We made a reservation at Twenty Eight for our son's graduation dinner. We absolutely love this amazing restaurant! The food is to amazing! Twenty Eight's decor is very elegant and classy but not stuffy. It is very welcoming and comfortable. We arrived early to enjoy a few cocktails before dinner. Our drinks included the Rebel, Do the Hokey Toki and Somm's Old Fashion. The cocktails were a perfect way to start our evening! We had a party of 9 and ordered a variety of appetizers, entrees and sides. My husband and oldest son ordered the Chateaubriand and thoroughly enjoyed it. My middle son and I ordered the salmon, which was perfect as always. Several of our guests ordered the capellini and prime New York strip. Our appetizers: French fries, truffle fries, salmon crudo, Spanish octopus, Black Tiger Shrimp, and of course the famous griddled scallion pao with sambal chili butter (amazing!). Our sides included: garlic fried rice, broccoli and greens, mac and cheese, Brussel sprouts and potato puree. For dessert we ordered the seasonal sorbets: passionfruit and mango - super refreshing! The restaurant surprised my son with a congratulatory dessert for his graduation - totally unexpected and greatly appreciated! He absolutely loved it and it added such a nice touch to our evening! All the cocktails, appetizers, entrees, sides and desserts are absolutely amazing - we loved everything. But, I will say the one thing that is always above and beyond any other restaurant that I visit is the service. I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate the wonderful and warm customer service! Our hostesses, bartenders, server and food runners truly give you the best experience possible. Kevin was one of the first to warmly greet us - and of course he made us feel like old friends visiting again. Came here for my birthday dinner and overall, it was not a bad experience, but not something I would recommend to others. All the food we got was good, but in comparison to visiting my local southeast Asian restaurants and accounting for the price, it was okay and not outstanding. The biggest Stand outs of this meal was the breads; they were incredibly fluffy and decadence and were a crowd favorite amongst my friends. Everything we got was something not worth getting, or something I've had better elsewhere. The service was good, but my main complaint was that because my party was a group of 6, we were given an awkwardly large table in a room that was empty except for out table and a few decor. As a result, our voices echoed and once again, the it was quite awkward for a high end restaurant. I was there for an event and never been here before. It is close to the Google building, where there is a parking lot full of space. The restaurant does validate parking. I didn't realize how big the back section was. The restaurant was smaller in the front section. It gave this homey feel in the front and more of an event venue in the back, which I totally understand. It seems like the menu we had was specifically for this event: I did eat the seasonal salad, angus filet mignon, potato puree, roasted vegetables, and berries and cream. I have to say that the best part of my meal was the seasonal salad, everything tasted so fresh and that champagne vinaigrette with sesame was everything. I could have just ate a huge bowl of that and been happy. The filet mignon was alright but the center was a bit too raw for me and I prefer medium rare or medium at steakhouses. Stellar. Underrated. Will be returning. This restaurant is by the Google building, walking past blkdot coffee and Equinox. They have valet parking and validated structure parking (if you park at Centerpointe). The whole experience screamed "How many Michelin stars do they have," from staff opening the door to the explanation of the dishes to changing of the plates and utensils to leaving our to-go bag at the front with the receptionist till we left. I did a corporate event here in one of their private rooms. We had 25 attendees and the room was so massive, it seemed a bit empty in my opinion. When I went in the room, I saw a dead bug on the windowsill. He had one server for the room, taking drink orders as people came in. This caused people to have to wait for their orders to be taken. Even having water just waiting there for people to serve themselves would have been better. Myself and a colleague of mine were sitting on the side. I hope that we were not charged for the full meal because we did not get the appetizer or bread. When I asked for bread, they gave us these sliced pieces that were different than what the other guest were served, which was fine, but it did not come with olive oil or butter, which I found a bit strange to serve sliced bread on a plate and nothing else. The steak was good. The vegetables were completely bland and the potatoes were average, I could make them at home. The chocolate mouse Dessert with some toppings was pretty good, not too rich. We were both surprised when our sever brought out the dessert because usually when we go out to eat our day is forgotten by other restaurants, but our sever made it so special. Bread and garlic butter, I did wish it had more garlic in it, but overall good bread. I loved the Caesar salad. It was the best salad I've ever had. The sauce was divine. 