I ate here two days ago, and if I could give this place zero stars, I would. The food was nasty, and the sauce was extremely oily with little to no flavor. We paid over $200 expecting it to be delicious considering the price, but it was a huge disappointment. I'm genuinely confused as to why they haven't changed the way they make their sauces when so many reviews are saying the same thing about the lack of flavor. I have never had seafood that tasted like that, and unfortunately, that wasn't even the worst part. A few hours after eating, I became extremely sick and experienced what seemed to be mild food poisoning. I was throwing up seafood for hours and had severe stomach cramps afterward. It honestly felt like the food barely digested. Based on my experience, I would not recommend eating here. If you decide to eat here, stick to something simple like fries or chicken strips. read more

This is a mom and pop shop, literally what differentiates them from big food chains. So welcoming, catering to our needs, and friendly. I couldn't finish my food they are generous with their shrimp. During my visit to this establishment on April 7, 2025, I was deeply disappointed by the quality of the food and beverages served. While I had previously visited this location at night and had consistently received excellent service and delectable food and cocktails, this particular experience was significantly lacking. The food lacked flavor, and the cocktails tasted excessively sweet. Despite the exceptional service, we ordered the same items each time, and our bill consistently exceeded $60. Not quite 4 star but somewhat close. Flavor is good staff if friendly. Ordering a bit weird you have to make all your decisions at the kiosk which takes away the dine in experience a bit. Seafood quality isn't bad slightly underwhelmed with consistency of shrimp. Overall pretty solid wouldnt be too disappointed with food and service but paying before factoring the experience and quality a little deceiving. Seasoning good enough to come back just not sure I'd spend a premium compared to competitors. Return is more out of convenience than preference but not bad where we can't give another shot my daughter liked the place so definitely deserves acknowledgement read more

Was craving a seafood boil and wanted to try a new spot. The Cajun Crab didn't really hit the spot for me only because I like a seafood boil with a bold sauce taste and this one was very mild if any sauce at all. Everything as far as the seafood is good and cooked really really well. But what I was looking for was some great butter sauce or your classic seafood boil sauce like you would get at a boiling crab or rockin Cajun and they just didn't hit that on here for me. They only had one guy working this day. He was very nice, very friendly. It was a slow lunch hour when we decided to go so that's cool. Overall i recommend other places if you're looking for the best sauce with your seafood boil. read more

I usually like to support local businesses. But this is why i rather drive miles away for better service and food. I wanted to support this place because its close to my house. Big mistake. The owner or whoever took our order had no personality. He was rude and just BLAH. I spent over 80 on a basic sea food boil with no crab legs. I basically got shrimp and muscles. The food was super oily, and no flavor.. im all about the sauce. And this sauce was MID. No flavor and oily. On top of that you would think we would get refills on our sodas? Yeah right. They charge 2 dollars for refills. Terrible Terrible. Will NOT be coming here again. Taking my butt back to HOT N JUICY in Fountain Valley. read more

this was amazing. we saw the average rating was a 3.5 star, but wanted to try anyway. after our experience we did not know why it was ranked so low the food was great and the customer service was even better. we went around 12:30-1-30pm on a tuesday, so there was no wait. we ordered a $50 3LBS shrimp combo (which is crazy cheap compared to other places) and tried their specialty sauce which was so good. we made sure to ask questions when ordering and they were happy to answer which was great. anytime we needed refills on anything (limes, water, seasons, etc) they were happy to bring it. we left a $20 tip to our server the whole meal was delicious read more

Went on a Friday afternoon, not busy at all. Quick order, friendly customer service. Lady taking my order was very pleasant, offered me complimentary water as I waited. I got 1 & 1/2 lbs of head on shrimps, 1/2 lbs of potatoes & 2 corns. Very delicious very well flavored, not too spicy. At it w/ white rice. Definitely recommend. read more

