When they are friend they are EXTREMELY friendly, when they aren't friendly, they almost always give off the "I hate my job and you" vibe. The spot always smell delicious and I always seem to order one more Julep than I actually want. The beef and chicken skewers are worth it though. I've had the platas before as well and was moderately surprised by the quality of the rice. Mobile ordered to avoid the crowd. Seating is absolutely awful. This spot is located inside Disneyland Park in Adventureland across from Indiana Jones. One of my favorite spots to get a quick bite. You can order individual skewers but my preference is getting the plate because then it becomes a little meal! The plate comes with rice, slaw, and two skewers of your choice. The last time I went I had the bengal beef which comes with the sweet sauce and the Pork Belly skewer which is a mix of asparagus and pork. It was yummy! Controversial opinion, but I love the changes they made to Bengal Barbecue this year! The Chieftain Chicken Skewer sauce was never my favorite, since I don't really like sweet sauces on meat. I really enjoy the new teriyaki sauce, but I dip the meat in the banyan sauce because that one is my favorite. I also really did not like the cilantro slaw they had before, and the new creamy pineapple slaw is a definite upgrade. My bf and I decided to get the two skewer rice platter and got one spicy beef skewer and one regular beef skewer. Bengal Barbecue is a popular option for quick service meals at Disneyland, and you can find it at Adventureland, across the way from the Indiana Jones Ride. If you have the foresight, book your food in advance using the Disneyland app. I didn't have the foresight because we had other reservations; so, I waited in line for upwards of thirty minutes. After walking 25000 steps through the park, I wanted some meat and I needed some caffeine, and this place has both. For caffeine options, they currently have a thai tea slush and a vietnamese coffee. The thai tea definitely did the job for me. It had "brown sugar spheres", which is how they worded "boba". You know what? I actually liked their thai tea as it reminded me of the cans I can get at Asian grocery stores. The "boba" (aka sugar spheres) had a slightly different chew than what you'd have at asian stores; however, it was fine. As for the meat, I went with their "spicy" Banyan beef skewer, their safari skewer (bacon wrapped asparagus, served with lemon), and their pork belly skewer with hoisin sauce and carrot/daikon. If you want to do what the influencers do, then get their skewer and put it in the garlic bread that you can find at Edelweiss Snacks or Maurice's Treats (both at Fantasyland). I just wanted all of the protein today. And I enjoyed the meat that was flame grilled. Though many people talk about the meat being overcooked, that wasn't my experience. The beef was still nice and pink on the inside. While it wasn't the finest cut of beef, I enjoyed the mildly spicy kick and the decent portion size for the $8 skewer cost (generally pricey, but it's value when you consider a churro is $7 at Disneyland). The pork belly had banh mi vibes as it was layered with carrot and daikon and slathered in hoisin. If I were to eat this with bread, then this would be my choice. The bacon wrapped asparagus had crispy bacon around grilled asparagus and it was perfect with the lemon. My wife rated this closer to three stars as she didn't prefer the sauce-heavy meat and the chewy cut of beef. She ate her pork belly skewer and felt the sauce was pure hoisin from the bottle. There is a lot of seating in the neighboring diningroom area which used to be part of the gift shop. While our visit was during the week, the park was still busy, but lines were not an issue. We tried two: Impossible™ Lettuce Wraps ($12.49, Grade C) - Impossible™ meat, shiitake mushrooms, green onions and water chestnuts with sweet chili-soy sauce. That's a mouthful to say, unfortunately it's nothing I'd come back for. They use a butter lettuce that can't hold up to the meat. It was literally "impossible" to pick up - fell apart "im-meat-iately" (that's immediately if you were wondering). The dish would have been better served on basic iceberg lettuce leaves. I'll stick with my PF Changs lettuce cups. The Impossible™ meat was plentiful, but lukewarm. Taste? Just okay. Texture - another reason to have iceberg versus butter lettuce. If you do decide to order this, suggest asking for a side of rice. Bottom line - cool place. Staff is super friendly and attentive. They constantly keep it clean. My husband and I grabbed a quick bite during 90s nite and got the pulled pork sliders, bengal rice plate with the banyan and chicken skewers, a bengal beef skewer, and the jungle julep slushy. I ordered via mobile order and the food came out quickly. Seating was hard to find, there were very limited tables in a crowded area. The pulled pork sliders were a good portion. The bread was already soggy from the coleslaw yet the pulled pork was dry with barely any sauce. The Mac salad was okay and was more on the vinegary side. I do love those Maui onion chips. We also got the bengal rice plate which came with two skewers. We added a third one to try which ended up being my favorite which was the bengal beef skewer. The cost is on the pricey side for what you get. I don't think it's worth it to be honest but I could see myself getting a bengal beef skewer again one day if I'm truly craving it. read more
