Great service! From checking in to dining. I had mistakenly reserved to another location thinking I ruined my husband's birthday dinner. Vanessa the Hostess did an amazing job with referring options as open seating or even checking if they had a later reservation that was not booked yet! With that alone goes to show the QUALITY service that's given from start to finish!!!! Thanks again Ruth's Chris in Long Beach read more

Twenty-two years. Two decades, plus a couple of stubborn, beautiful years tossed in for good measure. Today marked the milestone of my marriage to a truly wonderful woman, and to celebrate, we decided to do it right. We headed to Ruth's Chris Steak House for a dinner that turned out to be as memorable as the years that brought us here. From the moment we walked in, the evening had a special glow. The food, as expected, was absolutely outstanding--sizzling plates of perfection, buttery and rich, the kind of meal that makes you slow down and actually taste every bite. But what truly elevated the night from a great dinner to an unforgettable experience was our server, Katlyn. Hospitality is an art form, and Katlyn is a master. She had that rare gift of being attentive without ever hovering, appearing just when you needed a refill or a fresh side plate. Somewhere between the appetizers and the entrées, she caught sight of our quiet celebration, smiled warmly, and wished us a happy anniversary. Then, she asked the ultimate question: "What's the secret to 22 years?" It's a question that makes you pause. In a few seconds, you're mentally flipping through the photo album of your life together--the triumphs, the quiet mornings, the laughter through hard times, and the countless compromises. Before I could even fully formulate my answer, Katlyn was back to making the night even better. She picked up on my drink preferences and recommended a special Old Fashioned tailored just for me. When it arrived, it was mixed to absolute perfection--a rich, warming toast to the woman sitting across from me. As we sat there, sipping our drinks, enjoying the incredible food, and basking in the comfort of each other's company after all this time, I thought about Katlyn's question. What is the secret? Maybe it's not some grand, hidden formula. Maybe it's just choosing the same person, over and over again, through every season of life. And maybe, on a Tuesday night celebrating 22 years, the secret is simply finding yourself in a booth at Ruth's Chris, with a world-class Old Fashioned in hand, looking across the table at the woman who makes it all worthwhile, while someone like Katlyn takes care of the rest. Here's to 22 years. And here's to many more. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a graduation lunch (a little late posting this review). We had reservations for a party of seven and only waited about five minutes to be seated. It wasn't too crowded, and the ambiance was elegant and relaxing. I started with the French onion soup, followed by steak, shrimp, and garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert, I had cheesecake. There were two setbacks. First, I ordered my steak well done, but it arrived medium rare. While I usually prefer medium, I had specifically requested well done. I don't like sending food back, but I asked if they could cook it a little longer which they did. The second setback was the service. We had many moments where our server did not check on us- including after our food was brought to our table. We had to wait several times for him to check on us, even though he walked past our table without saying anything. The deduction of the star are for those two setbacks. Other than that, everything was fine and I would be open to returning since the food was good. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Good place for happy hour. The place a friend and I'd originally planned to go to for happy hour was closed for a private event so we had to pivot. This place was right around the corner and we noticed that they had a happy hour (Sun-Fri, 4-6pm) so decided to stop in. It was early so there were plenty of seats available throughout the restaurant. We opted for a couple of spots at the bar. It was a nice-looking place, no doubt popular with conventioneers with expense accounts, but they had some pretty good deals on their happy hour menu. I wasn't up for alcoholic drinks at that time so I just got a soda with bitters and lime, but my friend got a glass of their Happy hour red wine. I forget what it was, but it was nice. We shared the Goat cheese artichoke dip and a Seared ahi--both very good. The bartender was very nice, offering more bread for our dip when she noticed that we'd run out. Certainly not cheap even at happy hour, but good quality and service. read more

Service was outstanding. Our server Isaac was exceptional as were the support staff. Even the manager stopped by to check up on us. This time we opted for the $60 3 course meal. It was too much food and excellent taste. I had French onion soup (9/10), Stuffed Chicken (10/10), mashed potatoes (7/10) and cheesecake (10/10). The warm bread and butter were very good. The wine selection was good. I am heading back there soon. read more

