Sweet, kind customer service everytime I visit. I def wanna travel to Peru when I visit here bc of the bright colorful murals and beautiful art all around.. on top of the wonderful flavors that they provide. I need more Peruvian dishes to try because I love getting the same dishes. The waitress suggested medium well for my steak and it was a 9.5/10, I think I shoulda did well done because it was still a lil red and I'm barely getting used to that kinda chew since I grew up vegan. Compared to Polla Inka on Hawthorne and 154th this tallarin comes second with a 8.5/10. I score the pollo inka's steak, pastas & soups 10/10. Easily but it doesn't take from me suggesting to try this spot if you are around.. I'm obsessed with the shrimp chowder and tuna dish. Also their dessert alfajores is yummy.

The reason for the visit was for the Causa Sampler we saw on tik tok. Very disappointed! Potatoes were very salty and no flavor, definitely fooled by advertisement. The Ceviche was delicious by far best ceviche i have ever had in a restaurant setting. The Lucuma always hits the spot so yummy. The Alfajores were the worst ive ever had, it should melt in your mouth not try to break your teeth. Service was awful, our waitress was rude and chewing away at her gum as she spoke to us. Gross! Another person took our order that looked like he was the chef, because our waitress was gossiping with another waitress. The restaurant looked nice but not fit for strollers or wheelchairs space is tight all around.

I'm so mad. I pretty much grew up in Downey, lived her for years as an adult and worked nearby and I just discovered this place. So many years wasted not having the excellent Peruvian food. Everything was delicious. If I have to pick one from this visit, I'd choose the Arroz con Mariscos as the top dish. Don't forget to use the green sauce that's on the table. It does have a kick and I usually can't take it, but I kept going back to it. It was addicting. The service was wonderful and the server was helpful and friendly. I cannot wait to go back. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed. A delightful and comfortable family restaurant

As soon as we walked in the whole group I was with , were greeted and seated at a large table. The waitress asked everyone for their drink order. The service is very prompt. A bread appetizer was set for everyone to enjoy. She made menu suggestions for the ones that have not been here before. It is fairly busy and surprisingly not load at all . It was delicious

Absolutely love Fernando's! They open at 11 but I showed up early one day and they still gave me wonderful service. The Pollo soltado is delicious and the portions are sooo big! I've never been able to finish a plate by myself. The staff is very friendly and the ambience is relaxed. Highly recommend this little gem!

First time having Peruvian food. Fernandos has great food. We ordered the steaks. Cooked to perfection. Inca cola's hit the spot too. Will definitely return. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The menu had so many different options that I had a hard time deciding between the soups, traditional meat dishes, and pasta selections. I ended up ordering a pasta dish that surprisingly had an Asian-inspired flavor profile. It reminded me a bit of Kung Pao chicken with linguini, thanks to the red and green bell peppers, onions, and a nice kick of spice. It was delicious, especially with the house-made green salsa they served on the side. I also ordered a side of rice and beans, and although I passed on the plantains since I was dining solo, the server kindly brought me a sample, which was such a thoughtful touch. This is a cozy, mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall spot with a mix of two- and four-top tables. Parking was easy, and I found a space right in front. I stopped by just before closing, and there were still a few people enjoying dinner. Expect to spend around $30 per person. Overall, I enjoyed the food and friendly service, and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

It was a hole in the wall and had relatively good reviews for lomo saltado so I had my hopes up thinking the food would be amazing. My chief complaint is that it took almost 30 minutes for my single order to come out because the kitchen was busy prioritizing to-go/delivery orders. Had I known this, I wouldn't have eaten inside the restaurant; I would've actually gotten it delivered. My next complaint is that no receipt was given as customer copy, and no itemized receipt when asking for tip. The total for this dish came out to almost $30 including tip, and the waitress/cashier didn't mention the lunch special at all. I brought it up to ask about it after I paid, to which she replied, "Oh, you probably don't want that cuz it's smaller. But it comes with a drink and soup." The fact that she assumed I wouldn't want the lunch special (when I'm there at lunch time) that would've been a much better deal at $17.99 and perfect portion size for me, and yet charged me for the regular dinner price was a bit presumptuous. It's also weird that they would ask for a tip (which I gave anyway) before I even received my meal. It's less about the price but the principle! But I was just hungry and needed to go to my next appointment, so I didn't argue, but again, the food took way too long to come out so I had to ask her about it after the 25 minute mark. Food came out after 30 minutes, and I had to get up and ask for the aji verde sauce when most restaurants usually serve it to you with the meal. The aji verde sauce which is really important to me to complement this dish, unfortunately missed the mark as well. I really missed Sol Inka's aji verde sauce that's well-rounded in every way. Lomo saltado should be balanced between the meat, tomatoes, onions, and fries, but it was definitely heavy on the fries with only two pieces of tomatoes. I would've preferred more meat too if it's the regular plate, but it felt like a fries dump. I wouldn't have had complaints if this were the lunch special order. Anyways, if you don't mind the headache & having to be extra proactive to get what you want, this is the place to be, but it's definitely not my cup of tea. $30 for a sub-par lomo saltado where well over half of it is fries does not sit well with me, considering I waited 30 minutes for my meal. Unfortunately, I'd just have to stick to Sol Inka for my regular Peruvian food fix, as the flavor is more robust there anyways. Oh, and Sol Inka also gives complimentary warm bread and butter, while there isn't anything like that here.

Cute, clean atmosphere - the owner was nice enough to chat with us and introduce us to some menu items. Highly recommend the Ceviche Mixto to start, and the Lomo Saltado to share all around. For dessert, I loved the Lucuma fruit based ice cream which kinda had a light but sweet maple-butterscotch flavor. Would come back again!

Waiting time for food was almost an hour which I didn't mind because I understood we were a lot of people . I asked for lomo saltado - sadly The flavor was not good - Too much seasoning and the meat was not salteado , it was more like the meat got boiled . I only ate the fries and onion . I told my husband and he was more like just eat it - so yes , I ate just the fries and onion . The green sauce for sure was really tasty and delicious. I don't knw but the salteado was not it . Not very appetizing. Also I noticed some trash like straw paper under the table. There was no one there before me so they must not have swept before closing the night before. The tables were also sticky, and the overall interior was dated. No other customers came the whole time we were there during peak lunch time. My niece and I decided to share the Leche de Tigre ($21.99) and a Lomo Saltado ($19.99). The food came out in a decent amount of time. The leche de tigre was decent but the chips it came with were stale and insufficient in ratio of how much leche de tigre there was. The portion size was more than what we wanted to eat. The menu showed they used to have a smaller size and that would have been better for us. The lomo saltado is the most disappointing of all. This is typically a Peruvian restaurant main dish so I wanted my niece to try it, but this was such a bad first impression of Peruvian cuisine. The beef was tough and the flavor was forgettable. The fries were... edible. I didn't care for the rice. We barely touched it. We were so excited to come here and we left pretty disappointed with our appetites spoiled. Not recommended.
