Hadn't had Teriyaki in a long time and it left perfect on a cold and rainy day. It reminded me of some of the stellar Teriyaki places I used to eat at when I lived in Seattle. Location is in a strip mall with plenty of parking in Fullerton. It's a popular local spot and we saw a pretty diverse crowd getting take out and dining in. The size of everything here is massive and if you like huge meals and a lot of food for decent places this will definitely appeal to you! Chicken + Beef Bento Box: Comes wtih Salad, California rolls, tempura, and miso soup. Maybe we eat abnormally little but this was enough to feed my wife and two kids. Check and beef were good and not too sweet though I wish there was more of a char taste on them. Chicken + Beef Plate: Came with a salad, absolutely heavy and overfilled takeout box. It could easily feed 2 adults and was jam packed with chicken and beef. read more

Idk why I never came in sooner. Literally, I work down the street. Had to come and grab quick dinner for my teen for after school practice. Chicken teriyaki with rice no veg. Decided to buy another and two combo bowls. Can I say serving size? Yes please. One bowl is like two meals especially for the price. FTW!!! Food was well cooked and seasoned well. Extra sauces coz that's a must. I wish they had menus to go so I can keep one at work. read more

Teriyaki Express never misses. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked fast without feeling rushed. Portions are solid, the teriyaki sauce is on point, and everything tastes like it was made with care. The staff is friendly and keeps the place moving, even when it's busy. The inside decor is very simple, but it gets the job Done and it is always clean. This is one of those spots you can rely on every single time--great value, great food, zero complaints. Definitely a go-to. read more

Rude guy at the counter, he needs to work on his customer service. Food was decent but portions were small for the price. I had high hopes for this place but never coming back again! read more

I had some errands to run in Fullerton & got hungry so I decided to check out Teriyaki Express. I got the chicken/steak rice plate with the 3 shrimp on top and salad honestly the food is absolutely delicious! Food came out fast, they gave out plenty of sauce on the side. Good service & great quality teriyaki for sure! I'll be coming back for more and also trying the sushi next time. 5 stars !! read more

I was craving some teriyaki chicken and I am not from this area, so I was basically choosing a restaurant based off of people's reviews. This place had pretty good reviews and pricing, so I decided to come here and see what the good reviews were about. First, pulling up to the restaurant it seemed like a hole in the wall and these tend to be the absolute best. I ordered a teriyaki chicken plate and a side of 8 piece California roll. I can confidently say that the Cali rolls were huge!! The imitation crab and the rice had pretty big portions. The gentleman taking my order was definitely nice and super helpful. Overall, the food was pretty average but definitely worth the price for the amount of food you'll get read more

Best Teriyaki in Town been eating here for a few years now. The inside has plenty of seating and the brothers that own this place really care about quality food and service! Support local buy local!! Mid. Overrated. This place is on the same tier as Yoshinoya or Panda Express, pretty mid. Yelp reviews are inflated. My $12 bowl of rice, chicken, and beef did not come with vegetables. read more

Teriyaki Express - 3. Combo Bowl (Chicken + Steak) - Japanese Near Me - Fullerton, California

How do I say this? This place is the teriyaki gold standard! A hidden gem tucked in the industrial district of East Fullerton. Upon seeing the reviews and pictures, I wanted to give it a try. Walking in, the place seemed busy with what I assume were the locals/regulars who already know this as the "spot." We ordered a salmon plate, a teriyaki bowl, and a combo bento meal. The overall food was excellent, and the teriyaki is probably some of the best you will try in the land of the OC. My expert recommendation is to go for the bento meal and here's why. You get your meat and rice (we got the beef-chicken combo), a side salad, 4 fat size California rolls, tempura (1 shrimp, 5 veggies; probably the best tempura I've had in awhile) and miso soup. The bento literally costs $1 more than the plate meal. I shared this with my wife and, yes, I was full! Great food, nice staff! I highly suggest this place if you are hungry and you want a tasty meal! read more

Really can't go wrong when you go on recommendation from others yelp reviews! I was not near home and wanted a good chicken bowl so I opened up Yelp, and this was the first place that came up! I was so surprised to walk in and see so many empty tables ‍ it is kind of in an odd little strip center, mostly surrounded by businesses and industrial. My guess would be they are much busier during the day. The service was super friendly and very quick, I could hear them cooking my food so I knew it was going to be fresh and piping hot. I'm usually a little picky with beef so I never order it out (without having a back up) so I went for the combo bowl (steak and chicken) It was delicious, i actually ended up loving the steak and would 100% order it again! Don't get me wrong, the chicken was very tasty as well, but the marinade on the beef was outstanding! Not sure what cut of meat it was, but it was thin, very tender, perfectly marinated and cooked small strips. If you are thinking of trying this place, don't give it another thought... GO! You won't be disappointed. read more

I've been going to Teriyaki Express and we love their bento box and chicken bowls. The chicken is so tender and delicious. Get extra sauce because it's that good. The beef and well marinated and so juicy. They close at 7pm which makes it very convenient for a quick pick up dinner option. They are also open on Saturdays from 10:30-7pm. This is a must try if youve never had it. read more

The food is good for the price. The meat is tender and nice. The service is quick and easy for a quick lunch

This place is my go-to for a good grilled chicken or beef teriyaki bowl. The portions are generous and the price is amazing; you can get a bowl with beef, chicken, or both for only about $8. The flavor is nice with grilled meat, the rice is fresh, and everything comes quick. One tip: ask them to put the sauce on the side. It tends to be on the sweet side, so having it separately lets you control how much you pour. read more

One of the most low-key spots for teriyaki bowls, and honestly my top 5 around OC for -Quality (Angus steak was delicious did not need any additional sauce; Chicken was great) -Salad was refreshing - Portions are generous for what you pay. It was so good I ordered again because I was disappointed with Yamas Teriyaki bowl. Must check out for a plate if your really hungry or get the bowl for portioning. (Still generous) Spicy chicken kaarage bowl is a hit or miss all honesty. Overall definitely a must try for your teriyaki bowl fix. read more

Found this spot on Yelp and I definitely needed a quick lunch after class. I had the crunchy roll which was as big as my forearm and came with a healthy amount of crunch and imitation crab. Come here if you're ever looking for some great take out around Fullerton/Placentia! read more

Quick service, delicious food and great price! Amazingly friendly owner!! Will definitely be going back!

My friend and I split the combo bento box. It was delicious! Cost about $17.50 incl tax. Bento box comes with miso soup, tempura combo, salad, a small California roll and teriyaki chicken and beef with rice. We loved everything. The place is small and clean with rock n roll playing loudly. Service is efficient and thoughtful. Go for it! read more

I picked up two rolls California and crunch. The rice was a bit hard and compressed which made it extremely hard to eat! Also the roll is rice heavy which the sushi falls apart before you get to the middle. I think there teriyaki must be very good because in my opinion sushi needs work. read more

This place use to be my parent's business and I am happy that the new owners are living out their legacy and keeping the food the same taste. Thank you! Was craving TE food so ordered online ... the prices are increased when you order through grub hub so be aware of that. But the food was great! Lots of chicken in the chk veggie bowl and the salmon plate was a good sized salmon. This is way better than waba, so don't waste your time at waba and get your teriyaki fix here!! read more
