Haven't been here since 2017. Loved it then (see review) and loved it again yesterday. NOT SURE WHY THERE ARE SO MANY HATERS on Yelp who reviewed this place, but I can't get enough. The seafood is SO FRESH and delicious. I had a few choices in mind, but went for the Prawns Cocktail and can't stop thinking of it today. (I want to go back already).... The homemade cocktail sauce is wonderful - make sure you mix in the dollop of horseradish though else you'll burn your eyes out! My boss had the salmon tacos and he's a regular here, so he knew he'd love them.... The place is HUGE, so it never looks crowded at lunch time, but the gentleman who sat us was very pleasant in trying to get us a perfect view while we dined and our waitress, "Lyndsey Server D" was exceptionally nice and attentive. The only question/complaint was that I got charged for the so-called complimentary Sourdough Loaf & Butter, which is absolutely fresh, hot and delicious! (I'm totally a bread lover/expert!!) Nice casual ambience, great service, and a wonderful view of the sunset on the harbor. Perfect for date night. I equally like their house Hefeweizen beer and their house Blonde beer. My wife lives their Brancott New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wine. The complimentary loaf of sourdough bread with whipped salted butter was a nice touch. We were excited that they had Bairdi jumbo snow crab as well as regular Opilio snow crab. You can also do an extra half pound add-on for $20 if you're hungry. Note the Crab & Crab option is a mix of Snow and Dungeoness Crab. You can ask for a side of garlic to mix into your melted butter. You can also ask for a side of Chipotle sauce but we didn't care for that. Next time I'm definitely bringing gloves. We had a great time! read more

This was another happy hour spot we tried out Monday and it wasn't bad. There was plenty of seating so we sat close to the fire pit that was blazing heat. I had a beer and a sourdough loaf and it was really good. Wasn't crazy about the butter but the bread was crazy good. My partner had the Calamari strips and chips. The fries were spiced up well and the strips were crispy. She also enjoyed a tequila blackberry smash but couldn't nail down which alcohol it was. They had a number of happy hour specials so we'll give them a shot next time we come to visit. read more

This restaurant has it all. Beautiful views, delicious food, and great wine. My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful lunch here a few weeks ago. The weather was perfect to enjoy the patio. Their house wine is fantastic. I had the mussels. For $22 it was enough for my dinner the next day as well. They were wonderful. My husband had the crab melt. It is his new favorite sandwich. We also shared the bay shrimp cocktail, sourdough bread, and fish and chips. Everything was amazing. The service was great and we look forward to our next visit. read more

I love The Crab Pot! I have come here a few times, but just recently, my parents were visiting for Christmas from the East Coast, and I was excited to take them here. Gosh, especially if you have people visiting you from a cold weather climate on a nice day it really doesn't get better than coming here. It is right off PCH, so really convenient and you are right in the harbor so the views especially at sunset are beautiful and there's a nice walking path right there. They have an outside sitting area with a big fireplace that you can sit at, and then of course there's inside as well, but who the heck wants to sit there when you can sit outside on the water. Getting past the exterior, their seafood options are quite big and tasty. I ordered the Clam Chowder in a Loaf ($15) and the Seafood Fettuccini Pasta ($29). This expensive Seafood Fettuccini Pasta tasted like old boiled leftovers cooked with soggy noodles and butter. Yet, the Clam Chowder felt fresh with big, bright clams. Food is hit-or-miss. Fortunately, the night was saved by our charming & hardworking waiter (David). David delighted the table while diligently attending to all our needs. David was a glimmering star in a dingy & decaying restaurant. I arrived at The Crab Pot (Long Beach) on Labor Day Monday (around 6:16PM). The location includes a beautiful view of the oceanside and floating boats. The locations has many clean tables and chairs. Dining is available for outside and inside. My family and I were sat quickly. As mentioned, the staff (David) was a delight. David is charismatic, helpful, and hardworking. David made humorous, witty comments as he wrote down our order; David found us a quieter table; and David quickly jotted dish modifications. In addition, David worked nonstop in the background. David's professional and quick-witted service saved our dining experience. Concerning food, I ordered the Clam Chowder in a Loaf ($15) and the Seafood Fettuccini Pasta ($29). The Clam Chowder in a Loaf arrived in 13 minutes and 42 seconds. Immediately after, a complimentary loaf of fresh bread arrived. An additional 18 minutes and 47 seconds later, the Seafood Fettuccini Pasta arrived. Food came out slowly. Despite being a holiday, The Crab Pot (Long Beach) did not have many customers. As mentioned prior, I genuinely enjoyed my Clam Chowder in a Loaf. The Clam Chowder's broth arrived boiling hot, but its freshness is undeniable. As the heat cools, the broth thickens and becomes creamy. Despite its light seasoning, the taste of its fresh, big, & tender clams easily shine through. When this broth intertwines with the sourdough bread bowl, the flavor blossoms exponentially. I especially love how fluffy, bouncy, and fresh this loaf of bread tasted. It created a wonderful combination of satisfying flavors. The complimentary bread also tasted wonderful. I especially loved dipping this fresh, crisp loaf into its fluffy, salted butter. It tasted delightful. Unfortunately, the Seafood Fettuccini Pasta was lackluster and painfully subpar. Its pasta came overcooked and mushy; these noodles broke apart easily like paste. Its Alfredo sauce tasted like water and oily butter; the cheese is an afterthought. Most tragically, the seafood dumped into this pasta tasted dry & old. The shrimp was very dry and coarse; the clams tasted sour; the mussels came grainy; the salmon was mushy; and the crab legs' meat tasted dusty. The Seafood Fettuccini Pasta is a bad dish that's prepared lazily. Concerning ambiance, The Crab Pot (Long Beach) is hit-or-miss. If you have a lovely oceanside view, then the ambiance will be superb. However, if you're dining inside, you'll notice how the interior feels dusty and dingy despite the shiny veneer. Its interior reminds me a "clean" retirement home. It's not dirty, but you'll be tasting dust when you least expect it. It's a huge location with many empty tables. Even with the spinning ceiling fans, some portions will feel musty and warm. Overall, The Crab Pot (Long Beach) is a good option. Although food is hit-or-miss, staff is delightful. If visiting, I recommend the Clam Chowder in a Loaf ($15). My family and I left with a small smile. 4.2 out of 5 read more

