We had a noon reservation for a large team lunch (party of 14). Upon arrival, the main indoor dining area was relatively empty, though the patio was completely packed--clearly, it's the popular spot. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and I can easily see it being a great date spot in the evening. Because our group was so large, I couldn't sample or photograph every dish, but here is my breakdown of the items ordered near my end of the table: 01. Arugula Salad (half) $8.00 - 3 Stars - Light and exceptionally simple, topped with red onions and parmesan cheese. Frankly, it was a bit too simple, the dressing was entirely unmemorable. 02. Prime Rib Dip $25.50 - 3 Stars - This arrived looking very promising. The fries were perfectly crisp, and the creamy horseradish packed a powerful punch (it will definitely clear out your sinuses). Unfortunately, the thinly sliced meat was slightly overcooked, dry, and a bit chewy. While the au jus was flavorful, I've definitely had better prime rib dips elsewhere. 03. Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich $20.50 - 2 Stars - This was the biggest disappointment of the lunch. It looked great initially, but hiding a layer of mashed potatoes underneath the chicken was a strange choice that made the bottom bun instantly soggy. The chicken itself lacked crunch, likely because it was completely doused in what tasted like standard Frank's RedHot sauce (tangy and vinegar-forward, but not actually spicy). No wonder there are barely any photos of this online; I wouldn't order it again. 04. Lobster Roll $32.00 - 3 Stars - Beautifully presented with large chunks of lobster and a side of sweet potato fries. However, at this price point, it felt overpriced for the portion size. The flavor was a bit bland and lacked a "wow" factor. While I appreciated the use of butter lettuce to keep the roll from getting soggy, the lobster meat didn't actually fill out the bread end-to-end. On the bright side, the butter sauce was quite good. 05. Creme Brulee $12 - 3 Stars - A very standard crème brûlée with a decent portion size. It was served completely chilled, which threw off a few of my colleagues. While it's traditionally served chilled, some places serve it closer to room temperature, so this really just comes down to personal preference. 06. Fresh Seasonal Cobbler $12.00 - 3 Stars - As a massive fan of cobblers, I was underwhelmed. The berries were cooked down so much that they lost their form entirely, taking on a jam-like consistency. The crust layer was incredibly thin and soggy, making the whole dessert feel mushy. Luckily, the vanilla ice cream helped cut through the intense sweetness, but overall it was just okay. LOCATION/PARKING - The restaurant sits right on the corner and shares a parking structure with Monaco, The Trough, and Izakaya Osen. Valet parking is available, and the restaurant validates for 90 minutes. CUSTOMER SERVICE - The service seems to depend heavily on who you get. While the staff was generally friendly, they weren't particularly attentive, and we constantly had to ask for refills. To be fair, assigning just one server to a party of 14 is a tough ask, this venue is likely better suited for smaller groups. He was very funny and gave us excellent recommendations. We tried the brussels and the artichoke florets for appetizers and they were delicious, great way to start the meal. He highly recommended the sea bass in curry and I was blown away by it. So flavorful and perfectly cooked fish. The only down side was the rice, they were a few hard lumps that were uneatable. Everyone else enjoyed their meal except for the kids. They didn't like the taste of the burgers. My husband and I like to bring business clients here when we attend T.H.E. Show at the Hilton. This is our second year doing so. We found the restaurant through a search for dog friendly patios. Our dog is only 10 pounds and stays in a bag the entire time, but it's really nice to be able to have a steak and not have at a fast food restaurant. This time around three of us ordered the short ribs, and people had steaks, and another had the panko crusted halibut. We went for Mother's Day and it was delicious. We ordered French onion soup, Ceasar Salad, Beef Wellington, Filet Mignon, Pichana and for dessert Ube Basque cheesecake. Salad was good, nothing extraordinary but good, soup was warm, not hot, so I won't order soup again, steaks were all good but we ordered the picahna medium rare and it came medium well. Wellington and Mignon melted in your mouth. So good! Our waitress was very attentive and efficient. Overall, Goldfinch was good, but unfortunately a few misses kept it firmly at three stars for us. I'd been looking forward to coming here for quite a while, and we finally made it down for a date night. We started with two cocktails. One was great, while the other was incredibly sour and really needed some simple syrup added just to balance it out and make it enjoyable. Not a huge deal, but definitely noticeable. The biggest disappointment was the black mussels. They were honestly some of the worst mussels I've had. They tasted borderline fishy, didn't seem particularly fresh, and the texture was way off. They also appeared to be overcooked. At this price point and for a restaurant of this caliber, serving mussels in that condition just isn't acceptable. Thankfully, the rest of the food was much better. The ahi tuna lettuce wraps were excellent--great composition, great sauce, and everything worked really well together. The artichoke and goat cheese rolls were also fantastic and another highlight of the meal. Overall, I think Goldfinch is a solid place and there were definitely dishes we really enjoyed. But when you're charging at this level, consistency matters, especially with seafood. Service was pretty solid by Javier (4.5 stars), we did