Yellowfin Tuna Poke, Chilean Sea Bass, Ribeye

Came to Benny and Mary's for a birthday dinner and had an enjoyable meal. Our waiter was super attentive and genuinely entertaining -- even offered to sing happy birthday solo, which was such a fun and memorable. The ambiance is a bit quirky and moody, great setting for a special occasion. Interesting menu with lots of variety. We ordered the grilled cheese dumplings, yellowfin tuna poke, parmesan garlic fries, ribeye, and chilean sea bass. Two clear favorites: the grilled cheese dumplings are such a creative concept -- if you love tomato soup and grilled cheese, it's basically the perfect bite in dumpling form. And the chilean sea bass was really the star of the night -- beautifully seared so it's crispy on the outside but soft, juicy, and tender inside, and the couscous paired with it really well. The one thing I'd skip is the ribeye -- the texture and flavor just didn't deliver the way the other dishes did, especially at that price point.

Came for a friend's bday dinner and what a great place! I love the richness of the velvet decor with the dark drapes - so elegant! I had a Mediterranean salad bowl which was delicious and quite filling. The Aperol spritz said summer is here and looked beautiful in the light streaming through the windows. Finished with a shared brownie and ice cream - yum!! Our server was very considerate and made sure all of our needs were cared for. Would make a fabulous venue for a small wedding reception or bday bash. Validated parking too so that's a win!!

1st time we came it was amazing we wanted to come back... and now we wish we didn't. We had a great start of the night there was 4 of us and we were celebrating my engagement and a promotion. So our friend ordered a speciality drink "me so corny" and after we (the 3 of us got our drinks) got ours the server finally came to tell him they didn't have the ingredients so he would have to pick another drink which we understand it happens but we had to wait another 5 to 7 minutes so we could all cheers at the same time since we were there to celebrate things. Then something else happened to him to the server was repeating back his food and he ordered the salmon and the server replied steak and our friends said no the salmon like literally repeated it twice... So of course, about 30 minutes later we all get our entrées and he gets a steak put in front of him so mistakes happen and we totally understand that. The server put steak into the computer instead of the salmon but the problem is he finally got the salmon (after waiting about 10 mins after we had all gotten our entrees) was eating it halfway through and we realized that the kitchen just was trying to get the food out so we could all eat together It was 100% raw in the middle ... he was eating on the sides of it, and didn't realize about halfway through that, The salmon was completely not cooked. I understand that you're trying to get food put out so quickly because the server made a mistake, but the fact that the kitchen staff would just put something out there that was so bad and not cooked and can make you ridiculously sick with salmonella poisoning just blows my mind, especially when the dishes are $30-$65 a dish. The server kept apologizing which we appreciated, but it was just the principal that even though the dish is late, the kitchen should not be putting out food that is just not prepared or cooked and rushed and That will make someone sick. Server took the dish off and gave us a free dessert and then the dessert we ordered. They didn't even have it... So it's just obviously was not our night but the principal is I get and understand that accidents happen and mistakes are made but you should have your food thoroughly cooked through and not just rush something out there to get the plate out there, especially when you're paying this much money for food and dinner and a night out. I really loved this place but it was just such a bad experience and things just kept happening over and over and I felt bad for my friend bc I held Bennys and Mary's to such a high standard and it was just a horrible experience

    Happy Hour food

The restaurant is beautiful, our server was great, and the happy hour wines and food we ordered good. We sat on the outside patio, thinking we were coming in for happy hour food, yet we ordered off their regular menu instead, and I wish we sat inside. I had the Chicken Piccata off the dinner menu, it was just a little more then the HH items and very good. I called after our visit to arrange a BD party there for 4 of us who have birtdays within 2 days and we'd have about 20-22 people. The woman I spoke to had told me the minimum charge for their private room, and the biggest size group the restaurant could accommodate. But then the charge of $100 goes to her for making all the arrangements. That was end of that conversaton, I was in shock, it sounded like blackmail to me, and I lost my taste for returning there.

