This is one of the most underrated date night spots in Long Beach. I went here on a Monday for their Oyster Hour, which features great deals on things like their seafood platters. I got their seafood platter, and let me tell you, it's worth every penny! It is fresh, flavorful, opulent, and downright delicious. My favorite thing on there is the shrimp, which are perfectly cooked, plump, juicy, and coated in the sweet, spicy, smoky rub. It's perfect.  I also got the caesar salad and the nNashville hot fish and chips. Everything was so spectacular with a bottle of white wine. This is a really wonderful spot that was almost completely empty when I dined in. Come check it out!!

Overall, the food was really good. We ordered oysters, Caesar salad, calamari, bread with olive tapenade, lava cake, and a couple dirty martinis. The oysters were fresh, the calamari was good, and the bread with tapenade was one of my favorite things we ordered. The only food disappointment was the lava cake. It was more like a cupcake with a hardened fudge filling than an actual lava cake. The dirty martinis were extremely sweet. Our server explained they don't have a full bar and make their martinis with sake, which definitely should've been mentioned on the menu because it was very unexpected. Overall, the food and service were solid.

Love a good neighborhood oyster bar. Husband and I are big fans of oysters, not only for the fresh taste but for the nutrient-dense properties. Full of zinc, copper, manganese, protein, omega-3, selenium, vitamin B-12...you get the picture. Great for immune, brain, heart health. On this Friday evening, we enjoyed: A dozen oysters - 1/2 nurumbega and 1/2 rough waters (New England) creamy and briny fresh and chilled. Paired well with the Jozen sake Salmon crudo - cream fraich, homemade bread crumbs, herbs. Melts in your mouth. Shrimp tacos - perfect to share, fried. Loaded with cabbage. Baby gem wedge - Manchester, pickled onion, cilantro, sourdough bread crumbs, ranch dressing. Eat your veggies. Stuffed pasta - housemade. Crab, lemon butter sauce, salsa macha, pea tendrils. Amazing. Finished off with a creamsicle cheesecake - Basque, with fresh orange, vanilla, citrus icing paired with espresso. Definitely an homage to our childhood, getting a creamsicle bar from the ice cream truck. So we felt satisfied after our little feast. Loved the chill music streaming in the restaurant. There are both indoor and outdoor seatings. I love the bar, just because I feel it is more intimate and easier to have conversation. Cheers!

Oysters were really good. Will be back on a Monday for their half off oysters deal. Salmon crudo - salmon itself was good quality. The creme fraiche was good but just different and not something I'd expect with salmon. Needed acidity so we added some lemon. Prob would not order again. Girls dinner - Caesar salad and fries were good. Decent portion. I did not have the wine it came with but my bf said it was not good. Nice huge glass of iced tea. Overall a cute place. Service was a bit slow. Will be back on a Monday!

butter toffee cake and orange creamsicle cake

My friend and I were walking along 2nd street looking for dessert and she had just mentioned loving toffee. We walked by and saw they had a butter toffee cake and knew this would be our next stop! We just wanted dessert because we had dinner already but we both loved oysters and ended up getting a dozen. They were big, full of brine, and very delicious and savory. They were less creamy than I would like but still good! I tried one of the oysters Liv's style. I didn't really care for it much for the extra price because I love just a good ol oyster. For dessert, we of course got the butter toffee cake and another orange cake. I forgot what it was called exactly but it was their special for the night and was supposed to be like an orange creamsicle. Both were beautifully plated and delicious! The quality was amazing but they were both a bit too sweet that I got sick of it pretty easily. The inside was dimly lit and the vibes felt really elegant! It's a perfect spot for a date. It's definitely on the higher end pricing wise but I'd consider coming back when I'm rich and famous to try the rest of their menu

liv's exceeded my expectations!! def glad we made rez here. gosh what a beautiful space and they have a pet friendly patio! my friend and i met here for our quarterly brunch. we had so much to catch up on so thankful we were not rushed or there was a time limit. everything on the menu sounded so delish. we order a few plates to share: CHARGRILLED OYSTERS...$24 CRISPY CALAMARI..S17 SPICY GARLIC SHRIMP...S28 ROSEMARY BONE MARROW & OYSTERS...$32 FISH & CHIPS...S24 LOBSTER ROLL...$38 i didnt have any of the oysters but i heard they were really tasty! everything else!!! 10/10. service was so amazing. friendly, inviting and casual. def will be back soon bc that lobster roll and spicy garlic shrimp were delicious!! parking: on 2nd. metered street parking or lots. or you can find parking along the residential streets

Oysters with a hit of caviar
    Sherwyn H.

