Cannot recommend Tony's enough! Every time I go, the service is incredible -- everyone is so friendly and helpful. No matter what food I order, I am always impressed. We have come for Sunday morning football, World Cup viewing parties & also trivia night.... they never disappoint!! I also really appreciate that even though this is their new location, it feels like it's been around for years once you walk inside, with all the eclectic decor.

The service is the star of this restaurant. Servers are very outgoing and accommodating. Ordered a French dip with fries and their smash burger and fries. Both were good. The French dip was loaded with meat. The smash burger was good too. Went on a Friday night. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating, games, and free cookies in a basket at the bar. The cookies were homemade and awesome. It's a bit pricy compared to other Deli's, but not bad. Will be back to try other menu options.

Man......! The food is sooo delicious. This is not just a sandwich shop. It's definitely an experience. The service is great. The ambiance is welcoming yet somewhat a little overwhelming, but in a good way. The cubano is a must. The chili is not too shabby either. My wife had the tuna sandwich with pickled eggs and it didn't stand a chance. She devoured it. The beverage sizes are great. And a full bar!? Cmon. What else do you want. This is a definite must, if you're in the area. I can't help but to keep coming back. I 100 percent recommend this place.

The other Tony's in Placentia. Tony's Little Italy a couple miles away has the best deep dish pizza. Tony's Bar & Deli has some of the best sandwiches ever. It's was so hard to decide on which sandwich to get, but I went with the Boulevard which is Corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing on rye. My side was macaroni salad. It also came with a deli style pickle wedge. This sandwich was amazing. My tummy was very happy. I really loved their decor, all the old things on the walls and ceiling. Service was amazing. They kept asking how things were. They gave me sandwich ideas for my next visit. I saw they have trivia night on Tuesdays. All the sandwiches other people had looked so good. I really can't wait to come back.

So let me start by saying it's a very nice deli! Awesome indoor decor and really nice patio to sit at outside. The parking is bad! I ordered the hot corned beef sandwich on rye with mustard. The corned beef was as tender as can be! My only complaint is the sandwich is very small for a "deli" its typical sandwich bread you would use at home. It comes with a small side and with tax it was 23 bucks.. they should be using larger bread. Service was quick, I ordered at register and took it to go.

Great food and service best smash burger in o.c I recommend it on Wednesday for the brisket ;-)

We went here today for lunch and wanted to come here for a while and finally got a chance. I ordered bologna and cheese sandwich. brought bad memories when I was going to school, eating bologna and cheese sandwiches for lunch. I had macaroni salad on the side, which was delicious the service was excellent and very friendly. inside or outside seating, we sat inside lots of things to look at on the walls !! the sandwich is a very large! i'll be back!!

After not coming by for a while, we stopped by twice this week. Sheepherder and the Cubano are our top two favorites! We thought about mixing the Sheepherder with something else, but we couldn't stray from the Cubano. Service was awesome! We were greeted immediately and the food came out quick. Our second visit included live music from Greg and Michael. They were great. We enjoyed their music while eating our dinner. They play every other Sunday! I can't stress how good the sandwiches. The service is always on point. Stop by if you haven't done so.

I'm happy to see that Tony's Deli opened up in Placentia! I was sad to see they left the Anaheim location because it was really close to my job. Their veggie sandwich is my absolute favorite. It's a great size and it comes with a side. I always get their macaroni salad. The service was so quick! I ordered, used the bathroom, and a few minutes after, it was ready. I love that they have seating in their patio and that they have some parking because it can be a challenge on Bradford Avenue. I always appreciate their unique decor. It's such a fun, and lively spot.

Review 21/365 Day Challenge Finally visited Tonys Deli in Old town Placentia on a Friday for lunch 1.23.26 Heard so much about this Deli on Placentia buzz that relocated from Anaheim. The deli has a pub crawl type of vibe and very welcoming..Server Paige and manager Tawnya were really nice. Didn't feel rush since it's my 1st time visiting and looking over the menu on what to order. For a mid day on a Friday, the deli restaurant was pretty busy, especially at bar. They have big screen projection to host the Super Bowl. And have a few regular tv's at the bar. Interior is a bit busy but it's the vibe Tony's deli is looking for. Like a sports bar with darts game machine to keep you entertained. Have lots of patio seatings There is limited parking on the side of the restaurant. Definitely will return.