Such a fun restaurant! Beautifully decorated, elegant, and upscale with an elevated yet casual menu - Benny & Mary's is for everyone! We enjoyed a "girls dinner," here on a weeknight, it wasn't too crowded but I made a reservation on Open Table to be safe. They have a large dining room, bar seating, and a patio as well. Their menu was on the smaller side but offered plenty of options for all. We loved our short rib fries, burgers, and the mediterranean salad. Fresh ingredients, friendly service, elegant ambiance. This is a great stool for a lunch, dinner, date night, girls night, or celebration. Highly recommend checking it out for yourself! *Super easy and accessible parking in a lot near the restaurant, take your parking ticket with you for complimentary validation.

The atmosphere is wonderful and the food was very good. It was a very positive experience, so we plan to return in the near future with friends. I had been stalking Yelp for a while, but, unfortunately, a couple of the cocktails that I was interested in (Cucumber Ginlet and Peartini) are not currently available. Drinks - Espresso Martini 4.5/5: Very well balanced, not bitter but also not overly creamy or sweet, just how I prefer it. - Cadillac Margarita, Mezcal 4/5: A great smokey flavor with a citrus finish. It paired really well with the Diablo Burger. Food - Cheese Dumplings 4.5/5: The tomato bisque was well seasoned and rich. The wonton had a nice crunch and a great cheesey flavor that elevated the dish. - Tomato Bisque, Cheese Toast: 3.5/5: The tomato bisque was still great, but the toast did not really have any cheese or added flavor. It did add good texture, and it likely would have been a higher rating if we dud not just have the Cheese Dumplings. - Short Rib Tacos 4.5/5: There was a generous amount of short rib and it were very flavorful, with the pickled vegetables and complimentary sauces - Diablo Smash Burger, Fries 4/5: As a smash burger, I wish that it would have had some carmelization or lace, but it might have been leaner patties. The peppers really made the burger and added a little kick. The fries were savory and had a crunchy exterior with a soft center. Dessert - Berry Cheesecake 5/5: I am usually not a cheesecake fan, but this was amazing. The berry swirl brought out the cirtus, cutting the tang. The blackberries and strawberry were so fresh and sweet. We had a late morning reservation for brunch on Saturday, and were surpsied that it was not very full. The restaurant was very clean and well maintained. It has an informal elegance and is very welcoming and comfortable. We were seated upon arrival and our waitress quickly took our drink order and made appetizer suggestions, including the Cheese Dumplungs, which were fantastic. The staff was attentive, without hovering or interrupting.

I love this place so I was excited to come during restaurant week. We did the early bird dining, lol. I got the Caesar salad, Salmon - Almond crusted 8oz salmon filet, served on a bed of rice,a sherry gastrique roasted vegetables, finished with a creamy dijon mustard sauce, and Cherry Ricotta Cheesecake. I liked the lemon dressing on the salad, light. My salmon was a bit overcooked so dry. I liked my salmon last time better. I also wasn't a fan of the Dijon mustard sauce. Way too mustardy for me. The roasted veggies were good but it was carrots, a little cauliflower & onions. Not the usual veggies but at least they tasted good. The cheesecake was yummy and not overly sweet. Nephew wanted the garlic Parmesan fries which I asked for no parsley or whatever green stuff but it came with it. Oh well. Friend loved the garlic. Nephew thought the fries were ok. Friend enjoyed her salad and Short Rib Stroganoff. I tried it but it was the same mustardy sauce which I wasn't a fan of. Lots of short ribs though. She loved it.

3.5- food was decent but service was only ok. The server wasn't very attentive- we had to ask multiple times for water refills... we were there for my friend's birthday, there's 5 of us and the service brought out a brownie dessert to celebrate but he ended up charging me $12 for it. Also he added me 21% of automatic gratuity when the receipt clearly states that will add for 6 or more in the party! I had to tell him to update my bill.... Also their drinks are very weak...

