Wow we dropped by this hidden gem unplanned based off all the great reviews it had and so glad we came across it because it has become our favorite spot for Mexican food. What a lovely place, atmosphere was so inviting, our sever Rocio was the best she remained very attentive to our needs and went over amazing foods and drinks suggestions scoring everytime. She was so friendly, kind and accommodating. It was prime time lunch time but we didnt have to wait around. Our dishes were outstanding i ordered the molcajete and it totally exceeded my expectations. Portions are generous. Every side is freshly made not canned not pre made; as well as the aguas frescas. My lemonade was refreshing and well made. Needless to mention their sauces....so yummy. Prices are reasonable. Went here with a high hopes but it did not meet expectations. I ordered the Asada burrito and the meat was terribly dry and chewy. The outside of the burrito was not really grilled so it was just kind of a plain dry tortilla. They're fillings were not good either, the rice are also pretty hard and dry. I didn't enjoy their salsa much which maybe you could've helped to wet the burrito but the whole thing was just a mess. My husband thought his food was only so so and my friend did not enjoy if he needed us very much, with similar comments of the food being dry. Lo gentleman off the streets walking around asking for money restaurant to play some, which was a little uncomfortable as he did linger. The vibe is small and quaint, nothing wrong with it. I've had their ceviche - BOMB! I've had their queso fundido with chirozo with their handmade tortillas - So Good! We went back for their breakfast plates. I had their chilaquiles omlette with salsa encabronada and it did not disappoint! I honestly didn't know what to expect bcs my friend picked the spot. She doesn't like eggs much and I love breakfast foods. I got the chilaquiles, green sauce beef machaca and ordered a side of beans and I wanted to try their handmade corn tortillas that were perfect. I asked for light green sauce bcs I don't do spicy and my Chilaquiles were drenched in the sauce and my eggs that I ordered over easy to medium came over hard. I still tried to enjoy my food, beans with yummy grated cheese and freshly made corn tortillas made it better. Although I had to ask for a side of sour cream to brave through the green sauce, I left most on the chips with sauce on plate. The machaca was interesting, well cooked which I liked but it wasn't mixed with eggs which was a first for me, twas tasty. My coffee that I started with was good and appreciated the 2 cookies that came with it. My friend said her chicken and waffles was 7/10, she said the syrup was lacking... The flan at the end was delicious, loved the caramel touch on there. I understand their under the ownership. This place is a great gem to come across! The atmosphere is great and well decorated, they also have some valentine's day decorations up currently and it was super cute. They have a wonderful brunch menu that I got a chance to order from. The chilaquiles was amazing and the portion was huge I had to take the rest home lol! Also the drinks are very tasty and a bit strong hahah! The owner is a really nice guy and we had a wonderful waitress help us out, shout out Maria! Food was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Wet Burrito with Green Sauce and a hot coffee that had two little Maria cookies on the side. This place was so relaxing and the playlist was immaculate. This is a very nice little restaurant. Parking is a little difficult, but there is plenty of street parking just around the corner. The shrimp cocktail was a little plain, but good. Adding in the salsa Negra and a lime did the trick for me. it was very tasty. The Alas taco was absolutely delicious. with a little bit of chipotle sauce. Super good. The fresh tortilla chips and housemaid salsa were fantastic. Overall a very enjoyable lunch. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. This place is incredible. The aguachiles are fantastic and they have something special going on with the Alas tacos. The Michelada is one of the best I've had. Love how it has the perfect amount of lime. Inside the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and I love the TVs with RedZone football on. Definitely returning. I cannot believe I've missed this place, because we live very close by. I was so pleased to discover such a great restaurant! We tried several menu items: the queso fundido with steak, the Alas tacos, and the fish tacos. First of all, they serve chips while you pause the menu. The salsa verde with those chips is just spicy enough - not enough to blow your head off, but definitely enough to produce a pleasant tingle. Super fresh, too, and can tell with every bite. The queso was also excellent - very rich, and I used that salsa to cut some of that richness, deliciously. Served with homemade corn or flour tortillas, too (we had corn). Next, they brought our tacos. Hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. The Alas tacos come with a slice of avocado atop the mix of steak and shrimp, in those same fresh made tortillas. So flavorful - the steak perfectly carmelized, the shrimp plump and perfectly cooked. The fish tacos are Baja style, fried fillets with a wonderful slaw of cabbage, onions, and mangos! The sauce that came along with them is good on everything! Everything is so fresh and delicious, and the service is warm and attentive without being intrusive. They warn that they are short staffed, but you would never know it. Even if there was a longer wait, I can assure you that it would be 100% with the wait.