1/2 Boulevard & potato salad

I was a fan of the Tony's in Anaheim, so I was happy to see they have reopened in Placentia! I really like this location, they have an outdoor patio and with all the windows and doors it seems much more open and airy inside than their last spot. There is a small parking lot that was filled up when we arrived, but we easily found street parking about a block away. You seat yourself here and they bring you menus. We already knew we wanted to split a Boulevard, which is hot corned beef, pastrami, swiss and Russian dressing on rye. This was always my favorite sandwich there and it is still awesome! We got potato salad as our side and they gave each of us a cup of it, along with a tasty pickle. Lunch was $33 for the sandwich and one beer, we were both walked out full from our massive halves! Service was fast and friendly, I recall the last location being pretty slow. Was happy that is not the case here. Turns out Friday is "free cookie day" and the waitress brought us two large delicious cookies on the house. They were some combo of oatmeal, chocolate chips, coconut, maybe macadamia nuts? Whatever they were, they were super tasty. We will definitely be back!

Ask the Community - Tony's Bar & Deli

Do they serve wine?

Yes. They do. Not sure of the selection. Really good beer offerings.

Is there any sort of kid's menu?

We are working on a full one page kids menu, with multiple items and fun things to do. It is still in the development stage and will be coming soon, but until then we do offer the Little Guys Sandwich which comes with their choice of meat, cheese,…

Do they feature live music like they used to?

Not to my knowledge, aside from the recent Tamale Festival.

Is there an estimate on when the opening will occur? Really looking forward to this addition to Downtown P.

Me too! Do you have a projected opening date?

First off, I came in for two pastrami sandwiches which they promptly came out to me and said they didn't have any more pastrami. The lady was nice and said she would upgrade me to a different type of pastrami that actually cost more. Well whatever this crap was it didn't taste like pastrami at all. I got one soft bread and one crispy bread and the crispy bread could've chipped a tooth on a normal mouth so thank God I've got implants. Both sandwiches were painfully boring and I wish I had something good to say. I'm not sure what was put in my wife's sandwich either when she got explosive diarrhea less than 10 minutes after eating her sandwich? The cold cuts tasted off and I wanna say that they were rotten because I've been burping it all day. Something positive? I guess the store looked nice on the inside? Anyhow, without a doubt I will not be back because if Subway can make a better sandwich than you guys you're in trouble. And subway sucks by the way. Claro's... nah More like stay "Clearo" of this place.

Today we picked up a jar of giardiniera, pepperoncini, a sourdough boule, rosemary crackers, Italian cookies, and even a cool tee shirt. It gets pretty crowded on the Saturday. Their deli section got plenty of great selection of meats & cheeses. And their bakery part also got plenty of pastries and well know Italian cookies and individual cakes. Staff are great and friendly plus knowledgeable of what they're selling. I ended up buying several items instead of one or two. Definitely a place to go for good quality Italian ingredients to cook at home. As for the Pizza place, we got 2 types of sandwiches and lasagna. The Italian sandwich was just okey, the bread was not quite a right type for it. Just chewy outside and abit blanch of the filling. The meatballs sandwich is quite delightful, good amount of sauce and big meatball and go nicely with the sandwich. The lasagna was good but abit under seasoning, abit watering and it could used more meats. Overall it was okey place for a quick bites and easy to take away. Parking can be hectic and abit out of control since folks don't know what to do since people coming in and block cars that need to go out...another word. It's a small parking lot for In&Out. It was easy when I got there at 10:30am and the parking lot was pretty much empty (since market open early then their pizza side). When leave I have to wait for 5mins in order to get the car out since there are cars waiting right infront of my car and there are car infront and behind. There is a parking lot right across and street parking too, and I think it would be much easier then park in their lot during their busy times.

I had a board retreat that was supposed to be catered by Mendocino Farms, but due to an error, our catering order was never placed. She checked whether they could accommodate a last-minute catering order and even consulted her manager. Although they didn't have the necessary catering supplies, Jordan worked with me to find another option: individual sandwich and salad orders. The team rushed to prepare everything so I could pick it up and make it back to the retreat in time. They absolutely saved the day. The food was phenomenal, as always, but the service truly earned this review. Jordan and the team didn't cause the problem, yet they went above and beyond to help solve it. It's such a cute little shop in Placentia, and I love the concept behind their "imperfect" cookies. If a cookie doesn't come out looking perfect or gets broken, they sell it for half price instead of letting it go to waste. I ended up spending around $20 and got two bags of leftover sandwich bread along with cookies. I gave the bread away to someone who ended up using it to make capirotada, a traditional Mexican dish that's especially popular around the holidays. I loved that something that might otherwise have gone to waste was able to be enjoyed in a completely different way. I took the cookies to work, and everyone enjoyed them! They were really good, and I thought the little sticker on the imperfect cookies was such a cute touch -- something along the lines of "We weren't perfect, but we still taste good." I didn't get a picture, unfortunately, but it definitely made me smile. Service was quick, and the whole experience was easy and pleasant. I love finding small local businesses that have a fun concept while also doing something to reduce food waste. Definitely a cute little spot in Placentia, and I'll be back to try more!
