What a great find!!! While going on a deep dive on where to eat this popped up. And I'm so thankful it did. We went here 2 weeks in a row so far and tried a different item each time. The staff is friendly, the food was tasty, and this was an unexpected oasis of delight. My first time I tried the Lomo Saltado, it seemed like a must try for a first experience. And it was excellent. The lunch special started off with a delicious soup and then the meal came out and hello. This was no meager lunch. It was a lunch that was delightful, delicious and I satisfied for the rest of the day. The second journey here I was happy to try something different. I had the Vinita Saltada with beef. I'm a longtime customer of Aji Verdi I normally order online however this time tonight I was in the area so I stopped by went in and ordered, I got the chicken aguadito soup we call it green soup I ordered extra green sauce usually delicious and it didn't disappoint but at the end when my order was brought to me the waitress handed me my food and there was only 2 green sauces and I know I asked for extra she tried to argue me down and tell me that it's $2.00 each so I just took my order and said thank.you plus my food was $23.00 and I gave her a $5.00 TIP. Aji Verde is tucked away in a corner of a strip mall type of place next to the laundry mat with plenty of parking in the parking lot. It's a nice place for families as well as a date night. I saw most of the reviews on yelp were about how good the food was and really wanted to try it with our fellow foodie friends. But our overall experience was not great and that was a bummer for me. But I'll start with what I did like which was the food. The complimentary bread was good and the chicken soup was very flavorful. The fried plantains ( around $6) that my friend ordered were pretty burnt though on all the pieces. The Lomo Saltado ($16.35 plus tax) I ordered was pretty good and with the green sauce it enhanced the flavor. The hubby ordered the pollo saltado ($16.35 plus tax) and he really liked his dish. I definitely would give the food 4 stars. What I didn't like and my friends agreed that the service wasn't good at all. We came on a Sunday evening a few hours before closing. We weren't greeted when we walked in, a lady behind the counter just told to sit down in the corner booth since that's all they had. It took several minutes before she came and gave us menus. Once seated I will say our waitress was good at taking our orders and the time for our food to come out was quickly which I appreciated. But after that no one came to check up on us or ask how the food was, or refill our waters. Maybe 30 min later we finally were asked how the food was but by that time we were just ready for the check and ready to leave. Maybe they were busy or understaffed but I would have liked to be checked up on at least a once or twice after receiving our meal.
