This location is right off of Main Street in downtown seal beach. Parking is ample and walking from a local neighborhood wouldn't cost you any parking cost. It's hardly ever busy, but we came here on Halloween, which is exceptionally busy for whatever reason. The people are super friendly and my friend who I went with knows everyone. The food is very good although this dish was a little bit expensive because it doesn't come with any protein. $28 including the tax and tip I thought was a bit pricey for the salad, but nonetheless, the quality was excellent.

Was excited to try this place out. Walked inside and told the waiter i would like to sit outside. He brought me a menu, napkin and utensils. 15 minutes later and still not waiter. I left. Will not be returning. I shouldve went to Le Crema where i was going to begin with.

The breakfast sandwich was fine. Be sure to ask for a side of mayo. Next time I want to try the breakfast burrito.

We parked in front of this place by chance this morning. Original plan was to go to Crema Cafe next door. But something drew us to come here instead, and I'm glad it did. Inside is a clean and well lit dining area. The servers were nice, timely, and attentive. The food was fulfilling! The chilaquiles was probably top 1-2 I've had (but I forgot where I ate the other one, :)) and the cubano torta was plenty for 1. Ordered with a glass of OJ, and the rest was all she wrote. Highly recommend, esp if you don't want to wait inline next door. This is my new spot on Main St!

I've passed by this cute little restaurant so many times on the way to Crema Cafe, and I'm so glad I finally stopped in! I wasn't in the mood for eggs, so I ordered from the sandwich menu and got the veggie wrap. It was delicious and HUGE so I saved the other half to go. My boyfriend had an omelet and really enjoyed it. It was busy, but not overwhelmingly so it's definitely more chill than the usual wait at Crema. I still love Crema, but tbh, this place might have just won me over. The space is small but very clean, service was fast, and the staff were all super attentive. You could flag down anyone and they'd gladly help. We'll definitely be back. Thanks, Catrina Cafe!

Banana Nutella waffle- major crowd pleaser!

A true Seal Beach gem. The owner, Craig, and his team stay true to a classic diner vibe yet, the menu is full of fresh, new dishes that showcase a Mexican twist. Maria handles the entire floor like boss. Kendall handles the drink/food run station like a boss. Together, those 2 make it happen! Food favs-- Talk about bang for your buck, the portions are plentiful. -Chiliqualis- the heat of the green salsa is right in the middle, not to hot, not to mild -California benedict- true decadence -Breakfast sandwich- old school and packs a punch of flavor (a fav for the weekly customers) -Banana Nutella Waffle- the ingredients are balanced perfectly for both the young and forever young -Bonus! Mimosas with 5 different juice options!

The food was delicious. I ordered the Catrina Benedict with fruit. I enjoyed the food temperature, simple presentation, and flavor. Rewind, I arrived on a Saturday morning (around 7:45 AM) and observed 2 single parties seated - 1 person eating at a 2-seat table the other person not eating at a 4-seat table. I was greeted within a minute of entering the restaurant. The restaurant had a mix of 2-seat and 4-seat tables. I requested sitting at a 4-seat table in the corner. I was told promptly - "no, I am saving the 4-seat tables for larger parties. We get busy in the morning." Mental note - this IS MORNING and only 3 parties in the restaurant. Hmmm... later, as people entered the restaurant they were told to sit anywhere. One of the couples chose a 4-seat table yet were not asked to sit at a 2-seat table. They ordered and received their food by the time I had the opportunity to order. What is the point? SERVICE... A restaurant should create a warm inviting ambiance allowing you to feel like a guest. I ordered and received my food in a timely manner. During my meal, I noted no follow up or check in by staff. AND, the seating was at less than 50% capacity. As I walked out the door, I did not hear a "thank you - come back soon" like the other guests leaving the restaurant. Good food... Service, ambiance, and feeling like a valued guest - meh... I probably will not come back soon but will probably take a few extra steps to Crema Cafe. Crema Cafe gets crowded (like a huge group of people waiting outside the restaurant) in the morning. AND, yet, on a busy Saturday morning, the Crema Cafe's staff offer a wonderful SERVICE experience whether you are a regular or not. The food is delicious too.

Got the molette with chorizo and a side of fruit, super tasty. Definitely ask for the salsa to go with it. Very friendly and attentive staff. Will be back next time I'm in town!

This is salad & half a sandwich. It's the BLTA sandwich it was so good and the salad very tasty and fresh !

Yes, yes, yes ! The best cup of coffee I've had in years hands down. Service was great. The eggs Benedict was fabulous. Looking forward to trying the different versions of their eggs Benedict next time. The ambience is ok.

Yummy breakfast! Cute interior! Servers were friendly, helpful and available to help. We went on a Sunday morning and had a 20 minute wait that went quickly.

Quaint restaurant tucked on a business street mixed with restaurants. They were busy when we arrived and then it fizzled down. We were seated quickly and our order taken, but it took what I felt was a long time (at least 20 min) to get our food. I didn't think that it would take that long since we ordered relatively easy entrees. The salsa verde is really tasty and was a much needed addition to the fit plate. I would've liked them to have cut off the brown pieces from the avocado before serving. The spicy BLTA was big with good flavor. The potatoes were cooked good and mixed with the salsa verde.

Came here for brunch with the girls great food! Came out hot and delicious. Get the chilaquiles and Nutella strawberry and banana crepes. I would definitely be back again. Went on a Tuesday which was a bit busy. Waitress was so kind.

