I went with the meat lovers version and this thing was packed. Eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, ham, melty cheese, and all wrapped tight in a warm tortilla. They don't skimp on anything. It's got that diner-style heartiness, and when you pour on the red or green salsa...Boom! everything just ties together. The homeade salsa was amazing also! Inside, it's got a classic local joint feel. Booths, tile floors, jerseys and photos on the wall, it gives off that neighborhood diner energy. The staff's cool, real chill. The guys behind the counter looked like they were having a good time while working, which always makes the whole place feel more welcoming. I'm not even from this area, just happened to be driving through and needed a good breakfast spot. Yelp pointed me here, and I'm glad it did. Total hidden gem for sure. You order at the front, and a staff member brings the food over to your table. We were about to eat inside their patio while it was a little chilly, but some indoor booths opened up for us. We both got the bacon burrito ($14). This is a large breakfast burrito with chopped bacon, two scrambled eggs, hash browns, and cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla. You can pick either red or green salsa. I liked the green salsa as it had a good balance of spice and flavor. The burrito has a lot of hash browns, which can overpower the overall flavor and other ingredients. The breakfast burrito seemed a little pricy, but the portion size made up for it. I have been here many times over some 15 years There is plenty of parking. It's close to the 57 Freeway You order at the counter and get a number and seat yourself. If you have your pup with you - the patio is dog friendly. The food is great! I have had the Cheeseburger w fries. My absolute favorite breakfast spot as of late. Steak and eggs with hash browns and pancake instead of toast. I stop by here when I need an extra boost of energy in the morning when I know I need to get a lot of things done throughout the day. Usually after this meal I don't need to eat again the rest of the day. Employees are all super nice and outgoing. Food comes out very quickly and is always consistently scrumptious. First thing is first, the customer service here is outstanding! They greet and welcome you in with a smile and care. The seating area is huge and spacious. The decor inside is very appealing. I was looking for a new breakfast spot and found Shorty's. A nice simple diner/deli feel where you order at the counter (nice variety) then choose your own seat (inside or outside). Service is friendly and fast. I was greeted warmly by Jackie who radiates helpfulness and joy to be sure your order is customized to your liking. Such a pleasure to meet happy people who love what they do. I ordered the breakfast combo with their seasonal pumpkin pancakes. The combo came with 2 eggs, 2 bacon slices, and 2 sausage links. Their hot tea was soothing and a delight with honey packets on the side. Overall a wonderful experience with a great price. I have been going to Shorty'z for years, usually for breakfast on a weekend morning when nothing at home sounds good and I'm about to go run some errands. They have a great variety of menu items with many options for both breakfast and lunch. I usually get the two eggs with bacon combo, but I have also had their french toast, pancakes, burgers, and sandwiches and everything is always tastes great and the portion sizes are good. The service is fast and friendly and it is nice to always see a lot of the same faces there when you visit. The owner is a big LA Kings and hockey fan. There are some hockey decorations on the walls and the TVs will often have a hockey game on. They are located in a pretty large shopping center, but they are the first business if you enter the center on the east side. They are in their own building (the unit next door has been vacant for ages) and there is a good amount of parking out front that is pretty much dedicated to them. There are about six booths and six tables inside as well as a nice enclosed patio outside with a good amount of seating which is great when the weather is nice. Sausage Burrito (Salsa Verde) $11.99 Zucchini $6.25 The Sausage Burrito came with either red or green salsa. I opted for the salsa verde, but probably should have requested the red salsa since pictures look like it is fresh Pico de Gallo. The breakfast burrito was more wide than long, and it was packed (with eggs, potatoes, cheese, and sausage)! I loved the sausage that was used, especially since it was cut evenly and also distributed evenly within the burrito. The only thing that I would ding the breakfast burrito, is the type of tortilla used. I found it more dry and "flaky" than "moist". The Zucchini fries were delish! Out of all the places I've tried them, I loved how they were "sliced" like a fry. They were all fried evenly and the flavors were perfect. I was able to share some with my friend/co-worker and a family member. Parking was easily accessible as Shorty'z is located in the corner of the plaza, so there are plenty of parking spaces directly in front. They also have a "rewards" program that one can sign up for. Ate at Shorty'z for the first time the other day. Tried the yelp recommended French toast combo. It was solid. Light French toast, 2 eggs and bacon. Pretty standard meal, good serving size, reasonably priced. Order at the counter and pay for your meal. Pick A table and sit down. Your food is brought to the table by the server. I would characterize the ambiance as between fast casual and diner. Noise level was fairly low considering the number of people who were there. Interestingly considering the proximity to cal state Fullerton I didn't notice a large number of students eating there. I would have expected to see more college students in the restaurant. read more

Need a good cozy place to eat? You HAVE to stop by Shorty'z! The food is always freshly made with good portion sizes! I always intend of taking a picture for review sake but it's so tasty I end up inhaling my meal haha. Definitely recommend the breakfast platter, chili dog was great and so was the hamburger! I recommend to get here early to sit inside as it does get a little packed later in the day. Parking lot is wide and has enough spaces all around. Service is fantastic and you always feel like you're being taken care of here. You're not just an another number.
