We came almost 30 minutes before they closed and the employees were still very welcoming. We did not feel rushed at all and they still had music so it felt pretty chill. We ordered 2 Wet burritos one carnitas and one asada. They were both very tasty and cheesy ! The burrito salsa was a little to salty for my liking but it still didn't overpower the other flavors. I'm giving 3 stars because the enchiladas were tasty. I ordered the enchiladas dinner and 2 pollo tamales from here through Uber Eats. My tamales were wrong and not t what I ordered, they drenched my salad in salad dressing, it was unedible. They dumped my rice on top of my enchiladas so it was all melted into the cheese. I have to be honest, I was really surprised by the overall review of this little place. I've been coming to this little gem for years, tucked away in this easy to miss shopping center. It was averaged sized, possibly understaffed, but they definitely take care of you. They bring out a bowl of chips and salsa and take your order for water right away. The iced tea here is to die for! My boyfriend ordered water, but as soon as he had a sip from my cup of iced tea he was sold on it! My mom comes here often and she recommended the caldo Tlalpeyño, which is rich chicken soup with chile chipotle, hearty pieces of avocado, garbanzos&cheese, rice and handmade corn tortillas. On previous occasion I've had their tacos, caldo de res, and milanesa all which I also enjoyed. Julio, the chef, is also always willing to remove things from your order that you don't like. The staff is always amicable, they may not always be quick but they are always kinds. I don't usually give out 5 stars but this hole in the wall definitely deserves it. I love the menudo at this place. However, you have to come early in the morning before it runs out. This locale is usually clean and the service is fast. The prices are also low. I would recommend it. Despite there only being one waitress per shift their service is great. No complains! read more

We had high expectations for this restaurant since it has great reviews on yelp. But it was just OK. No reason to say it was horrible because it wasn't. Just not what we expected. I've been here a few times, I thought I should try it a few times before writing a review and sadly it isn't great. They have taquizas outside in the night where they sell all kinds of tacos. This would be awesome but their tacos (asada) aren't all that great. That isn't the reason for the low rating tho. The service is incredibly slow, if there is a crowd she still takes her sweet time. The rating say's it all. I live down the steet and my father went to go get me something to eat. He came back with food from here. He bought me a torta de asada, fries, and a coke. $9.64 later... I wasn't impressed. The torta is small, and the meat wasn't seasoned well. It was kind of bland. The fries were all right. I wouldn't come here again... You can go down the street and for that same price you'll taste something more authentic. Totall dissapointed!! read more

I love this restaurant!!! The food is pretty delicious, and the service is great! The people are so friendly and welcoming that it's such a pleasure to go. The best BEST thing to eat are the tacos by far! They sell them on Fri, Sat and Sun nights from about 6pm on and they have several kinds of meat. Your usual Carne Asada, and Carnitas, but they also have Lengua, cabeza and my personal FAVORITE is the pastor. I dont know what they do to their particular seasoning, but it is so good! I have to throw a shout out to this restaurant. It's my man's and my #1 place to go to for chiles renenos (sorry if I spelled it wrong.) Chiles renenos are my bf's favorite, he is mexican, and he tries them everywhere we go, and he says this place has the best ones. I'm not a fan of them, but I love the ones here. Go just for them. I've also had the enchiladas mole (very good-spicy), and reg. red enchiladas (also yum). Go and support this hole in the strip mall-the owner is SSOOO nice and I don't want to see this place go out of business! Plusses-the entrees are bomb. Can't complain about them. The beans and rice are also very good, great flavor! Minuses-chips and salsa really suck. Also no exception here-you get a watery starter salad! Nice local spot, has a ton of variety when it comes to Mexican dishes. Besides that, they have a taquiza (in essence outdoor street taco stand) every Friday through Sunday from 7 to 11. My only knock on them is their salsa, I usually like mine way spicier. So if you're not a fan of heat feel free to pour it on. All in all, great to stop in for a quick bite. read more

I live in South Gate (Hollydale) and my family and I visit this restaurant regularly. I am Mexican and the majority of the dishes are very close to how my mom prepares them at home. I recommend the flautas and my family loves the mole. More importantly, Latinos in general should support the local business in our communities. We usually have to go out of the area to find a good place to eat and I am happy to have a restaurant that I can visit where the meals don't taste like fast food. read more
