I am only reviewing the restaurant and not the neighborhood. Experience and food at the restaurant is five stars. Unfortunately LA's leadership and Gavin Newsom's destroyal of California have created this once trendy and beautiful street into a drug den. Do yourself a favor and don't sit next to the window. You'll see naked homeless people everywhere doing drug deals. Service was wonderful, and we don't blame the management at all. Makes me so sad. Vote differently, LA!

Pleasantly surprised here This locale has been here for decades Glad we finally tried it Large menu but has great clam chowder, beautiful salad. Had a company lunch here and ordered the steak & lobster combo, along with an assortment of a dozen oysters. The presentation on the oyster tray was phenomenal. My favorite was the Fried Farm-raised Willapa Bay oysters Overall, the lobster was the standout -- very tasty and well-prepared, especially with the butter and sides like zucchini and asparagus. The steak, however, was a bit underwhelming and on the smaller side compared to expectations. Portion-wise, it was okay, but not amazing value. Still a solid meal overall and enjoyable for a work lunch.

    Dozen Kumamotos...super good.

We come here whenever we're craving fresh oysters--they always have the best variety. Kumamotos are our favorite, and they did not disappoint. Since soft‑shell crab is in season, I ordered that, and it was fried perfectly. My guests enjoyed the Fisherman's Platter and the Chilean sea bass, both of which they loved. We also appreciated the friendly service, and the open‑window setup made it feel like alfresco dining without actually sitting on the sidewalk. Overall, we had a really pleasant experience and will definitely be back when we're in the area.

Stopped by for an early dinner after a birthday celebration at the Aquarium. I was so ready to eat so I'm glad it was within walking distance. We were seated as soon as we arrived. Our server was Jazmin and she was wonderful! I ordered the fish & chips, and the fish was delicious! The portion size was also perfect. My boyfriend loved his beet salad & blackened ono sandwich. Jazmin was so kind and brought us a bread pudding to help celebrate! Overall we had a great experience.

We love King's Fish House. There are a few of them, but this one is our favorite and we go every time we are in Long Beach. It is just the best of everything, from their service to the seafood and their beautiful location. It is never crowded when we go, but we tend to stick to off hours. I would suggest a reservation for evenings. The place is large so it can hold a lot of people, but it is also very popular. I consider this a fine dinning place although I see lots of people in shorts and tees. But, whatever. It is pricey so I consider it a special place to go. The prices are worth it and not out of line with other great seafood houses. This is not a place for a vegan or vegetarian, but they do have great salads. All of the food is great. We love their fish and chips and all of their entrees are great. They have the best halibut in town. The place is so pretty. It is comfortable and has nice lighting and cute décor. There is not a bad seat in the house. The service is excellent. The staff will take great care of you and they are super nice. Their desserts are also good, especially, their key lime pie. The raw bar is wonderful. There is just not a bad thing to order here.

We attended a private birthday lunch for my husband's grandmother (3/14/26). It was our first time here and found the restaurant to be very upscale, yet, relaxing enough to come in with a pair of shorts. We were greeted promptly as we arrived. My husband asked about the Hubb parking discount QR. They quickly showed it to receive the discounted parking rate (it didn't apply in our case since the celebration lasted over 2.5 hours). The private dining room was located in the back between the male and female restrooms. Our server Shauna was absolutely super. She was warm, friendly and catered to the adults and the kids. She even offered to have the kids choose their entrees first so they wouldn't be fussy. Very thoughtful gesture. She showed them kindness and respect during the entire service. She even entertained them with fun tattoos. The kids menu activity also kept them busy. Our cups were never empty and she always made sure everything was made and served to our liking. When it was time to package things up, she also took the time to make sure everyone's to go order was divvied up in the correct bags. She provided a fantastic meal service with a warm smile throughout. We really appreciated her. The clam chowder was good. The garden salad was fresh and the vinegarette dressing was perfect. The calamari was nicely battered. Dips were good. Artichokes were cooked well. Crabs cakes looked nice but we didn't eat them. Warm sourdough bread was served with nice soft butter. The sirloin steaks was cooked to our request and the sides of mash and spinach/ rainbow carrots were good. Kids cheeseburger on point. Kids chicken tenders were fancy. We had a cousin who is strict vegan and the manager came to speak with her directly to create a personalized entree. It came out beautiful and tasted great per her report. After we enjoyed our lunch, it was time for dessert. I chose the key like pie and my husband chose the chocolate cake. Key lime pie was double the regular slice and we had to take it to go. Very tart with a nice crust. Chocolate cake was rich. After the meal was finished, the kids went out the back doors which lead to an outdoor patio area for the hubb. The four grandkids had a blast running around outside. We had a great experience. We greatly enjoyed the food, and Shauna made the experience even better with her phenomenal hospitality. Big shout out to her! Thank you, we will be back.

