Food here is really good, and I've been back multiple times. My go-to favorites are the wings and the calamari both are consistently solid and definitely worth ordering every time. The ambience is nice, especially in the afternoon. It's a good spot to hang out, not too hectic, and you can actually enjoy the vibe. I'm not too sure how it gets at night, but during the day it's a great experience. Service has also been great. The waitresses are attentive and keep checking in to make sure everything's good, which makes the overall experience even better. My boyfriend and I didn't feel like cooking on a Monday night so we ventured to Legends. Loved having the whole place semi to ourselves. Every screen was on and there were folks at the bar and in the center dining area. We took advantage of the buy one get one free burger deal only available on Mondays. The caveat to that was that we also had to order an appetizer. For the appetizer, we got the pork ribs and they fell right off the bone!!! The flavor was great and the meat was so tender. For the burgers, boyfriend got the smashed burger with onion rings and I got the ABC burger with sweet potato fries. My boyfriend inhaled his burger and onion rings while I savored mine. Very cool place to be any day of the week! The crowd was very hyped watching the Masters. Thank you to our server, I wasn't able to catch her name but she was amazing and very attentive even though the place was absolutely packed! We got some Bacon Jalapeños to start, they were amazing! The Buffalo Chicken sandwich and ABC Burger are the absolute best choices we could've made. I have been coming to Legends for over 10 years and it has always been my favorite sports bar in Long Beach. Back when I was in college this was the place to go and honestly it still is. They have TVs everywhere so you can watch any game you want. The food is always good, the drinks are strong and the atmosphere is just fun and welcoming. The service has always been great too. I just went with my brother a couple weeks ago and we tried their taco challenge. If you get the spiciest taco you win a shirt. I ended up winning and got a T-shirt with a cold Modelo and it was perfect. Such a cool idea and so much fun. There is honestly nothing bad I can say about Legends. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was beyond disappointing. We were forced to wait outside in the blazing sun for nearly four hours before we were finally allowed inside. There was little communication from the staff about the wait, and no effort was made to accommodate or update customers. Unfortunately, things didn't improve once we got in. The service was just as bad as the wait. Our server was inattentive, it took an unreasonable amount of time to get drinks and food, and we felt like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. After spending hours waiting, we expected at least decent service, but instead the entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. It is decorated with tons of sports jerseys and equipment, and there is even a life size racecar hanging on the wall. Restrooms are on the second floor. We were seated and our waitress was friendly throughout the whole meal. We ordered the loco moco burger and the Anarchy burger (pineapple, kimchi, and pulled pork on top of burger patty). Both burgers were very tasty, with juicy meat, toasted buns, and flavorful toppings, making the longer wait time worth it. For $20 burgers, both came with a side, and I ordered sweet potato fries ($2 upcharge). We chose coleslaw for the other burger's side and it was light and refreshing. I had a wonderful time for multiple matches of the World Cup at Legends. The food and service are always excellent and I am thankful that they chose to clamp down on people who clearly lack respect for anything or anyone. I have seen crowds get out of hand plenty of times in my life and there is nothing enjoyable or cool about fearing for your safety. Especially, kids and families are always present at Legends. They reacted immediately to any craziness and then they were proactive about making sure it doesn't happen again. $50 security deposit was a small price to pay to stop the raining of beer showers that certain fans kept trying to make a thing! I am not a Sports Person. When the sports announcer asked, Who's ready for some football? I never answered because the question was not for me, but, for people who can hear that referee whistle. But I went here on Super Bowl Sunday, for about ninety minutes, to experience a moment of sports fandom reach a fever pitch. I mean, I am an omnivore but I still would attend a vegeterian festival that celebrated the prophesied arrival of the golden squash. Why? Experiences need participation with an open heart and mind, not unwavering subscription to the belief system at the core of the event, with exception of course. I would not sit to view a public execution to know the chant of a ravenous crowd or smell the odor of fresh burnt flesh. As I walked to the spot, I saw people, in the