My sister and I live nearby and happened to see it while driving. We were craving Mediterranean one day and remembered this place. The service was amazing. Portion sizes were worth the price. Everything was fresh and flavorful. This place will definitely become part of our local favorites.

It was my first time here and it's officially my new favorite Mediterranean spot! I created my own bowl with paprika and turmeric shawarma and a handful of fresh toppings. There's so much variety of protein and toppings to choose from and they give generous portions too. It also came with fresh warm pita on the side. The worker was super friendly and genuine and this place deserves more recognition! There's adequate seating inside and the interior remind me of an aquarium! Highly recommend this spot!

The food here is AHHHMAZING! I can't believe it took us so long to come here! The portions are huge too. We like to share a kabab plate and add an extra skewer. It's easily become our new favorite Mediterranean spot. The service is also incredible! The owner is so attentive, and welcoming - he couldn't have been friendlier. It's a local gem for sure!

I came here with a couple of my coworkers and it was our first time here. We came at a good time when it wasn't busy and there were maybe two or three tables occupied. There were a couple customers who came to get takeout and left while we were checking out the various menus. We ordered our food at the register and Carlos bought our plates out to us. Carlos was very kind and explained all of the menu options. You can build your own bowl or wraps or choose from different combinations. Carlos gave us samples of the different types of lemonade, which I found all refreshing. My favorite was the peach drink. I got the number one combo of chicken and ground sirloin kebab. Honestly, for the price point, I thought it was on the higher end for quick service type of food. Next time, I think I'll try the bowls or wrap which is a little more work lunch friendly for my wallet. As for the taste, my favorite part of my entrée was the hummus, and the salad was good. The beef was flavorful, but the texture was a little different than I'm used to but not in a bad way. The chicken was all right and seasoned nicely. The portions seemed a little small for the price. My coworkers said they liked their meals and we would come back. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and it was clean and inviting. Carlos was very engaging as there were no other customers that came after us right away. He was so kind and friendly and gave us coupons to return. We will put Hummus Way on our lunch rotation and bring our other coworkers.

Great place with great service and authentic food. Came here for lunch and got the bowl with Shawarma. It was really good and worth the price. They have so many spice and flavor options, it may get a little confusing but the staff were so good with recs. Give it a try if you're in the area.

Chicken bowl - the fried garbanzo shells were a delight

The freshness and quantity at Hummus Way is hard to beat. The roasted eggplant was better than that of my usual go-to (CAVA) and the fried garbanzo garnish was a genuine surprise. I didn't know garbanzo beans could taste light and airy. Carlos provided me expert service with efficiency and care. He even offered me a coupon of a free drink with entree. Though I don't like lemonade, I will be returning here for a takeout option that ensures I get leftovers for the next day.

Beautiful presentation, great variety of textures and tasty!!!! GO FOR IT!

So glad me and wife came in tonight in Good Friday. I enjoyed meeting and chatting with the 3 kind gentlemen, I can tell they care for their food quality, presentation and customer satisfaction. The platter was not only beautiful but great taste and texture, soooo enjoyable. I would recommend trying this place, it's in a small plaza nearby freeway so the traffic and signs can test your patience, but please know that when you arrive it will be WORTH IT.... enjoy Hummus Way like we did. Thumbs up.

Service was fast and friendly. Parking was a breeze. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the owner was very informative about the menu and their current specials. We opted for a BYO and their grilled fish special. Both were delicious and very filling. We were able to try a variety of hummus flavors and thoroughly enjoyed them all. The lemon artichoke was my favorite. They also had vegan sauces available, too! Will be back to try other items!

Overall very yummy food! First time stopping by hummus way & was pleased with the food portion & how delicious it was. I sure do recommend this place if you're hungry for some Mediterranean food as well. Great service too if you got any questions about the menu. (:

Boyfriend and I have seen this restaurant many times, but they always close so early. And because of that, we've never been able to try it - until this past weekend. We decided to order ahead of time and walk over to pick it up since we live fairly close by. The restaurant itself was surprisingly super clean. We did arrive a bit early so our food wasn't ready, but that wasn't their fault. The guy that was working finished up with the walk in customer who was already there and quickly went to prepare our food. Before handing our order to us, he even read back our entire order as he was packaging it - great, friendly customer service. When we got home, the food portions were plentiful and we were ready to dig in. Boyfriend ordered the Chicken and Beef Steak Kabob entree and I got a wrap with Lemon Artichoke Hummus, Spring Mix, Pesto Chicken Shawarma, Sumac Onions, Tabbouleh, Pickled Beets, Cucumbers, Lemon and Olive Oil, and White Garlic Sauce. We also ordered a side of their Pita Bread with 3 hummus's (Feta, Traditional and another one that had some spice). And omg, everything was bursting with flavor and we were so happy haha. Because how can you not be when you're eating yummy food? We will most definitely be coming back here to try more items on their menu. Very happy we found this gem so close to home.

