Tijuana Treat and hashed browns. Pretty good!
    Miss M.

They are not subtle about their Red State pride. Adorning the walls are American Flags and a large assortment of objects bearing its colours. There are also unapologetic displays of their Christian faith. The two ideas are merged in a truly tasteful crucifix bearing the Stars and stripes just above the cash register. Also of note is the "Don't Tread On Me" sign attached to the refrigerator. The only thing this place is missing is a Confederate Flag. Some might find it tacky, others might find it patriotic and devoutly Christian. The staff are incredibly welcoming, and always swinging around the tables to refill your coffee or just to check up on customers. The restaurant feels a little cramped, but it's very clean and the aforementioned decor gives the place a unique personality in Orange County. There's a lot of laughing and smiles, that overall good vibes in the dining area. The food itself is very good. The omelette I had was delicious, and the coffee was okay. The prices are fairly reasonable too. Next time I come there I'll have to try the French toast. If you're an old Lefty like me, don't dismiss this place out of hand. Yes, the restaurant looks like it came from a Conservative wet dream. I oddly find it has a certain charm. I would suggest to leave the politics at the door, and just enjoy some good company and good food.

It's been a while since my first review here, so an update is in order :) Paul's still has the cozy, homey inside dining room, but now has expanded their outside seating with more tables and chairs ~ a great option when the weather is nice! Even sitting outside, service was great. Our food came out in a timely manner and our server made sure our coffee cups were kept full. We both ordered breakfast today. My friend's omelette with egg whites was beautiful and my chicken fried steak was delicious. It's great to be able to come here knowing that the food is consistently good and service is always friendly.

Our waitress was Tina she's so sweet so nice fun to chat with she's like family our food was great as usual. I absolutely love my grits with extra cheese I only get them here I love the decoration inside all decorations made home made like. There's even a shelf for regulars to have their own coffee cups. So cool ! Thank you for yet another wonderful breakfast. We will see you soon Tina.

Very excellent service. Lots of breakfast choices and good, hot coffee. Food arrived quickly and hot (not cold). Prices are reasonable too.

Paul's Country Kitchen looks like a very local favorite in Placentia. I came here after shopping at Trader Joe's and was looking for some tasty American breakfast. I came across Paul's and decided to give this place a try. I automatically fell in love with how they made the inside and the patio, with tons of decorations that really make you feel like you are in America. The menu has a vast variety of options. I picked something off of the house favorites which was named Tijuana Treat! It has three eggs and is filled with ground beef, tomatoes, onions, sour cream, and cheese. Overall whatever they did it was good! I ate the whole thing!! So if you are looking for delicious diner style food this is the spot with friendly service.

Service was great. Packed lil restaurant on strip mall. Seemed to be a lot regulars at this place. Parking is good. They have daily specials. The coffee was light for me. They are attentive to all patrons. My order was Debbie's special 2 pancakes, 1 egg 2 bacon/sausage. I ordered a side of toast. Pancakes were decent and flavor of vanilla. However the butter they use is margarine. It doesn't melt. There was a hefty coating it just sits on top of of whatever item it is put on. Therefore that was my low rating. We ordered oatmeal as well and the fresh fruit was partial fresh they also added canned peaches.I would probably not be back not my taste but give it a shot it might be something else you like. Service is impeccable.

Never even knew this place existed until snagging a drink at the new Better Buzz near by.. Took the family hoping for an excellent breakfast, but sadly it was a let down... I will note that the service was excellent! A complete five stars to their team for the friendly, helpful, and prompt service. It was a busy Saturday morning but no family was left hanging.. Where I drop to three stars is the food. The presentation will get you, but you wont find a match with taste. The plates come out so perfectly decorated with their fine breakfast choices. Large fluffy pancakes, tasty looking bacon and sausage. Even the eggs looked satisfying, all yellow and funky. Unfortunately our table unanimously agreed the food had no flavor. Everything was so bland, couldn't even be saved with the salt/pepper, jellies, syrup, etc. I hate to break it, but the food fits the taste buds of a certain crowd, but we aren't there.. For my plate, the peaches were probably the only half decent part, but those were simply poured into a bowl from a can.. With some enhancements to the flavor, this place would have so many more people leaving satisfied. Until then, I donated $90 to an uncomfortable meal.. Heavy love to the staff though x2, the world needs more people like them.

