Vegan falafel wrap with tahini sauce and hummus spread.
Laura A.

This place is located at an outside food court type setting in Irvine. I love that there was a vegan option. The falafel wrap was good and filling. Service was fast.

Fast service and amazing kabob. Got it with the spicy mayo and French fries. Tasted just like the ones I get in France! Ambiance is nice and clean. No long waiting time and the staff was friendly.

Beef Doner Bowl (no sides)

One of the vendors in the Trade food hall. Casual, communal, open atmosphere that gets very busy during the lunch rush on weekdays. Order at the register, they give you a transponder, and it beeps when your order is ready. They were giving away free samples when I went, and were obviously very eager for business. Friendly service, and they accommodated me given that I didn't want any of the sides that came with the bowl I was ordering. I'm not too exotic when it comes to my diet, and I didn't recognize the side offerings. They charged me less for a bowl with no sides, which I appreciated. I mixed the base between fries and lettuce, and got beef doner as my meat choice. A couple pita chips and yummy yogurt garlic sauce on top. I enjoyed it and felt it was an almost fair amount of food. You're going to pay a premium for small meals from vendors at Trade, and this was reasonable at "only" $14 including tax and small tip as of July 2025.

We ate here for lunch today and had a great experience. We ordered a beef fladenbrot which is more of a German style of doner and it reminded me of when I was there a few years ago. The gentleman at the front was very nice and speedy, as he was also the cook. He turned out a perfectly crispy fladenbrot and their lamb/beef mixture has great flavor. If you don't like the gameyness of lamb, I wouldn't recommend it, but they have chicken as well. The sandwich was well balanced and a huge portion for the price. After half, I was already satisfied. They also offer Iskender for those who like tomato sauce or prefer this over traditional doner.

Grabbed a quick bite here. They had some samples out which was nice. Had the chicken wrap and did try the beef wrap sample which I wasn't crazy about. It's was ok had fries which weren't great and he gave me a soda with no ice. I'm pretty picky about kabob places as there are some really great ones close by so I wouldn't come out of my way to eat here

Today I had my lunch from this place. Taste of the food I don't like. I tried so many kebab places around here. All of them are very good, You guys have to improve your food taste. Sorry I'm not being rude but helping you to telling my honest opinion. I just got a one meal from you I could eat only few bites guys. Because taste of the food I did not like. Thank you for your service..

I came to the food hall where this is located. The worker was friendly and had some samples available to try which was helpful. I ordered the chicken bowl and it was a little different than what I was expecting. Not sure if it was the way the chicken was carved or the presentation of the plate, but I wasn't too impressed. The flavor was just somewhat bland. I probably should have looked at photos before ordering because their wraps look better.

Side of Fries, Cacik

I got the iskender with beef doner, cacik, and fries, and it was soooo good. I came on a weeknight and it wasn't too busy. The food came out fast and the iskender was literally the hottest takeout I've ever touched, so I knew it was freshly prepared. The meat was tender and flavorful, the pita was fluffy, and the cacik was delicious. The fries had some seasoning on it and we had them with feta sprinkled on top. I think it was supposed to have sauce on it but they forgot. Either way, the fries were delicious when dipping it in the cacik. Overall a filling meal and I'll be a repeat customer!

