A special shoutout to Sara Barajas - she went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and noticed our drinks were empty and made us another. I saw someone post about this place on Instagram and I'm so glad they did. I only like breakfast spots that have real maple syrup so when I saw they did I was there. I tried the French toast and omg it could be habit forming. We also got the machaca and the Bennies. Everything was incredible. Service was exceptional, fast, friendly, accommodating, answered all of our questions. Ambiance can be a little noisy but it's a diner, that's the way I want it to be. Lots of people smiling and laughing and enjoying real, good, fresh food. Oh yeah the coffee is bomb too. Any of the people leaving 1-star reviews are seriously mental IMO. There's a huge sign when you enter that warns customers of adjusting expectations to possible slow service. I would say this sign is accurate and helpful bc if you're in a rush/looking for a place to go in and get out, this wouldn't be the best fit. I went on a Saturday late morning and waited 20 min for a table and didn't get food until about 20-15 min after ordering. I didn't mind the wait that day but just a heads up for future customers! The food was good. Their churros french toast was very yummy. I was disappointed in our server's response when I asked some questions about nuts in their kitchen (because I wanted to bring my daughter who has a severe treenut allergy). She didn't have a good answer for me, just replied that there were a lot of nuts in the kitchen. I asked her to please let me know what specific nuts were present in the kitchen and if my daughter would be safe dining there. The server seemed dismissive and completely forgot to get back to me about it after she said she would go find out. Of course as a family with someone having a severe food allergy, we run into this all the time. It's not a new thing to feel like we are a burden or a bother. It IS disappointing when it seems the server has never been asked this question before and its even more disappointing when you're also met with a "well why are you asking me these bothersome questions" vibe. This is again, something we experience almost on the daily whenever we eat out. It's disappointing each time. It's a shame as I enjoyed my meal here. I wish more restaurants realized how much their response matters when it comes to customers coming in that live lives balancing danger in order to eat but also deserve to eat and enjoy their dining experience just like everyone else as much as possible. Someone with a life threatening food allergy SHOULD have access to at least some of the menu. Of course sometimes it cannot be helped but in general and as much as possible, if you are serving food, never mind people with preferences. Those who live with severe food allergies navigate a very difficult life and food establishments should know this comes down to inclusivity and safety and more awareness is needed (and at least the efforts to want to try) on how to serve the severely life threatened population. No one should be excluded or at the least it is what restaurants should aim for. Restaurants should be asking the severe food allergy community questions on how to keep them safe as they eat - clear allergen information on menus, trained staff on how to respond when informed that there is a food allergy present at the table, knowledgable on what is safe to eat on the menu and what are some protocols that the kitchen will follow in order to serve food safely and also offer some peace of mind - are all steps in the right direction. Everyone deserves to eat. Severe food allergy do not mean to be a bother. They want to eat and they want to stay safe. No one should ever be told, "you shouldnt eat here" because the food establishment cant be bothered to have some sort of plan on serving food safely to the severe food allergy population. read more

Highly recommend making reservations by calling the restaurant. They won't seat you until the whole party is there, so make sure everyone is on time. We visited Our Nest for the first time last weekend on a Sunday morning. It is obviously a very popular place because there were a ton of people waiting in line out front. The host said the wait would be 20-25 minutes and it was already sunny and hot and there was no shade outside so we went to the car to wait for 10-15 minutes. We came back and they said they had already called us, but the host was kind enough to still give us the next available table. We were greeted quickly and drink orders taken. The menu is interesting with lots of different choices. I had the French Toast A-Aron Stack. Delicious cinnamon goodness and nice thick slices of bread. The bacon was nice and crispy and the eggs had the most orange yolks I've ever had anywhere. The basic breakfast bowl looked like a work of art and had a lot of ingredients for a wide variety of flavor. Service was great and it's always nice to see young happy people working at places.
