What an unexpected but delightful dining experience. Initially, we had our names down for a popular cafe but decided last minute to eat here for beer and burgers. Great choice. At entry, it was awkward. Bartenders/workers avoided eye contact and no greeting. I told my partner we'll just go back to the cafe for our spot bc this was so awkward. A patron heard and told us to just seat ourselves. ...had I left, I definitely would've given this place 1 stars for such awkward service .... Anyway, I'm assuming the owner, who was also at the bar gave us menus once we sat down. Ordered tuna nachos, fish tacos and a burger. Tuna nachos -surprisingly fish was fresh and tasty. This was a very tasty dish. Fish tacos, I didnt try but my partner said it was delicious and very filling. My burger, I request medium but it came out well-done. Not too big an issue since burger was still yummy. Solid dishes. Lots of regulars it seems. A great food establishment with lots of beers on tap, tv's and great window seating. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Pleasant place for lunch. We were in the area and were looking for a place for lunch and their menu was up our alley. We got there right after they opened so we were the first ones in, but the place filled up soon enough. The decor was attractive, with lots of dark wood, the ambiance was nice and calm, with friendly servers. I got the grilled shrimp tacos, which were three street-style tacos with plump shrimp, grilled veggies, shredded cabbage and avocado salsa, accompanied by seasoned tortilla chips and a nicely piquant green salsa. The hubby got the 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich and 1/2 garden salad, which he liked. You can mix and match among 3 types of sandwiches, salads, and soup--a nice option for a lighter lunch. We didn't have any beer on this visit but noticed the board with lots of interesting options. If you're looking for a more chill option on main st this place is worth a look. read more

In many years since we last visited here. So happy we stopped in though. Speaking with our waitress, they remodeled during Covid. Looks great! Just a beer and wine bar with some really good food! We were under impressed with the Abbey lemonade, and our appetizer, pretzel with beer cheese. They could've done something to increase the flavor of the Abby lemonade and the pretzel with beer cheese just really wasn't cutting it for whatever reason. Not on the same level as some other pretzels we've had recently. That said, their pizza was absolutely delicious! We ate more than half of the large buffalo chicken pizza. Delicious! Solid neighborhood pub experience during our lunch visit to Seal Beach. Simple fare, efficient friendly service. I ordered the main street BBQ teriyaki salmon plate which came with rice and veggies. Husband ordered the chicken caprese sandwich and fries. The sandwich came on a nice fluffy ciabatta bread with basil pesto, tomato, cheese and chicken grilled inside. He loved this sandwich! I think it was the pesto that made this dish for tasty. The fries were skinny cut and good as well. My salmon came with a side of some kind of sauce in addition to plenty of teriyaki on top. The veggies were tender broccoli and carrots both cooked fork tender so perfect for me. The dish was a huge piece of meat very thick and showing nice grill marks. I ate it all, and only wanted just a bit more jasmine rice to balance it out, the rice portion was a little stingy. But a really nicely prepared meal for a neighborhood bar! Came upon some reviews for this place and drove 25mins from Tustin to Seal Beach just to give it a try and they did not disappoint! I had the Baja Burger and the husband had the West Coast Burger, both were a decent size half-pound burger, utterly delicious, and came with shoe-string fries. Service was quick and our waitress (Emma) was attentive, which was perfect as we had our kiddo with us so speed is important (to avoid temper-tantrums)! Highly recommend if you're looking for a great burger - oh and get the peanut butter beer, its so good! read more

The Abbey seems to always be busy which is a good sign if you ask me. The staff is pretty on top of getting you seated as soon as a table opens up. They only serve beer and wine (the cocktails are wine based cocktails) but have a big selection of both. They have a decent variety of foods on the menu too. We went to the Abbey on a Saturday evening, and boy was it busy! Hostess told us it would be a 30 minute wait for our party of six, we did not get seated for 85 minutes, not a large place but pretty disappointing! So by the time we sat down, we were quite hungry, a bit tired from standing outside on the street where they have you wait and not in the best of spirits. That being said, I ordered the ahi pokey nachos and thoroughly enjoyed them. The fish and chips and cheese pizza for the kids also went over quite well. Ordered a beer, but had to send it back as it wasn't what I ordered, but did enjoy the hazy IPA when it arrived. My daughter had first come here a few times with friends and told me that it was really good. My husband and I were looking for somewhere different to eat at for our Friday Lunch Date so we decided on this place. For starters, it has one of my husbands favorite beers that is hard to find. We are visiting for an out of town soccer tournament for our daughter and I was trying to find a restaurant that would accommodate 30 of us. It was around 7pm when I called and very last minute as every place I called was fully booked. The manager at The Abby went out of her way to hook us up and had tables ready for us by 8:15. It's a smaller place but super cute and the staff there is very attentive, accommodating and very friendly. The restaurant itself is super cute with a wine bar type of feel. The food was fresh and made from scratch. They only serve Beer and Wine. Everything we order was perfect and came out fairly quick. I ordered the Chicken Parm. I like it when they pound the chicken thin and litely bread it before frying it. I did need to ask for more sauce but other than that it was cooked perfect. It was juicy and tender enough that I could cut it with a fork just how I like it. The fettuccine noodle In marinara were so fresh and cooked just right. Wish I had taken more pictures but I didn't want to bother everyone at the table. So these are just my family's. Everyone enjoyed their meals though we all had zero complaints. Overall we were very impressed with the service and how accommodating the staff was for being last minute especially with such a large group. They even split our checks per family which made it so much easier for us. I know it was a lot to ask but The Abby Staff made it happen when a lot of other places won't do that for large parties and will add 22% gratuity on top of it. We will be a forever customer and highly recommend checking them out. I know my family will be back every time we visit LA. read more

The half portion is a great choice for lunch on a summer day. You'll be able to get back out to the beach instead of longing for a nap! Poke nachos: Sauce was good. Cucumber, onion, Avocado mix was nice. Wonton chips nice and crunchy. Overall. Nice, light snack. Lots of beers on tap and the pizzas look yummy.
