Let me start off with... everyone was friendly; BUT there are things that needs to be improved. Our server lady was nice and smiley, very inviting.... But her service wasn't attentive.... I had to flag her down multiple times and for a long time and the other server noticed and came to take over for her multiple times.. Busser dude was more attentive than my server, too attentive, BUT cmon ... we're still eating and he keeps trying to take our plates to clear it... doesn't wait till we're done he comes every time an entree plate is done but our plates would still be full... so I had to keep telling him we're not done.. I dont want your unsanitized hands touching my plate.. I know you're doing your job, but a little patience would be nice. This place has an open space in a big open lot; I used to come here time to time over the years but 10 year ago was way better and it was a hit. Came here to celebrate Mother's Day; the food was good at least, but nothing special. I've had better honestly. Came here excited because it's been a few years, we left with our taste pallet missing something. (I ordered a couple more entrees that weren't in my pics, the Thai Nakorn Fried Rice & Pad Thai) Food 3.5/5... Service 2.5/5.
Just okay. Everything was flavorful but quite expensive for the quality, ambiance, and portion size. The crispy pork belly tasted old and lacked seasoning. The tom yum was good but almost $20 for a small bowl and the chicken was dry. The seafood mint had good flavor but we ordered spicy and it was not spicy at all. The server was kind but never checked back in.
I tried Pad See Ew lunch special here today. The food was pretty good. The combo came with veggies spring roll and side salad. Although I'd just get a full price Pad See Ew next time for a couple dollars more. The Lime Thai Tea was also nice and refreshing. A drink rather hard to find in OC, but now I know where to get one!

I came on a Monday during lunch at opening time. i Saw that they have updated their menu as well as having a happy hour menu. I opted for the regular entree, I was deciding between the pad thai and street style pad thai, the waitress told me the pad thai was more like ketchup while the street style pad thai was more traditional with tamarind sauce, and has more of a tangy sauce. I opted for the street style pad thai with chicken n shrimp. The street style pad thai portion size was good, lots of tofu and good amount of chicken and 2 pieces of shrimp. It was saucy and wasn't dry, the pad thai flavor was definitely on the tangy side, personally preference I prefer my pad thai to be a bit more sweet, but still overall a solid Pad thai 4/5. I would want to come back and try the regular pad thai or even the happy hour menu during lunch time.
I'd say this spot is one of the best places to get thai food. Thai nakorn fried rice with shrimp (spicy level: Spicy): 9:/10 You can taste the heat from cooking it in the wok. Pad thai with shrimp(not pictured): 9/10 Nice and tangy. Recommend adding a good squeeze of lime juice and chili powder. Chicken Pad See Ew(not pictured): 8/10 Chicken was nice and moist. Thai Tea: 9/10 I like my thai teas nicely balanced with the right amount of cream and tea ratio. Mango Sticky Rice: 8/10 It did not look like the picture they had on their menu. Price point is a bit much... for half the price; it would've been better. Mangoes were good and ripe though.
I am way over due to update my review. Have been coming here for years but not as much lately because the prices always go up and the portions always go down and unfortunately it's still true. However I had to come back because I haven't found any other restaurant that does their larb, spicy basil fried rice, and ong choy like this restaurant. Each item is flavored to perfection. I used to add more fish sauce but this time everything was perfect right off the plate. Everything came out fresh the on choy garlic and crunchy, their beef quality here beats all the other Thai restaurants beef quality I eat too and it shines in the larb and basil fried rice with tender beef that is so easy to chew. When I'm craving these 3 dishes I have to come here it's the only place I know with those 3 dishes the most flavorful. They have 5 levels of spice and I went with a 3 but definitely could go up to 4 next time. Service is great as always. Food comes out quickly. Restaurant is big and spacious, and I think they have remodeled there was nice new tables, chairs, and booths. I will be back as I have been for years.
First time and definitely did not disappoint! I've been to multiple Thai restaurants and this location's portions and pricing is amazing! The flavors are perfect and food came out relatively fast. We shared this amongst three people and we were extremely full after. Our servers were so nice and attentive. I'd recommend all of these for first timers!
It's been a long time since I've been to this place at least two years and things have changed. They've redecorated. It looks a lot nicer. The menu has been simplified and the number of dishes has dropped dramatically. The prices have gone up, but that's the norm nowadays. Quantity is about average. I wouldn't say they're big portions or small portions, just enough. I ordered several dishes. I ordered the Ong choi, the chicken Pad See, but ended up getting a beef Pad See instead. A garlic pork dish which was tough and dry and a panang beef curry. The Ong Choi was tasty with what looked like peanuts or maybe beans as toppings. The Pad Su was a touch on the sweet side, but the curry on the panang beef is something I would put on top of white rice to add extra oomph. The service was quick and besides a little mistake in the ordering (no biggie) everything was fine. I do like the new decorations, but there is a weird smell as you enter the restaurant like a leaking gas line. Sit near the rear and you won't smell it at all. read more
I used to come here consistently pre-COVID. And it was THE place that all my Thai friends recommended for authentic cuisine. It was so good, I've recommended it multiple times over the years. Last night's experience was not what I so fondly remembered. We had the Ong Choy, the Beef Panang, Beef Pad Seew and the Pepper Garlic Pork. The meat in the Pad Seew was oddly cold compared to the sauce, same for the pork dish. And the meat was tough, leaving the impression it had been re-heated and tossed with new sauce. The Beef Panang was tasty but with very little meat to spare, particularly for a dish that costs $20. The only saving grace was the Ong Choy, overcooked but very tasty. Sadly, we don't think we'll be returning. I'm giving it 3 stars because I remember the quality and I am hoping it's was a one-off experience. read more
The Fried Fish with Mango salad was the best out of the dishes we got. Fish was crispy on the outside and the mango salad added the perfect touch of flavor. Pad Thai was good, what I would expect it to taste like. The crying tiger was tender and cooked perfect medium rare. However, it was very BLAND overall, especially the fried rice and pad sew. We also got the yellow curry which was very light, not much depth to it. Also, the water cups were metal so there was a metallic taste to the water in my opinion. Service was good and the restaurant itself is spacious. The TVs were playing the World Cup when we came so that was a nice touch. Chill place for a family style meal. read more