have to ask for more drink refills here and there as the restuarant got more filled and busier. Most of the dishes pictured were pretty great. I had the picanha - perfectly cooked to medium well (light soft pink color), it came with a wonderful arugual/watercress/tomato/parm salad and frites. - Asked for their ketchup and hotsauce I also got their mussels w 2 pcs of sourdough toast. - Mussels were on the small size (like the size of an almond candy?) - The wine sauce w shallots was amazing to dip your bread - A bit salty though towards the end - Sourdough was really great quality - Although I wished the sourdough was more toasted AND hot The one SERIOUSLY meh dish was their beet salad. Nobody else touched it. Big wedges of beets (2 kinds) seemed like out of a can or something (premade), arugula in the center and hardly any dressing. There was a small smattering of goat cheese pcs that served more like a garnish. - Portion was pretty big and could be satisfying - But it just fell short, didn't taste good - I forced myself to just eat the beets with my steak - I asked them to TAKE IT AWAY!!!! Tire of looking at it...untouched by others. Their coffee and tea service was great! Pour your own refills. I got their tropical tea and it was good. Parking validation is only for 90 mins, we were there 2 hrs. I would go back for the picanha, the mussels and the sourdough bread!!! Mmm mmm good. I was part of a group of 6 that went to dinner for the first time here. The ambiance was nice, upscale and they had bar, indoor and outdoor seating areas. The server was extremely attentive and helpful in questions we had about the menu but also with figuring out alternatives for dietary restrictions. My favorite item had to be the Brussels- the flavor on those things were so good I opted for a meal that also included them with it so I could get more! Apparently I didn't get enough with having to share the appetizer. I was however disappointed with how the Maple Glazed Double Pork Chop was cooked. Yes, it's a thick pork chop, but it was on their menu and they asked how I wanted it cooked and I said well done but unfortunately that's not what was brought to the table... twice. The server did check on our table after we got our food at which point I spoke up about it the first time because the inside was so raw, everyone at the table agreed. It was redelivered to the table and when I sliced into it again (same piece) it was still not throughly cooked. The manager checked on me and showed it to him and at that point didn't want to deal with giving it back again to be cooked again (I'd given up!) - he was very apologetic, they even ended up comping the pork chop, which was nice. The flavors of the pork chop glaze was good, it's just a shake I couldn't enjoy it because the meat wasn't cooked. We tried the lobster enchiladas, the sea bass with red curry, and the mimosa flight. The mimosa flight was actually the best thing we had--fun, well-balanced, and a great way to start brunch. The food, unfortunately, felt a bit like an afterthought. The sea bass itself was good, but the rice underneath had some clumps and there was barely any curry sauce, which made the dish feel a little incomplete. I didn't try it but he seemed happy with it, so take that for what it's worth. Drinks were solid, cocktails and wine did the job. Service was okay, nothing memorable either way. A place I will always recommend--even though I've only been here once, that's how good it was. This is the spot to come for brunch or dinner. They offer bottomless mimosas, and hands down some of the best champagne I've had. Ryan was absolutely amazing and made us feel extremely welcomed from the moment we sat down. He answered all of our questions and gave the best recommendations--from the food all the way to dessert. We ordered so much food and left nothing behind because everything was seriously finger-licking good. Superb food and even better service, if that's possible. On a Tuesday night it was about half full. We were seated immediately. The staff was very accommodating and attentive, let alone funny. I had the blackberry margarita and it was exceptional. Most of our drinks/cocktails were good, but You're My Boy Blue didn't taste like how it was described. That may just be because I'm not familiar with mezcal and its smoky flavor profile. The food was also on another level. I tried bone marrow and spicy tuna for the first time, and although I didn't like the texture of these new foods, the flavors were very good. I ordered the filet mignon for my entree and the steak was perfectly to medium. The steak fries were well seasoned, and the broccolini was close to the best I'd ever had. The crème brûlée for dessert was good as well, though I don't think I've ever had a crème brûlée and it's typically a safe choice. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful; very open and bright. It was a decent place to have happy hour with my colleagues since most places run happy hour until only 5pm. Happy hour here runs until 6pm. Parking is in the adjacent structure which can be validated with the hostess. It is located in the middle of alot of business offices so you will be alot of working professionals dining here. We got multiple appetizers to share and it was quite good for the discounted price. I wouldn't pay full price for any of the appetizers. The poke wraps had large fresh chunks of tuna and a spicy creamy wasabi sauce that paired well with the soy glaze on the tuna. The brussel sprouts were tender and was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. The calamari was a little on the dry side almost as if it was freezer burnt but the batter was seasoned well. I had been to Golfinch once before and recall it being very lively and busy but it was absolutely dead on a Friday evening for happy hour which runs until 6pm. I