sidewalk seeing the central big screen of the place. I immediately thought that their was no more room in the joint, it had reach capacity of football enthusiasts. I approached and I was wrong, the deterrent was a 20 dollar cover fee, which I wanted to give, to again be one with the crowd of revelers. The process to give the 20 dollars, via Zelle, two a minute or two, and the way the bounces acted about it, made it seem like I was a guest trying to enter the locker room to get my jersey signed. I know I might be being precious, but, those type of interactions, where it seems like my ability to pay or willingness to pay, are questioned in hard ways, makes me a bit angry. I mean, why do I have to show a hard receipt, before, I am treated with a hospitality. Perhaps that is a bouncers way, everyone is a non-client, until, they proof they belong. Later that day a group of four girls were deterred by the price of entry. So the bouncers might just be tired of peoples questions and tricks so they are simply just processing at the door, not welcoming guests. As soon as I entered I was, like wow, these are a lot of televisions showing the "big game." For a moment I imagined being part of an Orwellian novel, and thinking if all I had to see was big games on a constant loop, I would likely learn to enjoy what once was negligible for me. The power of propaganda was illuminated by these tv screens. The whole place was saturated with sports memorabilia, from bikes, to jersey, to balls of all kinds- I am asssuming a puck falls into the umbrella of sports ball. I wondered the collective worth of all the sports trophies, here and if someone robbed the joint would all the memorabilia amount to much or be formally assessed to have the same value as a garage full of purchased stuff that never was really used. The place had a club vibe. People were watching the game, for sure, but others were mingling, talking and dress to peacock. I found my spot in the sea of sports fan, and then a guy approaches me for advise. A girl, had asked him to bring a guy she thought was cute over to her. He helped her out, but brought the wrong boy. He got confused because they were both wearing a blue hat. The boy she actually wanted, the guy explained, already had a girl. He wanted to know how he could remove the guy from the situation. I looked at the guy and the girl, and they were having, what seemed to be an enjoyable conversation. They were laughing, bodies turned to each other, the girl did not seem to be uncomfortable. I explained to him that it seems like it would work out. The guy was aiming to say hello and was up to the girl (I avoided the take his shot pun) and the girl was being polite and engaging, and if the chemistry was not right, the fizzle would be felt, I assumed. And eventually the guy did get up, and left. The guy who approached me understood that sometimes the best way to get fix a mistake is not to get involved, and the solution would rise, on its own flow. I share this to highlight that in some occassions no referee is needed. Would I go here again? No. I am not into sports and this is a themed restaurant for sports people. Go here if you are a sports person, it can be easily understood as to why this is the move. read more

Disappointed by the lack of good service and inability to hear the game we came to watch. Reminded me of a college town bar run by high school students. Came Sunday morning to a half empty hall to watch an important game. They had multiple games showing on their screens but oddly chose to play elevator music inside and refused to pick our game, or any game for that matter, as the main audio. Moreover, waitress got my order wrong and then tried blaming it on me before correcting. Had to hold my hand up for assistance since our waitress was nowhere to be found but also watched other waitresses just walk by because we weren't sitting at their table. Just an overall frustrating experience where clearly you knew you should have gone somewhere else. Football Thursday here was soooo fun. We got there about 30 minutes before the football ball game ; seating was very quick . My group went to Legends Sports Bar to watch the Mexico vs. England game. Before getting in line, we spoke with the host desk and specifically asked about coming in for the earlier game. We were told that if we came in to watch the first game, we would not be allowed to stay for the Mexico match. Based on that information, we decided to leave and come back before kickoff. We arrived early and waited in line for nearly two hours. After we had already been waiting for about an hour and a half, an older staff member finally came down the line and announced there would be a $70 charge for standing room, with $50 refunded afterward. This was never mentioned before we got in line, despite everyone already investing so much time waiting. It was especially confusing because there had been no charge at all for people attending the Brazil vs. Norway game just before. Before the Mexico game started, staff also put tarps