Delicious food excellent service! Kings Fish House on Pine Avenue in Long Beach has a South Beach/New York vibe. The interior is classy, sexy, and chic. You're greeted by the maître D who escorts you to your table. Angel was our server. He was attentive and wonderful at helping us choose menu items for our table that specifically we would love. After taking our appetizer and drink selections, he arrived back and helped us choose entrées with the different rundown of sides. Which all looked delicious. Andrew was really cool. He kept bringing us bread because it was so yummy. You have to get the sourdough it's warm and with the butter it hits a spot! I definitely recommend dipping the bread in the clam chowder soup, which was unbelievable. At the end, Angel brought us a slice of Keylime pie to wish me happy birthday. Angel you are amazing thank you very much for a really fun experience at the restaurant.. If you're looking for a really cool spot with delicious food and great ambience with an excellent vibe check out King's Fish House on Pine Avenue in Long Beach. This restaurant gets my five star review and my personal recommendation! Bon appétit

A Friday night at the end of Jan; after arriving to LA we checked in to our hotel (Hotel Royal) and strolled down the street to find dinner. We thought there might not be seating available on a Friday night but the host was able to fit us in! The host, our server, the bartender, and other staff we encountered while here were so friendly and engaging. We felt like we were regulars! We ordered our usually drink of choice - a classic Negroni. Yum! The first food item we ordered was the oyster sampler. Man, was this amazing!!!! It was such a great selection. There were 6 different varieties that allowed you to taste some saltier ones, some sweeter, some much smaller, and some oysters that were large! It was fantastic being able to try the different kinds. There were two of each of the 6 varieties so it worked perfectly for us. We decided our favorites were: Hama Hama, Kumamoto, James River, Barcat, and Rappahannock. Which I guess means we didn't prefer the Rincon de Ballenas as much as the others!!! Although they were still good we just wouldn't order a dozen of them. They were served with freshly grated horseradish, habanero relish, mignonette, and cocktail sauce. I may have got the relish wrong, it might have been jalapeño, either way it wasn't too spicy and it was very tasty with a hint of sweetness. While enjoying our meal a lady from the marketing team came up and asked if we'd like a free drink. It was their new cocktail which was not on the menu yet. They were taking photos of it for the website and she said she didn't want to waste it so she let us try it out! Sooo good!!! Very refreshing and light. It was called Pure Intention. Next our main course came out. We ordered the Cioppino and the Live Wild Dungeness Crab. The cioppino was fantastic. I was excited ordering this because my boyfriend didn't know what cioppino was and I love it! It was just as expected - fantastic!!!!! I was also very excited about the Dungeness crab but unfortunately that was a bit of a disappointment. It looked fantastic when it arrived at the table. Great presentation on the plate, but upon cracking into it I was greeted with a dry almost grainy texture to the meat. I've eaten a lot of Dungeness crab in my lifetime especially when I was living in Northern California and we were trapping them during season so I was very disappointed that the crab at dinner was not reminiscent of those crab days. It was overcooked or it had been frozen, or both(even though the menu says Live). It did not pull out of the shell easily and really just felt dry. I didn't want to complain to the server because I had a really incredible time and everything else was spectacular but my boyfriend insisted saying that it would inform the kitchen so the next person ordering it wouldn't have the same issue. Our server took the complaint well and was very kind. She took it off our bill and she offered us a free dessert! We chose their most popular dessert choice, Hooked on Butter Cake. Delicious! You have to get it if you go here! So good! Mouth watering right now thinking of it.

