Chicken has a good amount of seasoning came out super fresh and hot, seasoning is good not too spicy & not too sweet, sauce is good, not to herby which I like, it's lighter. Bread is amazing, store bought but actually buttered and toasted!! (Some restaurants just slap some wonder-bread), I usually leave the bread out but at Clyde's never!! Customer service is amazing the cashier was super sweet. Eating area is clean. Lighting is great & soothing. Not too bright which is amazing, hospital lighting is awful. Refill station (A lot of chicken spots don't have refill stations which is crazy ) Cons: The wait time was really long (15-20 mins for a 2 tender combo) even though there were 2 other customers. They forgot our drink (we had to ask for) no biggie but It would've been nice if got the whole combo at once. Fries were amazing don't get me wrong, but I wish It had some seasoning!!! The chicken was dry :/, tiniest bit of toughness on a few bites, not much crunch on the chicken, needs more breading. We were hungry and in this area. We had both seen Clyde's before and their other locations but never tried them. We decided to stop by. They had plenty of parking up front and in the back. The staff was friendly and patient with our ignorance on their menu. They have plenty of seating area and a casual vibe. We went for the original combo and the wings with original spice. The burger was good with the spice of the chicken balancing out with the other ingredients. The fries were super crisp! They were better than chick-fil-a ones. My wings were super juicy and really crunchy wings. I had the lowest spice level other than mild and they for sure had a kick! The sauce helped toning the spice down but they were good. The food took about 15 mins to come out so it is not super fast it's more like a fast casual. I was surprised that I was unable to find nutritional facts anywhere so I'll guess it's good for the soul! Overall a relatively quick and calm meal. read more

Another great location for this venerable franchise. As always, the tenders were screaming hot without being unbearable and super tender without the breading getting all soggy. The crust of the chicken was crunchy, seasoned, and delightful. The dining room was emptier compared to other locations I've been to. Maybe it was just a slow period or the area just doesn't see much foot traffic. But I still had a good sense that this would be a nice location to hang out with friends on another night. The staff was helpful as always, despite it being dead. They still managed to sound as if they cared rather than bored, which is a good sign. We stopped by Clyde's Hot Chicken to try something new. Luckily we were the only car in the drive-through as I didn't realize they prepare every order from scratch and it takes quite a while. The gal at the drive-through window was very friendly and after almost 15 minutes we finally got our food and were on our way. I ordered a Clyde's Original sandwich with Clyde's Original two-star heat level and a side of crinkle fries. The heat was a good level for me, not super hot but definitely some heat. The three star Hot As Cluck and four star 1930 heat levels are available if you really want to kick up a notch or two. The chicken itself tasted good, the bun was fresh and thick, and the dill pickles added a nice flavor contrast. The crinkle fries were very good and every fry had a great crispy texture. My girlfriend ordered the two piece chicken strips with Clyde's Original heat level, house sauce, and a side of waffle fries. She liked the strips and bread, and all of the waffle fries also had a great crispy texture. We also ordered a side of cole slaw which seemed bland to me and I didn't really taste it on my sandwich either. The food was good but the wait time takes it down a notch for me. read more

The spot was completely empty, and the team at the counter was friendly and approachable, which I appreciated. The place looked clean, but a bunch of the soda taps were out of order, which felt kind of lazy--especially on a weekend like this. That kind of oversight always reflects back on the GM or whoever's running the show. Small detail, but it sets the tone. I grabbed the order, confirmed it in the app, and as I was pulling away, someone came rushing out to flag me down--turns out I was given the wrong order. I went back in, and it turned into a whole scene. Multiple staff digging through receipts, checking, swapping, removing items--it was a hot mess, no pun intended. They stayed polite, which I respect, but it was incredibly inconvenient. While I was there, another customer was asking for a couple small sauces, probably to go with her meal. They are also the BIGGEST sized chicken strips I've ever seen. Each strip is about half the size of a chicken breast. They are also the FRESHEST chicken strips I've had. I really enjoyed these and I had HIGH expectations after the $17 price point. I'd come back if I'm craving deliciously fresh & tasty chicken strips and willing to pay this price. The service was subpar. Restaurant was big but not as clean as it should be for a grand reopening. We ordered a twelve bite combo and an eight pack. The bites didn't match what we have come to custom from Fullerton. The temperature was not as fresh as well. Since there is a location closer to home and we like that location. On top of that, they forgot our sauces, even though we saw tons of them on the counter. Parity has caught up. When I wrote my last review over a year ago, my main issue was the price point. Well, wait long enough and things will even out. Clyde's isn't any cheaper but most other places have become more expensive. And when a super basic fast food meal clocks in at over $10, Clyde's at $15 seems more reasonable. It's still a little more expensive, but the value has become better. The food quality is already higher and now the price is close to even. In this type of scenario, I'd much rather pay a little more and get something like Clyde's. So there it is- better experience because everything is more expensive right now. read more
