It's not a fancy place - clean and pleasant enough, but somewhere between a fast food place and a local cafe. I had flown into nearby John Wayne AIrport and needed to kill some time for rush hour traffic to lessen before the 2-hour drive to my final destination, and since I now make a point not to eat before or during flights, I was raging. Chicken Maison turned up on a quick Yelp check for nearby 4+ rated eateries, and the cheeky name won the day. I opted for the Spicy Chicken & Vegetable Kabob Combo with tabouli. I've had essentially this order at dozens of different establishments. The spicy chicken was incredibly moist, tender, and flavorful -- traits that are usually in conflict -- The vegetables and tabouli were fresh and everything of good quality. There wasn't a massive mound of rice or French fries to try to distract you from a disappointing kabob as I've had at countless other places. Don't bring your hoped-for future spouse here to wow with romantic ambiance, but if you want great food and good value, try Chicken Maison with good friends -- or solo on your way through town. read more

Everyone in our office lovesssss this place, and we keep coming back for lunch parties!!!!! The favorite flavors are spicy garlic and lemon basil. Their combos are perfect for sharing with the different sides. I ordered from Melissa today and she is THE friendliest and most patient taking my orders. The restaurant does get busy at meal times (even parking gets crowded), so I highly recommend ordering ahead online! read more

The food at Chicken Maison is good, but the customer service at this location was so rude and disappointing that I will not be coming back to this branch. While waiting for our food, we briefly stepped next door to purchase something. When we returned, we politely asked the cashier if our order was ready because we didn't know whether our name had already been called. Instead of simply checking our receipt or order number, the cashier rudely told us, "Wait for your name to be called." We explained that we had just returned and were only asking if he could check our receipt. He still wouldn't even look at it and repeated that we needed to wait for our name to be called. I was frustrated by his attitude, so I went to another counter and asked if our order was ready. The girl asked for my name and then said, "I have been calling you." I explained that we had stepped out briefly, which was exactly why we were asking if our order had already been called. Her response was basically, "Well, okay, here." There was absolutely no reason for either interaction to be handled with that kind of attitude. We were polite and simply asking for assistance. A quick look at our receipt and a courteous response would have resolved everything. What makes this even more disappointing is that I have been to the Fountain Valley Chicken Maison, and the experience there was completely different. The food may be the same, but customer service makes a huge difference. Good food does not make up for treating customers poorly. I will not return to this location. read more

Came here with coworkers for our intern's farewell lunch. This was my first time here. Plenty of parking - convenient plaza off Bristol not too far from South Coast Plaza. Area isn't super nice though - so heads up to stay vigilant in terms of safety. Restaurant - plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Little to no wait and we didn't have any issue with getting seats for everyone even with a larger party of 12 people. They let us move tables and chairs around and put them together. Staff was nice and friendly. I got the Salmon Alfredo. Food was good - very generous portion sizes. Not bad, I would recommend them, definitely worth trying at least once! Convenient and reasonably priced lunch spot! read more

Sister to the rescue once again with a Chicken Maison delivery to our home. This time, I am convinced I need to visit more often on my own. Their food has never let me down. We were surprised with their beef & chicken kabobs, rice, potato salad, and vegetable. What a pleasant and scrumptious surprise! Their kabobs are so good, and what I love is that their chicken tastes so tender. The rice and potato salad was delicious, and everything felt healthy and not too heavy. Chicken Maison is a perfect spot for a good meal, delivery, or even catering for a special event. I am looking forward to visiting in person next time. read more

I was in the area and wanted to something semi healthy after a long hike! My daughter recommended we go to Chicken Maison, the next one on our way home was in Santa Ana. We arrived and it was located in a shopping center, and there was plenty of parking. We walked in and the place was busy. The cashier was the sweetest girl with a big smile and very friendly. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating. They also have a clean bathroom. We ordered half chicken with the spicy lemon, garlic sauce, falafel, spicy hummus, and pita bread and vegetables. Everything was spectacular! The food was brought out to our table, hot, fresh and delicious. This place was already getting five stars, but if I can give them another star, I would. A manager or another employee came to our table and asked us how our food was and how we were doing. She was genuine, friendly, and not overbearing. I saw that she did this as she walked the floor. You don't get this kind of service anymore. We also were picking up our plates to tidy up after ourselves, and an employee came rushing to us to tell us that she would take care of it. Top notch service! I want to give this store location an applause for customer service and delicious food. If I'm in the area, I'm definitely coming back! read more

Great first time experience at Chicken Maison! I am new to the area, so was excited find some local restaurants, and Chicken Maison had such amazing reviews, I had to try it out. The cashier was extremely nice and helpful when ordering, making recommendations and telling me about the most popular dishes. I followed his guidance and ordered 1/4 Spicy Lemon Garlic Chicken, with maison rice and tabbouleh. It was phenomenal. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not dry at all, and the marinade was super flavorful. Mixing all 3 components together led to the perfect bite! I also tried their baklava, which I learned is made fresh in-house. It was flaky and tasty without being too sweet. I can't wait to return and also take out of town guests here! Next up I want to try the kabobs. read more

