There are two entrances, one for the saloon and one for the restaurant. Enter the restaurant on the left side. When you walk in it's dimly lit and feels like expensive western decor. We've been here years ago and thought it was ok. We decided to come back because my friend got me a gift card. Overall, the service, food, and drinks were excellent. We each ordered a cocktail. They were pretty well balanced so you didn't taste the alcohol much. We ordered two appetizers and dessert since we weren't that hungry. The beef carpaccio was delicious. It had white alba clamshell mushrooms, wild arugula, black truffle, and pecorino romano. They could have done a lighter hand on the salt. The ahi tuna was one of the specials and it sounded good with the avocado mousse and tangerine slices. It was fresh, zesty, and bright. The crème brûlée' was a nice finish for our meal. We had a very enjoyable dinner at The Ranch. The steak was outstanding--juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The scallops were also excellent, tender and beautifully prepared. The lobster mac and cheese, mushrooms, and fish were slightly salty for our taste. The fish was nicely presented, but the texture wasn't as tender as we had hoped. Overall, the quality of the food was very good, and the steak alone is worth coming back for. The scallops were another highlight of the meal. The policies here need revisiting. We were a party of 7 on a Thursday evening. One member of our party was going to be an hour late. The hostess refused to seat us until all 7 were present, despite the fact that the restaurant was more than half-empty. Not even exaggerating. She said we could either sit at a table for 6 now, or wait for the last person to arrive and be seated at a table for 7. Again, if it had been busy I could understand the rationale...but it was not. Furthermore, we would have ordered more apps and cocktails while waiting for our final guest, but whatever. Once we were all present and seated (again, lots of empty tables around us), we ordered a bunch of apps, salads, cocktails, glasses of wine, entrees, desserts, etc. Since we had a lot of apps, several of us split entrée s (this becomes important later). The food and service were fine but not memorable, especially for the price. All told, the bill was over $700 before tip. After our meal, we walked next door to the saloon, also part of The Ranch. The bouncer asks for our IDs and a $10 cover charge per person. We tell him we just ate at the restaurant. He asks to see the itemized bill (???) and tells us because we only ordered 5 entrees, he can only comp 5 cover charges. Wait, what? We just dropped $700 but because it wasn't in the form of entrées, it doesn't count? Ok, fine. We pay the $20, get our wrists stamped, and go inside. It's country line dancing night - fun, right? The problem is, unless you are on the dance floor (which means you have to know the dances), there is nowhere to sit, because EVERY stool, seat, and table are paid seats. You need to reserve seats and then be a paying customer in those seats. Sigh. So instead we ended up standing in the corner watching the dancing for 1.5 hours. Not fun. After that, we decided to head out. We exited, I paid the valet ($8 plus a $5 tip). As we drove away, one of my friends realizes she is missing a ring...she thinks it must've fallen off after washing her hands in the bathroom. We turn around and try to re-enter the saloon to look for her ring in the bathroom. The bouncer says we have to pay a cover, doesn't recognize us, and doesn't believe our story about the missing ring, even though the valet recognized us from literally 2 minutes ago. Fortunately our wrists were stamped so he had to let us back in. We live in South OC and there are a lot of high-end restaurants to choose from. If you're looking for a great steak house, I recommend Mastro's, Bourbon, Vaca, Selanne, Ocean 48 (don't let the name fool you), or Rare Society. If you're looking for line dancing, try Swallows Inn or In Cahoots. Bottom line: DO NOT go to The Ranch, as their policies, practices, and prices are unwarranted. You can do much better elsewhere. read more

I flew in to the OC airport to visit family and friends. I used Yelp to find this gem. My friend and I came Here for dinner and saw that there was a country dancehall club on the other side. I didn't pack my boots , or else I'd check it out. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. Nice comfortable booths and chairs. Great full bar with pricy and less expensive options. The waiter we had was nice and knowledgeable about the food and the farm to table service. Everything we had was fresh and uniquely plated. Our meal with tip was just under $300 but well worth it for the ambience and fresh food . This place would be perfect for special occasions , anniversary dinners or if you have the $$ any time because their menu changes often. Next time I'm in the area , I'll be back. read more