We walked in on an early Sunday morning and were greeted and seated right away. Our server was one of the friendliest people we've encountered, bringing the concept of unreasonable hospitality to life. The food was good, and I particularly loved the variety of breakfast side options. Fresh tomatoes and sourdough toast with a scramble sounded just perfect. The place was bustling, and the bathroom decor was always fresh and interesting. I also enjoyed the dog wall. If I lived nearby, I would definitely be a regular!

Came here yet again for the country fried steak and super pleased with it!! Love that they aren't stingy w the gravy and that they let you semi customize your plate! So for me I got extra crispy hashbrowns and a pancake on the side, super delicious, super fresh, staff is super friendly ...seriously can never go wrong!

As always the service was spot on - timely and pleasant . Love the Tijuana Treat because who could ask for more than eggs, seasoned ground beef, ortega chili and cheese.

The host and the waitress were both nice and accommodating. We had avocado toast (one order each). The food was definitely fresh, and the salsa they brought over to add on top of yourself was a great addition. Without it, there wasn't much flavor at all but we wanted something lite and this was it! The portion size for the amount you pay was worth it compared to any other socal restaurant. The decor inside is exactly what you think it might be for an old Timey restaurant and gave off a certain vibe.

Small mom/pop spot with the friendliest servers. Feels very much like "grandmas kitchen". Food was good and served quickly. My only issue is that it is incredibly hot in there. They had the doors open for air flow but it did not help much as we were all sweaty by the time we left breakfast.

We stopped here for breakfast after an extra hour on the night shift due to the end of DST. Parking is ample at the store front. Decor is classic country with country music in the background. Our friendly and quick server was Garrett who met us with a smile.. We split a Sunday only omelette with avocado and bacon, substitute hashbrowns for fruit and coffee. Food arrived, hot and quickly. Very excellent service. Our meal was delicious and very reasonably priced. Also note the sparkling, clean men's room, with the decor of classic car photos. Excellent touch. Well recommended, we will return

What other better place to celebrate our friend reunion at a place called "Reunion"? ;)…read more We were looking for a good brunch place to try out and found this place near Corona. Parking: I had no problem finding parking spot as the lot is huge and shared with many other businesses. Interior: We were seated right away without any wait time as we arrived when they just opened. We were seated in a dark area of the restaurant (think bar vibe) so I was a little not sure at first. Most brunch places I went to were always filled with sunlight and bright colorful interiors. This place embraced a classic, quiet feel, something like a Steak House would have. Service: Our server's name was Susan I believe, who was nice and attentive through the whole meal, despite the crowd slowly built up and filled the restaurant. She never failed to check back on us, not just once but twice and refilled our water. She probably isn't as familiar with the brunch menu favorites but seem to know more about the Main menu. The General Manager came out and greeted us because most of their customers are regulars and it's uncommon to have first timers like us visiting. This nice hospitality made us feel very warmly welcomed and impressed. Food: I couldn't decide whether to go with the Slow braised beef on the brunch menu (braised beef benedict) or the main menu but ended up going with the Main menu to get a good portion size. It was a perfect choice because the beef is just amazing. It was cooked to a soft perfection, well seasoned, the roasted vegetable was also cooked just right and not super raw/ crunchy like other places. Then the star of the show arrived - the butter cake. As Susan suggested, this is their most popular dessert and I can see why. The butter cake comes piping hot with the ice cream on top. There's a nice sugar crunchy feel near the bottom of the cake. It's so delicious that I want to come back just to eat this cake. We had a great time overall and would love to come back.

