Good flavor meats good sauces and sides. I picked the tumeric chicken next time I'd opt for the steak. Pro tip ask for the sauces on the side.
Has a huge craving for Mediterranean food and found this place when i was browsing Yelp! I decided to create my own bowl with: Rice, Spring Mix, Pesto Chicken, and all the veggies. As for sauces / spreads, i had 2 scoops of tzatziki and 1 scoop of lemon artichoke hummus (max 3). My last set of sauces were pesto, Moroccan hot sauce, and garlic sauce. With tax, the total came out to be nearly $18.50 a little on the pricier side. All the flavors paired together so well, extremely flavorful! The portions are really good too because I still had leftovers to take back and still tasted fresh after a weekend in the fridge. The only thing I noticed were that the rice still was slightly hard. I'm not sure if the time I came (around 12pm) didn't give them enough time to let the rice cook more or maybe needed more water. Other than that, the staff member that served me was super kind and friendly, he kept checking in on me to make sure everything was good. So sweet! I'll definitely come back to try their other marinated chicken flavors!
Wow, we stopped here for a quick meal en route from San Diego to LA & were totally blown away by the food quality & selection. The sheer number of options is almost overwhelming, but based on everything we tasted, you can't go wrong. Though there's an Hibachi Boss menu (Asian fusion noodles/rice w/various proteins), we went with the Mediterranean Hummus Way menu. This included either bowls, loaded fries or wraps with proteins (chicken or try-tip shawarma, chicken/steak/shrimp/salmon kabab, falafel, etc.), rice or greens, a huge variety of spreads (traditional hummus, garlic sauce, cilantro pesto, Moroccan hot sauce, lemon & olive oil, etc.) plus all the toppings (tabbouleh, cucumbers, feta, tomato, onions, etc.) For context, we're huge Mediterranean food fans & have 2 spots we love in SD that we hit weekly. Hummus Way was far better & tastier in every way. My husband had the falafel wrap containing falafel fried on the spot with the works (you can pick 3 spreads) which he said was the best he ever tasted. Our chicken kabab plate & bowl was also made from scratch with the tender breast meat (the less dry & more $$ layer below the breast)...not only was the meat super-moist, it was also cooked & seasoned to perfection. I loved the hummus & toasted pita that came with the plate, & the accompanying salad was literally the lightest & freshest one I've tasted in a take-out grill like this. Finally, the service provided by the manager could not have been more helpful or courteous. He went above & beyond to guide us while ordering & then prepared our meal personally. Yes, making meals to order can take a few more minutes, but the end result is so worth any wait. Honestly, such high quality & care (not to mention pride in the product) is increasingly rare these days, so we really appreciated it. Delicious food plus great service means we'll find a way back...we're already looking forward to our next excuse for a road trip to make that happen :)
I recently discovered CAVA and have been on a mission to find a better option because of the inconsistent service and portions at CAVA. Hummus Way so far has been the answer to finding a much better CAVA. This place looks like it could be a franchise but it's not yet. You get larger portion with quality ingredients. VEGAN friendly and they cook their falafel to order so you're getting the fresher bowel/wraps. I love supporting Mom and Pop places like this. Hope you give it a try.
Food and service are exceptional! It's a gem in the neighborhood. We had food catered for a family event and it was a huge hit. Healthy food meets tasty colorful presentation. Because we enjoyed the taste so much we went to their restaurant to have lunch onsite. Tucked away; Quaint little place. Definitely recommend. Super tasty and fresh!
I came here with a couple of my coworkers and it was our first time here. We came at a good time when it wasn't busy and there were maybe two or three tables occupied. There were a couple customers who came to get takeout and left while we were checking out the various menus. We ordered our food at the register and Carlos bought our plates out to us. Carlos was very kind and explained all of the menu options. You can build your own bowl or wraps or choose from different combinations. Carlos gave us samples of the different types of lemonade, which I found all refreshing. My favorite was the peach drink. I got the number one combo of chicken and ground sirloin kebab. Honestly, for the price point, I thought it was on the higher end for quick service type of food. Next time, I think I'll try the bowls or wrap which is a little more work lunch friendly for my wallet. As for the taste, my favorite part of my entrée was the hummus, and the salad was good. The beef was flavorful, but the texture was a little different than I'm used to but not in a bad way. The chicken was all right and seasoned nicely. The portions seemed a little small for the price. My coworkers said they liked their meals and we would come back. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and it was clean and inviting. Carlos was very engaging as there were no other customers that came after us right away. He was so kind and friendly and gave us coupons to return. We will put Hummus Way on our lunch rotation and bring our other coworkers.
It was my first time here and it's officially my new favorite Mediterranean spot! I created my own bowl with paprika and turmeric shawarma and a handful of fresh toppings. There's so much variety of protein and toppings to choose from and they give generous portions too. It also came with fresh warm pita on the side. The worker was super friendly and genuine and this place deserves more recognition! There's adequate seating inside and the interior remind me of an aquarium! Highly recommend this spot!