We finally made it over to The Ranch, and we left impressed!! First of all, be sure to have a chunk of cash saved and ready to go, because it is definitely pricey. We were not planning on getting cocktails but they ended up sounding so good. I got the Rhubarb Rendezvous and Steven got - I think it was called Now You See Me. Both delicious. We then opted for apps. Steven had the wedge salad and I got the corn and roasted peppers bisque. Absolutely delicious. Unfortunately my soup was on their main rotating menu that I was told changes every two to three weeks. Now you see me, now you don't I guess? The main menu changes also, but less frequently. I was very tempted to try the lamb on the short farm menu, but since I hadn't seen it on their site, I went in planning to get halibut, and I did. It was also delicious but I'm sure the lamb would have been too. Steven got the filet and what do you know? A restaurant that cooked it the way he wanted the first time. We followed our meal with their Milky Way dessert which was unique and their take on a milky way bar, and delicious. Zero complaints about our food and drinks. Service was top notch!! The best thing about this place isn't even the food but the amazing service you will receive! I came here with my fiancé for our 5th year anniversary dinner (which I made the resy the night prior) and it did not disappoint! Our server was so good at his job that I didn't even realize he slid my drink in front of me without me noticing. He was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. In terms of the food it's pretty on par with nice steakhouses. We ordered the lobster Mac n cheese, mushrooms, BLT salad, French onion soup, and the NY prime rib steak. They also have complimentary bread with multiple different flavors - the jalapeño cheese one was the best. Everything was very tasty. The French onion soup was decent at first but became quite potent after a while and became harder to finish since it was such a strong flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly and they even confirmed the color of the inside with us! At the end they had surprised us with a sweet treat on the house to celebrate our anniversary! Such a pleasant surprise which made the experience that much better. Another random bonus of dining here - if you show your receipt at the front door, you can enter their saloon for free. 5 stars for the service alone. Brian was fantastic from start to finish. Extremely attentive, always checking in, and I never had to ask for a refill once. His level of customer service is what I've always appreciated about The Ranch ever since Rito moved on. The service here has consistently been top notch and has never let us down. This visit, the food fell a little short of the usual standard. The fries weren't very crispy, although the sides were still delicious. My Delmonico, which is normally super juicy and tender, came out closer to medium instead of medium rare and was also a touch cold. That said, The Ranch is still one of my favorite spots in OC. We stumbled across The RANCH after our terrible experience at Flemings to celebrate my partner's birthday. We did not have reservations and just walked in, but the service was so friendly and inviting from the moment we walked in. Our server Samuel was fantastic, he paced our meal so perfectly, gave us good recommendations, and went out the way to engage in a conversation with us despite almost being closing time. They have an extensive wine list and different cocktails. They do have mocktails- so definitely ask your server! They give the best bread, bundled with a variety of flavors to taste from. We got their beef carpaccio, which had such a strong truffle flavor to it! The caesar salad was perfectly dressed and cheesy, and was a perfect complement with the french onion soup. I never tried french onion soup before, but the Ranch has def set my standards! It had so much depth of flavors, perfectly caramelized, you can taste the subtle alcohol in it as well. We got the NY strip to share, and they even offered to precut the steak for you into different plates. The steak was perfectly cooked and I loved the sides and sauce that come with it. For dessert, we opted for the ice cream, which we were told they have their own pastry chef who curates their menu for them. For our celebration, we were surprised with a creme brulee- which was top tier. I do believe you get a discount at their saloon for spending a certain amount dining in! Birthday dinner? Steak? The Ranch is the place to be. Husband wanted a steak dinner and chose this