Located right on the harbor. The views are incredible. There is complimentary parking up to 3 hours too. This was a happy surprise since the restaurant has a prime location. We were seated at our table which was outside and right next to the window. Our waitress was Hillary and she was so cheerful and kind. She was such a great server! We started off with the trio which comes with Brussel sprouts, calamari, and shrimp. It was nice to have a sample platter. For dinner I ordered the seabass and my party ordered the halibut. The halibut was the way to go! Wowee. So delicious! For dessert, we ordered the mud pie schooner to share! So good. It was so hard to share.

I've been coming to the Boathouse for many years. Learned they no longer offer crab legs....my absolute favorite. The Shrimp was served beautifully but was warm to the touch and the Cocktail sauce was nothing more than ketchup...even after attempts to add horseradish and lemon juice. The ceviche lacked flavor...needed lime juice and Cilantro. The Spicy Alamitos roll was good but needed Ponzu sauce. We ordered another one and asked for ponzu sauce. It was the highlight of the meal. We opted to pass on main entrees. Service was slow..pleasant but Slow. A big miss overall tonight. Something has changed...if you look at my previous reviews I was a huge fan.

4 top table for a party of 6 (all adults)

Initially deleted the review as I emailed boathouse directly to see what they would say, but of course, did not hear back. I'm highly disappointed in their lack of reply along with the lack of training when it comes to coordination of tables. We reserved a table for 6 to celebrate a birthday 4 weeks in advance. When taken to our table, they sat us at a 4-top with one side being up against the wall and placing two chairs at the end of the table blocking the walkway. Felt incredibly tight for 6 adults and a bit of a fire hazard. When addressed with the hostess she knew exactly what we were talking about and even said "it's a bit tight, huh?" Why are you asking if you already knew? Also, why seat us there when there were other open tables that needed to be bussed? we would have happily waited instead of having a poor first impression. Food was good for what it was no complaints there. Ultimately the attentiveness of our server was low, we had to ask multiple people for utensils or napkins but server nowhere to be found. My last observation is in regards to cleanliness. This place lacks that especially in the women's restroom. Trash everywhere and overflowing and the toilet paper for you to use was not on the toilet paper holder but actually on the floor. Beyond unsanitary! Photos for reference. Quite the bummer. I wanted to give them the opportunity for some sort of redemption, but they were unable to do so.

Worth the Pay at The Boathouse on the Bay I visited The Boathouse on the Bay on a Saturday night around 7:30 PM. Even though I was dining solo, I made a reservation, and I'm glad I did because this place was packed. Reservations are an absolute must. I sat outside, and even though the weather was cold, I honestly didn't feel it because they had plenty of outdoor heat lamps throughout the patio. The ambiance was truly stunning: warm lighting, upscale energy, and a romantic feel without being overly "stuffy." One of my favorite details was seeing a table with a fire feature in the center and guests were literally seated around a fire while dining, which felt so luxurious and unique. There was also a live band, and the sound quality was so crisp I genuinely thought it was a playlist until I looked up and realized they were performing. Parking was a breeze, which is always a win, especially on a busy Saturday night. My server was delightful, attentive, kind, and welcoming. I started with the clam chowder, which was creamy, hot, and full of flavor. The sourdough bread served at the table was perfectly crunchy and delicious with butter. And the pear martini? A full 5 stars on its own. It was so good I ordered two. This is definitely a more expensive place, but the service, atmosphere, and overall experience matched the price. What I also loved is that it's not just for couples it's family-friendly, and I saw families dining, birthday celebrations, and even regulars. I sat near a gentleman who said he comes frequently, and I can absolutely see why. This feels like one of those stable spots that, once you go, could easily become your go-to if you enjoy great ambiance and a quality experience. Overall, I didn't order an entrée this time because I originally came to enjoy the scenery, read my book, and have a drink, but next time, I'm absolutely coming back for a full meal. If the soup and drinks were that good, I can only imagine what the food is like. If you're in the Long Beach area and want great ambiance, great service, and a beautiful dining experience, The Boathouse on the Bay is worth it.