Mito's doner in Irvine is a place I've ordered from many times, and I've also dined in once or twice. Their service is consistently pleasant--staff is friendly, and the food is always packaged well for delivery. I've never had a quality issue when ordering online, which is rare for places that offer delivery, but I have noticed some inconsistencies in portion sizes and how they prepare certain meals. Looking at the chicken kebab bowl, the first thing that stands out is that while the chicken itself is well-seasoned and has a great texture, there just isn't much of it. The pieces are small, chopped up, and laid thinly over a significant amount of rice. While the rice is fluffy and cooked well, it feels like filler rather than a core part of the meal. The included vegetables--diced cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions--are fresh and add some needed crunch and acidity to the dish. However, they are more of a garnish than a substantial component. The pita triangles are a nice addition, but they aren't enough to make this meal feel truly balanced in terms of protein to carb ratio. If you're ordering this expecting a hearty kebab plate with a substantial serving of meat, you might be disappointed. The flavor is definitely there, but the portioning makes it feel light, and it may not be enough to satisfy someone looking for a filling, protein-packed meal. On the flip side, the chicken doner wrap is absolutely packed with flavor. This is the standout item and the one I always lean towards when ordering from Mito's. Unlike the kebab bowl, the wrap is loaded with chicken, seasoned well, and mixed with a great balance of fresh vegetables and sauce. The bread is perfectly grilled, giving it a satisfying crunch on the outside while remaining soft and pliable enough to hold everything together. Inside, the meat-to-veggie ratio is much more generous, with the chicken taking center stage rather than being an afterthought. The sauce adds a creamy, slightly tangy kick that pairs perfectly with the grilled meat. It's the kind of wrap that doesn't fall apart in your hands while eating, which is always a plus. The flavors meld together well, and each bite is rich and satisfying. Compared to the kebab plate, the wrap feels like the better value both in terms of portion and flavor intensity. One thing I've noticed recently is that Mito's doner has significantly increased its prices on DoorDash. While I can't say for certain if in-store prices have gone up as well, the jump in cost for delivery orders was very noticeable. This is something to keep in mind if you frequently order online. The quality of the food hasn't changed, but you're now paying more for the same meal. Mito's doner is a solid spot for Turkish food, with consistently good service and reliable delivery quality. The chicken doner wrap is the best option for a satisfying, flavor-packed meal, while the kebab bowl, while tasty, falls short in terms of portion size. If you're looking for a well-seasoned meal with generous portions, go for the wrap. If you don't mind a lighter, rice-heavy dish, the kebab bowl is still enjoyable, just not as filling as you might expect. The recent price increase on delivery apps is something to be aware of, but if you're willing to pay a bit more for convenience, Mito's doner remains a reliable choice for Turkish flavors in Irvine.

I should have gone to Tuk Tuk Thai. I was eager to try something new at TRADE and remembered that I had seen good reviews of Mito's Diner Express and figured I'd give them a try. I decided to try a wrap, which was a little pricey, but looked promising on the menu picture. Expectations vs reality. I have no idea what was in the picture because it sure did not resemble what I received. Very little meat, some lettuce, tomatoes and onions, all wrapped up in what seemed to be a tortilla - not even lavash! It hadn't even been grilled so it was just soft and tasteless. The chicken was very salty - not a good sign when you're relying on salt for flavor. If it was under $10, I wouldn't have expected much, but this was $15.99 - almost $20, with tax and tip. I hate writing bad reviews for small businesses, but this was the most disappointing meal I've had in years. If you're thinking about coming here and trying your luck, DO NOT order the wrap. The bowl or plate is probably a better bet because they won't be able to give you see the pathetic amount of food that I received because it would be visually obvious. Giving it two stars because the guy at the counter was nice. It's not his fault the food was so sad.

While looking for a quick late-night meal, we ended up here. We ordered the chicken doner bowl with fries as the base and came with a choice of 3 sides. The food was pretty good and perfect for a quick bite.

1. The bowl was flavorful and had good cuts of meat! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes as it is located in a food hall! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! It took about 10-15 mins! 4. Parking can get crowded on the weekdays after 11:30 pm! Note: You can do half beef and half chicken for the bowl! Photo: Soda, Falafels, Beef/Chicken Doner Bowl

