The low rating is due to the taste of food NOT the service. Our waiter was wonderful and the hostess greeted as enthusiastically. I set reservations to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriends and we were able to sit outside by the fire pit. It was pretty empty when we came and the location is a bit odd as it's between business complexes. You'll have to park in the structure but the restaurant will validate your ticket! The dishes we got were mostly misses which is quite unfortunate. It went kinda downhill after the appetizers. Appetizers were pretty solid but we were not fans of the entrees we ordered. Scallop crudo (4/5): personally my favorite of the night as it was citrusy and refreshing. One of my friends did not enjoy it as much as I did bc it was too citrusy for her. Salmon crudo (3/5): salmon was fresh and tastes like salmon poke but I didn't think it paired well with the sweet potato chips bc the chips weren't crispy enough. Crab and shrimp linguine (4/5): standard linguine pasta, thought it was good but nothing mind blowing. We made reservations online and had to put in a deposit that was reduced from the final bill. BRUSSELS SPROUTS ($14) - the brussels sprouts were very well charred which added to its flavor. They were slightly sweet and salty from the salame. It's a good dish if you need some veggies. 4/5 MACARONI & CHEESE ($12) - they used gemelli for their pasta shape and I wasn't the biggest fan of it but the dish was still good and cheesy. I really liked the melted cheese on top and I especially liked the crab meat add-on! 4.5/5 PAPPARDELLE ($28) - the pasta was fresh and I liked the meat in it. There wasn't a lot of sauce and I would've liked more but it was still a flavorful dish. 4.5/5 ANGUS FILET MIGNON ($92) - they had two size options: 8oz for $52 and 16oz for $92. The meat was nicely charred on the outside and so tender on the inside. On its own it could've used more salt or other seasoning but I liked dipping it into its own juices on the plate. This was my favorite dish! 5/5 CENTRAL PARK ($24) - this was a smoked drink but the rosemary smelled and tasted a little too burnt. It was a stiff drink and I liked it but the rosemary was a little off-putting. 3/5 THE REBEL ($18) - this drink was very light and easy to drink. The sugar rim made it sweeter and on top of that the drink had a good presentation. 4.5/5 AN EARLY FLIGHT ($17) - they didn't have the earl grey-infused cognac so I just opted for normal cognac. I don't know how big of an effect that had on the balance of the drink but it was too floral-y from the creme de violette. I can't imagine it would change it that much or else they wouldn't offer it but it just wasn't pleasant to drink. 2/5 I wasn't a fan of the cocktails but the food was delicious! Located in the same plaza as the Google building, it can be somewhat a challenge to find the first time. How was the food? - American Wagyu Hanger: This was my steak order, I got it medium rare. The meat was tender, juicy, and tasty. A darn good cut of meat. I had gotten it with garlic butter, which was very subtle. - Angus Filet Mignon: This was my girlfriend's steak. She got it medium rare as well. It was also juicy and tasted good. (not pictured) - Caesar Salad: Delicious. A pile of crunchy lettuce and some anchovies covered in cheese. The dressing hits the spot. - Central Park: I love whisky and this cocktail was smooth, despite it being smoked. It wasn't overwhelming. - Truffled Parmesan Fries: These were heaven sent. We ordered a Mac and cheese and it had this weird topping ontop and it wasn't bread crumbs. Fries were pretty heavy on the salt and soggy and the ceaser salad had too much anchovies.Also our pasta had it and it just killed the taste of it. The only thing I enjoyed was our steak. A hidden gem for sure! My boyfriend surprised me with a visit to this place on our anniversary and I was impressed with how lovely it was! It's around some office buildings and parking was confusing at first, but thankfully when we called to let them know we'd be a few minutes late, we were told they had valet that night. My family and I came here to celebrate our daughters college graduation. We are big steak people and we were excited to come to an Asian fusion steak restaurant. We ordered the Spring Onion Pao which was delicious, and an assortment of cocktails which were beautiful and tasteful. Our server was very kind, funny and attentive. Things went wrong when our 48oz Tomahawk Ribeye Steak came out ($175 btw). We had conversed with our amazing waitress, and debated between ordering rare or medium rare. When we came to our consensus we had decided to do a medium rare, on the more rare side if possible. We were incredibly disappointed to see that after 45 minutes of waiting for our steak, it had come out very medium. There was little to no pink throughout the center and certain pieces were cooked fully through. Although this is something little that we would not typically complain about, it's so unfortunate that a nice steakhouse is unable to execute a dish that they are so known for. Especially for the premium price and cut we had ordered, we were super disappointed. The manager & waitress were incredibly kind and understanding and were able to make accommodations for us, but still not really what we had hoped for to celebrate such a special occasion. On the bright side, the Brussels sprouts & mac and cheese were delicious. Although the sides were good, they really missed on the centerpiece of the meal, the steak. Considering the price point & wait time, as well as the lack of execution with the steak, I probably wouldn't recommend to others to visit. I realized that I hadn't eaten at this place since it was called Chimera (or something like that) more than a decade ago. I was very happy with the atmosphere and volume level of the music + ambient noise. The food was excellent, if predictably expensive. The only slight disappointment was the bourbon cocktail I ordered which was just "OK", despite the fact that they call themselves a "whiskey bar". Just having expensive bottles of whiskey available is not the same as being a "whiskey bar" that tries to do something interesting with it. The last time I came to try this place spontaneously, they had the place closed off for a private event. So this time, I came with reservations for a Saturday night. We were seated right on time and it didn't take us long to order because the menu is short and simple. Which is perfect. The salad we ordered was nice and crunchy. The dressing was a bit too light for me in flavor. Despite the salad being dressed more than I prefer, the salad dressing didn't bring too much to the table. But I still enjoyed it overall for how fresh it was. The filet steak I got was perfectly cooked and tasted to its core like meat. In other words it had a very meaty and smoky flavor. Hard to explain but the beauty of it was its simplicity-- it wasn't particularly flavored as a Mastros steak might be, but it was unique and good. The truffle parm fries were my favorite part. Shoestring fries with plenty of truffle salt in every bite. Loved it. The drinks were also fantastic. I stuck to the around the world cocktail (which is a version of a negroni) and enjoyed it a lot. The one caveat is they are a bit stingy with the pour, especially because the ice cube takes up most of the drink. For that price, I prefer the cocktails at porch and swing. read more