Blast from the past! And 5 stars for our waitress, Malia I used to come here every weekend for their brunch. This was the very first time I've had dinner and cocktails here I made a reservation which was really easy. I remember I used to have to put my card down for the reservations In the past, but this time it didn't make me do that. If you don't want to make a reservation they do have a waitlist Parking can get crazy during brunch hours and weekend dinner. I recommend carpooling or ubering. I have a handicap placard, so thankfully there wasn't an issue at 4:30. they also share the parking lot with a couple other places We were greeted right away, everybody was friendly. I made the reservation for the outdoor patio and I had it reserved at sunset so we could watch it. I did ask the hostess though if we had to sit in a certain area for happy hour, she said it's available anywhere. So we kept our patio spot. This is my favorite outdoor patio / places to dine outside. They also have live music, the lady singing was amazing. Check their website to see when they have live music This place has a really good menu. They have sushi, steak, all other kinds of seafood, sandwiches and etc. This restaurant honestly has the best happy hours for cocktails in Long Beach. The ones I ordered were 10 dollars vs 16-18 This time we ordered their tomahawk. I called ahead of time and asked if they serve it only on a certain day or past a certain hour. I didn't get the name of the girl. But she did say as long as it wasn't brunch menu time, they can make it during lunch and dinner Also, grabbed a few cocktails I got the -blueberries on the bay The - pear martini the- Chee hoo And the-champagne punch cocktail (Don't worry, I ain't driving) All of them came out really fast, tasted amazing and were on the happy hour menu They also have great mocktails . Happy hour is tues-Friday and 4-6 pm. (They are closed on Monday) we also ordered the - chicken sliders from the happy hour menu. (I'm not into sushi, but they even have sushi featured on their happy hour) The tomahawk does not come with sides. It comes with a butter / sauce that you get to pick and the seasoning. We ended up picking the mushroom glaze for the tomahawk and skipped on the rub that comes with it (3 to choose from) I really appreciate that Malia kept notifying us that certain items we order would take longer like the tomahawk and our dessert that was being made. She also let us know that she was having to go into a meeting but it would only take about 5-10 minutes and asked if we needed anything beforehand. So she was really great and mindful We ended up getting -Mac and cheese -truffle fries -broccolini with balsamic glaze -garlic mashed potatoes To go with the tomahawk Everything was amazing. I've been coming here for years and yet the service and quality is still the same I think it's safe to say this is a Long Beach staple. This is a must for girls night, date night, brunch and even taking your friends and family here if they are coming into town. Especially since they have such a diverse menu, everyone will be happy

Wanted some seafood near the water and found this place to go to for my anniversary. Service was very pleasant we did not have a reservation as we were looking g to sit at or near bar however the bar was packed but was happy to find out they seated us inside restaurant very quickly. Took a while to get our server but when he finally came he was very nice and attentive gave great suggestions. The ambiance is cool view is great. Drinks were good overall a great experience.

We had a late lunch with friends after a long time, and this place we chose turned out to be quite nice. The interior was clean and bright without feeling overdone, and the service was very satisfying. The food was also neat and enjoyable, making it a pleasant overall experience.

The Boathouse on the Bay is located at Marina Dr, Long Beach,It is situated directly on the water within the Alamitos Bay Landing complex. The restaurant sits right on the Alamitos Bay marina. If you aren't sitting on the outdoor patio at Boathouse on the Bay, are you even doing Long Beach right? This is the ultimate "SoCal vibe"--perched right on the marina, watching yachts glide by while live music fills the air. It's hands-down the premier spot for a waterfront sunset, and the fire pits keep it perfectly cozy after dark. The menu is an elite mix of premium sushi and upscale steakhouse classics. While you're definitely paying a "view tax," the quality is top-tier: Lobster Mac n Cheese: Decadent, creamy, and loaded. Sushi Rolls: Super fresh and beautifully presented. Sweet & Spicy Fried Shrimp: The perfect flavorful kick! The bar team is also total rockstars--they whipped up a custom Blue Cocktail just for me that was as stunning as the view. Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was immersive, and I'm already counting down the days until my next visit.