spot since he didn't want filet mignon and this place has several other cuts! We started our night off with some cocktails and before the meats came out we went for some wine. Drinks were very good. They also won an award for their wine last year! We started off with Escargot with some crispy toast. The buttery garlic escargot was so flavorful. We even dipped our bread into the sauce and asked for a spoon to scoop the garlic. They brought out complementary bread with different flavors. It's a wagon wheel of bread with Dark Squaw (our favorite), brioche, cranberry and walnut, multigrain, jalapeños, sweet Portuguese and sourdough with a side of rosemary butter. For our main we got 16oz prime angus New York strip and that came with a side of duck fat confit potatoes. I ordered from the farm menu of the prime rib that came with scallops potatoes. Both were delicious and huge. We couldn't finish it and had the rest to be taken as to go. Our side was Lobster Mac and Cheese and my goodness. It was so creamy and good. Stayed creamy and soft throughout our meal! You know that's some good quality Mac and cheese! Since it was my husband's bday they brought him out a crème brûlée on the house with a candle and written out on the plate "Happy birthday" very sweet. We also got their Old Fashioned Pecan Pie with vanilla bean ice cream. The crust on that pecan pie was actually very good. Very dense and thick layer of pecan on top but done very nicely. Splendid Food, but a Disappointing Experience ): We have frequented this restaurant many times over the years for anniversaries, work events, and celebrations, and have always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, this most recent visit left us very disappointed. We came for a family birthday and, despite making our reservation over a month in advance, were seated in the bar area instead of the main dining room. When we politely asked if we could sit in the main dining area, we were told our attire was "inappropriate" because we were wearing open-toed shoes, even though our group was dressed in dresses and business casual attire. The explanation was confusing. When we asked about the dress code, we were shown the website guideline prohibiting "beachwear." That term is vague and open to interpretation by their Caucasian hostesses, and it was unclear how our attire--particularly our Birkenstocks--fit that description. Another aspect that stood out during our visit was that many of the guests seated in the bar or back areas appeared to be people of color, while most of the guests seated in the main dining room appeared to be Caucasian. We can't know the restaurant's true seating policies or intentions, but the overall situation left us feeling uncomfortable and concerned about whether standards were being applied consistently. The food was delicious as always, but feeling welcomed and treated equally matters just as much as the meal itself. Tucker away in a business area lies brilliant cocktails and mouth watering steak. Been here a handful of times and the food is always amazing. We always get there prior to our reservation so we can grab a crafted cocktail at the bar. I've noticed that their bartenders are just a tad bit better when you order your drink at the bar prior to dinner, or maybe I'm just hungry. We always have to get an appetizer, this time we got escargot. One other time we got the crab claws and both were so good, but the highlight of the meal is always the steak. I mean if you're gonna have beef, it's best to go for the grass fed one right? That's quality down your tummy. Funny enough the best steak I ever had was from this place called the Ranch somewhere in Texas. That place inserted garlic cloves right into the meat! Sorry, ADHD kicked in again... We had an average experience here and I referring mainly because of the bartender. Upon arrival there are 2 entrances, one for the restaurant and one to the right for the saloon. We had time to spare so we asked to look inside the saloon and it made us feel like we were in another state with the country vibes and ambiance. There is a cover charge to get in or an entree per person at the restaurant can override the cover charge. The staff here was nice and told us the above and let us take a quick look. As I mentioned, we arrived about early, about 20 mins prior to our reservation, were waiting on some friends, and so we decided to wait at the bar area. I was looking for a sweeter drink with tequila and not many specialty options so I settled for a beer. The bartender wasn't very pleasant and seemed unimpressed by my selection because mezcal is not my thing. After we ordered, a couple arrived after 5 mins of us ordering, ordered, were served their wine before us without a bill. But my husband and