To each their own... Taste buds are different. I was bored so I started reading about my favorite restaurants and the reviews. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I had to say something about it. It took me years to find a Seafood place with a Great Sauce. I Learn and educate by asking about how the food is made. The lady chef/ server Polly and Owner Melody is always so helpful. The Cajun Crab is different from others. ( no vinegar or lime juice in the sauce, because it's Made to Order and it's fresh.) They Saute the Sauce to Order... Bong Sauce is best, if you don't want garlic in it...let them know. THEY will make it without. (It's Not oily because it's Not sautéed in oil.) Lots of the seasoning at the bottom. Great to put on rice. The Bong Sauce is their specialty, because I saw people coming in just to BUY the Bong sauce to go. Now, I have an 8 oz Bong Sauce in my freezer. I USE that for my rice. It's a Small business,who cares about NO free soda refill...I have water. all reviews are helpful. Bad, good, great, all helps with the foods greatness and the staff being friendly or helpful. I saw this establishment on my way to run errands. I decided to order after reading a few Yelp reviews. The restaurant had one customer that I could see and one customer ordering. The female employee assisted me with using the touchscreen kiosk to place my order. She was patient and nice. I ordered a shrimp bag, head on, and mild combo seasoning. I added, potatoes, corn and sausage to the bag. My order probably was ready in 15 minutes. A lady brought it to me from the kitchen and smiled as she handed it to me. I asked for butcher paper since I was taking it home. The flavor of the food was delicious!! I've been to a lot of these seafood restaurants. This one will be my new favorite. My only negative, and reason for 4 stars, I wasn't given an option to use the kiosk or have my order taken by a human. I was charged a (small) convenience fee for ordering via the kiosk. read more

The Cajun crab has the BEST, most flavorful Sauce, their house sauce/ seasoning is my favorite. The food here is amazing. The service is quick & friendly. They offer a bib, gloves , extra napkins if needed to go. Dine in is full of good energy & positive vibes . Their restaurant is always clean , as well as their bathrooms. I would not send my worst enemy here. Sorry. Not sorry. Go at your own risk!!!!!!! My wife wanted Cajun shrimp and we happened to be in the area. I SAID LETS JUST GO TO THE KICKING CRAB. But noooooooool. She said let's just try this place. THEY SAIS "It's supposed to be good". I have no idea who the hell is "they". And why "they" would say that to my wife. "They". Please stop talking to my wife!!!!! I gave in and said fine go ahead and order. She tried calling in and the girl said, "we don't take phone orders. You have to order online." My wife ordered thru YELP, and I guess it processed thru Grub Hub. Big mistake. We paid surcharges, like $8 freaking dollars when we are picking up ourselves. Horrible. Arrived to pick up and there is one. One. One. Yes Just one. Asian girl to help EVERY customer coming thru the door. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against Asians. And I am totally AAIP FRIENDLY. But this chick needs some help. Asian. Mexican. American. Dominican. Native American. Somebody. Anybody. Someone. Help help!!!!!! Or better yet just go to the Kicking Crab down the street on Alondra and Paramount. I ordered through yelp for pickup but you can also dine in since they have outdoor seating. I ordered a lb of clams and 2 lbs of shrimp with corn. The service was great and the lady that helped us was very helpful. I always have craving for seafood and this place is my go to. There's other seafood places near this place that I've been to but the flavor here is the best. The cajun and 3 sauces are so good combined, it's not too salty like other places. Plus the shrimp here are actually big! I use to come here before covid too and really miss dining in. read more

Well, we ordered snow crab, shrimp, scallops and crawfish. Everything was good. Went with the special seasoning and medium heat. Food came in an acceptable timeframe and was hot and delicious. Only thing I had a problem with was the music. It was folksy Christian music, and it was full of piano and guilt. I was craving some cajun food and found this local spot. Put in an order for takeout and my food was ready in 10 minutes. Ordered 1.5 lbs of shrimp with the house special sauce/extra garlic with some corn/potatoes tossed in plus cajun fries on the side. The mix came out great and there was plenty of sauce in my bag to dip my fries in. Craving fulfilled! I went with medium spiciness and the heat level wasn't bad at all so I'll definitely up the spice level next time I eat here. read more