This is probably my favorite brunch place in California. I still come to this restaurant to this day. I moved to Vegas 2 years ago and still come here to have brunch with my girl. 1. Staff is extremely nice, always attentive to us and ensure our experience is good at all times. 2. Food quality for price is great. You get high quality food for what you're paying for. I've had many dishes at this restaurant. Breakfast burritos, avocado toast, chilaquiles, mollettes, etc.. everything has always been tasty, flavorful, and high quality. 3. Location is great, the inside is designed well with plenty of seating options. Parking is fairly easy depending on the day you go. My go to order here is typically the breakfast burrito with sub/ carne asada. And a chocolate abuelita with a shot of espresso. Try it out! And make sure to get the molcajete salsa on the side. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for brunch. My favorite spot in CA!

The view of the sand, rocks, beach, and sunset made the ambience really special and created the perfect beachside atmosphere. I ordered the Wild Atlantic salmon and an espresso martini and both were excellent. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the espresso martini was one of the best I've had. Brian was our bartender and the service really stood out. Drinks were deliciously made, the energy at the bar was fun and welcoming. He made sure everything was very well taken care of throughout the night. Between the food, service, beautiful views, and the fact that it's pet friendly, it made for such a nice experience. It was a beautiful warm Spring day (73 degrees) and we were excited to eat with the great ocean view from The Beach House Seal Beach. Paid for 2 hours of parking and walked over to the restaurant. It was only when we entered the gate where the hostess is that we saw a small sign that said, "Closed." WAIT WHAT???? No indication in the parking lot, no sign at the sidewalk, no sign walking down the walk way. The ONLY notice was buried around a corner saying Closed. We were told they were short staffed and had to close early, sorry. As we walked back to the car, we stopped at least 4 other cars and told them the restaurant was closed. We were able to alert them so they did not pay for parking at a CLOSED restaurant. It felt like the restaurant had NO consideration for the customers. To have NO sign anywhere near where customers would be parking to notify us of a totally unexpected, unanticipated, highly unusual CLOSING at 4 pm for a restaurant that was supposed to be open until 10 pm!!!!! So I called from my car in the parking lot and asked to speak to the manager. When the manager got on he explained that they were short staffed and had to close early. I discussed the lack of notice to customers and how we paid for 2 hours of beach parking. Manager was nice and polite and totally unresponsive to the fact we paid money to visit his restaurant and now had no where to eat and were out the parking fees. I recommended they post a notice where customers could see they were closed BEFORE we paid for our parking. He said they would do it after they finished closing out. I insisted it was only fair that they notified their customers FIRST. So, as we were leaving we saw an employee come out and post a sign. I took a photo because no one would believe how inadequate their posting was if I just described it. The sign is micro small. You can see our car at the bottom of the photo. Would you notice this CLOSED sign? Come on Beach House. We know you can do better for your customers.

Bristy, our server, thoroughly explained the details of certain dishes such as the Mac & Cheetos. She also checked in on our table throughout the meal and came around often to refill our water. As for the food itself, it was very delicious. My favorite dish was the artichokes. They had a somewhat smoky flavor and the outermost leaves were crunchy and a nice contrast to the soft inside of the artichokes. They were also served in a tangy sauce that complimented the vegetable well. My friend's favorite item was the macaroni and cheese. It was chewy and creamy, and the pasta, which Bristy informed us was made in-house, was what my friend thought elevated the dish because it was a nice texture. We additionally ordered the gumbo which was also tasty but not as yummy as the other two dishes that we ordered. It is not a spicy dish if one is concerned about spice level. As for the ambiance of the restaurant, we enjoyed how the atmosphere felt casual and almost like you were sitting in somebody's house (the wallpaper and interior design is pretty) while still maintaining an elegant aesthetic design. If I was in the area, I would return to The Attic for dinner. My friend and I had a very welcoming and positive experience in terms of the service and food respectively at this establishment.

There is inside seating what looks like a converted house? There is outside seating at tables or at the bar. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.

You're telling me dozens of people are stuck waiting forever while there's plenty of room inside? It's giving manufactured crowd and poor management. To make it worse, they stopped serving drinks and turned the lights on at 1:15 AM, way earlier than literally any normal bar. So after wasting hours in line, you barely even get time inside. It was raining so we sat inside and the interior dining space took me back 50 years ago to sitting in a booth with my family when it was called "Little Ship's Galley". Obviously the new owners have redone and expanded the outdoor and indoor dining areas but the vibe to me is just as personable and inviting as I remember it. Alexandria, one of our servers, was so friendly and we also had another server taking care of our table who was just as attentive so our coffee cups were full and kept warm. Food: consistently great and generously portioned. You could easily share one meal but the birthday boy wanted the Country fried steak with biscuits and gravy and I narrowed my order down to a Mexican Omelette, subbing carne asada out for Ortega chili with hash browns and blueberry muffin as my sides. Since it was a birthday celebration, Mimosas and a cinnamon roll were obligatory and delicious!! Food reviews and suggestions: the Country Breakfast is huge and my hubby, former Texan, claimed that the chicken fried steak was as good as it gets along with the biscuits and gravy. My omelette was also huge and stuffed so much so that I could only eat about half, boxing the remaining omelette, muffin and hash browns to go. The cinnamon roll was so soft, cinnamony and delicious. I'd also recommend from past visits, the pancakes, waffles and eggs Benedict. To sweeten our breakfast experience, Alexandria brought my husband a Birthday Sundae with 2 spoons. Somehow we made room and finished the bowl. Schooner or Later is a great place to relish old memories and make new memories with family and friends. On a warm day, be prepared to wait because their outdoor waterfront patio fills up quickly. It was more crowded than we thought on a rainy day because the food is so good!!