From the moment we arrived, Anthony, the manager, and his team made us feel welcomed. Anthony greeted us with a big smile and a handshake and immediately made us feel like family. Now, there was a funny moment... Anthony would occasionally speak directly to Justin and forget that Justin is deaf. And Justin, being Justin, would just laugh and nod his head like he heard every word. We all got a good laugh out of it. Then there was Isaac, our waiter, who took excellent care of us throughout the evening. His service was attentive, personable, and genuine. We even exchanged some travel stories and information, which made the experience feel even more personal. We truly enjoyed having Isaac take care of our table. And then came the FOOD! We took advantage of the $60 three-course menu and upgraded our steak cuts--and let me tell you... Those steaks arrived SIZZLING, buttery, tender, and cooked to perfection. That first cut went through the steak like slicing through butter. DELISH! For the drinks, I enjoyed a Smoky Brown Butter Old Fashioned , Wifey enjoyed her Pomegranate Martini , and our daughter went with a Lemon Drop/Strawberry Martini. Justin kept it classic with his Coke. Great food? Absolutely. Great drinks? Absolutely. But what made the evening memorable was the experience. You don't have to wait for a special occasion to create a special experience. Sometimes it's about the people you're with, the effort you put into the moment, the service you receive, and taking the time to simply enjoy the table you're sitting at. Anthony, Isaac, and the entire Ruth's Chris Long Beach team--thank you for helping us celebrate Justin's 29th birthday in style! To another successful dining experience! read more

Move over, Anaheim--Long Beach is the new favorite! Having frequented the Anaheim and Marina del Rey locations, I can say with confidence: the Long Beach Ruth's Chris is in a league of its own. The interior is stunningly elegant, featuring gorgeous chandeliers and a layout that feels both grand and intimate. We sat in a smaller, more private room which was perfect for our celebration. The Logistics: It's tucked back a bit, so keep your eyes peeled. They have their own dedicated lot (no valet), and they validate, which makes the parking fee much more reasonable. The Food: We started with the small seafood tower the quality was exquisite and incredibly fresh. In a lovely touch of hospitality, the chef even sent out complimentary crab cakes! For the main, I highly recommend the Ruth's Special: a 6oz filet and lobster tail that was seasoned to perfection. My husband's T-bone and my son's garlic chicken were both superb. We did have a small hiccup with our first round of lemon drops, but the staff was so gracious and the vibe was so good that it didn't dampen the evening. Definitely our new go-to location! read more

I love this steakhouse. Their food is consistently good. We always return. Tonight I Had a New York steak and my husband ordered the rib eye. Both cooked to medium-rare but completely different flavors once done. I love the density of a New York over the fatty rib eye although most people say it's more flavorful. It comes out perfect a nice little crispy outside and pink in the middle.. We love that the steak comes out on a sizzling hot plate! For our side we shared asparagus with hollandaise sauce to keep it simple. I kept dipping my steak in the sauce but there was no need to it had so much flavor. And don't forget the fresh complimentary bread that is brought to the table before you're served your food. So delicious! We passed on drinks tonight and stuck with our water. This location is a bit small, it was a packed house tonight and the place filled up quickly. However it never gets too loud, music is playing at perfect volume to keep it intimate and I love the way they open their windows at sunset and the golden hour shines bright inside, seems romantic to me. I also recommend the Chilean sea bass! Phenomenal. Great place for dates and special occasions. Looking forward for another visit soon! read more

Ambiance coming in was decent as I sat in the bar area. Service was a little less high quality than usual coming in at this location and others. But they were still mindful which is appreciated. Food quality however was disappointing, a 8oz Filet w/Shrimp was ordered rare and came out nearly well done and the shrimp was so overcooked it was tough to cut through. The stuffed chicken was so overcooked it tasted like I was eating rubber and had pieces that tasted burnt. When asked how the food came out I didn't bother to say otherwise given their kitchen was already closed. Pretty disappointing on the kitchens end :( read more

We are practically neighbors with Ruth and have never dined here even though we've walked by a thousand times. We've been to 555, Queensview, and this place takes the cake when it comes to steak! (That rhymed). I ordered the two 4oz petite with shrimp and a side of brussels. My partner ordered a 24oz t-bone and the lobster Mac n cheese. All of it was delicious! The steak was cooked to perfection, literally pink and tender. They made it without the butter since I needed it gluten and dairy free but still the meat was seasoned perfectly and they managed to get a crust. Our server was Serena and she was a delight! She made us smile and laugh and just added sparkle to our experience. And it was our anniversary so the sparkle was appreciated. We will definitely return and hood to be seated with Serena again! Check out the photos and make your res today! read more