Good food, but the poor service is going to make me stop coming here. I live nearby and have been coming to this location a few times a month for years because I genuinely enjoy the food. Unfortunately, the service has become disappointing enough that I'm now considering taking my business elsewhere. During my most recent visit, I placed my order with someone who seemed annoyed to be doing their job. After noticing that customers who had placed much larger orders after me had already been served, I politely asked Desiree about my order. Her response was to rudely roll her eyes at me and walk away. I understand that working in fast food can be difficult, and I have empathy for employees who deal with demanding customers all day. But I wasn't being rude, unreasonable, or asking for anything out of the ordinary. I simply asked about an order that appeared to have been overlooked. A basic question from a customer should not be met with an eye roll and a dismissive attitude. I've supported this location for years, but good food can only go so far when the customer service makes you feel unwelcome. read more

Always had this place delivered but the food hits every time. Very generous portion sizes and all the chicken is well seasoned as there is no lack in flavor. They do not honor the deals they list on DoorDash for delivery. I ordered the buy 1 get 1 free special they had listed on door dash but i only received 1 entree. When i called to rectify the order they said they wouldn't honor the request since it was placed on DoorDash and that it was up to Door dash to rectify. Which doesn't make sense seeing how DoorDash doesn't prepare the food! They knew they set the buy 1 get one free 1 promotion for a certain dish so if the order came through they should've automatically honored the order even if there was was a glitch with door dash website. read more

She was able to help tell us her favorite. Another younger gentleman was also helping us and he was very personable and attentive. It was a calming and relaxing environment. 2000s R&B was playing and we were jammin while waiting for our food. Food: - 1/4 Chicken with rice and salad for $10 is a STEAL - I gave this one to my girlfriend and it's just as tender as I remembered it. Although the drumstick was a little bit more salty than the thigh for Spicy Lemon Garlic -Beef Kafta with Fallafel & Spicy Cole Slaw - I thought the beef was a little bit salty too but with the pita and salad it was good! My husband took the day off, so after shopping at South Coast Plaza, we were craving Chicken Maison. My husband is obsessed with their Spicy Lemon Garlic sauce. Chicken Maison is, dare I say, the best mediterranean spot in OC. There, I said it! We got the whole lemon basil chicken combo, with hummus and tabouli for our sides. Their sides are huge portions. We also got the gyro plate with potato salad and more hummus. They also give u pita bread. Let me tell you, everything was so fresh and delicious. Both of the meats were far from dry and had so much flavor. They have the best hummus that pairs perfectly with everything. Chicken Maison in Santa Ana is absolutely amazing! Everything was so good and incredibly fresh. The service was great, friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and the restrooms were clean , which I always appreciate. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, making it a comfortable spot whether you're dining in or with a group. I love kabobs, chicken, spicy chicken kabob and shawarma wrap with fries, and Mediterranean food overall--so this place was a must for me, and it did not disappoint. Steamed veggies galore, they are VERY GENEROUS WITH THEIR PORTIONS. So good! Bonus points for the ample parking , which makes the whole experience even better. Chicken, arguably, is a form of art for certain people. That type of canvas lies in different aspects of chicken itself; how comforting is the chicken, how does the chicken present itself to you, how the chicken is served when paired with others, how much is the chicken worth it and overall, how does it taste. If we look at the first aspect in this case, the chicken here at Chicken Maison situates itself in a big parking lot with a big atrium of a restaurant with plenty of seating and even all the utensils, drinks and sides at your disposal. Let alone a very mediterranean decor set up. ‍‍ Now there's only one place to get said chicken from right? The front counter, who graciously asked us how my day was and even asked if it was my first time. Gleefully discovering that it was my first day as such. From then, every part of the menu explained, every aspect including seasoning and what would go best with it. Keep in mind that this level of service is going with average level pricing for chicken. You won't find that at a lot of places especially given how chicken can be plainly sold time to time. Given the portions, I'd say price-wise for other items and the chicken itself, isn't disappointing. Speaking of chicken, this where I was guided to have the Lemon Garlic Spicy Whole Chicken paired with kale salad and the coleslaw they make in house. Now the chicken itself, to my surprise wasn't just mainly savory but that lemon spice taste is there. It's the first thing to welcome you upon your first bite actually. Now would I have changed my sides, a little bit! Given that one needs to balance the tanginess of the sauce so if it were to be paired with anything then hey, coleslaw and rice. Or even just vegetables and rice to balance it out. Everything considered, definitely a place to find good chicken for a good price for a good portion with good service! read more

Chicken Maison has been on my list for a while and I'm so happy I finally got to try it! Louie in the front was so kind and helpful, and graciously answered all of our questions as first-timers! We ended up each ordering 1/2 chicken per person, which comes with two sides of your choosing, and the portions are huge! We opted for the spicy lemon garlic and it did not disappoint! If you're typically a fan of lemon pepper or anything tangy/zesty, you'll definitely like it :) However it really isnt spicy at all but maybe you can ask for hot sauce or chili oil if you like a kick. Also you know this place is good when over half the customers were on lunch break in their uniforms! read more

