    The view!

I love The Crab Pot! I have come here a few times, but just recently, my parents were visiting for Christmas from the East Coast, and I was excited to take them here. Gosh, especially if you have people visiting you from a cold weather climate on a nice day it really doesn't get better than coming here. It is right off PCH, so really convenient and you are right in the harbor so the views especially at sunset are beautiful and there's a nice walking path right there. They have an outside sitting area with a big fireplace that you can sit at, and then of course there's inside as well, but who the heck wants to sit there when you can sit outside on the water. Getting past the exterior, their seafood options are quite big and tasty. I love the chowder, and the sourdough bread, but I've also had their mussels and fish and chips and they're all tasty.

We went for brunch. I absolutely loved the yachty vibe being next to the marina just makes the whole experience feel relaxed and scenic. The food was okay, nothing extraordinary, but perfectly fine for casual dining. I couldn't really complain it did the job for a laid-back brunch. Overall, it's a nice spot if you're looking to enjoy the view and soak in that marina atmosphere.

I ordered the Clam Chowder in a Loaf ($15) and the Seafood Fettuccini Pasta ($29). This expensive Seafood Fettuccini Pasta tasted like old boiled leftovers cooked with soggy noodles and butter. Yet, the Clam Chowder felt fresh with big, bright clams. Food is hit-or-miss. Fortunately, the night was saved by our charming & hardworking waiter (David). David delighted the table while diligently attending to all our needs. David was a glimmering star in a dingy & decaying restaurant. I arrived at The Crab Pot (Long Beach) on Labor Day Monday (around 6:16PM). The location includes a beautiful view of the oceanside and floating boats. The locations has many clean tables and chairs. Dining is available for outside and inside. My family and I were sat quickly. As mentioned, the staff (David) was a delight. David is charismatic, helpful, and hardworking. David made humorous, witty comments as he wrote down our order; David found us a quieter table; and David quickly jotted dish modifications. In addition, David worked nonstop in the background. David's professional and quick-witted service saved our dining experience. Concerning food, I ordered the Clam Chowder in a Loaf ($15) and the Seafood Fettuccini Pasta ($29). The Clam Chowder in a Loaf arrived in 13 minutes and 42 seconds. Immediately after, a complimentary loaf of fresh bread arrived. An additional 18 minutes and 47 seconds later, the Seafood Fettuccini Pasta arrived. Food came out slowly. Despite being a holiday, The Crab Pot (Long Beach) did not have many customers. As mentioned prior, I genuinely enjoyed my Clam Chowder in a Loaf. The Clam Chowder's broth arrived boiling hot, but its freshness is undeniable. As the heat cools, the broth thickens and becomes creamy. Despite its light seasoning, the taste of its fresh, big, & tender clams easily shine through. When this broth intertwines with the sourdough bread bowl, the flavor blossoms exponentially. I especially love how fluffy, bouncy, and fresh this loaf of bread tasted. It created a wonderful combination of satisfying flavors. The complimentary bread also tasted wonderful. I especially loved dipping this fresh, crisp loaf into its fluffy, salted butter. It tasted delightful. Unfortunately, the Seafood Fettuccini Pasta was lackluster and painfully subpar. Its pasta came overcooked and mushy; these noodles broke apart easily like paste. Its Alfredo sauce tasted like water and oily butter; the cheese is an afterthought. Most tragically, the seafood dumped into this pasta tasted dry & old. The shrimp was very dry and coarse; the clams tasted sour; the mussels came grainy; the salmon was mushy; and the crab legs' meat tasted dusty. The Seafood Fettuccini Pasta is a bad dish that's prepared lazily. Concerning ambiance, The Crab Pot (Long Beach) is hit-or-miss. If you have a lovely oceanside view, then the ambiance will be superb. However, if you're dining inside, you'll notice how the interior feels dusty and dingy despite the shiny veneer. Its interior reminds me a "clean" retirement home. It's not dirty, but you'll be tasting dust when you least expect it. It's a huge location with many empty tables. Even with the spinning ceiling fans, some portions will feel musty and warm. Overall, The Crab Pot (Long Beach) is a good option. Although food is hit-or-miss, staff is delightful. If visiting, I recommend the Clam Chowder in a Loaf ($15). My family and I left with a small smile. 4.2 out of 5

Captain Kidd's Fish Market & Restaurant in Redondo Beach is seriously a gem! From the moment I rolled into the super convenient parking lot, everything just got better and better--the killer views of the pier and marina set the perfect vibe for a fun seafood feast. The seafood was honestly so fresh I felt like it might jump off my plate, and the staff kept things moving with quick, friendly service in a laid-back, casual dining area. I had such a good time I can't wait to tell all my friends about this spot--definitely planning a return trip soon!