We went for brunch. I absolutely loved the yachty vibe being next to the marina just makes the whole experience feel relaxed and scenic. This place has been around forever and is an awesome go-to when you want to have a relaxing meal and enjoy the best Long Beach can offer and some really delicious food. It's located adjacent to the marina, you can soak up to the peaceful ocean breeze and the sun while dining. Crab Pot is away from the noise and congestion of Belmont Shore's Second Street, which makes it feel even more like a hidden gem. As I said, you can't beat the views, whether you're seated inside or outside on the patio. It's Long Beach vibes and coastal dining at its finest. Let's talk about the salmon tacos, the seasoning is perfect, definitely one of my favorite dishes. Recently splurged on the Westport seafood boil, incredible fresh and delicious. I've been coming to this place for over 12 years, and I used to love their happy hour. They started with $1 plates, then raised it to $3, and now happy hour food is basically nonexistent. Instead, they have an item for $23 how is that even considered happy hour? That's the price of a full meal! On top of that, they keep raising prices but haven't updated anything. Same tables, same umbrellas, same heaters it's been the same for at least a decade. I get that California is expensive, but if you're going to triple or quadruple the prices, at least invest in the place. I've always loved this spot, but if they don't bring back decent happy hour food at reasonable prices, I don't see myself coming back. This was one of the few places in the Long Beach Ca area that has crab Legs, they have several items to choose from for your entrée's or appetizers, the restaurant is very unique in its own way they have indoor and outdoor seating, the customer service is ok not the best they can do better, as far as the food itself it's ok we got the low country boil with crab legs, clams, mussels, potatoes, and corn it was pretty good the major downside was the lack of flavor and some of the mussels we're not clean properly and didn't taste to good. They make excellent beverages. The maties are out of this world very good flavorful and strong. I highly suggest those the sourdough bread is warm and delicious with their fresh butter. It isn't a good location. You get a good ocean, vibe, and relaxing ambience I don't think I'll be visiting this establishment again, but you never know I like to get places a second chance go and check them out if you're in the area hopefully your food experience is better than mine. read more

Have always loved the ambiance at The Crab Pot & have been going for years. After my visit this week, I've decided to never go back. There were maybe 3 tables occupied outside on 5/13 and Dylan was our waiter. Incredibly SLOW service, rarely checked on us. I actually had to go look for him to get a refill on my drink...and, low and behold, he was found inside, behind the podium, chatting with a coworker while they were looking at their phones. It happened to be my mom's birthday & she loves the crab cakes. 2 smallish patties were $28.00! Total ripoff. The fish & chips (3 pcs.) were more like fish sticks, very small & at $23.00, another disappointment. Hardly anyone there, and the service was terrible. That's unfortunate...... read more