I've been looking for a good rotisserie chicken place and found it at Chicken Maison! This is a fast causal place, where you order at the counter and get a number. You can choose from four different flavors of rotisserie chicken - I highly recommend the spicy lemon garlic (which isn't spicy). The chicken is fall-of-the-bone tender and that chicken skin was hard to resist! For $14.90, you can get a 1/4 chicken with two sides. They also include pita bread. I got green salad and hummus, and it was more food than I could eat! My husband ordered the chicken kabob ($15.50), with a huge scoop of spicy potato salad and Maison rice. Orders also come with garlic sauce. Chicken Maison reminds me of Zankou Chicken - only better! The sides and the sauces on the chicken really puts this head and shoulders over other places. The staff is very friendly and will check in with you to see if you need anything. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking in the lot. read more

Chicken Maison - My Salmon Kabob A La Carte - Mediterranean Near Me - Santa Ana, California

Chicken Maison is a chain of family owned-and-operated Mediterranean restaurants that started in Torrance. Now they have locations throughout the Southern California area. This location is in Santa Ana near South Coast Plaza with indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered at the counter and they gave us a number. We then found a table and they brought our food to us. To start, they provided complimentary pita bread to eat with hummus. We ordered the 1/2 chicken with lemon garlic spicy ($17.90) and the gyro plate ($17.90). The chicken was juicy, tender, and the sauce was flavorful. It wasn't super spicy as I thought even some of the sides were spicier. The gyro meat was good and I liked mixing it with the tzatziki sauce. For our sides we had the hummus, spicy hummus, cole slaw, and spicy potato salad. They were all good but my favorites were the spicy hummus and spicy potato salad. I preferred the spicy hummus over the regular hummus and the spicy potato salad was very refreshing. The service was friendly and the food came out fast. The portions were great and we were stuffed with a good amount of leftovers. read more

Its my first time in this location and honestly the food deserves 5 stars for many reasons...The quslity of food for what you are paying is high...Eventhough the ingredients is simple but it's tasteful...I ordered grilled chicken and also had a chance to try they gyro (only a bite)...So, qualitywise they get all my stars! Ambiance wise, it was ok just lookalike a typical busy fastfood!!! But, it was very hot inside!!! VERY HOT!!!!! We decided dine in and it was the worst mistake cuz I wasnt able to eat my food...I think the AC didn't exist at all inside...Poor employees who work here!!!!!!! I cant imagine moving in this place!!!! I hope they'll think smth about this problem because i saw people were fanning theirselves because of the heat! I appreciate that the kitchen is open and visible but its not acceptable to smell everything and endure the heat...Im not suggesting dine in, eventhough they have outdoor sitting and maybe in a better weather itll be a good decision but inside never!!! Even if the AC is working you'll smell different food abd its not pleasant either. There is also parking outside! Plenty of them and it was interesting the chik-fill-A was exact in front of this place and it was very too busy!!!! Reasonably priced!!! With tax, we pay around $40...$16.50 for chicken and veggie kabab with two sides that i chose tabouleh and steamed veggies. And, $13.50 for gyro wrap and $2 extra for fries.... Pretty fair! read more

I ordered Sole fillet plates from door dash and I was so excited since this place has high reviews but when the food arrived I was extremely shocked. As I was enjoying my food I noticed a long string like texture from my fish. I got scared but wanted to know what it was. It was a WORM!! The long worm kept coming out from the fish! I was so shocked and disgusted! I can't believe this happened. I called the manager and she kept denying my claim. She stated that it was impossible since all her fish is grilled..... like okay so the quality of your fish can't be bad because you grill them? She would not believe me that I found this worm from the fish! Then she said to come back and she can make me a new one? I didn't want more food from this place, I wanted a refund to which she said she couldn't give me since it was through DoorDash. Really upset they couldn't do much to help me and kept denying my claim.... So I told her I would just upload photos here on yelp for her to see. I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant, I hope everything is okay with my baby. I'm worried about this. Beware... there are worms in the fish plates here read more

This is the worst Greek chicken kebab I ever had. Meat is dry and tasteless. Had potato salad with too much vinegar. Never again.

Wow this place knows how to make Rotisserie Chicken just seem like the best thing to have at any point of the day! I have seen this place around for many years and have always noticed that it's been busy. Finally got to try it out and definitely see why people can't get enough of it. They serve Mediterranean style food but as their name says, the Chicken is the specialty. I tried their Half Chicken with the Maison Special seasoning and you get to choose two sides. I got the Maison Rice and Hummus since it already comes with Pita Bread. Just the flavor of the seasoning itself and how tender/soft the chicken was prepared made you want more. The rice was fluffy, soft and had great flavors. I don think I would try anything else besides the Rotisserie Chicken here even though they have other items like Gyro. A great find and highly recommended for a delicious hearty meal! read more

Chicken Maison is known for their rotisserie chicken and that's what I usually order when I'm in the restaurant. Our office recently had lunch catering from Chicken Maison. Food was very fresh and delicious. Both meats, the gyro and grilled chicken were a bit dry but tasted good. Raisin rice is always good there. It's their specialty. Grilled mixed veggies were excellent, especially the mini sweet bell peppers and mushrooms.
