One of my local fav for quick family style fast food. Good service, clean setting, good values for most items. Breakfast burrito and other breakfast plates are great. Burgers and sandwiches are ok. Chili is subpar. Fries can be hit or miss. On some days it's hot and fresh. Some days you get plate of colder fries that probably say too long before being served. read more

"Best breakfast burrito in town sign", so you know I had to try it... tried both the bacon and sausage one. For 13$ a burrito not bad value or size. Taste and quality was good, definitely a leg up from like farmer boys burritos in terms of quality and how it looked and the ingredients. Good amount of cheese and crispy hashbrowns and even distribution. Definitely a contender for best breakfast burrito locally. Phone ordering was easy for pickup and service friendly. Service: servers were friendly and helpful. We have 2 young children and they offered to bring our drinks to our table since they saw us with our hands full. The waitress came by 2 times for coffee refills. The restaurant looks clean and inviting, a nice casual spot for dining. Breakfast burrito: was tasty, the filings had even proportions , I could taste some nice crispy hashbrowns in there, which I love! individual rating 4/5 Omelette - overcooked and dry, there was a piece of sliced cheese thrown on top (Kraft single?) nothing special , just ok. Dont really write reviews much but I felt the need to write one today. Don't waste your money they are in fact not as good as they promote or maybe I just got a bad one based off the cook. I ordered a burrito specified that's what I wanted the girl rang me up for a breakfast sandwich. Once I saw that there was no 2$ discount for a burrito I asked her about it and she said that's only for the burritos ( that's what I ordered) for some reason she misunderstood, that's fine let's correct it. She corrected my order for the cook but still charged me the price for the sandwich. Which honestly I wasn't complaining about but let her know next time in the future it creates confusion seeing as I'm charged for the wrong item. She proceeded to tell me I ORDERED THE WRONG ITEM . Mind you that the order was not processed I had not paid for it when I caught the mistake. Why she didn't correct it blows my mind. Anywho she ends up yelling at me from the register telling me I I'm Wrong and blah blah I'm getting my drink so I tell her I'm done discussing it. I'm not gonna go back and forth with someone about FOOD! It is not that serious. Anywho she said something else about well you're the one blah blah. And now im writing a review. This is the type of place that I break my diet for, once a year. I was ravenous after a long work day and this restaurant was right by my dermatologist's office. I had an hour to kill before my afternoon appointment and stopped in for lunch. The menu is standard diner fare- burgers, fries, breakfast options, and a couple of salads. I ordered one of the "John's specials" offerings, a super stuffed chicken burrito with green sauce, and half and half fries and onion rings. The food was delicious, hot and fresh, and flavorful. The meat was fresh, the veggies were crisp and juicy, the avocado was perfect. The fries and onion rings were crispy, hot and thick--- my favorite. Portions are big. I was full after a few bites and took everything home. The young man behind the counter was delightful, very polite and attentive. The decor was standard vinyl booths, plain tables, unadorned ambiance, but there is a charm to that. It was spotlessly clean, the young man who took my order was making sure all the tables were spotless, when he wasn't helping patrons, he was spraying down and wiping up tables. The restrooms were spotlessly clean, too-- the air smelled of disinfectant. Parking is plentiful and the air conditioner was powerful, a must for the insanely hot north OC days. Best breakfast burrito in town? Disappointing, somebody talked me into going here for a breakfast burrito telling me it was the best breakfast burritos in La Habra. I was looking for an old school Greek hamburger stand breakfast burrito But the burnt, rubbery nasty breakfast sausage completely ruined it. I could see where it might be good but the horrible sausage chunks the soggy undercooked, hashbrowns, and the complete carelessness of the filling proportions at either end of the burrito turned it into trash. The food was fine, but I didn't expect a quick serve style dining experience, I expected a full service restaurant. We stood in line and ordered our food at the front counter. The food is then brought to your table. There are waitresses, but not enough of them and not in the traditional sense. We ordered pancakes, but they forgot to bring the butter and syrup. We tried to flag down the waitress to remind her about it, but they're too busy bringing food orders, clearing plates and filling coffee mugs. Their job is not apparently checking back on the customers. We ended up having to go up to the front counter to get them, but by that time, our pancakes and eggs were cold. read more

I have been wanting to stop here for breakfast burritos for years. Except I was never there early in the morning till today. There is no drive thru, so I parked in one of the curb side pick up parking spots and called in my order. It was done very quickly. The lady that took the order on the phone was very efficient. When she brought my burritos to the car she was very friendly. At first, I thought geez that was fast. I forgot to mention took cook the bacon very crisp! I ordered 1 bacon burrito and 1 chorizo. To my surprise, the bacon was cooked just the way I like it, Crispy . The chorizo was good, too, but I like the bacon more because it tasted better with those hashbrowns. I hadn't been to the Brea location John's Place for a few years and have recently gone several times within the last 4+ months. There are different employees now who are polite, friendly and helpful - I didn't get the girls' names but they are both very nice. :) Our orders are always correct, and the food has been great. We've had sandwiches, burgers, grilled chicken dinner plates, Greek pita sandwiches, and fries. The chocolate cake is delicious! The restaurant is always clean and it's quiet and relaxing - the radio ("The Fish" 95.9) isn't too loud so we can still enjoy our conversation but it's nice background music :D It would be nice if they closed a little later - it was 8pm and one of the male employees from the kitchen actually turned off the lights while we were still in the restaurant! read more

I thought fullerton was pretty much the only restaurant with good food and service. Well, I stopped by John's restaurant because it has a very nice curve appeal. As I went in with my wife on a weekend.I found out that the food is great along with the service and stuff. Also, the place is always clean! read more

An excellent example of a socal, texmex-American diner: rare to find one that does both genres well. Prices have gone up so no longer the 5 star bang for buck joint it once was heralded as, but nevertheless there are still some special items to be had at this diner- one of those being the breakfast burrito w protein of your choosing: when the lady asks you "everything in it?" Make sure to say yes. Also, fyi the portions are rather large, so the move is to order 2 things and split amongst 3 peeps, unless you're really hungry that is. 4 excellent stars. read more

Usually I take Lambert to get to the 57 but when I take Central I see John's Place and often wondered. Today we made the stop. I have been craving a Gyro and Wifey got a roast beef dip combo. Place is clean quiet and well kept. It's not trendy but it's good. The Gyro was hot and smothered with tzatziki sauce with fresh onion the pita bread was warm and soft thick and tasty. The roast beef dip was ok. Overall I would say good but not to the point of standing out against all of the other restaurants of this type. read more

Went there a few days ago because we were tired of all the other places. I ordered the 1/3 pound cheeseburger combo and my friend ordered the club sandwich. To say we were disappointed would be a gross understatement; when at the register giving our order, the lady looked less than thrilled to be there. When the food arrived, they forgot my ranch dressing for the fries and I had to put salt and pepper on the burger for it to have any taste at all. My friend said the same thing about her club sandwich, which had a ton of lettuce and very little meat or cheese. Was really intrigued by the sign in front saying "Voted Best Breakfast Burrito in Town" I ordered my wife Chorizo and Sausage for me. The size of the burritos was average, good soft tortillas. Our opinion was this was Not the Best in town by far. Very dry, way to much hash browns ( used as a filler ) average ingredients. Nothing Special or Great about it. I think PePes should have that sign posted in front but saying "Better than Best". Now the burgers etc I watched being made, definitely going back for a try. read more