Came to celebrate Fathers Day last Friday. Decided on eating at the bar for once. Adrian was our server. He was beyond attentive. He was very through, fast, kind and knew how to keep the room alive. We could see that he was attending to everyone in the room. He never looked like he had too much to handle. He served with grace and professionalism. He made sure we had utensils, napkins and that we were paid attention to at all of the right times. Her service was impeccable. Christopher also helped that night. Beyond a great team together. We will definitely be back. We had a great time. The bar area was super clean. Staff were presentable. The front staff were also very nice. There is plenty of parking in the same building. This place is so yummy. I had been wanting to try and as soon as I saw they had a pre fixed menu for $60.00 I had to go. I got the ribeye, I split it that's why it looks tiny but it's so delicious. It wasn't greasy and the butter made it a thousand times better. I also tried the filet mignon and shrimp. Tender filet cooked perfectly. Caesar salad was perfect. Creamy dressing and crunchy lettuce and croutons. The mashed potatoes were so creamy. I could eat a lot of that. For dessert we got a small cheesecake. It was a perfect way to end the email. I want to go back and try the bread pudding. This place is pretty pricey for my budget so I would go back on a special occasion. I recommend it read more

For my birthday, my lady bought me a New York steak when we ate at Ruth's Chris that was seasoned so deliciously that to put any sauce on it would've been disrespectful to the chef, the cow and New York State--a SLAP YO MAMA--Kind of disrespectful. And when I tell you, honey, I still have whatever is opposite of PTSD of tasting that steak...Man, listen! Shout out to my server, Ian and the manager, Dylan for making my July 4th birthday SUPREME!!! Normally, we get the steak sandwich with béarnaise sauce, which is CHEF's KISS--amazing, but my lady got that this time and I ordered the New York steak. We've been to several Ruth's Chris locations over the years--including Manhattan, Roosevelt Field (Long Island), Beverly Hills, Marina del Rey, and Pasadena. Pasadena has always been one of our favorites, but the Long Beach location has definitely earned a spot at the top of our list. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the ambiance was warm and elegant. What really stood out was the staff--our servers were professional, attentive, and genuinely made the experience feel special. Another fantastic Ruth's Chris experience. Came to attend a MASA seminar and we were treated to a lunch. Ordered the filet with shrimp. The French bread was warm and filling. Their house salad was huge and came in an elongated bowl. We had creamy mashed potatoes and overcooked broccoli for the table. Then came the filet in a sizzling hot plate. It was a little tough so I think it was a sirloin and not a filet mignon. At the end of the meal, I was full but wasn't impressed. The service, on the other hand, was amazing. They were very attentive and accommodating. The woman at my table complained about her steak being inedible. They tried their best to pacify her even giving her a shot of vodka. She probably just needed a drink. read more

Another great visit to Ruth Chris! Consistently great food and service! We started at the bar for Happy Hour. Ww only ordered cocktails as we had dinner reservations. The bar area is very large. Bar stools wrapped around on all sides and some high top tables. The Happy Hour and Bar menu has a lot of options! Food as always was excellent. Their signature serving steaks in sizzling butter never gets old! Several of us had filets and the others, including myself had the rib eye. After some appetizers and salad, I was surprised I could eat anything but the steak aroma and that sizzling butter called me in! We shared mashed potatoes and creamed spinach as sides. Of course we all left with to go containers to enjoy the next day! Service is always exceptional! At the bar, the nicest staff. It's probably more of a 3.5 star instead of 4 star experience at this location. The food was great, consistent with the other locations we've visited in the past. However, the dirty cutlery as well as not very genuine waitress (nice lady, but kept saying "you're welcome" prematurely and to things that completely did not warrant it, which was weird. Also, she would start speaking before we finished our sentences when we would make simple requests like getting some water) made the experience slightly strange read more

Ruth's Chris Steak House - Cutlery with gunk on there - Steakhouses Near Me - Long Beach, California