I were served about 10 mins after this couple and immediately given the bill. It gave the impression she was either unconcerned with serving us or untrusting of our ability to pay. Either way, not the best first impression at the restaurant. Sincerely gave the "stuck-up" vibes here with the bartender. Once we were seated, we had the escargot, oysters, lobster mac n' cheese, seasonal mushrooms, and the New York demonic priced at $170. Total bill was $390 with tip included. Now my opinion on the food was mediocre, the steak was cooked to our liking of medium but not a flavor that warranted the cost. Oysters were sweet flavored and escargot had little taste even with all the garlic. I don't mind paying the cost but with the initial service and the food being mediocre for the price, not likely a place I would go again. The property is unassuming, located in a cluster of corporate offices and large parking lots you would never guess that there is a high end steakhouse w a line dance/ live music hall located there. The hype is legitimate - one of the nicest dinner experiences I've had in a while. I know this sounds crazy but for 2026 prices a date night dinner for 2 , including wine, cocktail, sparkling water, entrees and dessert for sub 3 bills makes this place one of the best restaurant experiences per dollar in OC. For comparison, the same experience at mastros in Costa Mesa would run you an extra hundo. *Pro tip, save your receipt to enter the saloon next door at no cost, and get ready to dance off them calories. Drinks at the saloon are around $15, less black tie and more leather boots kinda place. 5 shiny stars. read more

Though there are many other table's. our waiter was wonderful, we had the new York steak with added bone marrow crust, side of mushrooms, lobster Mac n cheese, for dessert we had the Milky Way and toffee bar. The only real complaint I have is the "lobster" Mac n cheese had virtually no lobster in it. The little lobster that was in it were very sparse and the sparse bits were the size of apple seeds. I've been to the ranch several times and I've always said that they are Michelin quality with the exception of this time it was just lacking. read more

After 12 years of living in Anaheim, decided to finally give The Ranch a try. We were celebrating a birthday, and honestly didn't have the gusto to drive to LA for a nice meal. The service was warm and professional. The waitstaff and hostess were welcoming. The space itself was dark, but fits the bill for a steakhouse Since it is an "upscale" restaurant, I will be holding the food to a higher standard. I don't often dine at steakhouses, but my frame of reference was my other event steakhouse experience at Carver Steak in Las Vegas... which I thought was just fantastic Now onto the food: Free bread. We arrived at 5 (early). I dunno what time the bread was baked.. but was pretty dry on the outside, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. Was fine. But not craveable. A few pieces were pretty inedible Appetizers: ahi tuna tar tar and scallops The tuna tar tar was a flashback to 1980s tuna towers. It really didn't have much flavor at all, but looked nice. Instead of the typical avocado , it was served with a pea puree underneath that turned an unappetizing color as it mixed with the tuna. I added some salt in hopes of it tasting like something .. but it didn't help it much The scallops were actually really nice. They didn't get much of a sear in the cook, but tasted great. I'd say they were the highlight of the dinner The wedge salad was next. The toppings were all top notch. The dressing, bacon, cheese , onions. All great. Sadly.. the lettuce seemed past its prime. It was chewy like cabbage .. my dining partner commented on this as well.. and was brown and bitter in the.middle. Still, there was enough dressing to mask it. Next we split the ny strip (regular menu) with a side of cauliflower au gratin (seasonal menu) I'm glad we decided to split a regular steak vs the larger ones. It was plenty for two. The steak was ordered medium rare, and arrived closer to medium. It was seasoned well and had some nice grill marks. By its texture, I am assuming it was initially cooked sous vide, and finished on the grill. I would rather just have it cooked on the grill as I feel the flavor and texture comes out better. The steak itself ate a bit tough, but not horribly so. The cauliflower I wouldn't recommend. It appeared to be parboiled in aromatics first and finished in the oven. There were still whole peppercorns and cloves on the cauliflower so be aware not to eat those. The dish ate very dry. I was expecting a cheesy creamy cauliflower.. instead got a dry whole roasted cauliflower with dry cheese and breadcrumbs on top. We only ate 1/4 of this and my partner took the rest home along with half of half of his steak to be polite On a side note. They don't take Apple Pay. So be aware of that. So it comes down.. would we return to The Ranch? Nope. Don't see it happening. For the price point, I think we should get better overall food. read more