Came here with my son yesterday afternoon, since I was in the area. The inside was neat and we were the only ones in there. Ordered shrimp, potatoes and sausage with the house seasoning and ordered it spicy. I thought it was a bit odd that a place like that makes you order and pay at the counter. Anyway, the bag was beyond oily, and I felt it lacked ingredients in the mix of the oil/butter.. whatever was used. I'm used to places like Boiling Crab or Stinkin Crawfish where it is a little runny and has ton of seasoning and garlic in the mix. It wasn't terrible, and the spiciness was just perfect. So I pulled up to the wrong place but once I finally got here I like the aesthetic and I also like the fact that the service wasn't slow at all I waited a fair amount of time for my food and to be seated and once I got the food I was in heaven the taste of the sauce is this amazing in the food itself all together is wonderful. Though the crabs were hard to crack without scissors they still were enjoyable. The only thing I will say is that they forgot my sausages but once we reported that there were no sausages they put a sausage Into the sauce that we were using for our bag and brought it right out as soon as it was done and the meal was still complete. After I left this place I was damn near telling everyone they should try it read more

Unfortunately, the food was average at best. The chicken was well-seasoned and cooked properly, but the portion sizes were noticeably smaller than expected. We ordered a crawfish bowl and a wing dinner with two side pairings, and, surprisingly, the Kool-Aid was the highlight of the meal. One final frustration came when paying with cash: we were informed that customers are expected to provide exact change because the restaurant does not keep cash on hand. That policy created an unnecessary inconvenience and left a poor final impression. Since the delay was the result of an incorrect order, my daughter asked if she could at least receive fresh fries while waiting. Marisol told her she would have to pay extra for fresh fries. Marisol also claimed that she had repeated the order back over the phone when it was originally placed. That simply isn't true. She rushed my daughter off the phone, saying she'd see her in 15 minutes, without reviewing the order. We've continued to support A&J's because the food is consistently excellent, but experiences like this make it harder to keep coming back. Great food can only go so far when customers are made to feel dismissed instead of valued. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides additional customer service training so loyal customers receive the experience they deserve.

When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

The tall male server that works here is a complete asshole! I walked in the restaurant to place a to go order for my group of ten. After waiting a few minutes a young lady finally acknowledged me the rude server cuts her off in the middle of asking me what I would like to order and tells me I would have to wait for her to clean tables and seat guests before they will take my order. Then he tells me what does it matter if I wait since I have to wait for my food. I proceed to call in to speak with a manager after leaving and the rude ass man hangs up in my face. Do not order online!!!! The order will not go through and the workers will act like it's your fault !!! They will be rude about it and tell you that you can't get a refund after you have paid online for your order read more

If I had to choose between Boiling crab and Cajun crab I would definitely choose Cajun crab they treat me like family, they have excellent service !!!! And they have more options on there menu! read more

He accepted full payment, and did not provide the services promised. To date, he has not refunded our money. We hired him to cater a major school fundraising event with approximately 300 attendees. Just thirty minutes before the scheduled food delivery--despite his kitchen being only a few minutes away--he called to claim he had been in a car accident. Because of his failure to deliver on his commitment, we were forced to scramble at the last minute and purchased pizzas from Costco at the last minute to avoid disappointing our students and families. Following this, we made numerous attempts to contact him through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits to obtain a refund. Instead, he closed his business at that location without notice and moved elsewhere. After locating his new establishment and visiting in person, he still refused to return the funds, stating he was waiting for reimbursement from an insurance company. We offered to work with him for a repayment plan and when asked for documentation of the alleged accident, he was unable to provide any evidence of a claim. This was not a private event--it was a fundraiser for our elementary school. It is extremely disheartening that someone would choose to take advantage of a school community in this way. Given this horrible experience, I STRONGLY advise against booking any catering services with him.