over the patio windows so people outside couldn't see in. Interestingly, they didn't do this for the earlier game. It gave the impression that management was making last-minute decisions to maximize profits from the Mexico crowd. When we finally reached the host stand, our party of five was told there were only two seats left. Two of us took those seats while the other three agreed that two would do the standing-room option and one would wait. Once we sat down, we immediately noticed there were two empty seats at the table directly in front of us. While our friends were still outside trying to figure out the confusing standing-room process, the couple behind us in line, who were white and wearing England jerseys, were brought inside, seated at those two empty seats, and did not appear to have to pay the same standing-room fee. Those seats were never offered to members of our group. No explanation was given as to why they were treated differently. The standing-room policy itself was a complete mess. The staff at the host stand didn't even seem to know how it worked. They took customers' IDs as part of the standing-room process, so we asked how they were expected to order drinks without identification. The older staff member told us the bartenders would serve them anyway without checking their IDs, which didn't make sense and raised concerns about how they were handling alcohol service. To make matters worse, after our friends were finally allowed inside 15-20 minutes later, they stood next to where we were sitting and were immediately told they couldn't stand there. So what exactly were they paying $70 for if they weren't even allowed to stand anywhere? Overall, the entire experience felt incredibly disorganized, inconsistent, and like a last-minute money grab. On top of that, the way our group was treated compared to the couple behind us left us feeling singled out. While I can't say with certainty what the reason was, the inconsistent treatment gave us the impression that race may have played a role in how we were treated. Whether intentional or not, that's how the experience felt to us, and it left a very negative impression. After waiting nearly two hours, dealing with constantly changing policies, and feeling like we weren't being treated fairly, we decided to leave and watch the game somewhere else. I expected a fun atmosphere for such a big match, but instead experienced confusion, poor organization, inconsistent rules, and treatment that left our group feeling unwelcome. I have been a loyal customer of this establishment for the last ten years, but after my experience tonight, I will not be returning. While my wife and her friend were dancing--in the exact same manner as many other patrons have done for years--she was singled out and asked to leave by a "manager" named Sean. His behavior was unprofessional, unprovoked, and racially motivated. It is incredibly disappointing to see a long-term customer treated this way. Upstairs bartender thinks she's entitled to a tip. I witnessed a rude bartender announce that someone did not tip her to the whole bar section. It was classless and childish behavior. Came here this past weekend on Saturday to catch the Dodger game. It was fairly busy, but my friend and I were able to find a spot at the bar. Service was friendly and prompt. Shout out to the bartender Ryan for giving us recommendations on food. The chicken sandwich and the wings were delicious. We asked about it and our waitress went to talk to the tall, skinny, man with a baseball cap who had been one of the bartenders all night. We should have known when we walked into the restaurant and they didn't have enough menus for our group of 3 adults that it wasn't a good sign. It wasn't super slammed in here or anything, we sat right away and it wasn't a full house, yet it was 25-30 minutes before anyone greeted us. It was 55 minutes before we even got waters/sodas. And it was well over an hour and a half before anyone ate. After that time frame, they brought one meal out for my son (and not my daughter) and then 20 minutes later, we stopped our server to ask if the rest of our food was coming out and she acted confused and said she would check. She then brought the rest of our food and the plates were piping hot, which means they were sitting in the window for a long time just not being ran out. There was never any apology for the terrible service. Even at the end of the meal when our kids had been so well behaved for hours but started to fully lose it in the end, the server still took so long to get us closed out. Bad service aside, the food was actually pretty decent. Typical bar food, but not bad. The ambiance is cool, lots of TVs and the high ceilings. There are so many places to choose from on this street and service like this just really prevents me from wanting to choose it again. The fried pickles were crispy and had great crunch. The jalapeño ranch goes perfectly with the pickles. The potato skins are crispy and packed with sauce- they are delicious and pack good spice.