My mom made arrangements to celebrate my step dad's 75th birthday there which was Saturday 5/23/26. Our party consisted of 9 people which required a contract. A $500 down payment was requested to make the reservation. And when present for dinner there was a $900 purchase of food and drinks that needed to be met. When we walked in we were promptly greeted by staff. And after a few minutes were guided to our table towards the back. The restaurant was pretty spacious and they did have patio seating in the back. Mason was our server and went over how the dinner will progress. He wished my step dad a happy birthday once he learned of our special occasion. He informed us of the conditions of our dinning contract and went over the menu with us. To make sure we met the conditions of the contract we pretty much ordered double of each of the appetizers. I ordered the Scallops, shrimp cocktail, lobster mac, and cream corn. My sister got the escargot, grill asparagus, and mushrooms. We also order a few caesar salads. My mom ordered a few mocktails. The appetizers were delicious I really enjoyed the lobster mac and scallops. And now onto to ordering the entrees. I ordered the 16oz Prime Rib medium rare and Scallops potatoes. My party ordered 3 of the 58oz Prime Angus Cowboy Ribeyes with Scallops potatoes. My mom and Step dad shared one order, My sister and her son shared the second order and my brother had the last order to himself. His fiance and her parents ordered Austrian Prime Black Angus Filet. Overall the food and service was excellent. When it came to dessert we ordered a couple of Milky Ways and Cheesecake for the birthday guy. Since my mom worked next door and showed her employee badge we received a 20 percent discount. We were also granted free admission to their Saloon next door. We split 2 steaks among the 4 of us and they nicely split them in the back so we each had our own plate and portion. Our server was very attentive and helped recommend dishes we may like. The biggest disappointment was the dessert. We ordered the apple pie thinking it would be a slice of pie, but it was a tiny circular ramekin, almost like a mini pie, and was very underwhelming. To keep it concise and honest, this place was a huge disappointment. My buddies and I traveled from NorCal, Texas, and everywhere in between to meet at this highly rated steakhouse to celebrate our buddy's big 5-0, only to be let down. We were constantly urged to pick items from the Chef's menu without any indications of prices listed for the items b"highly recommended" by the Waiter. Throughout multiple encounters, my Wife and I asked multiple times for prices of the recommended items, only to be met with ambiguity, as the Waiter demonstrated a master-class of evasion of all price-related questions altogether, stating, "it depends, I'll have to check market prices", and left the table seemingly to check prices. When he came back, the $200 bottle of wine we ordered, in lieu of the cocktails (which I will admit was the single good thing that actually tasted anywhere near worthy of the valued price), kicked in, he asked us again and we caved, not realizing, he pulled as fast one on us, and ordered the Chef's Special all around. When the hill finally came, we were charged $17-18 for a single scallop LOL. Hate to admit it but, we "got got!", absolutely hysterical. We didn't want to cause any drama, especially since we had immediate plans following dinner and again, we were celebrating the big 5-0, but in hindsight, this was highway robbery. The steak was tasteless, poorly seasoned, and nothing special. We joked around at the beginning of our dinner that we should've met at Outback's instead, as all of us could've cut our commutes at least 10 minutes short per way and avoided having to pay for valet (LOL), which by the way, is identical to the uncovered self-parking ~20 steps away, but in retrospect we were all in agreement that we should've met at Outbacks. Not only was this place expensive, but the service was lackluster at best. Complaints aside, I do commend the Waiters for having the menus well-memorized, but we all felt they were obviously pushing us to purchase items off of the Chef's menu without transparent prices, and we were simply disregarded after we paid the bill, with one special request, and arguably the most important request: I emphasized multiple times we were meeting up from different parts of the US to celebrate the big half century birthday, but I had to literally stand out of my seat and even gave it a bit of a hop in addition to a waive and shout at the guy (waiter) to get his attention to order a Birthday Dessert, after we spent $1200+ on a mediocre meal. To add insult to injury, the Waiter literally dropped off the dessert with a lit candle, without the slightest bit of finesse, and walked away swiftly without even bothering to sing happy birthday, as employees did for other guests. I guess it didn't matter anymore after we've already paid and tipped. Poor experience all around. Not recommended. read more