I gotta say, one of the best seafood platters I've had in a while. And had an option of caviar to add. Oysters here tasted fresh and their crudo was amazing. I went ahead and topped the crudo off with a small hit of caviar, so good! I topped the oysters with caviar as well , why not lol We came on an Easter Sunday so it wasn't crowded at all. But I can see this place being a packed house especially during the summer. Their crab ravioli dish was soooo good, I'd recommend ordering that dish if you are in the mood for pasta. Definitely a place I'm coming back to when I'm in the area . There is Meter parking around the restaurant and down the block, be patient , people are always coming and leaving in that area.

5/5 Caesar Salad: great portion size, a little more lemony than anchovy forward flavor wise but still definitely hits the spot. The sourdough bread crumbs were crispy and gave a great crunch 4/5 Chargrilled Oysters: I prefer oysters this way over eating them raw. I wish it was a serving of 6 instead of 4. Only docking a star because while the flavor and cheese were amazing it's wasn't as "charred" as I'm used to it's definitely more creamy because of the cheese but again the flavors were amazing I was just expecting a little crisp. There's hot sauce but it's not spicy (to me that was a good thing) I'm not the best with spicy. 5/5 seasonal Arnold palmer. Mine was pomegranate lemonade and tropical iced tea. Served in a large mason jar. The portion was great considering usually places like this give you a small glass for lemonade or iced tea. 5/5 ambiance. Indoor, outdoor and bar seating is available. There was plenty of seating when I went. The bathroom you do have to walk through the kitchen. A little jarring but everything looked clean and the staff was friendly. What was also really cute when they give you the check, they give you a postcard to fill out and they will send it for you. 3/5 parking. Obviously not the restaurants fault. Metered parking every day of the week (it's Long Beach) and it's $6 for two hours and can get pretty packed so make sure you allow for parking time.

I came here for the oysters and happy hour. That's literally what I searched on Yelp. The happy hour items I tried, I liked. Service was friendly and it was a nice day to sit out on the patio. I'd go back!

I have bookmarked this place for over a year and finally got to stop by while staying the weekend in seal beach area. It's such a cute and cozy little place and definitely has good vibes. Food was delicious but I have to say I feel bad knowing they don't have enough help in the kitchen. It was Easter Sunday and it was busy that weekend especially around the nice areas. Our food took longer than expected but I totally understand why. Service was so nice and they apologized so you couldn't be too upset about it. We ordered the seafood lovers platter - which came with 10 oysters, salmon Crudo, and 4 prawns and we added caviar. Everything on this platter was fresh & definitely great quality and flavors. I loved the salmon Crudo! 2nd order was the stuffed pasta - which was a ravioli with stuffed crab made in house with a cream sauce which was delicious!!! The menu is a great menu with alot of my fav kind of food. Definitely will be back soon!

Liv's is the kind of place you almost don't want to tell people about... but here we are. I went on a Sunday with a reservation (pro tip: do that while you still can), and it already has that "this place is about to blow up and I'll never get a table again" energy. Let's talk food--because wow. The lobster roll shows up like it knows it's the main character. Packed, buttery, and not playing games. No filler, just straight-up "yes, this is why you ordered me." The calamari? Dangerously good. Light, crispy, not greasy--basically the kind of plate where you say "just one more" about 12 times. Then the Nashville fried fish comes in hot--literally. Crispy, spicy, and bold, but not trying to ruin your life. Just enough heat to keep things interesting and make you reach for another bite like you didn't just say "okay I'm full." And the spicy garlic shrimp... listen, this one might start a fight at the table. Garlicky, a little spicy, and way too easy to keep eating. You'll be thinking about it later like it owes you money. If you love oysters and bone marrow--don't overthink it, just get them. Trust. Everything just works. Nothing feels overcomplicated, just really good food that knows what it's doing. Service is smooth, friendly, and keeps things moving--which is great because you'll want to focus on eating, not waiting. Bottom line: go now. Not next week, not "I'll save it." Go before Liv's blows up and you're outside wondering why you didn't listen to this review.

    Lobster roll! @yassiG
    Yassi G.

Had a great experience here. Came on a Thursday evening and sat at the bar. There was no one else inside, only a couple of tables occupied outside on the patio. They also had the stroll and savor event going on on 2nd street that night so that might be why it was dead. Our waitress was attentive and quick with the service. We ordered oysters and they were delicious. I'm really picky when it comes to oysters too lol. Bread and butter was soooo good I dunno what they put in that butter but my goodness. I also got the lobster roll - simple, hearty, buttery! the fries were bomb too. The seafood tasted fresh and clean. They only have beer and wine so I opted for a glass of Sauvignon blanc. Kinda wish they had cocktails but I understand! Thanks for a tasty experience.
