Danh Thai is located inside the Golden Market (food court) I got the chao ga and a side salad (aka goi) came out to $7. Wow the "side order" of the salad is HUGE! Definitely always plus. I've gone twice in one wk and I'm hooked! The 2nd time I came, I ordered #6 which is 1/2 chicken, 2 chaos and a salad. Enough to feed 3 ppl and we had leftovers. Will def be back. Honorable Mentions: -Plenty of parking -Cash Only -Good for groups

1/2 chicken, two porridges, and side salad for $20!!!

For $20 they gave two porridges, a whole half chicken, and a huge side salad. It's a super great deal! And the food was delicious as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND This place is located inside the Golden Marketplace near Mochinut.

If you're craving rice porridge, this spot is really good for delicious affordable chicken/duck porridge and also another items. The menu is straight forward and the portions are very generous.

My Go-to porridge spot was closed so I went here instead... I wanted to order the 1/2 duck porridge with salad but for some reason, an elderly asked me to order the 1/2 chicken with porridge instead. The food is really not bad, in fact its really cheap. The 1/2 chicken with porridge serves 2 and is only $15 (there were leftovers too). The rice grains in the porridge were very big. The chicken was not tough but not exactly tender. The fried shallots sprinkled on too was a great way to elevate the plain dish. So overall, its an average 3/5 for me. Great to go when on a budget!

The food is delicious and the service is great as well. We had came right when they opened and they were super friendly. The sitting area and the environment is very comforting as well. I would highly recommend coming here and getting the vịt tưới 1/2 con. It's comes out to $27 which is really cheap considering how much food you get.

It's basically a Vietnamese food hall disguised as a supermarket outside... a delicious trap filled with sizzling things, snack counters, and the kind of aromas that make you forget whatever was on your actual shopping list. This time? Absolute chaos!! Turns out we showed up during Lunar New Year celebrations, so the place was super packed like everyone collectively decided they needed noodles at the exact same moment!! The vibe was festive, loud, and wonderfully overwhelming. The parking lot is technically huge, but you'll see it's s a competitive sport. Quoc Thai advertised this place on the radio daily and it was interesting being there. He is good at advertising but the information doesn't match with the actual store deals. Typical. It was OVERWHELMING with so many signs and pictures and stuff every where. It felt disorganized and not clean. Some older folks in there had a strong scent of Eagle oil (dau do xanh) even in passing! There were boba shops, Pho, shaved ice, sea foods, baked Catfish, Thai Food, Chao Long and many more Vietnamese dishes etc. It's definitely perfect for eating in groups and eating late but some vendors were closed and each has their own hours. I tried Hello Cafe and Loopy Loop. I felt overstimulated with signs and pictures and so many options of "deals" but not really "deals". Buy 2 get 1 drinks come out to around $18 so $6 each drink? If two drinks cost $18 - I dont think I want to pay $9 for a drink. Yikes! 50/50 coming back. Parking is plenty in the front.

The pre-marinated meat section was also large and a huge seafood section. However, the produce was not the freshest. The turnover rate is probably less than the smaller stores due to the variety. This is probably the closest place for us to get that Lunar New Year vibe but since we're very familiar with the area, we pretty much finished one lap and then decided to head elsewhere for food. For anyone interested, here are the details: **23rd Annual Lunar New Year Flower Festival** Asian Garden Mall 9200 Bolsa Ave, Westminster, CA 92683 Dates: 1/29 - 2/15/2026 Flower market vendors: Daily 10AM - 10PM (Located at the main plaza right in front of Asian Garden Mall) Food night market vendors: Thursday-Sunday only, 6PM - 10PM (The food stalls are on the left side as you face the mall) Just a heads-up: the flower market itself is actually pretty small. You can walk through it in one short loop. Vendors sell flowers, red envelopes, Lunar New Year decorations, couplets, hanging ornaments, firecrackers, and some traditional Vietnamese outfits. If you're coming specifically for a big flower market, it's good to manage expectations because it's quite limited. On the left side, there's a short row of food stalls offering grilled meats, seafood, Vietnamese spring rolls, fried snacks, sugarcane juice, steamed corn, grilled corn, and more. The selection is fairly diverse. Since there are regular storefronts right across from the stalls, the area feels lively at night, with temporary tables and chairs set up- definitely has that night market vibe. Most food vendors (like 9 out of 10) don't list prices, so you'll need to ask and they're cash only. If you're expecting a huge flower festival or cheap night market food, you might feel a bit disappointed. Prices are on the higher side, more like special event pricing. That said, it's a once-a-year festive atmosphere, so if you're already there, might as well enjoy it and not overthink the cost. At night, you'll see lots of Vietnamese families coming out together to eat, and there were even aunties and uncles singing and dancing in front of the mall. It was pretty fun to watch. Parking gets very crowded in the evening and can be tough, so street parking nearby and walking over might be easier. The mall itself closes around 7PM, but if you come earlier, it's actually worth spending some time inside. The second floor is split pretty evenly- half of it is clothing shops, and the other half is jewelry stores selling diamonds and gold. I even had my engagement ring resized here before, and the pricing was very reasonable. There's also a food court on the first floor, so if the night market food doesn't appeal to you, you can eat inside the mall, walk across to the Seafood Palace plaza, or head a bit further toward the plaza nearby T & K Supermarket for more dining options.