Really good. We enjoyed sitting with the windows open at the table. A gorgeous day. The Shrimp and oysters were fresh. Disappointed to learn they didn't have King Crab legs....something to do with "pricing". The Poke salad was a bit on the spicy side and overwhelmed the dish. The fish was good but missed on flavor and the potatoes seemed more instant but we enjoyed the Brussel sprouts. Crisp and tasty. Service was good.

Two of each type of oyster

Dined here with a friend a few hours ago and had the absolute best experience. We sampled each of their oysters (the wildcat was by far our favorite!) and enjoyed several cocktails, each one as delicious as the last. For me, the highlight of our meal was the service from Kylee: from start to finish she was incredibly personable, kind, and attentive without being overbearing... she provided the level of service i aspire to bring to my own guests as a waitress myself. Everything was amazing, from the host to the ambiance, even the bathrooms were impeccable. Ironically, there is a King's across the street from where I am located in Huntington, but my experience here was superior to the point where I'll be coming back to this location despite the drive. Thank you so much again for the wonderful time :-)

Came here before a zombie rave at the queen mary. We got oysters, fish and chips and the bbq shrimp. Everything we ate so so yummy! The restaurant was clean and the staff was so nice! We were dressed a little crazy but the staff was so respectful and made us feel welcome!

    Buffalo Wings 8.5/10
    Mike S.

Over the past two months, my family and I have eaten at King's Fish House on Pine three times. We keep coming back because our first visit was such a great experience, and the food was amazing. We consistently order the buffalo wings as an appetizer, and they're a solid 8 out of 10. I love that they bring out a steel bowl for the bones...such a simple but thoughtful touch. My mom is a big fan of the blue cheese dressing, and I have to agree, it's pretty good. The clam chowder also deserves a shout-out. We'd give it a 9 out of 10. It has a great balance of clams and potatoes, the consistency is perfect, and it's not fishy at all...just the right depth of flavor. As for the entrées, they've been a bit hit or miss, which is disappointing in terms of consistency. My dad has ordered the trout three times. The first time it was perfectly cooked, but the second and third times it came out overly dry. The mashed potatoes followed a similar pattern....amazing and extra creamy the first time, but colder and with a different texture on the last two visits. That said, we do plan to continue coming back. Hopefully the kitchen can improve consistency, but overall the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is great, and I would definitely recommend this place.

Steve made the best drink I've EVER had!

Parking is a bit of a game of chance thanks to the tiny lot, so plan accordingly. Once you're inside though, the restaurant is super clean, modern, and the service is fast and attentive. We started with the papaya salad. It was just okay--I'm still trying to figure out why there was a blanket of romaine lettuce casually lounging on top. I ordered medium spice, which turned out to be "medium if you breathe fire for fun." The papaya was also a little more raw than I personally like. The tom kha soup was decent, but the real MVP was the drunken noodles with beef. Those noodles were absolutely swimming in savory goodness and perfectly soft. I would've happily ordered a second plate and called it "dessert." Overall, I'd definitely come back--mostly because those drunken noodles are already living rent-free in my head.

My family and I were heading to the Aquarium of the Pacific and wanted to find a good dinner spot…read morenearby afterward. I came across this place on TikTok because of their famous Thai tea popsicle, so naturally I had high hopes. First off, we got incredibly lucky with parking. I can definitely see how parking could be a nightmare since the lot is tiny, so consider finding a spot part of the dining experience. When we arrived, the inside was cute and seemed clean. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

It is always very clean and the staff is really great at taking care of their customers. I would definitely recommend this spot for lunch, dinner, or even just some drinks at the bar.