Great happy hour menu. Validated parking. Got there early so it wasn't too busy in the bar/patio area. The tuna poke was an interesting presentation. The Parmesan fries were quite stale and not very good even though the bowl of fries looked good in photos. Told my busser and the server but nothing was done about it which is fine, but hopefully they get rid of their stale fries. Inside of the restaurant is heavy on the jewel tones. I liked being near the windows in the bar area for a brighter experience as I don't love extremely dark restaurants where I can't see my food.

We've been eyeing this place for some time and our expectations were not just met -- it was way surpassed. The restaurant is quite eye catching with its pretty facade in the midst of towering buildings...and then you go inside and you'll be as pleased - soft and warm lighting, sophisticated interiors with so much character and style. The food was awesome. We started with Cheese Dumplings and Braised Rib Tacos which were delightful, and I had a ribeye as entree -- Juicy and tender, each bite moist and succulent and flavorful, especially that it's served on a bed of some puree that I cannot remember. My husband had a Chilean Sea Bass and enjoyed it so much too. And the Banana Cookie Butter Pie is so seriously good, one of these days I may just go to the restaurant by myself and order this to-go. Isabel was the best. We had our own charming attendant but she got a bit busy towards the end of the meal (so much so that I couldn't even stop her to get her name), so we asked Isabel to take our photo. The best in customer service, not to mention very pretty herself -- she made sure our photo was well taken, took time to suggest our seating arrangement...my husband and I really appreciated it. Found someone who knows how to take that extra mile to make customers feel well taken cared of. The entire experience at this restaurant was just splendid.

Such a pretty spot for date night! Parking was easy as it's in a business center I believe. We used valet but probably could have just self parked. Super nice person working valet too! We walked in and what a beautiful set up! The colors the ambiance, I loved it! Greeted as we walked in and seated right away, we had reservations. Server and staff amazing! Started with a cocktail and delicious! Asked for the Bartender's Whim to see what fun drink I'd get as I love surprises and it was tasty and pretty! The s''more...delicious!!! We had a couple appetizers to start and they were both delicious!! Then a bottle of wine with our entrees that they keep an ice bucket next to us and kept our glasses full! Entrees came out hot and so good! Fish was not dry and very tasty! The sides were also great tasting! Bathrooms are clean and it's a pretty big restaurant! Will definitely be back!

We had a very fun server who was a bartender plus! Funny and informative. The atmosphere is gorgeous and next level vibe! The food was delicious and the price point for happy hour hit the mark! 4 glasses of a vey good Pinot (not usually on HH menu but added because it was available) and 3 appetizer was $60 plus tip! We had the green beans and goat cheese tomato crostini were amazing! The shrimp was nice but not as good.

    Chicken Milanese- incredible

I've now had 3 almost perfect experiences here so an upgraded rating is warranted. Service, including the amazing bartenders, is always great. Ambiance and vibes are super cool. Food is to die for! We shared the short rib fries and they were absolutely perfect. 10/10 no notes! The chicken Milanese was good too. And the matcha cocktail?! I don't normally choose whiskey but wow it was perfect! I love this restaurant and will probably be back for date night soon.

Is the ribeye steak sandwich still on the menu?

    Is there ample parking available?