Located at the bottom of the main entrance of a business building, the location really threw me off. The main lot is valet and the rest is general public. Left side is the restaurant and the right is either a bar and or a dance floor - the girls were all dressed up - once inside we had reservations, were seated and quickly our server had a colorful speech about the food..natural... home grown... ect. What i found odd was the menu - super light..super non variety... just five appetizers- five salds - and five entrees... everything was ..high on the cost - steak 60$ fish 89$ salads were in the 25 to 50$ started were in the same price range... once the food arrived, I can say that it was exquisite, colorful, tasteful and well executed. Our server was a bit over friendly...or too talkative... but we do appreciate the cheesecake- super good. On this, the atmosphere was dull - too high class wood everything decor - stale. The food was the star of the show, but in all truth a bit pricy. The service, as well as he treated us, maybe he read the room wrong. My folks were only Spanish, and continued to speak about things that we didn't really care about. He could have shortened his word track - and probably should have noticed the concern quickly, but did not. So, if you are looking for fancy , Ritz Carlton feel and interaction and like woodsy ambiance and pricy food..maybe this is your place... But if you looking for a nice place, good ambiance, look for good food and prices and possibly a bit more de tuned service where a good food menu and a good variety exists... maybe keep looking. The Ranch is an excellent choice for a date night or celebrating a special occasion. The service is exceptional, featuring a team-based approach where multiple servers attend to your table. While the food and drinks were overall enjoyable, the cowboy ribeye unfortunately wasn't cooked to the requested temperature. Even so, it was a wonderful experience, and I'd gladly return. Be sure to book a reservation ahead of time for prompt seating. read more

We celebrated our anniversary at The Ranch and had a really nice night. The vibe is upscale but still cozy, perfect for a special occasion, and the servers were super friendly. We had scallops and the ceviche trilogy to start, and by then we were already pretty full. For the main, we shared the 58 oz Prime Angus Cowboy Ribeye; it was a lot of food, so we definitely took some home. We also had two glasses of sparkling rosé. Overall, great food, great service, and a perfect anniversary spot. read more

We came in for Thanksgiving, prepared perfectly along with the sides generously proportioned. Lots of leftovers. Bartender prepared delicious libations to accompany our meal. Came in and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The steak was cooked perfectly, exactly how I asked for it. I paired it with a beet salad, which was fresh and balanced, and finished the meal with a cheesecake that was the perfect sweet ending. Service was great throughout the night, attentive without being overbearing, and the ambience really fits the name: warm, inviting, and comfortable. Went here for my surprise birthday dinner before seeing a show at the Honda Center, because the bf knows I love me a good chunk of mammal. Obviously, I went with the prime rib. Reno was our server and let me just say when you get a charming, intuitive, funny, and knowledgeable person, it makes all the difference. Yes, Reno, I'm still talking about you lol. He really knows his stuff when it comes to their farm-to-table dishes and drinks. He suggested I try The ACE cocktail made with a smooth tequila (the name escapes me) and Grand Marnier, meant to pour over a dehydrated orange or sip separately. It was delish. The bf ordered some fruity cocktail I don't quite remember, but it cracked me up when Reno brought them out and almost handed that one to me. Nah man, I got The ACE. Lol I ordered the prime rib and asked if they could sub the scalloped potatoes for creamed corn, but they couldn't except with baked potato or some other variant of potato, so I left it as is. The bf got the lamb chops, which came with this rich, sweet, and seriously tasty pomegranate