I had the fried chicken sammich with fries that were cooked perfectly!! We were a party of four with two appetizers (artichokes and tartar I think) and four entrees. A couple of us took leftovers so the portions were good. The tables are all very close - someone with a disability needs to be extra careful navigating through safely.

Unfortunately, one employee, Marisol, consistently provides poor customer service. She comes across as combative, takes no accountability for mistakes, and makes resolving simple issues unnecessarily difficult. My daughter called in our usual order for pickup. When she arrived, she immediately noticed something was wrong because the total was much lower than expected. When she politely brought it to Marisol's attention, instead of acknowledging that there may have been a mistake, Marisol insisted the order had never been placed that way. She then asked my daughter if she wanted to order the missing item while she was already there to pick up her food, which would require waiting another 15 minutes. Since the delay was the result of an incorrect order, my daughter asked if she could at least receive fresh fries while waiting. Marisol told her she would have to pay extra for fresh fries. Marisol also claimed that she had repeated the order back over the phone when it was originally placed. That simply isn't true. She rushed my daughter off the phone, saying she'd see her in 15 minutes, without reviewing the order. We've continued to support A&J's because the food is consistently excellent, but experiences like this make it harder to keep coming back. Great food can only go so far when customers are made to feel dismissed instead of valued. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides additional customer service training so loyal customers receive the experience they deserve.

This place popped up, and it was happy hour. So we thought why not. We got lucky and found parking close (rare for that street). And walked over and immediately loved the vibe. We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. I will say that the prices are a bit steep for me. Very glad we came during the happy hour. But really want to return to try the food and more drinks. Maybe on a special date night out!

If you want fresh seafood at a reasonable price, this is the spot. For first timers we took it easy. I went with the fried fish and scallops. My wife chose the fried fish, shrimp and scallops. Besides fried product, they also have a grilled option. They offer outside seating, picnic style. It's not a fancy seafood spot. Went on Sunday for a quick brunch. Ordered grilled halibut plate, wife ordered fish and scallops, topped it off with a clam chowder and two sodas. Total came out to be around 65$. Clam chowder had minimal clams and mainly thick soup base. So unless you think those YouTubers are coming there to say nice things, edit the video, and then post it so they can make content money. Ellie's is one of the few places where I like every item from their menu. I am lazy to look for other food pics from Ellie's so here are three pics from my most recent visit. My favorite that is not pictured is the gnocchi. I crave it so often, I try to replicate it until I return back to Ellie's For the price, this place is $$$. Especially because when you are having a rich pasta, you MUST get the wine to go with it. Everything from here does add up but it's worth every obstacle (centralizing theme within this review). Servers are amazing and beautiful people. They are always in a genuine great mood that makes the dining experience great. Though the inside of the restaurant is small, there is plenty of tables on its patio. The patio is on the sidewalk, which I normally hate because restaurants typically lack in service and ambience when seated outside. Not for Ellie's, service and ambience is even better outside. I find it too stuffy and crowded inside the restaurant.

Although it's expected that the prices aren't the cheapest. When I heard that they have a Happy Hour, I thought it was a good chance to go back and try other stuff on the menu. We had half a dozen raw oysters, mini fish and chips, and the crunchy roll bowl to share (for two people). Everything was really good!! The oysters were fresh, fish and chips were really good (I just realized it's their most popular dish, no wonder!), and the crunchy roll bowl is like a tempura sushi roll in a bowl. Portions were small-ish as expected for the price, but still really good to enjoy several different dishes that they have. The waiters and host were really nice too. I think it could've been faster if we didn't bring a dog and opted to sit inside instead. Definitely recommend to stop by whenever anyone is walking around the area. I will come back and try their other plates!
