What a joke. Went in sat there for almost 10 minutes before being asked anything with only 6 people in the bar. I ordered a Rate hamburger and it came out well done and dry. Also they advertised 1/2 pound burger this was only 3.5 ounces and not even close to 8 ounce burger. False advertising !!!! I have been an ex chef for 39 years and I know the difference of what 3.5 ounces and 8 ounces of burger meat looks like. I've been here once before but just for a quick beer. Decided to try another new-to-us restaurant yesterday as we are trying to branch out and go different places. The food was really good. The wings were fantastic!! My husband and I love wings but have been let down quite a bit lately whenever we get them. After eating these here he said that his love for wings has been restored. I have grown up and Seal Beach. Used to be a regular. Easy to get service and talk with other locals. Due to bad service several times I'm not returning quite a while. Once again, my boyfriend and I try to see what it's like tonight. It's the same thing. Get a few drinks and get your food maybe they will come back to see how you are And once you finish eating, they still won't come to see how you are. The food was solid; everyone in our party of 5 liked their food. Service was great. The downside was being seated where we had a view of one of the server's actions from 6-7 feet away. She blew her nose on a paper towel, went to check her nose in a mirror in the dining area afterward, then finished cleaning up and tossed it into a trash can. As she headed directly back out to the floor to wait tables, she used her pinky to dig something out of her teeth. Never washed her hands. Not that far from the beach is this little place packed with fun and laughs and good times called Seal Beach Grill. It is small but packs people in the best it can. If there is a big game being played on the tvs, you might have a difficult time trying to find seating, because it gets packed quick. I waited outside on bench for a few minutes until a group left. a nice guy who was sitting at a small table against the wall said we could share the table with him. The waitress came by and took our drink order. Grabbed a couple goblets of Modelo and it was very cold topped with a lime. We ordered a pastrami to split. they have an option of roll or rye bread. Decided to go with the roll. Didn't take long for the food to come out. Added some mustard and a pickle that was on the side and chowed down and watched the Portugal vs France soccer game. The fries were amazing. You know when you can't stop eating your fries and have that hand to mouth action going on--like that! Not five stars because its just bar food. If they had served seafood, like fish n chips, or halibut sandwiches, salmon or calimari, that would be cool. Also, there is just one waitress there, so it might take a minute to get your food ordered, but she does a great job. Absolutely insane food. Dive bar ambience, pretty loud, but don't let that dissuade you. Best sandwich I've ever had, rich pastrami and very good breaded fries. Wings are INSANELY well cooked, moist on inside and crispy on outside. Sauce is perfect on the "hot" option, not too hot but has great kick. This place is still AWESOME!! I have been eating there since the mid 2010s. I've always got the fish n chips special on Fridays. It's now called the Seal Beach grill but it used to be Seaside grill. Mostly locals but all are welcome. Service is great, food is great and ambiance (sorta dive-bar-ish) is also great! The clam chowder in a sourdough bowl (comes with free refills) great. I've really only ever got the fish n chips or clam chowder but I have got the wings which are EXCELLENT and the recipe is supposedly a carry-over from an old out-of-business joint that used to be in Long Beach called the Honeybucket. This morning, we visited Seal Beach Grill and waited for about 10 minutes before a family arrived about five minutes after us. When the waitress passed by, I informed her that we were ready to order, and she said she would be right back. However, she proceeded to take the other family's order first. This is the third time this particular waitress has done something similar, which is why I decided to address it. When I spoke to her, she responded with surprise, saying, "Oh, you came back?" I reminded her that we were seated first, yet she still took the other family's order ahead of us. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, she became defensive and claimed she takes orders as people arrive. I reiterated that we had arrived five minutes before the other family. At that point, all I was looking for was an apology, but instead, she insisted the other family arrived before us, which was simply not true. The only noticeable difference between us and that family was our skin color. I am Hispanic, and the other family was white. This is the third instance where I've observed this waitress prioritize white patrons over us, which leaves me deeply concerned about the discrimination that still persists. read more

The seating can be extremely limited since the bar counter only has about 7/8 seats. around the bar there's a few seats against the walls but due to the bar layout when it gets busy be prepared to have people hover over you. read more

They weren't observing the lockdown very well but it's behind the orange curtain so I get it. Burger was good, fries were good, wings were very good. JUST OK FOOD & EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE - NOT WORTH IT After eating here again today, we won't be eating here any more. Karlie B (our waitress today) treated us almost like we weren't even there. She could have walked up with a smile and said "Happy Valentine's Day", but nothing. She was so busy talking to the 3 people at the front, (there was only 4 people there besides us in the entire place) she acted like we were a pain the butt. She took our drink order after a bit, and since there was no menu given to us we just ordered cheeseburgers. She brought the cheeseburgers to us and never came back to us to see what we needed. We had to stand up just to get her to bring our check. When she brought the check, she was nice because I'm sure NOW she expected a decent tip.