    Yes always plenty of parking

The restaurant was already quite busy, with the indoor dining area nearly full and only a few outdoor tables still available. There were three parties ahead of us in line to order, but fortunately the line moved quickly. By the time we finished ordering, we were lucky enough to find a comfortable indoor booth. BlueBerry Social has a modern café atmosphere with a clean, bright, and welcoming interior. Since this was intended to be a lighter brunch, we wanted to avoid ordering anything too heavy. One thing that immediately caught our attention was their unique take on omelets. Instead of serving a traditional folded omelet, they present it almost like a sunny-side-up egg with all of the cooked ingredients beautifully arranged at Center of Omelette. It gives the dish a much fresher and more elegant presentation while allowing every ingredient to stand out like a flying saucer. For our brunch, we ordered the following: Jill's Combo - (Excellent) This combination was the perfect balance of both sweet and savory. The blueberry ricotta pancake was light, fluffy, and full of fresh blueberry flavor without being overly sweet. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the accompanying breakfast sides rounded out a satisfying but not overly heavy brunch. If you're visiting for the first time, this is an excellent introduction to what BlueBerry Social has to offer. Hash brown tote was delicious and crunchy. Farm Fresh Veggie Omelette Scramble - (Excellent) This was probably the most visually appealing dish on the table. Unlike a traditional folded omelet, the eggs were presented with beautifully cooked vegetables surrounding the rich. The avocado, zucchini, mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, spinach, and sweet corn all tasted incredibly fresh, making every bite colorful, flavorful, and surprisingly light. It was a healthy dish that never sacrificed flavor. It too has that delicious crunchy hash brown. Brisket Hash + Omelette - (Excellent) Easily one of our favorite dishes of the morning. The slow-braised brisket was tender, juicy, and full of flavor, pairing perfectly with the crispy potatoes and vegetables. together with the brisket to create a rich, comforting bite every time. It too has that crispy hash brown. Iced Latte - (Great) Smooth, balanced, and refreshing without being overly bitter. It was exactly what you would expect from a quality café latte. Blueberry Crumble Latte - (Excellent) This turned out to be the surprise favorite among our drinks. The blueberry flavor was subtle and natural without tasting artificial, while the crumble notes added just enough sweetness to make it unique. It was both creative and delicious. Matcha Latte - (Great) Rich matcha flavor with a smooth, creamy finish. It wasn't overly sweet, allowing the natural earthiness of the matcha to come through nicely. Overall, BlueBerry Social exceeded our expectations and provided one of the best brunch experiences we've had in quite some time. The restaurant offers a refreshing twist on traditional breakfast favorites, with beautiful presentation, fresh ingredients, and excellent execution throughout the menu. Every dish looked as good as it tasted, and the specialty coffee drinks were equally impressive. Our favorites were the Brisket Hash + Omelette, Farm Fresh Veggie Omelette Scramble, and the Blueberry Crumble Latte. Combined with the bright atmosphere and friendly service, it made for the perfect light brunch before our birthday dinner. BlueBerry Social easily earns a well-deserved 5-star rating from us.

8/05/26 5:18 p.m. University Town Center…read more I decided to try the Peruvian Steak today without avocado. I usually order the Not So Fried Chicken, but I wanted to switch things up. I'd rate the Peruvian Steak an 8.5/10. The bread was perfectly toasted, the mustard added just the right amount of kick, and all of the flavors complemented each other well. It would have been a perfect 10/10 if one side of the bottom bun hadn't been completely soggy from the mustard spilling out of the sandwich. I ordered my sandwich to go, so if I had waited until I got home to eat it, I think the entire bottom of the sandwich would have been soggy. That was disappointing. For to-go orders, I think Mendocino Farms should automatically serve the mustard in a separate sauce container to help prevent this issue. My other qualm was with the pickup process. When I received the text that my order was ready, it read: "Your order at Mendocino Farms - 10 - UC Irvine is ready for pickup. Please proceed to the counter." Some restaurants have signs explaining whether customers should grab their to-go orders themselves or wait for a team member to assist them. I waited patiently at the counter for several minutes while a team member saw me standing there but didn't acknowledge me. After about five minutes, I finally asked, "Can I grab my order?" The process felt confusing and could have been communicated more clearly. Overall, I thought the sandwich was delicious and a great portion size. However, I think the to-go process could use some improvement. I ended up eating my sandwich in the restaurant because I could already see the bread becoming soggy when I picked it up, which wasn't part of my original plan.