Several beer pitchers in @ HACHI (just next door-shout out to them)-- for a celebration of a breakup, the end of midterms, or simply the triumph of continuing to exist (in THIS economy?? were all needing to praise ourselves for simply surviving) -- we found ourselves drawn, like moths to a fluorescently lit flame, to Halal Guys. Now listen. The food? Solid. Reliable. The kind of food that understands you are not here for nuance. You are here because life has punched you in the throat and you require a plate of rice, chicken, gyro meat, and mysterious white sauce to spiritually stabilize. I used to go to the OG one in NYC when i was getting punched in the throat there too. (PUNCHED IN THE THROAT BY ACADEMIA, FIGURATIVELY, y'all haver crazy imaginations outthere). BUT it;s the people... It's always the people... The staff. My siblings in falafel... it was 10 PM. You could feel the collective energy of "we have been serving drunk people since sunset and you are the 437th group tonight explaining your breakup story while pointing at the menu." Not judging, just warmth and the quiet aura of people who have seen things. Who have witnessed humanity at its lowest point: ordering extra hot sauce and then immediately regretting it. First Impressions (1/5) When I walked in, there was only one person working, handling the fryer, the register, and assembling plates. I genuinely felt bad for her, especially considering the steady line forming. What We Got (2/5) I ordered a regular plate, which is what I usually get at Halal Guys. Nothing customized or complicated, just the standard order I have had many times before at other locations. Taste and Quality (0/5) The food was shockingly bad. The rice was raw and crunchy, which was hard to believe at first. The meat pieces were tiny and very chewy, and the pita bread was extremely soggy. On top of that, it was only around 4 pm and the usual spinning meat and grill were not even on, despite the line picking up. Service (2/5) The worker was clearly trying her best, but one person running everything in a busy location is not realistic. She was constantly running back and forth between the fryer and the line, which made the whole operation feel chaotic and slow. Space and Atmosphere (3/5) The space itself was fine and what you would expect from Halal Guys. Clean enough, but nothing stood out positively enough to offset the food experience. Was It Worth It (0/5) Not at all. As someone who is pretty frugal and almost always finishes their meals, I could not finish this plate. It genuinely felt like a waste of $18. Final Thoughts This location does not seem to be held to the same standards as other Halal Guys in the area. This experience was disappointing from start to finish.

From what I understand, Aria is the recent addition to the growing Persian Empire of the Super Irvine dynasty. The parents run the grocery store, the daughters run the excellent Irvine Grill restaurant, and Aria Kitchen is their latest experiment. While we didn't order any Mexican fusion food, there were some of those same flavors that really came through. The bone marrow comes with a delicious garlicky olive oil to drizzle on top. The oil has a bit of a kick to it--- chili, maybe? that evokes more of a Mexican flavor profile than an Iranian flavor profile. Some of their fresh Pita dipped in it? Life changing. We liked the kabob--- it's pretty good. However, we're spoiled by their sister restaurant, Irvine Grill. Irvine Grill still takes the crown for our favorite kabob. Aria is still a strong contender, though! The Asheh Reshteh is probably my favorite dish here (if we're talking appetizers, their bone marrow is by far one of the best apps I've had ever). It's hard to find good Asheh Reshteh, because it has to hit that balance of well-stewed but not mushy. This one was excellent. They gave us plenty of Kashk to put on top too! Where Aria shines is in its variety and consistent quality. The food is all fresh and delicious, and the flavor combo (while surprisingly not wholly uncommon----NorCal has a handful of similar Mexican-Iranian fusion spots) is so well-paired. There's a damn good reason that Samin Nosrat opted for Mexico for her show when for geopolitical reasons she was unable to film with Netflix in Iran. Both cuisines love their citrus. I can't wait to visit Aria Kitchen and dine in-restaurant!

The bowl already comes with the raita sauce (a yogurt sauce), so I got the green sauce as my choice of sauce after asking the staff for recommendations. The protein portion was super generous and very well-seasoned with their spice. The green sauce was my favorite and everything in the bowl mixed well together. The whole bowl was delicious and it didn't feel heavy, wasn't greasy. The Kashmiri Chai and the guava mango lassi are the most popular drinks, so I decided to try the guava mango lassi. The samosas were also great! Crispy and not too oily. I also love that they use compostable takeout containers, including the lid! The interior looks nice and there are a few seats available. There's outdoor shaded tables and seats too. The only downside is that I wish the outdoor seats were a bit cleaner. There is a free parking garage, just make sure to park in the retail spaces.