Dear Ruth's Chris' Manager at this location, Your reservation checker should be reassigned! She's costing you money and led to a rather unfortunate experience! Let me explain. I had scheduled a table (via open table) for a Friday Night for 5 at 7:30pm on a Friday night weeks in advance as I was in town for a convention and a business dinner. I found out day of around noon that we were asked to add one to our reservation with our client. So I went to open table to modify my reservation to 6, however it said that was no longer an option at 7:30pm. I get it. It's a Friday night, prime dinner time slot, in Long Beach on a nice weather day and a huge convention in town. They might actually be booked up. But I figure I'd call and ask because you can't always trust open table. So then about 2 hours later by pure chance the restaurant calls me to confirm my reservation! What luck, what service, and a nice surprise. I say things like "I'm so glad you checked in. Yes I'll be coming. By any chance can I add one to my reservation." Because in my head, and most people would think this way I think, if you have a person reservation you are probably at a round table or booth or something that should fit 6. I am unaware of any pentagon tables at most restaurants! So I go on with my reservation checker, "I'm not sure of your seating chart or table arrangement but if you have it figured out and we're at a larger circle table or something else could I add one more". And I get an absolute hard No and that it's not possible at your existing time. So I foolishly accept that answer thinking open table must have been right, it's Friday night, it'll be busy and crowded I guess when we get there. So I have to call my client and tell my coworker that the restaurant unfortunately can't handle another person. I even joke with them if we show up and at a 6 person table... So our plus one had to go find other dinner plans and spend their money elsewhere. So fast forward to the actual reservation (for 5). We show up a hair early. Everything is nice. The staff greats us. I hear them even ask someone in another party to remove their baseball cap when heading to the dining room. How fancy and appreciative that there is a dress code they follow. And when our party is finally there we head back behind the check in desk to the dining room. It's beautiful, it's stunning, it's partially full but surely other parties are still arriving. And we get to our table and it's a @&$&& 6 person rectangular table. And now I'm pissed. And I've got my coworkers looking at my like what is happening and mouthing to me this is unbelievable. So we are all in a bit of shock. And I do mention this to our hostess who is seating us that I was told there was no way we could add an extra seat to our party. She apologies profusely which I appreciate the recognition of the mistake and having to deal with an issue her reservation checking coworker has left her to deal with. So the good news the 6th spare chair was an excellent spot to hold my client's bag. Not a very good conversationalist unfortunately and certainly the bag didn't meet the dress code of the dining room. So in the end we had what I would think is a modestly nice, work expensed, and decent spend per seat. We don't go crazy on a drinks or a bottle of wine, but I suppose we could have easily. But we only really starting parting when there are 6 of us! Still A total of $756 or $153 dollars a person is a nice meal for the night. And without taking up another table and increasing your turnover yield you could have easily had another $150-200 of income the other night with little effort or additional overhead work. And also worth mentioning by the time we went through our meal there were numerous tables available that never filed up. You had more tables still available! As for an actual review of the food. Overall the actual dining experience was very pleasant. This is certainly on a normal day a solid 4 star place. But for today's review you get docked for my embarrassment I had to endure with my clients at dinner gets you a 2.5-3 star review. Our actual waiter for the night was fantastic. Attentive.l, great appetizer suggestions, thanks again for the ravioli suggestions. A tad funny. Refilled my delicious Arnold Palmer numerous times. Kept the table clean. Took care of our clients food allergy concerns. (Huge plus for bringing out the allergy free items entirely separate from the other dishes) And rattled off the dessert list numerous times for us. He gets an A+ and a gold star. And everything we ordered was delicious, well cooked and tasty. read more

Dessert- chocolate cake nice concentration of chocolate goodness. Service - excellent and not overbearing. Price - good for Dine in La. $80 Restroom - clean and fancy hand towels. Went with my wife, stepdaughter, her gf, and my in-laws and nephew for my stepdaughters birthday. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted and treated well. We were immediately greeted by our server and we ordered cocktails and drinks. I ordered the brown butter old fashioned. To sweet for my tastes though the Smokey flavor was great. My usual is the Dirty Goose and I think I'll stick to that. Instantly we had bread and butter and water followed by our drinks. Everyone was enjoying their drinks and then our order was taken. The server did a fantastic job of explaining the menu and various options. Wife and I can't eat so much so we split our meals. Ordered a Cesar salad, 11 oz filet and jumbo lobster tail, and the sweet potato casserole. They make it into two salads when you share and the split is more than enough for both of us. The Cesar had something off this time. I think they changed the dressing. I'd be happier with the wedge, but my wife dislikes blue cheese. The entrees and sides arrived. The sweet potato casserole was amazing as always, the lobster tail was larger than their normal side offering though I question that it's really 7 oz. It was tender and tasted great. Normally order the rib eye but ordered the gilt this time. Perfect medium rare, very tender and flavorful. Everyone else enjoyed their dinners greatly. They had also spread little decorations on the table for my stepdaughters bday and greeted her as the person having the birthday at both the host desk and by the server. They brought her out an additional desert. All told, the food was delicious and the service was top notch. The server and staff really went above and beyond and were very friendly and polite. Fantastic evening and great job by both the kitchen and wait staff. read more

