Chicken salad sandwich on squaw, great sandy!

Was craving a chicken salad sandwich for lunch on a Monday and this showed up in my search. Sandwich Hut is in a business park off Orangethorpe ave. and I forget it's there. This was my first time trying it and it was worth it. I was able to get a sandwich, chips and a drink for around $14. I got the chicken salad sandwich on squaw bread with everything on it. They didn't skimp on the chicken salad at all and the sandwich was very filling. It's a husband and wife team working there but despite the lack of employees and the long line, I was able to get my sandwich in a few minutes. Definitely recommend if you're craving a above average sandwich.

They were treating like I was a nuisance and they were annoyed with me. The sandwich itself is not too bad, but not the best. It lacks a lot of flavor. I got the Copenhagen sandwich. I do like how it comes with a bag of pickles and banana peppers. Overall, the sandwich's are ok. But, it honestly just ruins a place for me when the workers aren't friendly. It's not that hard to be nice!

Craved a sandwich and pulled in here to conquer the desire. I got the sandwich hut special on wheat and a small square brownie for a dessert.. The brownie was tiny but awesome, rich in flavor - no issue. The sandwich was a let down, considering what I paid. While everything tasted fresh, it was nothing special and I realize I paid $16 for a small sandwich that I could have made at home. I get it, I am paying for just that - a sandwich someone else made me on demand with their products. It's just a bummer how much it cost and all I got was a small ass sandwich and a bite sized brownie. Even the paper bag they gave me was mini on the scale. On the upside, very friendly service. I love a good deli sandwich. First time trying it and I will return. There's a small wait but can't complain when it's freshly made. Nice menu but I went with the artic on wheat, tuna sandwich. Did not disappoint. Love how they pack a sliced pickle and yellow pepper. Keep up the good work and see you Next week. I went in around lunch and saw there were seats to sit and orders walking out. Was craving a sandwich and decided on my way to the shop next to them instead to try this spot. They had pretty good reviews and the menu looked good. They had a "Daily foot long" deal that was Ham and Cheese on this particular day. I decided for Turkey and Roast Beef instead. (Maybe called the "Denver"?) I got it on a roll, and waited. The wait seemed a bit long especially since it wasn't during lunch hour but a little after. Eventually a lady handed me my sub and I walked out. Once I got to my car I thought there might be a mistake. Did I order half a sub? The price/receipt said no. So I pulled up the menu and saw that a roll isn't 'a foot long' but only 7 inches. So would half a sub only be about 3.5"?! The sub itself was pretty good. Just confused by the size (or lack of) and the filings themselves seemed pretty light as well. May try it once more on plain bread, not a roll. Perhaps I just got unlucky. read more

I drove by this place on the way to work the other day and decided to try it at lunch called it in and they said they had a big order it might take 20-30 min I ended up getting there in 10 it was ready to go ! Customer service was outstanding they had everything ready for me the price wasn't bad at all ! I got an egg salad sandwich w chips and a huge fountain drink for $12 ! Love this place. Every day they have a $10 lunch special, which is a huge foot long sandwhich (rotates every day: turkey one day, ham the next day, then meatball, etc). It's a massive sandwhich, fresh made, filled with meat. Also comes with a little Cole slaw and a pickle and pepper on the side. Unreal deal and way better and cheaper than subway, Jimmy John's, etc. It's also a little mom and pop shop, so it's great to show support. 5 out of 5, highly recommend read more

I liked the shop as a whole. Will go back and try other sandwiches. I got the Corleone, thought it was a bit light on the meat. Maybe I should have passed on the French roll, it made for too much bread - but more meat would have been the cure since the roll was nice and fresh. Fair prices. Will go back. read more

I don't know what the problem is with these older shop owners and I'm not even going to state anything else other than it must be a cultural thing! I walk in on the phone, I don't approach the counter, i finish my call and approach the counter, place my order , and she asked if I want everything on it. I asked what's everything, she proceeds to tell me that next time take my call outside, read the menu before walking in, and then and only then when I know what I want, place my order. What is up with the older generation that feels they can be rude to customers. I naturally walked out and told her she didn't have to be rude she said "bye bye" read more

Great local family owned sandwich spot! They're only open weekdays but great spot to grab a solid lunch for good portions at a decent price. I was craving a sandwich but not something like Jersey Miles or Subway, we were wanting something more original and fresh so my boyfriend and I came here. The lady working there was so sweet and nice, as well as the sandwiches were amazing!! Hit the spot like no other. I would definitely recommend this place. The flatbread had the best texture, and I loved the combination of creamy Labneh with pistachios. We all fell in love with their kanafeh though - made fresh in house with the perfect balance of crunchy and cheesy! We want to go back and try their sandwiches next. It can get pretty busy since it's right by the university, but they served us pretty quickly and they were so nice. They have several tables inside and it's set to be pretty cozy.

I'm not a sandwich person, so this isn't going to help anybody. I went here people my coworkers went here and they like it. They have a lot of choices in sandwiches. I like the sandwich i got, but its not like i loved it. Personally, i think if i was a sandwich person, i'd put a five, but since i don't its a 3. its a if soemone refers to want to go there, i'll go there. read more

Awesome place to eat at would recommend 10/10. Been looking for a small sandwich shop that does a lot of the deli sandwiches without all the commercialization. This is the spot to go. Owner is super awesome and accommodating as well. read more
