This used to be the downstairs of Michael's. And welcome Massimo's!! This is a proper Italian pitch!!! Interior was renovated with classy subdued tones, but limited seating, so make reservations for an excellent meal! This review is just for dessert, which consisted of one of the best tiramisu I've ever had! The torta della nonna was well made with a nice flaky pastry, but it would have been perfect with just some more tartness from the lemon. Of course a double espresso was a mandatory accompaniment for me. I'm definitely coming back for a full meal, as the menu looks completely authentic and delectable . I see a very bright and delicious future for Massimo's!!!

Massimo is back! He took the best parts of Michael's and curated this cute, cozy spot just next door. There are only ~28 seats in the restaurant so reservations book up quickly. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food is wonderful. Full of flavor, not too much oil, and straightforward. We are so happy Massimo's is open!

Feel like a home cooking kitchen. Very inviting vibe. But sure to make reservations or try your luck on walk in. Service was good not great, we sat down around 445 just date night my wife and I. Three other table came in, 20 minutes after and got there bread service right away. No biggie, food order octopus & potatoes(delicious). Shaved Fennel & tangerine. (Delicious) and pasta special stuff short ribs pasta, really flavorful rich in sauce(delicious)

We loved the experience. The place had such a chill vibe. The food was amazing. Loved the crust of the pizzas and don't sleep on the butternut squash starter. Service is very friendly. Great place for a small birthday dinner.

Stepping in to Massimo's in like being welcomed in to a little restaurant in Italy. Everyone gave us a warm hello even though at 8pm on a Wednesday every table was full. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. I felt like everyone working really wanted to be there. Massimo came over to say hello soon after we were seated. You can tell he's proud of his restaurant and paying attention to all the details. We started with an arugula, fennel and Cara Cara salad. Get this!! I could eat it everyday. It was so light. They split it in back for us and a half portion was perfectly sized. Of course we ordered a pizza. His billowy crust and quality ingredients make it special. There were a number of specials not listed on the menu. We ordered the branzino from the specials. I would order again. Fish was light but potatoes made the dish hearty. And of course we had to get the lasagna. We ended with tiramisu. Lots of wines by the glass and they are very reasonably priced. I haven't seen a $10 glass of wine at a nice restaurant in ages. I can't wait to go back to get that salad again and try more.

This is a Naples institution in the making The pizza and pasta are spot on just like when it was Micheal's Pizza on Naples. Service is top notch. Ambience is a business casual Wine list is excellent for a small restaurant.

There's nothing better than seeing something new and exciting come to our neighborhood, and this restaurant is exactly that. From the moment you walk by, you can feel the energy, heart, and passion that Massimo and his team have poured into creating something truly special for our community. As a local business owner at The Studio O Salon down the street, I love watching our little corner of the neighborhood continue to grow with amazing small businesses -- and this one is such a welcome addition. The space is beautiful, inviting, and already buzzing with anticipation. You can tell it's going to be one of those places where friends gather, families celebrate, and memories are made. We are all so excited to have you here and can't wait to become regulars. Congratulations, Massimo and team -- cheering you on and wishing you huge success. Our community is lucky to have you!

Unfortunately, when we arrived, our table had already been given away, and we had to wait another 10 minutes or so. That said, once we got past the initial hiccup, things really turned around. The small waiting area had a cozy charm, and walking into the outdoor back patio--with a live saxophonist playing--felt genuinely magical. The food absolutely delivered. The spaghetti carbonara was spot on, and the lasagna was just as impressive. We finished with tiramisu and cannoli, and honestly, it felt like we were transported back to Italy. One thing I noticed immediately was how deceptive the space is from the outside. You walk in thinking you're stepping into a small Italian bistro, and then it just keeps unfolding room after room until you realize you're actually in a large, incredibly lively space. Each room we passed through seemed to gain even more energy. There seemed to be birthday dinners, family gatherings, and just large groups of friends celebrating everywhere, and the whole restaurant had a genuinely festive feel without feeling overly loud or chaotic. Service was fantastic. Our waitress felt less like restaurant service and more like a friend helping the whole table have a good night. Everything flowed really naturally. Timing was great. Drinks stayed full. Plates never piled up, and even little moments that could have felt imperfect somehow just added to the warmth of the experience. We ordered family style for the table and honestly every single thing disappeared. The Burrina pizza and Romana pizza were both excellent. The Caesar salad was fresh and balanced. The lasagna was a hit, and we also ordered a white pasta with fennel sausage that nobody could stop eating. We even had family visiting from Ecuador with us, and everyone cleaned their plates and had a great time. We skipped dessert because we had cake waiting at home, but judging by the number of tiramisus passing by our table, we may have made a tactical error there. The only real challenge is parking. Broadway parking is Broadway parking, and locals already know the situation near the beach can get rough quickly. If you live nearby, I'd honestly recommend Ubering or walking if possible. This immediately went onto my shortlist for large group dinners in Long Beach.

Visually, the burger was impressive and looked exactly like something you'd want to dig into. However, the salt level was overwhelming to the point where I genuinely could not finish it. What made matters worse was that our server was not attentive with refilling our waters, and when you're working through an extremely salty dish, hydration isn't optional. I left the meal feeling dehydrated and honestly a little frustrated. The bright spot of the visit was the Brussels sprouts, which were genuinely well done and showed some real kitchen care. If I were to return, I'd probably stick to the vegetable sides. For a restaurant with a 4 PM lull and minimal table traffic, there's no excuse for that level of inattentiveness. A simple water refill and a quick check in would have saved the experience. As it stands, the combination of an over salted entrée and absent service made for a tough sell on the value. If you're in the area craving a burger, you might want to save your money and head down the street to Louis Burger instead. Ellie's may shine in other areas; I've heard good things about the pasta, but this particular visit missed the mark.

It was tasty, but I just realized later it was missing the nduja sausage listed on the menu. For my entrée, I had the paccheri pasta with braised short rib. The beef itself was rich, tender, and full of flavor--reminded me of an Italian birria, which I loved. But the rigatoni tasted undercooked, which was disappointing. My fiancé ordered the tagliata, and wow--she definitely picked the better dish. The steak was perfectly seasoned, cooked to a beautiful medium rare, and paired with a silky potato purée that was absolutely delicious. Overall, it's a romantic spot with some standout flavors, but the small misses kept it from being a perfect experience.

I would give the food 4 stars but bumped it up to 5 because of the customer service. That was very much appreciated. This is a fun casual spot in 2nd and PCH shopping center, so you get 90 minutes of parking free here. You order at the counter, and they bring you the food pretty quickly after. You can eat inside or outside, both are lovely options. You basically pick your pasta type and sauce, so it's kind of a create-your-own-dish. They also have weekly specials and a few other specialty dishes on the menu. I will say, the lasagna looks to be the dish to get. The person next to me ordered it and the dish was massive. Looked delicious! I got the pappardelle bolognese. The bolognese didn't have the deepest flavor I've ever tried, but it was solid. I loved the beautiful plate that my pasta was served in. I would definitely come back here. I've eaten here a few times and the food is always exceptional. I have to call out that we had the focaccia, and I am a massive bread snob, and it was PHENOMENAL. Not greasy at all, gorgeous crust, fluffy interior, drizzled with a nice quality olive oil and served with a marinara I wanted to bathe in. Service is exceptional as always, the gals working were truly so sweet. We'll be back soon, this is truly such a gem.