Our first time here was wonderful just after all the rain. Heaters on patio outside kept us warm and toasty Dillon was our waiter he was fun and very attentive Thank you Dillon it was great seat cushions were dry too. The view the view oh what a fantastic view it was indeed, yachts and sailboats and people walking around by yachts & everybody was nice too. We can't wait to come back again.

Delicious seafood boil! The Alaskan king crab with potatoes, corn and sausage are my absolute favorite! The rubharb cake for desert is a must! I've been going there for 25 years. They're consistent on the quality of their products. Seating outside by the boats is a treat on a sunny day. The service is overall good... a bit ifff sometimes...

This was one of the few places in the Long Beach Ca area that has crab Legs, they have several items to choose from for your entrée's or appetizers, the restaurant is very unique in its own way they have indoor and outdoor seating, the customer service is ok not the best they can do better, as far as the food itself it's ok we got the low country boil with crab legs, clams, mussels, potatoes, and corn it was pretty good the major downside was the lack of flavor and some of the mussels we're not clean properly and didn't taste to good. They make excellent beverages. The maties are out of this world very good flavorful and strong. I highly suggest those the sourdough bread is warm and delicious with their fresh butter. It isn't a good location. You get a good ocean, vibe, and relaxing ambience I don't think I'll be visiting this establishment again, but you never know I like to get places a second chance go and check them out if you're in the area hopefully your food experience is better than mine.

I've been coming to this place for over 12 years, and I used to love their happy hour. They started with $1 plates, then raised it to $3, and now happy hour food is basically nonexistent. Instead, they have an item for $23 how is that even considered happy hour? That's the price of a full meal! On top of that, they keep raising prices but haven't updated anything. Same tables, same umbrellas, same heaters it's been the same for at least a decade. I get that California is expensive, but if you're going to triple or quadruple the prices, at least invest in the place. I've always loved this spot, but if they don't bring back decent happy hour food at reasonable prices, I don't see myself coming back. Also service has declined but I guess that's everywhere where generation Z jumps in.

The Crab Pot is such a hidden treasure, tucked away on the waterfront between Long Beach and Seal Beach. You can park for free in the massive lot next to the restaurant. Bathrooms are always clean. The views are stunning and I always sit on the spacious patio, overlooking the marina. They have an indoor and outdoor bar, a cozy fire pit and they even bring out extra TVs outside during football games. What a great spot! I brought my mom here when she was in town visiting from Idaho for her birthday and wanted to take her somewhere for seafood with a view and she absolutely loved it! I've been many, many times and was excited to take her here! She is obsessed with fish and chips and ordered them here and was very pleased. I ordered my usual-the clam chowder and a side of fresh-baked sourdough bread. My boyfriend ordered the salmon tacos. All of the food was delicious! This place also has a great happy hour from 2-7 with discounted food and drinks and a daily special. I love the soft shell crab taco on Thursdays-(check it out and thank me later!) The service here is also typically very good. Thai day was no exception. Our server was Seth and he was very personable and so attentive and accommodating to us. He even brought my mom a delicious dessert for her birthday! We really enjoyed the experience and absolutely loved coming here. Can't wait to come back soon!

Love the Crab Pot!!! Nice spot to enjoy some great seafood in the Harbor looking out at the water and boats. So happy they finally went dog friendly....thank you so much!!! Our Husky is always well behaved and gets a warm welcoming. Food at Crab Pot is usually great, we always get the "Seafeasts" which is an assorted combination of different crab, shrimp, clams, mussels, etc. along with sausage, potatoes, and corn on the cob. So yummy!!! However, I have to say that this last time visiting 1/26 the clams and mussels were SANDY!!! Nothing like chewing on a clam or mussel with sand in it! Yuck!!! Spit them out...no thanks! Please purge your clams and mussels, Crab Pot! That was disappointing. : (

Ask the Community - The Crab Pot

Is this spot dog friendly (for non-service dogs)? I have a very small dog that I usually carry in a duffel bag and she is really calm and quiet. I don't know if it'll be ok to take her with me to sit in the patio/ outdoor sitting?

I'm not the owner and I don't work here, but while dining here I did see a dog on the patio! Maybe just call ahead and see if it'd be okay.

