Good deep frying seems to be common here. Did notice they had fried chicken and grilled chicken available. Each table had paper napkin dispenser, and condiments like ketchup, steak sauce, and hot sauce. Other things I noticed were the self serve 3 flavor ICEE machine, self serve soft serve ice cream, and chocolate dipped fruits and snacks. What it did not have were two things that I've seen before at other Golden Corrals: a cotton candy machine and a self serve chocolate fountain. They did seem understaffed, as our dirty plates kept piling up and our drinks didn't get refilled. I was tempted to go to the nearby beverage station to just refill it ourselves, but the clear signage stating 'Employees Only' deterred me. My wife did get a server's attention, and he did clear our plates and refill our drinks...thus got a chance to use my 2 dollar bills before we left. We ended up only staying for 40 minutes, which would have disappointed my dad (who made it a rule to stay at least 1 hour at any AYCE place). But we ate well (my mother in law really loved the fried shrimp), which is what really mattered.