10/10! Steak 10/10 cooked to perfection Dry Noodle dish not my favorite, it was a bit too salty. But the presentation of it was a nice experience. This was the perfect spot to celebrate Valentine's Day. Our server was phenomenal, and let us know that this place has some Southeast Asian cuisine influences, which was right up our tastebud alleys. I started off my meal with a Mexican candy shot cocktail, and a glass of riesling for my meal. The drink was delicious, and I'm glad they were able to sub the whiskey for gin. The space itself was a mix of upscale/casual modern. They have an outdoor patio, and an indoor dining space that also feels like you're outdoor. For our meal, we got the scallop crudo, salmon crudo, ricotta and tomato, wagyu ribeye, mezze rigatoni, mixed mushrooms, country potato, potato puree, brown sugar rice cake, and black sesame bread pudding. Everything was very tasty, but my favorite had to be the ribeye, crudos, and the ricotta and tomato. Those three were the top best items we had that night. The desserts, sides, and pasta were good, but weren't standouts to us. We ended up having a lot of leftovers after finishing our apps, and loved that they bag everything up for you and give you a ticket to retrieve it from the host before leaving. This was my third visit, and it never disappoints! The first two times were dinner dates with my boyfriend, but this time I came with my girlfriend and we sat at their super cute bar. They have an impressive whiskey selection, and Leo, who's been our bartender for all three visits is absolutely fantastic! The cocktails here are next-level! I had a few of the "Do the Hokey Toki," which is now my go-to. Leo also crafted a pineapple based cocktail for my friend, but she ended up switching to mine because it was THAT good! We got so lost in conversation that we stayed until closing, and Leo was incredibly patient and never rushed us out. I just love the vibe here. This is a nice restaurant for special occasions. It's intimate and quiet with a romantic ambience. Service is frequent, someone is always checking to see if you need anything. Servers are also very knowledgeable about their menus and drinks if you have questions. We were really sad that the pork shoulder with the crispy fried bun is no longer a selection here, but we tried the pork chop that replaced it. I was pleasantly surprised. It was bursting with flavor and super juicy / cooked to perfection. We also ordered the NY steak and unfortunately were not so impressed with that one. The Spanish octopus appetizer and fried Brussels sprouts side dish were great additions to the meal, but not something I would specifically come back here for. I feel like Twenty Eight is so underrated. First of all, the staff were so helpful and friendly. I called ahead to have drinks ready and ensure I got to check, since dinner was my treat, and they were happy to help. The inside of the restaurant is small, but they have a big outdoor area, and when we went on a Monday night, it was fairly empty and cozy. Spanish Octopus: some of the most tender octopus I've had, and I was surprised by how much I loved the white hummus with vinegar. Broccoli & Greens: the lemon sesame dressing was so refreshing and complimented the mix of veggies well. Garlic Fried Rice: I think this is a must order, especially paired with any protein. The fried rice strikes a great balance between being garlicky, umami, salty, and a little bit of sweet. Definitely not your ordinary fried rice! Australian Wagyu Ribeye: like butter, but still meaty. Some of the best pieces of beef I've ever had and well worth the price. Mezze Rigatoni: it's been some time since we dined here, and I still think about this pasta at least weekly. The chili crunch is such a nice contrast to the silky sauce. The fennel sausage is unexpected but adds nice contrast to the creamy gochujang flavor. I was looking forward to this dish the most and it did not disappoint! We also ordered from their extensive wine menu, and they even surprised us with a birthday dessert! We were so full by the end of our meal and had leftovers, but there's nothing I would have taken out from our order. The service starting from the valet parking, the front desk, and our waiter were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and was honestly some of the best service and most attentive I've experienced in a while. I really liked the consistency of the dish and how soft and well cooked the mushrooms were. The flavor was great especially with the lemon. 3.5/5 Parpadelle... I liked this dish overall but I think it could have used more flavor. The chili adds a soft kick which helped the noodles but it felt like it was missing something. Overall I still enjoyed it but I don't think I'd get it again. In summary, I enjoyed twenty eight. I live in the IE and the GF lives in the OC and we've been exposing me to the amazing foods that the OC offers. Steak is one of my top foods and with that being said, there are very few steak places that I would go back to and this probably tied for first place. I found Twenty Eight on Tiktok, as I/we do for most of our food adventures. It had been months since we had quality, fine dining-like steak and I chose this place as a belated Christmas dinner. They open at 5pm, but I did reservations prior at 5:30. The restaurant did not start to get busy until just after we left right around 6:30. Reservations are always a must in my opinion, especially at any upscale restaurant. We were greeted upon entering, promptly seated, and greeted by our server. For appetizers, we ordered the Brussel sprouts and the salmon crudo. The Brussel sprouts were a bit more on the sweeter end, but still tasty none the less. If I had to be picky, I would prefer roasted over regular, but I would definitely order this again. The salmon crudo was delicious. There were a mixture of flavors, but it was a perfect blend, but not being all too powerful with a nice kick to it afterwards. For the main entrees, we got the the wagyu hanger and the New York trip, both medium rare. Oh my greatness, these were cooked and served to perfection. Both were super tender. The wagyu you could taste, feel, and see the marbling. The seasoning for both were near perfect, with additional sauce within the plates itself. We also go the potato puree and the garlic butter and dear lord, that was the perfect combo to couple with