demi-glace. I'm usually a steak/prime rib kind of gal, but the thick cut of my prime rib left it a little drier than I'd like. I'd go with the lamb chops next time. We also ordered the lobster mac and cheese a la carte, which was very good. It was better than the potatoes that came with my prime rib so I am guilty of eating more of that during the meal. For dessert, we went with some kind of toffee-crunch cake paired with vanilla ice cream, but I didn't realize they'd also bring out another dessert for my birthday! Between that and the crème brûlée, we honestly couldn't decide which was better. Toward the end, the bf ordered another wine, and Reno mentioned it would be on the dry side. Knowing my bf liked sweeter drinks from his earlier cocktail, Reno suggested another wine instead. "Bring it out," bf said, "I trust you." That's the kind of server you want. Before I start this Review, you need to know that this has been my go to place for special occasions. I have been here many times in big groups with family, friends, and business, and it's been great. My most recent visit started off great. Arrived and was seated in 15 minutes without a reservation. I had a party of three. We placed our orders and the French Onion Soups arrived shortly and they were hot and tasty. After having soup and some rolls, we waited for our dinner to arrive. We waited and waited and waited. Our server came by and I asked where our food was and he lied and said, "you still don't have your meals". I'm thinking, How do you not know? A few minutes later, the table next to us received their food and they arrive 20 minutes after us. We are now approaching an hour wait for our food. My wife asked if they forgot us and is our food sitting getting cold. He assured us that wasn't the case and told us there is still one party ahead of us and we are next. Finally, our food arrived. Pork chop with potatoes, prime rib, twice baked potatoes, lobster Mac, and asparagus. Pork chop meal was warm, not hot, all three of the sides were cold, and the Prime Rib was has. The other items were sitting for a while. We are approaching 9pm and are out of options. Manager comes over and ask how our meal was. We told him and all he offered was to bring out new food. We said, it's 9pm and we're not waiting for new food. We asked if there was anything else he can do for our trouble and he said no, in a smart ass kind of way. Basically, he had no time for us. We finished our meal, declined dessert. They didn't even offer to comp dessert. On the way out, we were asked how dinner was, we told them and they were shocked. Basically paid $60 for cold sides, and $50 or more for a warm pork chop. A tot bill of $250! Useless manager came up and stood there with a smirk on his face. Never said sorry. Basically, a wasted night that started out as a celebration, and ended in disappointment. I read some recent reviews and there seems to be a common thread of this happening. The GM does not seem to care about these kinds of issues because he/she never responds to any negative reviews. Once a go to place for celebrations with co-workers, friends and family is now a place I will never return to, and will make sure to tell everyone about my experience. read more

We've been regulars here for years, which is why this experience stood out. I understand THE RANCH has a business casual dress code and policies around laptop use. That's not the issue. The issue is consistency. We came in after my child's ice skating session, dressed the same way we have many times before without any problem. This time, we were told we could not be seated in the main dining room and were moved to the bar area due to attire. Within minutes, a Caucasian couple walked in wearing shorts and flip flops and were seated in the main dining room without any issue. From the moment we walked in, one of the hosts was staring at my wife and 7 year old in a way that felt judgmental and uncomfortable. That kind of behavior should not be happening at the front of house. During the visit, it was also clear that the manager, Sercan, was closely watching our table. This is someone who has greeted us warmly in the past, which made the change in treatment noticeable. Later, when my wife briefly opened a laptop for work, we were told laptops were not allowed because it would "ruin the experience." At the same time, iPads were clearly being used. If these policies are truly enforced consistently, situations like this should not happen. We're not questioning the rules. We're questioning how they were applied in this instance. Management should focus on training front of house staff to treat guests respectfully and apply standards consistently. We've supported this place for years, which is why this was disappointing.