    Are u open tonight?

The view of the sand, rocks, beach, and sunset made the ambience really special and created the perfect beachside atmosphere. Brian was our bartender and the service really stood out. Drinks were deliciously made, the energy at the bar was fun and welcoming. It was a beautiful warm Spring day (73 degrees) and we were excited to eat with the great ocean view from The Beach House Seal Beach. Paid for 2 hours of parking and walked over to the restaurant. It was only when we entered the gate where the hostess is that we saw a small sign that said, "Closed." WAIT WHAT???? No indication in the parking lot, no sign at the sidewalk, no sign walking down the walk way. The ONLY notice was buried around a corner saying Closed. We were told they were short staffed and had to close early, sorry. As we walked back to the car, we stopped at least 4 other cars and told them the restaurant was closed. We were able to alert them so they did not pay for parking at a CLOSED restaurant. It felt like the restaurant had NO consideration for the customers. To have NO sign anywhere near where customers would be parking to notify us of a totally unexpected, unanticipated, highly unusual CLOSING at 4 pm for a restaurant that was supposed to be open until 10 pm!!!!! So I called from my car in the parking lot and asked to speak to the manager. When the manager got on he explained that they were short staffed and had to close early. I discussed the lack of notice to customers and how we paid for 2 hours of beach parking. Manager was nice and polite and totally unresponsive to the fact we paid money to visit his restaurant and now had no where to eat and were out the parking fees. I recommended they post a notice where customers could see they were closed BEFORE we paid for our parking. He said they would do it after they finished closing out. I insisted it was only fair that they notified their customers FIRST. So, as we were leaving we saw an employee come out and post a sign. I took a photo because no one would believe how inadequate their posting was if I just described it. The sign is micro small. You can see our car at the bottom of the photo. Would you notice this CLOSED sign? Come on Beach House. We know you can do better for your customers.

I hate when places start thinking they are so popular they can lose customers from bad customer service and it won't make a difference. It's sad when you have 50% good customer service and then the rest that could care less. And before I get some response about it being a busy day due to the big game, the table I was waiting for was almost in the doorway clearly a last resort table. Would I have minded waiting for a spot? No. But why would I since it was only me, clearly my patronage was less valued than everyone else with 2 people or more. How sad. The server couldn't have cared less. It was that crappy bar stool or nothing. Considering even with specials, the minimum spend per person is $30 and up, I guess it's all about maximizing $$ and my $$ aren't enough. After being a happy customer in the padt, I can't recommend this place right now.

And this one time I was there alone with another, no other patrons just staff members walking around from time to time. We stole the moment to dance under the Long Beach sky, just the two of us as a famous Christina Perrio song gently wafted in the night breeze. At another separate time, I was at the Los Angeles County Fair with another. We rode the ferris wheel at such a time where our gondola stopped at the top just as the sun set. The moment was nothing but beautiful and life affirming because the sinking of the sun's light was like a real life video of nature happening in front of us, unburdened by static or data stall. We witnessed nature resting, and I feel, that it was a kin to a beauty falling into a gentle sleep. These two instances have a common factor: momentary bliss arrived to bless an experience because the environment supported discovery of unplanned joy. That is what I associate with the Wicked Wolf, and this time the joy arrived eventually because when my Mom and I arrived to their high tea on Mother's Day the experienced seem like it would land nowhere good. Truth be told, my mom and I arrived 15 minutes early and there was no host in the stand and the place was empty except for a foursome. The energy felt lacked luster. One or two minutes after, the bartender informed us that we were early and the host would come soon. We sat in an available sofa for two, a loveseat persay. This gave us an opportunity to admire the decor that transported us to a storybook forest where good fairies reside, not like swamp creatures and trolls with malevolent fangs and dragon green eyes. I especially loved the large roses in the ceiling. To set the stage, the black ceiling had vines hanging from it, and the few roses were pops of crimson red displayed above. These were wonderful accents to the central mural of the joint that invited the viewer within deeper into the fairy forest where a light shone on an unseen meadow. The place had the decorations and general environment to be a lavender fairy's lounge, but, it did not fully work as a team room. For instance, my mom and I were sat in another lover's couch. Initially, I did not want to sit here because we were given circular tray sets. So imagine being told to sit in a couch, and each of us would get a tv tray. So I was left to wonder if we were going to be served tea in Belle's living room or if were going to watch a flick as we ate pollo loco bowl? But then as I settled into the tranquility of the moment, saw more people come and find their seat or couch, and as the serviced picked-up I realized that this was high tea in a place that had taken disjointed beauty and tackied it together for a patched tea experience that worked well. It was like the experienced was blessed and allowed by the same spirit that brought forth Raggedy Ann. For instance, the pictures show these pretty violet petaled tea cups and matching plates. This pairing was dainty and perfect for a tea party happening under pink veils. But then the sugar cubes came in a hedgehog shaped holder which was just as precious as seeing a piglet in a carriage built for one. Then the cream carrier was in the shape of a milk carton. I wondered where the missing child portrait was? The pastry plate was in the shape of a tropical flower like the ones scattered all over Hawaii. It belonged in a beautiful lei. Each of these elements was cute in its own delicate and whimsical way but together they made an eclectic hodgepodge, not a coherent tea set. And in this asymmetry laid the glitter of their error. The host also brought these clip on dainty hats that were perfect touches for make believe tea party. He carried them around in their original packing, including the box they came in. Not exactly the tailor of the queen, offering hats to the villagers as a gift from her to them, but still the effort magnified the moment. The tea food was the worst stumble that Red took as she was being chased by the Wicked Wolf. To begin with the end analysis, the tea offerings in general were standard, and not bites fit for a princess and her wedding court. For instance, the cream cheese and cucumber sandwich was just that---- a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich. I detected no effort to make it more than that. The blueberry scone was solid, nothing to skip through a meadow about. But once you added the jam of the table to the scone it was much easier to enjoy. I also had a madeline that was fluffy in the center but could have been purchased maybe at Costco. I had a Macaron and same thing, delicious but I have had something similar before and I suspected that it did not come from a place afloat with Parisian affairs. The best part of the tiers was this puff like thing that had like a Concha texture and design at the top. It was a sweet filled bite that was fit for a man made of muffin.