Boathouse on the Bay in Long Beach/Seal Beach was such a great dinner spot. We went for dinner and everything was really good. Started with the shrimp tempura sushi and calamari, both fresh and a great start. The steak was cooked perfectly, nice sear and super tender. The lobster pasta was the highlight for sure, really flavorful and worth ordering. The atmosphere is upscale but still relaxed, and the waterfront view makes it even better. If you can, go around sunset, it's a great experience. They also had live music, which

This past Saturday i came here for my birthday, before i came here i requested to have a nice romantic area or nice view for my specialday. When i got here the host walked us to the far corner in front of where we can seethe bus stop. No view pole nlocking where the musician was. I really was annoyed by the sitting but we stayed to not mess my night up. Drea was a great waitress but Brittany( i think) service was amazing, she wasnt our waitress, but she can see my face and tried to cheer me up by making jokes and took pix for us, very attentive made us feel welcomed. The food was so so, i only enjoyed their crunch roll and slice of cake for my bday. I doubt we will go back but i enjoyed the music.

Tried out Boathouse on the Bay today and overall it was a good experience with a few things that could be better. To start, we got the calamari it was good, just a bit too soft for my liking, but still enjoyable. For drinks, I ordered the Blueberry by the Bay and it was a little too strong and acidic for me, so I did end up asking to switch it. I got an espresso martini instead it was good, just not as creamy as I personally prefer, but still solid. For food, I tried the Club Sandwich by the Bay it was good, but nothing super special or memorable. The shrimp tacos were also good, but the tortillas kind of overpowered the shrimp flavor. I feel like using yellow corn tortillas would make them stand out more. The mango pico de gallo was really good though and added a nice kick. Customer service was good, but could be a bit more attentive. Overall, a nice spot with a great vibe, cute atmosphere and esthetic just a few small things that could take it to the next level.

Popped in for lunch & enjoyed the beautiful view. Right next to Ballast Point brewery so they had a few fresh options of Ballast beers. Our server was nice. The food did take a while to come out, we spent about 30-35 minutes waiting on our appetizers - Brussels sprouts & fries. Another 40-45 minutes on the mains - prime rib sandwich & halibut sandwich. We weren't in a rush so I didn't mind, but if we had somewhere to be I would've definitely been antsy. Halibut sandwich was good but the prime rib is WAYYY better so learn from my mistake.

Thank you Jeremy and Paige for the awesome service! GIVE THEM A RAISE! I usually go to the other side but I was on the 1-4 gate side and wanted to charge my phone and watch the football game at 7am. Chargers don't work though but vibes were flowing high. I didn't get food but got a beer and ready for Hawaii!

It was a beautiful warm Spring day (73 degrees) and we were excited to eat with the great ocean view from The Beach House Seal Beach. Paid for 2 hours of parking and walked over to the restaurant. It was only when we entered the gate where the hostess is that we saw a small sign that said, "Closed." WAIT WHAT???? No indication in the parking lot, no sign at the sidewalk, no sign walking down the walk way. The ONLY notice was buried around a corner saying Closed. We were told they were short staffed and had to close early, sorry. As we walked back to the car, we stopped at least 4 other cars and told them the restaurant was closed. We were able to alert them so they did not pay for parking at a CLOSED restaurant. It felt like the restaurant had NO consideration for the customers. To have NO sign anywhere near where customers would be parking to notify us of a totally unexpected, unanticipated, highly unusual CLOSING at 4 pm for a restaurant that was supposed to be open until 10 pm!!!!! So I called from my car in the parking lot and asked to speak to the manager. When the manager got on he explained that they were short staffed and had to close early. I discussed the lack of notice to customers and how we paid for 2 hours of beach parking. Manager was nice and polite and totally unresponsive to the fact we paid money to visit his restaurant and now had no where to eat and were out the parking fees. I recommended they post a notice where customers could see they were closed BEFORE we paid for our parking. He said they would do it after they finished closing out. I insisted it was only fair that they notified their customers FIRST. So, as we were leaving we saw an employee come out and post a sign. I took a photo because no one would believe how inadequate their posting was if I just described it. The sign is micro small. You can see our car at the bottom of the photo. Would you notice this CLOSED sign? Come on Beach House. We know you can do better for your customers.