The service was excellent and the best I have ever had in a long time. I'd been meaning to try this place for months and months and I'm so glad I did! Everything was fresh and made to order. Can't wait to eat here again. And again. And again!

Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing portions. I think what needs to improve is confusion on how to order. Luckily the person there help to take our orders. I had a bowl with rice, salad, then I'm not sure what the person behind the counter said but I had an order of lamb that was over rice. Then I have options of hummus, garlic sauce, and then I asked for my dish to be spicy and it sure was. This place is like a Mediterranean Chipotle. It's good and the 5/5 starts is deserving but it not quick perfect. I just know what I am one and done here.

Located on 1st in Santa Ana near Tustin, there's a wrought iron fence around the private lot, and the restaurant is open until 9pm most nights. I was surprised nobody was dining in, and except for a woman waiting for her takeout order to be made, I was the only person for most of the visit. I quickly realized the phone rings often, so most business is ordered ahead, with the option to eat there, in the car, or take home. Clearly, for presentation and likely quantity, I recommend eating there. The host is a nice older gentleman who literally does it all, and is so good it hardly seems like he's working. My Shish kabob plate came out faster than expected, and I was almost as impressed with the salad as the saffron rice and actual kabob, which is tender and amazing by the way. Basically, you pick a drink from the refrigerator, and I let him talk me into trying hummus, and appetizer, which ultimately comes with cut flatbread. His take is less creamy than other restaurants, but the flavors are fresh, without garlic. Don't worry, the salad dressing is a fantastic creamy Italian style. All-in-all, I was enjoying every bite and pretty much ate everything, although I preserved some hummus to eat at home. The price was commiserate with the quality, and I suppose I'll try more when I'm around the area.

It's pretty far from home, but I…read morecould easily work it into the flight path so to speak, between the Tustin REI and 17th Street in Costa Mesa. Located in a small but busy plaza, HOK is a small, potentially packed restaurant with a few tables outside. About half full mid afternoon on a Saturday, i got a table and quickly made a decision to try the combination plate with a chicken and kubideh kabob, with rice. Next time I'll branch out, but this first sample provided much pleasure and evidence that they can't do anything wrong (except be closed when I'm craving more ;) A few minutes after placing my order the warm flatbread came out with butter. Comparatively, many other Persian restaurants use Lavash sections, so I enjoyed the contrast. The neighboring table of four received their plates one at a time, so I figured the kitchen and grill were probably also fairly constricted like the lobby. Nonetheless, it didn't take long and the generous, colorful portions were a sight to behold! The first thing I noticed was how moist and tender both kabobs were. Not burnt or dry anywhere on either type. That's attributable to the elevated method of grilling, but here the chef has it down to a science. The second observation came later when I didn't feel excessively thirsty, or bloated, ir dehydrated. Some restaurants really brine the meat while marinating, but here it's another level of perfection. Good service and a reasonable price, although the menu prices might be behind current food costs. Still, it was totally worth it. I didn't have a way to keep leftovers in a safe temperature range, so I ate everything. Full, but not stuffed.

Wow, this place was SO good -- I'm already planning my next visit!…read more I went with my kids and we ordered a beef shawarma plate with double salad instead of rice, a chicken shawarma wrap made the classic way, and another chicken shawarma wrap made CRISPY. I kept saying..."I should have got the fries!" I watched orders of fries coming and out and they looked amazing. The portion sizes were incredibly generous -- when the food arrived, my first thought was that someone had brought me an actual mountain of shawarma! The food was delicious and the sauces were great. I'm always a fan of garlic toum, but they also had a spicy-ish red and a green sauce that I loved. There were a couple of other sauces I didn't get to try yet -- definitely a reason to go back. The service was friendly and fast, the restaurant was clean and well-lit, and there was plenty of seating. It's in a shopping plaza near the airport in Newport, surrounded by office buildings, and not somewhere I would have thought to visit otherwise. There was plenty of parking in the lot around 12:30 pm on a Saturday, although the store itself was packed with a line to order. I noticed that many people were ordering to go, so we managed to snag a table after ordering. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and asked for it to be "crispy." I didn't see that option listed, so I made sure they pressed it. Wow, that was AMAZING! Having it crispy on the outside was a nice touch, which contrasted from the soft texture inside. The chicken was very tender and full of flavor. It's has garlic sauce, but not a lot, so it may be worth asking for some on the side if you prefer it more saucy. Also, the wrap is on the smaller side, so maybe not the best option if you're hungry. We also ordered the loaded fries with beef to share among our group of 4. It was really filling! The beef was very tender, and the fries held up well under the toppings without getting soggy. I also liked the added crunch from the onions and cabbage. I didn't expect making a wrap crispy to be such a game changer, but it really was! It's definitely worth trying. And I'm ready to come back for another round.