Consistently delivers (been here 50+ times). Great people, improved ambiance (just wish they'd turn the lights lower). Awesome family owned place. Street style pad Thai is a must have. This use to be our favorite Thai restaurant, but after today, I don't think we'll ever be back again. We ordered a pad see ew, beef and it was just straight ewwwww (nasty). There was a weird sour taste to the noodles which tells me none of the ingredients were fresh. This place definitely has no standards to let food go out sour like this. We drove 8 miles out of the way to support our old favorite restaurant, but now we know not to come back. I pray that we don't get a stomach ache, I only had a bite and threw the rest away. Approximately $18 wasted. Save your money and find another Thai restaurant! I suggest you going to Chada Thai on Brookhurst & Westminster where the ingredients are fresh. read more

ordered the thai boat noodle soup and the garlic shrimp. the garlic shrimp tasted great. very flavorful and they give sooo much garlic which pairs great with the rice. the thai boat noodle soup was not great. the broth was lacking in depth and they give a very small amount of noodle. however they do give a decent portion of meat. i did really like the spices they give on the side. it's spicier than other thai places i've been too which i love! read more

The Order Was Placed Through DoorDash. I Appreciate That My Customized Requests Were Followed For Each Item. Everything Was Decent Enough To Eat, But One Or More Items Had MSG! I'm Allergic To MSG!!! The (Dry Shrimp) Papaya Salad Was Too Sweet For My Taste. I Prefer It To Taste Tangy & A Bit Salty. The Pad See Ew (No Eggs) Didn't Have The Usual 'Smoky Wok' Smell/Taste. 4/5 A Long overdue review for Thai Nakon. My family love this Thai restaurant. For special gathering, since they are spacious, cozy ambience and fantastic customer service. What I like is that they have uniqe Thai dishes, such as : -Crispy fried rice ( similar to Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas) -Raw shirmp salad ( Vietnamese cuisine has a similar dishes so I was excited to see this on their menu) -Pineapple fried rice: My grandma Loves this dish here -Pad thai is pretry decent -Also recommend Tom yum soup. This place is a hidden gem that has authentic Thai food with affordable price. And ever since I found this place, it has been my and my family's go-to spot for the past few years. I have taken many of my friend groups here and now this has become their favorite Thai place as well. Their price has always been super reasonable and food has always been really amazing. Staff have been always incredibly fast and kind. This restaurant feels very homey and family-friendly. They recently made a new menu with (inflation) adjusted prices. My favorite dish- pompano fish- has gone up by $10!!! And we ordered mango with sticky rice, which was $15- more expensive than Pad Thai.... It's just a little sad how inflation has forced this place to increase the price this much... and now I don't know if I can proudly bring my friends to this place. I am surprised how I never posted a review for this place. It would have been a five star review easily and obviously, but now with the adjusted prices...... Food: 4/5 Pad kee mao was spicy and great, slightly more sweet than I had hope but overall tasty. The raw shrimp salad was delicious and perfect thai level spicy. Thai tea was way too sweet for my liking. Service: 3/5 Servers was ok, a bit of confusion but also the restaurant was packed! The servers were nice. Overall was not impressed with the food. It was picked as one of the best Thai restaurants on Reddit. Ordered Pad see ew, Spicy basil fried rice and yellow curry. The curry and pad see ew were bland and the chicken was shredded into small pieces. I think there are so many other Thai restaurants that are really good and flavorful. read more

BEST THAT PLACE EVER We came in with a party of 8 and I was very impressed with the quick service provided at Tha Nakorn. I've visited multiple thai places in OC but none compares to Thai Nakorn. 1. Meat sticks (5/5): I forgot what this is called but it was SOOOO good. It has an interesting flavor almost like peanuts but it tastes so good we ordered 3 orders! 2. Clams with basil (3/5): it was great also! I wish it was a bit spicier. Still great and good portion regardless! 3. Thai Tom yum 4/5): SOOO good and fillling! Food: This Thai restaurant received an award from the Thai Government for their authentic thai foods. Their street style Pad Thai was so flavorful with notes of savory and tangy flavors. It was cooked perfectly and complemented well with strong curry flavors. Don't forget to leave room for dessert like their Mango Sticky Rice and Coconut Pudding. I usually don't get dessert at restaurants, but I loved the Coconut pudding! It comes out in an actual coconut and you get to carve out the pudding from inside the coconut. I loved trying so many different authentic Thai foods! I was familiar only with the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew when I thought about Thai food, but I was happy to be able to expand my horizons on Thai food. Service: Every staff member I interacted with were so friendly! There were foods I have not tried before, and they were great at explaining the flavors of each dish. Ambiance: Indoor Seating only. No, we sold the Garden Grove location back in 2018! The original family owns the Stanton location only.
