Came here for dinner with my family and had a mixed experience overall. The ambiance was nice, comfortable and inviting, which made it a good spot for a family dinner. The food was definitely the highlight, everything we tried tasted fresh and well-prepared, especially the sushi. Unfortunately, the service didn't quite match the quality of the food. Our server wasn't very attentive. At one point, I asked for a fork for my mom and it never came. After waiting a while, I had to flag down another server who finally helped us so she could start eating. There were also a few mix-ups during our visit. A dish meant for another table was brought to us, and when I pointed it out, the server questioned whether we were sure we didn't order it, which felt a bit awkward. On top of that, there seemed to be some confusion or inconsistency with ordering rules. We were told carpaccio orders were limited to one of each per person. I ordered the seared tuna, salmon, and yellowtail carpaccio, but only received one of the three. Yesterday my family and I dined at Kairi and I would love to give an outstanding review! I'd specifically like to give Eddy and our busser (I didn't catch his name but he had light brown hair) for the best service. Since it was a Friday night it was very packed but everyone served us with a smile. Our busser was very attentive even though he clearly had multiple tasks and tables to wait. I'd like to give Eddy a personal shoutout for being extremely patient with my family. We were a party of 10 and when I spoke to a gentleman the day before he mentioned there are no reservations but someone in your group can get to the restaurant early to put your name down. Since I live much further out only my mom could get to the restaurant early and put her name. Our name was called much faster than expected but none of the party was there. Eddy was extremely generous to hold the table for us. If he didn't we probably would have waited at least an hour for a new table. I'd also like to give Eddy a shoutout for staying professional while my mom was giving him a hard time. I'd like to personally apologize because I know my mom can come off very strong at times! I've been back several times since my last review, so I wanted to provide a little update. The fish is still delicious, but the service has once again improved! Or at least whenever I visit, it feels as it did. It's noticeably faster since my last review, and I could see the gradual improvement during my visits in between, so big kudos to the team! (Definitely a lot faster than my first visit when it first opened a few years ago.) I usually like to visit on weekends around 4-5 PM, but this visit was on a Friday night around 7, and it was quite busy. All the tables were filled up. There was a slight wait when I arrived, maybe about 10 minutes, but that was mostly due to them cleaning and setting up a new table. Once you place your order, the food actually comes quite quickly, and I was surprised, considering it was a busy day. I'd say we received everything from each round in less than 20 minutes, which was surprising, as we ordered quite a bit. One thing I noticed was that they started doing better, which was that the food arrived in a staggered order rather than all at once. Kairi Sushi is a great addition to Cerritos! Sake2Me used to be my go to spot, but they stopped doing à la carte, but Kairi does and has since been my new go to. I've only done à la carte here and it's always been solid! They've also had a special where all rolls are $10, which I thought was a steal for the quality of food. I've tried a few fresh rolls and baked rolls and have been impressed with everything. I'll definitely have to come back and try the ayce option one day. We found parking easily in the large lot and walked in for lunch on a Friday with no wait. Service was attentive and friendly and they regularly cleared our empty plates. The all-you-can-eat menu is extensive and I appreciate how most of the rolls are four pieces. The fish to rice ratio is also very favorable for the nigiri. I enjoyed the appetizers and hot food as well. The hand rolls were great. It was fun having spam musubi on the menu, and they even had a promotion with a free salmon collar for lunch. First time going to Kairi Sushi! Went during happy hour going into dinner. The place was half-full, no wait. We got the premium AYCE. There's a separate order slip of the limited ayce options, we ordered all of those first. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the Carpaccio and oysters from that section. Regarding the rest of the menu, I'm partial towards both the baked and crunchy Langostino rolls and Las Vegas Rolls. All of the other options were fine, got full after two big orders and had to focus on my favorites! I definitely recommend if you like AYCE and sushi, try this place out and compare it. A couple of family members came out from South Carolina with their newborn daughter so we decided to get together for dinner. None of us had been to Kairi before but the reviews looked promising. Tuesday night was rather slow so it was fairly easy to find parking in the busy lot and we were able to be seated right away until the rest of the party arrived. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. A+ for service here. All 9 of us ordered AYCE and prepared to have a feast. I'm happy to report the fish is very fresh and everything we ordered lived up to our expectations. The order form only has 3 columns for a round of food orders but our server was kind enough to let us know we weren't limited to 3 rounds. They would provide a new sheet if necessary. The only limitation are the premium items which are 1 piece per person unless you want to pay for additional servings. They also provide separate sheets so you can divide orders by smaller groups rather trying to figure out who ordered what when the orders start coming out fast and furious. Much easier to keep track of 4 or 5 people than sorting out orders for all 9. Kairi is definitely one of the best AYCE sushi restaurants I have been to and highly recommend it. The prices are extremely reasonable and I love the way the sushi is prepared in a more traditional way with smaller balls of rice and the fish sliced to an appropriate thickness. Food was 4/5 Service was 3/5 I came in today with my sister and we liked the food but the service from a specific server was very bad. We came in and stood by the host stand, waiting for assistance. A male server with light skin, curly hair & apathetic energy walked past us up to the host stand, did not greet us or make eye contact and just said "all you can eat". I was confused by the interaction so I didn't respond but my sister caught on that he was speaking to us. So she answered him. He still didn't say anything or look at us when we followed him to a table. Luckily after he sat us, he didn't come back again. We were helped by a female server who was very kind. It took a bit of time to be greeted and place our order but it was busy and there were only 2 servers so we didn't fuss. When we were walking out, the male server was at the host stand again helping someone. I said thank you as we walked out but we were still ignored, I repeated myself even louder but still no acknowledgment. As for the food, I got the superman burrito and it was really good. I would order it again. I also ordered the spicy tuna and they were pretty fat rolls. Good bang for your buck. My boyfriend and I's favorite date spot!! I love coming here because you can taste how good the quality of the fish is. My favorite thing about this place is how they make the crispy rice; the rice isn't hard to chew or cold, every time we order it the rice is crunchy but fluffy on the inside and warm! while the tuna on top is spicy, flavorful and fresh. Perfectly done. This is our second time coming here and the service is great. Great AYCE lunch deal! My fiancé and I came in to celebrate his landing a new job and we had a lot of fun ordering all the nigiri and rolls we could eat. The seared salmon and eel were my favorite nigiri and I also enjoyed the Washington and Double Shrimp rolls. The cucumber salad tasted a bit like sweet relish, so we probably wouldn't get that again. We did have to remind a waiter that we hadn't yet received two items from the first round when they came to collect our sheet for the second round, but no big deal. Otherwise, the service was pretty good other than the young host who seated us seemed a little grumpy or distracted. But this most recent time it was horrible. Approx 25% of our items never arrived. One of the staff apologized to us saying that the kitchen was backed up. It was hard to flag down staff, it was clear they were understaffed - not the wait staff's fault necessarily. So much time passed between rounds that we became full from the first round. We have never left AYCE sushi feeling unsatisfied until today. Bottom line - Owners need to staff up. The AYCE price is 10-20% less than nearby sushi places. It's a very open space and you don't feel cramped at all. Service was amazing! We were greeted as soon as we walked in. They're very attentive and continuously checked on us throughout dinner! Kairi Sushi replaced what used to be a bullet train sushi restaurant. $40 for AYCE dinner is quite a good deal so I decided to give this place a try. There are a few premium/special items you can only get one per person. I got all of it and they were delicious and premium indeed. The oysters were so fresh and perfect with a squeeze of lemon. All of the premium nigiri were seasoned well and nice and fatty. Now for the bad... the rice was a mushy and not seasoned to my liking and there was quite alot of it for each piece of nigiri. The regular salmon and tuna nigiri was on the lean side for those fishes. I would give this place a 3.5 but I'll round up due to the quick and friendly service as well as there not being a wait on a weekend for lunch or dinner. I'll go here if I want AYCE without a long wait and am willing to sacrifice on taste. Sake2me down the street is better if you're willing to wait. read more

Stopped by Kairi Sushi recently and left pretty disappointed, unfortunately. The appetizers were great and came out fairly quickly. The sushi nigiri itself was decent but not quite on par with other spots in the area. the fish was fine, just not as buttery or well-balanced as I've had elsewhere. What really ruined the experience, though, was the service. After ordering, our main dishes didn't come out for over 30 minutes, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. We checked in with the server, but there wasn't much follow-up or communication about the delay, so we just checked out instead. read more

Did a superhero landing pose into Kairi for the AYCE sushi. Visit felt likean MCU side mission with some wins, some quirks, but overall a good time. The fish was solid. Fresh cuts, and the rice held up well across all the rolls. The menu has range a la Winter Soldier-to-Groot kind of range. But most of the rolls leaned sweeter than we expected . The nigiri has small amount of rice which is good. Premium items are limited to 1 per person. Sashimi is not included and priced separately. Ice cream included at the end of your meal (green tea or vanilla). The only downside I must say is that the employees don't really acknowledge the customers upon entry and when leaving.
