The fish and chips tasted fresh and the fries were seasoned perfectly. I'd recommend the truffle parm fries as they tasted lovely and complimented the fish and the burger perfectly. Our waiter, Shawn, was super friendly and patient! The restaurant was pristine and beautiful, and the lights weren't painfully bright, setting the perfect light level for anything like a date to a friendly hangout. Saw someone mention this place on Nextdoor app so I decided to check it out, especially since I just recently started spending more time in Seal Beach. Came here with my daughter and we were immediately greeted by Erica (think that is her name). She seemed to be the only one up front, working both the bar and the restaurant, but she was quite efficient and energetic. Got here about 15 minutes before end of happy hour so was able to get in 2 items from the happy hour menu and Grilled Fish Bowl. Happy hour is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday. Chef's Crudo was very refreshing and vibrant. Fish used for the day was hamachi, which was served with cucumber, avocado, fresno, jalapeno, cilantro, and aguachile. Poke Bowl was fresh and tasty. It came with diced tuna in sesame-soy based sauce, diced apples, seaweed, wasabi-tobiko, sweet onion, green onion, avocado, and jasmine rice. Grilled Fish Bowl was very satisfying and tasted clean. The fish for the day was yellowtail but I could've chosen any other fish of the day. I just went with the default choice. The fish was lightly seasoned but there was some sweet soy-sesame sauce at the bottom of the bowl , which added really nice flavor. The bowl consisted of jasmine rice, cucumber salad, pico de Gallo, queso fresco, picked red onion, and cilantro. Service was enthusiastic, friendly, and helpful. Erica did a great job in explaining everything and making us feel welcome. Food came out really fast too. I plan to come back in next few days with my entire family to try more items. read more

The Chef's Crudo was incredibly fresh and delicate, with flavors that truly let the fish shine. The Aguachile Ceviche (my fav) was bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced--fresh fish, citrus, and just the right kick. The calamari was light, crispy, and not greasy at all, and the fish tacos were packed with flavor, fresh toppings, and perfectly cooked fish. You can really taste the quality and care in every plate. I buy fish from these guys almost every week at the HB farmers market. It's fresh, sashimi grade, and I have yet to be let down. Every dish I've made with their fish, my family has loved so I decided to take my mom and MIL here when it was their last official meal together since my mom wanted to treat my MIL. MIL got fish tacos that she loved, my mom got a fish salad that she devoured, and my sister got a carpaccio and truffle fries. Service was amazing. I'm pretty sure they forgot the fries but they were quick to get on it when I brought it up. The fries are SO good. The server Sean was very patient and friendly, he answered my questions about fish given I need to be safe eating lower mercury fish. He made sure to ensure the order was cooked to the right level! I don't remember having a better seafood anywhere in the United States. The only other place where I had better seafood was in Sweden, back in 2016. The fish was fresh, and it's also expertly prepared by the chef. The fisherman's stew had a balanced taste between the natural brine of the seafood and the tanginess of the tomato. Even the bread that came with the soup was perfectly toasted. It's not everyday when I experienced a Ratatouille moment, when a food critic was overwhelmed by emotions and moved close to tears. My husband and I were craving seafood for lunch so we decided to stop by here. We decided to order the fish & chips, clam chowder, and ahi tuna sandwich since they were recommended to us by our server. I've had fish & chips all over the world, including the UK and Canada, and I can confidently say that the fried fish is among the best I've tried. The batter was so light and crispy and the cod was fluffy and juicy. I also upgraded the fries to the truffle parm seasoning and it was totally worth it. The clam chowder was just the consistency I like; not too thick and not too runny. The bread that came with it was soo good. And the ahi tuna in the sandwich was super fresh. I may have eaten all my food before I took a picture. But I did take a picture of the beautiful setting and great server. Cody was our server and he was amazing on recommendations of food. We started with the calamari that was so good and the sauces were both complimenting of the calamari. We then decided on sharing the Mahi Mahi Fish sandwich and the Mahi Mahi fish Tacos. They were amazing again, I know I could think of another word haha This is an amazing local spot with fresh fish and a great attentive staff. You would be missed out if you didn't try it. Stopped by to place my order to go while charging my car. I ordered the fish sandwich & fries .. which was an excellent choice . Halibut was fresh & I requested it to be blackened on a brioche bun with pickled onions and tartar sauce which was homemade & delicious.. I ate the entire sandwich and didn't get a picture. I'm so happy we were able to give this place another shot! This place was great, featuring multiple fresh local fish, their menu has options to enjoy any of them raw or cooked. The chef curates the entrees each day to feature whichever catch of the day would work best with that particular dish. The burrito pairing I enjoyed used a seared Ono, a mild and slightly sweet white fish with a good meaty texture, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how intentionally the burrito flavors were balanced to not overpower the protein. The flavors were soft and subtle with no big acidic punches or heavy spices (which in any other context would be welcome), truly a confident choice in recipe development that shows how much effort and care they put into the fish they procure. On the table was a fantastic spicy tuna crispy rice, perfectly cooked and seasoned truffle fries, and some of the best New England style clam chowder I've had in years. We actually got another bowl to take home and share! The decor is elegant but inviting, the aesthetic was clearly very lovingly conceived and shows a strong sense of identity. The staff was friendly, the prices were shockingly reasonable, and the passion showed. The Ceviche was refreshing and clean but honestly the other two apps outshined it. For mains, my girlfriend had the Fish Tacos while I went classic with the Fish & Chips. Both were executed with care and you can taste the quality of the fish and the thought in the ingredients. Nothing felt heavy, just satisfying. And dessert? Presentation to portion size were on point. I took my wife and some friends to dine at the restaurant last night and Chad outdid himself again. Friendly and personable service staff with killer decor to boot. We started with the charred edamame and ceviche apps. Both set the stage perfectly for the main entrees.