When we got there, I felt that the decorations and drinks felt a bit gimmicky, with random fairy tale-esque elements like a throne and massive red roses. I thought it would have been very cool to see Easter eggs and more intentionality bringing the atmosphere together. Since it was an hour before closing, we didn't plan to stay very long. The two people working at the bar were both unwelcoming and seemed upset that we were there (there were other people at the bar, including people who arrived later in the night than us). We paid for our drinks, which cost over $40 for 2 drinks with tip. My cocktail was $17 and came in a glass barely bigger than a shot glass. We left around the time they were calling for last call. I can understand not wanting stragglers who prevent the bartenders from closing late, but I would have much preferred being turned away at the door rather than paying and tipping for an overall unpleasant experience.

Smaller restaurant and they book up quickly! The bar area was packed when left, Sunday around 630pm. Service was excellent. Our server was Rosemary and she was the best. Attentive and checked us often. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The owner Nick, also stopped by to oversee the service and chat. Very friendly ans nice to meet the owner. That's an owner that truly cares about his business! The menu has a lot to offer. Great steaks, prime rib, and a lot of seafood options! In addition, the iffer daily specials. Honestly, it was tough to decide. We all chose seafood! Next visit definitely plan to try their Prime Rib or Filet! They have great soup and salad options as well! Next visit I want to try their French Onion Soup! Always looking for a great one! Interior has nice cozy booths. Parking was easy with a share lot. Cocktails were great! Martinis made right! I enjoyed my glass of Malbec. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised! Bread was warm and excellent! First impressions with bread is important and they measured up! We ordered the Beet Salad and the Asian Pear Salad. Both came with fresh Burrata and so good! For entrees we ordered Sear Ahi, Salmon, and Seated Scallops. My husband waa so impressed with his salmon, his quote, the best he has ever had! I had the seated scallops. The menu stated they were East Coast, where I grew up, and why I orderd them. I can't tell you exactly the differencebl but I prefer them back there vs West Coast, seem more meaty to me. They were preoared perfectly, definitely enjoyed the dush along with the side cous cous (pearl type) and lots of colorful al dente veggies! Our son ordered the appetizer size of the Seared Ahi. Perfect size when paired with a full size salad! It also was an excellent pick! Desserts. This place is known for their inhouse made desserts. If you know me, you know I have a sweet tooth. Nice offering if desserts. Since it wa our anniversary, they comp'd us a dessert of our choice! Very nice! We ordered two, Bread Pudding and Apple Tart. Both were excellent! Very generous portions too! Coffee was very good and paired well with the desserts. Definitely will be coming back! Too many items on the menu we didn't get to try!