The Crab Pot is such a hidden treasure, tucked away on the waterfront between Long Beach and Seal Beach. You can park for free in the massive lot next to the restaurant. Bathrooms are always clean. The views are stunning and I always sit on the spacious patio, overlooking the marina. They have an indoor and outdoor bar, a cozy fire pit and they even bring out extra TVs outside during football games. What a great spot! I brought my mom here when she was in town visiting from Idaho for her birthday and wanted to take her somewhere for seafood with a view and she absolutely loved it! I've been many, many times and was excited to take her here! She is obsessed with fish and chips and ordered them here and was very pleased. I ordered my usual-the clam chowder and a side of fresh-baked sourdough bread. My boyfriend ordered the salmon tacos. All of the food was delicious! This place also has a great happy hour from 2-7 with discounted food and drinks and a daily special. I love the soft shell crab taco on Thursdays-(check it out and thank me later!) The service here is also typically very good. Thai day was no exception. Our server was Seth and he was very personable and so attentive and accommodating to us. Decided to come back to this spot after visiting once before a few months back. Food is pretty good, better prices for happy hour. Beer selection is small but not bad. Looks like they do more mixed cocktails than beer. Service is a little slow, staff is mostly young but they are attentive once they know you are there. Restrooms are decently clean. 12/20/2025 Me and my boyfriend went out for a Christmas dinner together during the lb boat parade. We Ordered 2 clam chowders 1 coconut shrimp 1 Cobb salad 1 dungenous crab - everything came out at the exact same time Not great - The coconut shrimp (was an appetizer but came with the mains ) were kind of cold - THEN When we went to eat the crab, the first leg tasted OK... But the second one had a very strong taste and smell of ammonia. I spit it out. My boyfriends reflexes - not as fast. He swallowed some. I immediately went to the bathroom to throw up. After doing a little research, this is the smell that crab has if it was dead before it was caught. DISGUSTED I addressed the smell with the server who immediately got the manager. He took the crab away and confirmed that it was in fact, bad. The manager came back and profusely apologized... AND THEN returned with a bill for our clam chowder and our drinks because we did in fact eat those PRIOR TO THE POISONOUS CRAB. I was mildly astonished that he still billed us for our soup and drinks considering the $60 poisonous item they just tried to feed us. I paid the bill anyways because I was too disheveled by having to go to the bathroom and force myself to vomit. Puking makes me cry. Public restrooms are disgusting.... and I'm now on my knees praying to the porcelain gods asking to save me. I went home and continued to induce vomit to ensure that I didn't get full-blown food poisoning the next day. 0/5 would not recommend. read more

Food at Crab Pot is usually great, we always get the "Seafeasts" which is an assorted combination of different crab, shrimp, clams, mussels, etc. along with sausage, potatoes, and corn on the cob. So yummy!!! However, I have to say that this last time visiting 1/26 the clams and mussels were SANDY!!! Nothing like chewing on a clam or mussel with sand in it! Yuck!!! Spit them out...no thanks! The only reason this is a 2 star is the location. The food was horrible. Seafood pasta was mostly all shell fish with small shells. Clams...too small to eat. Mussels...gross low quality. Crab legs...impossible to eat because they were too drenched in the over abundance of pasta sauce. We've marked this off our list. read more

The Crab Spot was just okay. The food is decent but definitely overpriced for what it is, though that seems to be the trend at most restaurants these days. One thing that stood out was that they now charge for drink refills instead of offering free ones, which felt a bit nickel-and-dime. The bigger issue was with our server, Sean. While clearing the table, he dropped our dishes directly onto my mom. The sauce spilled all over her dress, which was completely ruined. What made it worse was that he didn't apologize or acknowledge it, and nothing was offered to make it right -- no discount, no manager involvement, nothing. We didn't make a scene at the time, but it was extremely disappointing that the situation wasn't handled professionally. We strongly believe the restaurant should take responsibility, either by paying for the cleaning or replacing her dress. Accidents happen, but how a business handles them makes all the difference -- and unfortunately, in this case, it was handled very poorly. read more