The FOOD: 4.5/5 | Drinks: 5/5 Off the appetizers, we had the pork belly bites and dirty fries! First dish came with a long hot pepper, several mini tortillas, and 2 dipping sauces. The pork was crunchy on the outside and soft+succulent on the inside. I can see myself doubling up on this appetizer the next time I come. Dirty fries were great; it came with a generous amount of pickled onions - providing a really nice contrast to the savoriness of our meal. Our waiter graciously accommodated our request to have the egg on the side. Off the entrée/taco menu, my friend ordered the Korean tacos and I got the Ensenada (fish) tacos. But you can also order the Ensenada tacos with shrimp. These were delicious, I would have loved a little more lime crema to go with the fish - but not a big deal. I got a Watermelon Margarita. I wasn't expecting it to be HUGE, but it was the perfect amount considering how much food we as a pair ordered. My friend ordered the La Toxica table side cocktail and one additional mango cocktail. Table side cocktail was a whole show and my friend really enjoyed it. We had a great lunch at Tempo Cantina. My breakfast biscuit was decadent and delicious. Great fried egg cooked perfectly with delicious cheese and avocado and bacon. First time I've had a perfect fried egg at a restaurant. They do it right! The Cajun seasoned tots on the side were better fresh than reheated later. Not my fave. The side of candy bacon was also very nice-- balance of sweet and spicy was great. It's served slightly chilled, but was good. The peach bellini is perfectly bubbly-- not blended. Just the way I like it! Great portion of two full glasses per order. Strong champagne. Lovely and priced right for brunch. My daughter's pancakes with warm berry compote on the side were delicious. I couldn't resist eating one since the stack was so large. Shareable for sure! We truly honestly regret selecting this restaurant to host such "intimate" dinner to say the least. The "' private rooms " aren't even private ... we were sat infront of a big party which I think they were hosting a mad hatter event at the time and they kept the curtains wide open for many passing customers to pry at us and it was a very uncomfortable ( found out that the bathrooms are right next door at that ) experience . I was under the impression that the word private ment curtains will be closed private . I'm not sure if it's because the party was " too small " to even treat it as a courtesy event but omg ? Ambiance was not fit for us & There's truly no excuse for it . We even requested to have curtains closed but he just undid the rope ever so slightly still having us in full display . We had this server which I unfortunately didn't get her name all I could remember was her high slicked bun and her loud practically screaming voice . It was all our first time here so we were looking at the menu to figure out what we'd like to order but this lady kept rushing us not allowing the table to coordinate our orders for a smooth process I mean it's 10 of us. So that was just a mess to order. We all put in our orders for drinks first to allow us to look at the menu since she kept being pushy like she didn't even get 2 of our guests drink order in either ?? So we had to wait until she came back which took a very long time .... Once some drinks came back to us one of the servers SPILLED some the of the drink on one of our guests dress ! And all over the table . It's truly so embarrassing to experience this in general as a person and a customer let alone someone that is celebrating a special event. The food and drink were decent but I truthfully think the experience overshadowed the actual enjoyment of the food and drinks. Once we had our food the waitress popped in at very long sparse times to yell out if we were okay in the middle of our dinner which honestly most of us grew irritated by it because there's absolutely no need to scream at us while we are eating ....our guest honestly felt uncomfortable to order because there was already that drink mishap and just the poor service overall . There was a point where a server came in to set down the food and practically tossed it on the table& made a comment about the amount of food one of our guest had ordered ? Like are we missing proper serving etiquette at this point ? If I could have a do over I wouldn't select this place for events like that . Maybe a casual dinner but if that was the case maybe I should've just opt for chilis for better service honestly because this wasn't it . We had brought a small cake to cut and she would come in at times just to yell out " cmon now everyone it's a celebration " like please read the room. If you're like me trying to host a small dinner for a special celebration don't do it here. If the automated gratuity wasn't in place I don't even think a tip was worth it.