The freshness and quantity at Hummus Way is hard to beat. The roasted eggplant was better than that of my usual go-to (CAVA) and the fried garbanzo garnish was a genuine surprise. I didn't know garbanzo beans could taste light and airy. Carlos provided me expert service with efficiency and care. He even offered me a coupon of a free drink with entree. Though I don't like lemonade, I will be returning here for a takeout option that ensures I get leftovers for the next day.
Service was fast and friendly. Parking was a breeze. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the owner was very informative about the menu and their current specials. We opted for a BYO and their grilled fish special. Both were delicious and very filling. We were able to try a variety of hummus flavors and thoroughly enjoyed them all. The lemon artichoke was my favorite. They also had vegan sauces available, too! Will be back to try other items!
So glad me and wife came in tonight in Good Friday. I enjoyed meeting and chatting with the 3 kind gentlemen, I can tell they care for their food quality, presentation and customer satisfaction. The platter was not only beautiful but great taste and texture, soooo enjoyable. I would recommend trying this place, it's in a small plaza nearby freeway so the traffic and signs can test your patience, but please know that when you arrive it will be WORTH IT.... enjoy Hummus Way like we did. Thumbs up.

Middle Eastern Chipotle. There's the investors pitch. Like a lot of places in the last decade this place follows the Chipotle model. Well at least it starts like that. You're main options are presented boldly on the sign above where you start. Bowls, loaded fries or wraps. Then you are walked through the many options of ingredients and sauces you can pick from. All of the ingredients I had in my generous sized bowl were fresh and tasty. But beyond the basics you have additional offerings like kebabs and traditional plate meals. Plus they have fish and chips. Also there is a Hibachi Boss popup inside. So many options that anyone in your group should be happy. read more

My sister and I live nearby and happened to see it while driving. We were craving Mediterranean one day and remembered this place. The service was amazing. Portion sizes were worth the price. Everything was fresh and flavorful. This place will definitely become part of our local favorites. read more
Boyfriend and I have seen this restaurant many times, but they always close so early. And because of that, we've never been able to try it - until this past weekend. We decided to order ahead of time and walk over to pick it up since we live fairly close by. The restaurant itself was surprisingly super clean. We did arrive a bit early so our food wasn't ready, but that wasn't their fault. The guy that was working finished up with the walk in customer who was already there and quickly went to prepare our food. Before handing our order to us, he even read back our entire order as he was packaging it - great, friendly customer service. When we got home, the food portions were plentiful and we were ready to dig in. Boyfriend ordered the Chicken and Beef Steak Kabob entree and I got a wrap with Lemon Artichoke Hummus, Spring Mix, Pesto Chicken Shawarma, Sumac Onions, Tabbouleh, Pickled Beets, Cucumbers, Lemon and Olive Oil, and White Garlic Sauce. We also ordered a side of their Pita Bread with 3 hummus's (Feta, Traditional and another one that had some spice). And omg, everything was bursting with flavor and we were so happy haha. Because how can you not be when you're eating yummy food? We will most definitely be coming back here to try more items on their menu. Very happy we found this gem so close to home. read more

Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing portions. I think what needs to improve is confusion on how to order. Luckily the person there help to take our orders. I had a bowl with rice, salad, then I'm not sure what the person behind the counter said but I had an order of lamb that was over rice. Then I have options of hummus, garlic sauce, and then I asked for my dish to be spicy and it sure was. This place is like a Mediterranean Chipotle. It's good and the 5/5 starts is deserving but it not quick perfect. I just know what I am one and done here. read more
This place has 4.9 stars and I honestly thought it would be a lot more authentic for Mediterranean food. The chicken was good, lots of flavor but it didn't taste like chicken shawarma if that's what you were expecting (like me). I was expecting a lot more than what tasted like chicken cooked in a crockpot. Not to mention how overpriced I thought this place was for Mediterranean food that tasted mediocre! I would say this is one of the best Greek places I've been to. The chicken bowl was so well seasoned, and if you're picky like me, there wasn't any chewy pieces of chicken. Oh my gosh it is seriously amazing, if you're thinking about trying this place just do it you will not be disappointed! The service is also amazing, the guy working was really friendly and explained everything to us and let us try samples of the drinks. The dragon mint drink is good, kind of like a tangy tea. The ambiance is nice and simple and very clean. Will be coming back here! read more

Wow, this place is a hidden gem, but EVERYTHING was delicious. We went in for an early dinner and my son and I split the chicken & filet skewer combo. The meat was on par with some of the best Persian restaurants I've been too, and since I married into a Persian family I've been to a lot. I love that this place is clean, family friendly, and the service was courteous and fast. Can't wait to go there again - I really want to try more things on their menu (lots of shawarma too) but how can I not get those tender and juicy kabobs?? The filet was legit filet - not some cheaper cut. And the chicken was melt in your mouth, done to perfection. Oh and the fries were pretty killer too. I'm going to dream about that garlic dipping sauce. read more

Hummus Way -- way to go! This venue is hidden toward the back in a plaza right off the freeway exit (Irvine Blvd off 55)! The parking is ample which I'm relieved to find adjacent to a condo-business complex off Tustin. Upon entering, Carlos (owner/cook) greeted me with a radiant smile! He super friendly and offered me sampling off all the prepared drinks. REMINDER: checkin on Yelp! I ordered the 2-combo plate! It's build as you go with fresh selection of ingredients-- base (rice, couscous or salad), 3-5 types of protein choices and all the toppings you desire! There were so many different options to choose from but you really can't go wrong they are amazing!! I really enjoyed the food! The falafel were very flavorful and held together well even after biting into them and the rice was well seasoned and fluffy. Unexpectedly, the star of the show was definitely the hummus. I got 3 scoops -- spicy, roasted eggplant and pesto. The only disappointment is that, he FORGOT to give me my pita bread! Ughhh. read more