Took my wife for Valentine's Day evening dinner. First time here. We made reservations so we were seated right away. Our waitress came and got our drink order, she was super friendly and bubbly. It was about 20 minutes to get our food, not a problem, however we noticed all the other tables got bread and butter before. We did not receive this or were offered. Food was great, had the Cajun shrimp, sausage with crab legs tray and the market shrimp and crab bowl. The down side was, we were given 2 napkins for a very messy meal. Our drinks were empty. Our waitress was engaged in conversation with two other tables for over 20 minutes. Again a very friendly person, but we could not get her attention or what we needed. We had to get a manager to fill our drinks and bring extra napkins, all while we watched our waitress still in conversation. She eventually came by a couple of times, but we had all we needed by then. We asked about the bread that we didn't get and she said they don't serve if you don't ask. Again, first time here and never offered. She did give us complimentary bread to go. Bottom line food is a bit pricey, but good, service needs some work. Had a bite to eat for Happy Hour here with the family. Great times! They had a good number of selections on the happy hour menu, including some delicious fried fish tacos & a spicy mango margarita. For about $65 before tip, we got 4 drinks, 3 tacos, calamari and chips, mozzarella cheese sticks, and some good service. I especially liked the mango margs because they use real jalapeño and garnish nicely. The restaurant itself is nice, big with lots of wooden things. Wood makes me feel really cozy for some reason! Felt at home here. Only thing I'd change is the calamari , which is deep fried and kinda tough. It's not the high end lightly breaded tender calamari that I was expecting. The location and views here are awesome! We sat outside and it was nice, you can eat and enjoy the marina views. I like that they have a fire pit and chairs around it so you can enjoy a nice fire at night. The food was good. I ordered the wild Salmon tacos and they were really tasty. I like the blacken seasoning on them. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp tacos, those were ok. I had a bite of his taco but I preferred my salmon tacos. The works Bloody Mary was good. It was loaded with a soft shell crab, prawn, andouille sausage, bacon, and olives. $15 for a big chalet is a pretty decent. Service was good. The staff were nice and friendly. The young lady that took over our table was very kind and apologetic. There was a woman that came to our table and said she must take a picture of us. We happened to be in the area for another appointment which got cut short, so we loooked around for a nice place for lunch and stumbled across The Crab Pot. Having just tried the Crab Pot in Seattle a few months ago, we were pretty excited as we really enjoyed the experience then and were always hoping and wishing we could go back again.....and then here we discover they have one not too far from home. I will say that boiled seafood (particularly Alaskan King crab legs) are perhaps one of my all time favorites foods of all time, and I was pretty excited to try this place out. The location is right on the water with awesome views of the water and docked boats everywhere. Parking is plentiful, restaurant quite large and spacious with indoor and outdoor patio seating. The host (Jed) was super nice and listened to the seating we preferred and made every effort to accommodate us.....like, an outdoor patio table with water views, but not too much sun, and a heat lamp since it was a bit cold.....and he actually made that happen! We were then taken care of by our (Brooke) who was very nice, very friendly, and regularly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed and were happy. So, as what we ordered at the Seattle Crab Pot, we again ordered the "Alaskan".....a variety Seafood boil which comes with.....Alaskan king crab, Dungeness crab, snow crab, head-on shrimp in the shell, steamed clams, Pacific mussels, andouille sausage, corn on the cob & red potatoes. Note that the price you see is per person. We were so excited when we saw our server finally walking toward us with the big bowls of hot steaming seafood! Beforehand, the table had been prepped with buthcer paper where the seafood would be poured, a cutting board, mallet, shell crackers, shuckaneer (like a can opener for shell fish), and cocktail fork, and a hand towel. Unfortunately, after having tried to peel and eat a few pieces of shrimp, mussels, and crabs, it was quite clear that our seafood had been overcooked and had dried out. We brought this to our server's attention, and she called over the manager (Rick?). Rick was so super nice and understanding and saw the dried seafood for himself, agreed that it had been overcooked, and offered to bring us a whole new batch of freshly boiled and perfectly cooked seafood. The second time was definitely so much better! .....ok, I will admit that the seafood during our Seattle visit was fresher tasting, but the seafood here was still pretty good. We totally enjoyed it all....especially with that drawn butter! We eventually thanked Rick very much for taking such great care of us, and he responded by saying that..... "It's all about the experience!" Oh, besides the main seafood boil, we had ordered the coconut shrimp that was really yummy!...and the complimentary sourdough loaf was pretty darn good too.....hot and fluffy on in the inside with a perfect crunch on the outside....and so yummy addictive when eaten with some of the provided creamed butter.....so very hard to stop munching on. Thank goodness they didn't bring the second loaf my wife requested!...or we would have been so stuffed! I will end this with the mention that this was an expensive, but very enjoyable experience......excellent service, wonderful outdoor patio on a day with incredible weather and views, and a fun self-peeling seafood experience. read more
