Can always find what I want and need love oysters. Love supporting my local small businesses in my community. I recommend to my friends and family, great customer service ....

Building facade. Looks like they kept the murals and windows boarded up after the 3/31/2020 riots.

It's been a very long while since I've been to Rainbow Seafood Market. Really--last time was when they were located on Long Beach Boulevard, which was over 4 years ago. What brought me here today was two different seafood markets were out of oysters. I also just happened to call ahead and confirm they had a case available. Lucky me, I claimed their last box. I like this Pine Ave location better than their Long Beach Boulevard store. There's a lot less clutter and miscellaneous merchandise. Beware this place is also very small and tight inside. Markers are on the floor to enforce social distancing and masks are required to enter. One wall is a complete array of sauces and spices. Produce availability is limited to your basic cilantro, tomatoes, lime, onions, etc.. I came specifically for the oysters, and they had it. Quality was fresh. Not a single bad one in the bunch. A case is 60 count for $60.

We have been a long time customer of the seafood market, prior to them changing ownerships. We had purchased small bag of oysters and we notice half of the oysters was bad after we cooked it on the grill. We had contacted the market and they demand that we bring the bad oysters back to them same day. We explained to them that we had made the purchase and was not able to bring back the oysters due to the event we were attending. They said they were not able to do anything since we did not bring it small day. We wanted to let them know that the batch they had received was bad. They were unprofessional on how to deal with the situation. They should know that bad seafood cause a bad reaction to our health.

Only if I can give them zero stars horrible and oysters are bad and taste like shit and smell so bad

There's limited parking in the back of the building and only big enough for smaller compact cars. They have several buckets of fish sitting on ice chips, lining the middle of the store. A couple live tanks against the wall. Decent variety. When I was choosing my fish from their ice buckets, I thought they looked a little extra slimy but against my better judgment just gave it a shot anyway. Took my catfish to the kitchen to request it be fried. Within a couple hours of eating, I got the worst food poisoning I've had in a very long time. This was such a disappointing experience and now I'm sick as a dog. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.

If you want fresh seafood at a reasonable price, this is the spot. For first timers we took it easy. I went with the fried fish and scallops. My wife chose the fried fish, shrimp and scallops. Besides fried product, they also have a grilled option. They offer outside seating, picnic style. It's not a fancy seafood spot. They even sat us by the window so we had a view of the Marina/sunset. We were just having a casual dinner so we shared a bowl of the clam chowder and a whole fried tilapia. This was enough to fill us both! The chowder was a good consistency, not too thick or watery and served with oyster crackers. The tilapia was big! You can get it fried or grilled and add sauces. We chose to mix the Cajun and garlic sauce, such a good combo! We asked for the diablo sauce on the side, which had a good kick to it. The fish comes with veggies underneath that are mixed in the sauce (bell pepper, onion, and potato). Our waiter was also super nice even though it was just us 2 and we only ordered those 2 things. Not a big deal, we still got to see the sunset and boats from the next table over. My little one ordered the chicken tenders and it came with fries, apples and a drink. She loved that and it was just the right amount of food for her. My eyes were definitely the ones eating today lol. I ordered the shrimp plate which is the smaller version of the tray and I added a whole fried tilapia. I had the option of having the fish grilled or fried and I opted for fried. That fish, I tell ya, was cooked beautifully! For both the shrimp and the fish I chose both the regular seasoning and the garlic butter and thought that was the perfect combination. I did try their bottled house salsa and that was pretty darn good to add on top too. There was a nice portion of potatoes and shrimp and a whole lot of onions. Wish there were more bell peppers and other veggies too but not a big deal. With the shrimp plate you get a 4 in top and bottom slice of garlic bread and that wasn't enough so I ordered a whole footlong of it. Would definitely come back again to try other things on the menu! Great place for seafood and the Lenten fish fry!