a bite of each steak piece. Easily 5/5 stars and would re-order over and over. They are known for their whiskeys, but I am not a drinker so I opted for a coke while my GF go their Hokey Poki (and at the recommendation of our server) in which she said it was delicious. We skipped out dessert as we had outside plans for that. The ambience was great, it was quite, dark, chill-like vibes, but quaint, and definitely gives you the upper class environment. It is a fantastic place to take a significant other on a date or to treat someone to a nice dinner. The location is in a good spot as it is the only restaurant in the complex surrounded by Equinox gym, a few other buildings, and the Google building. This area gives off "silicon valley" visuals, very clean, and very quiet. The parking is part of the parking garage, but you do not have to pay as long as you get your ticket cleared through your server. There is also valet, but it honestly was a nice walk from the parking lot to the restaurant and back. Service was great, as it should for any restaurant. No need to go into details for pricing as the prices are listed on the menu on their website. With that being said, the quality definitely shows. 100% recommended if you are a steak connoisseur! Twenty Eight Restaurant & Bar continues to amaze us with its innovative and evolving menu. Each visit we are consistently delighted by the creativity and quality of the dishes, it is truly a culinary adventure. The PEI Mussels Escabeche is a standout, offering a perfect balance of flavors and texture. Love that the mussels were already taken out of the shell. Perfect to order with their Sea Salt Bread to sop up the sauce. The grilled Jidori Chicken (a new favorite) is so innovative and IMO a masterpiece, combining bold and aromatic ingredients. This reminds me of the Chicken Inasal but super elevated with the flavor infusion that we've come to love and expect from Chef Jay. My husband and I could not stop raving about this dish. The skin was grilled to perfection and so flavorful. It was the moistest and juiciest chicken dish that we've had to date. That smoked oil with tamarind lemongrass was so delish and craveable. Tip: finish this plate first as the chicken is better eaten while warm. And the new pasta item: I think it's called Mezze Rigatoni with gochujang is a revelation and a flavor explosion--an inspired fusion that showcases Chef Jay's ability to surprise and delight one's palate. What makes the experience here even more special is the exceptional service provided by the staff each and every time. Celebrated my wife's birthday here the other night. It's a good spot and interesting and tasty food. The lady at the door that opened the door for us is nice but a little awkward haha seriously not being mean just honest. The place looked cozy and clean. It took a long time until we got a server so we had to call one to our table to start. The server was very helpful and nice. We started off with a Caesar salad, and bone marrow and steak wattons. The bone marrow was delicious and surprisingly was laying on a custom fit bedding made from smashed grilled potato's. Genius. The salad had a lot of what it seems very thinly shredded Parmesan cheese and the lettuce was purple and green. It looks fantastic. Tasted pretty good too. My wife ordered a pasta that was delicious. I highly recommend. Now here's where the mess up happened. I ordered the New York strip-MEDIUM. I got it pretty much well-done on the sides and directly center of the steak had a 2 slices of medium. Not my cup of tea. Generally not so picky with food. But with my steaks, I am. I get that when sliced and brought out to the table it overcooked, that should not happened. It was sliced when it was still pretty hot which allowed the steam from the inside cook the nearby slices. It should have rested for longer before it was sliced to prevent that from happening. I told the server he took it back and assured he'll provide me a new one. I honestly didn't want to wait and i wasn't a fan of the idea of having steak thrown away because of this so I asked for it back and we still ate it. Also, when a steak that hasn't rested enough gets sliced all the juices are released onto the plate. My plate was like a soup of steak juices. I mean it literally was A LOT of steak juice. Again, the steak needs to rest before it's sliced so it won't overcook the nearby slices and doesn't release a sea of juices onto the plate. I think somebody in the kitchen just messed up and sliced it WAY too early. It had a good well balanced sear. Just sliced WAY too early. They brought out a complimentary cake with a candle, thank you. And without asking them they removed the steak from the bill and a drink as well very nice of them. The steak incident was a rookie mistake not sure how that happened at a steak house restaurant but how they handled the issue it was respectable. Honest review. read more

This was a surprise for me - I had never heard of this restaurant. Upon arrival the seating seemed a bit too open for my taste but I adjusted and it was fine . They have a great whisky list and the wine list is pretty good as well. I do need to take a moment to silence for the Wagyu steak. It was so good! They give you a soy egg sauce for dipping if you'd like and it's pretty tasty. Staff was very informative and attentive throughout the meal. I can't wait to go back. read more

We wanted a great steak experience for my son's birthday and we chose Twenty Eight for it's sophisticated vibe and creative menu. The ambiance was dark, sleek and modern. The service was ultra cool and demure, very professional overall. The steaks were out of this world, the flavors were bold and unique. The meat was absolutely cooked to perfection and just divine. The pasta and vegetables were flavorful but so surprising, overwhelmingly salty.