was one of the only people at the bar and even the restaurant was so slow. The signature cocktails are $4 off and there's a couple cocktails that run for $10 a piece during happy hour. I got the Raised by Wolves and Old Fashioned which were both tasty. I found the Old Fashioned to be a bit too sweet and would have preferred less simple syrup but that's more of a personal preference. The Raised by Wolves was refreshing, smoky and delicious. All in all cocktails were great! What I wasn't so sure about was the food quality. Started with the Poke Wraps which were good quality tuna that tasted fresh and didn't smell, but the flavors were lacking. On the contrary, the honey wasabi soy sauce was way too wasabi forward and overpowering. I'm a big fan of Bear Flag poke so in comparison this was a huge letdown of flavors. I'm so glad they put the sauce on the side so I could lightly dip my poke in it without the wasabi flavor dominating. I also got the Goldfinch Burger protein style as my entree, and I'll be honest, an In-n-Out burger for a fraction of the cost would have been better. The meat was pretty flavorless, quality of meat wasn't great and so dry that it was crumbling apart as I was trying to eat it with a knife and fork, and that was at Medium temp. The fries however were crispy, hot and delicious. The restaurant bar has TVs to watch if you're looking to watch sports on TV. The restaurant has indoor bar seating, patio seating and indoor seating. As someone who is highly allergic to alcohol (full body asian glow), I rarely drink and am very particular about what I indulge in. This cocktail had no strong alcohol flavor but was still strong enough to make me feel it, which is a very difficult task to achieve. It had an ube taste but other fruity flavors included to balance out the earthy flavor and sweeten it. I ordered the chicken pot pie, which I also very much enjoyed. Dining tip: The number of portions they prepare each night is limited. Call ahead to be sure they still have some. And it's "seasonal" so it could go away at any time. Also, order when you are first greeted by your server as it takes about 30 minutes from kitchen to your table. Stopped by this morning to The Goldfinch and was looking at the restaurant from outside the doors. A young waitress saw us looking inside and decided to come out and asked us if we needed help and invited us in. We explained to her we were looking for a place to host a dinner birthday party for 13 and she introduced us to the manager Brandon. What an exemplary employee to go the extra mile to get us help! We spoke with Brandon and he was very nice and helpful showing us the layout of the restaurant. The Goldfinch and the 908 in LGB are sister companies and are very similar in design and menus. Came here for brunch on Father's Day so reservations were definitely needed. The place has an upscale vibe and the staff is friendly and efficient. We ordered mimosas to drink, calamari to start, then picked shrimp and grits and hot honey chicken and pancakes for our entrees. Mimosas- They had a variety of juices for mixers which I appreciated. The juices and champagne are served separately so you can control the ratio. Calamari- Nice crispy and savory breading and a chewy interior. Served with two different sauces. Shrimp and Grits- Creamy grits served with a savory sauce that has a kick in the end. The shrimp is fresh and juicy. Nice and comforting. Hot Honey Chicken and Pancakes- Chicken is served hot and crispy with a flavorful coating. The interior is tender. Pancakes are fluffy and the hot honey ties the whole dish together. Came here for lunch on a weekday and had a great experience! Although there was plenty of room inside, I decided to sit outside on the patio to enjoy the nice weather. The restaurant wasn't too busy and had a nice calm ambiance, as well as an open layout that connects the indoor dining to the patio easily and provides lots of natural sunlight if you sit inside. Now onto the food: I stuck with a variety of appetizers and ordered the pork & beef meatballs, spicy tuna crispy rice stack, and a small side Caesar salad. The meatballs had good flavor, but the sauce was quite watery and wasn't the thick marina I was expecting, but my waiter Javier was great and took care of that for me. The spicy tuna crispy rice stack was bigger than I expected and was so good! The fish was fresh, rice was crispy and not soggy, and there was a nice combination of avocado and sauce to balance it out. One thing I did notice was that the actual tuna itself was not spicy, but instead they garnished it with diced jalapeño peppers to give it that kick. I actually liked this method because it allowed me to control my own spice level. Service was fast and prompt, the ambiance was inviting, and my food was great. I was in and out in about 35 minutes. I definitely would like to come back again for dinner service to explore more of the menu! read more

Definitely a go-to spot for a girls night out. I went here with four other girls and we had such a good time. The cocktails and food were delicious. We were seated right away and the hostess/waitress was nice. Loved the decor. Totally my vibe. We parked in the structure, but didn't have to pay anything because the restaurant validated it. read more

This place gets pretty crowded for happy hour. I do like the open design, a lot of natural light at 6pm, much better than some other happy hour places where it's all dark and make you want to ktfo. The food! The Brussel sprouts were delicious, so were the sweet potato fries. We also ordered the lobster & shrimp pasta... it was creamier than I'd prefer but still really good. The drinks. I liked the old fashioned, wasn't too sweet for me, and just the right bitterness level. Price is on the higher end, but they do validate... just not entirely lol. read more