I came the week they first opened and told myself I wouldn't be back because the service was terribly slow and the food was just okay. Fast forward almost three years later, and we decided to give Ruth's Chris another try, and I'm glad we did because the experience was much better. We had reservations for 6:30 PM and waited about 10 minutes for our table, which wasn't a big deal. Once seated, the service was a huge improvement. Our waitress was very attentive and offered great recommendations. We ordered the 3-course prix fixe menu ($60). I had the Caesar salad, a 6 oz filet with shrimp, one side (roasted Brussels sprouts), and classic cheesecake for dessert. Everything was delicious. Surprisingly, my favorite item was the Caesar salad. Parking is a little tricky. We called ahead and were told there is a parking structure underneath the restaurant at 180 Seaside, which was helpful to know. read more

One of my favorite steakhouses . Made reservations for a Saturday night for my best friend's birthday party of 8 and it's was okay. The reservation was made for 830 maybe because it was a little busy we waited about 20 minutes for our table no biggie. I like the mode lighting and semi intimate setting . And the confetti and customs menus was such a nice touch. I had a citrus honey martini ; it was good I would have liked it to be a bit stronger and little more honey flavor My meal I got the Ruth classic which comes with a starter , entree & side and dessert. I got filet and shrimp with creamed spinach everything was cooked to perfection . My only issue was the timing of food . Was also told they were out of lobster Mac and cheese but there was lobster for entrees. I got my filet and shrimp and then about 20 or so minutes got my creamed spinach and mac & cheese that was ordered for the table . So I did eat my steak first because i didn't want it to get cold. I wasn't a fan my family food came out in increments of 15 minutes because while others waited for everyone food to arrive their food would no longer be hot/warm. read more

We had a great evening here. Thank you to our amazing server in the bar area Julio for taking care of us! We will be back!

Came here to celebrate my 38th birthday, and Ruth's Chris absolutely delivered. From start to finish, everything felt special. The 16oz ribeye was hands down the best part of the night -- perfectly cooked, juicy, flavorful, and served sizzling just the way it should be. If you're coming here for steak, this is the one to order. Worth every bite. We also enjoyed the seared scallops, au gratin potatoes, classic Caesar salad, and warm bread with butter -- all solid and satisfying. Cocktails were strong and well made (the margarita and Old Fashioned were great choices). To top it off, the staff surprised me with a birthday dessert that said "Happy Birthday," which was such a thoughtful touch and made the night feel extra special. Great food, attentive service, and a perfect spot for celebrations. We'll definitely be back -- especially for that ribeye. read more

Been quite a while since I've come by for Happy Hour. First off, I was delighted to see Anthony still behind the bar! He gave us their updated Happy Hour menu! I like the new choices albeit their hamburger is not an HH item, it remains on the bar menu. Huge servings of truffle fries (looked great) waltzed by but we checked out other things including the new pork bites (great); the Ahi tuna (always good), the new meatballs (yummy) and the calamari (bit too sweet for me). Their house cabernet sauvignon is really quite charming. Not too bold but plenty of flavor. Service always good. The bar generally fills up at Happy Hour (but the high tops are HH eligible!) but the place stayed quite full past 6pm. HH runs 4-6 Monday-Friday plus Sunday. How cool is that! read more

Came for my birthday:) waitress was very nice, they decorated the table with some cute confetti and had a happy birthday with my name on the menu. We ordered quite a lot of food. The passion fruit martini was delicious, the Brussels sprouts are incredible, my favorite side dish, my least favorite, which I don't recommend is the Mac and cheese. No good. The mashed potatoes my kids enjoyed, Au gratin potatoes were good. We also ordered the spicy shrimp appetizer, which was delicious along side with the cucumber bell pepper salad. My daughters ordered the crab cakes, which they loved. The main event was the tomahawk, which was my first time having it and to be quite honest, there really wasn't anything special about it and i wouldn't recommend. I'd go with a different cut of meat. They brought me a delicious cheesecake with happy birthday written in chocolate with some fresh berries. Over all it was really nice. read more
