Katsu Plate

Service was friendly and quick. Our group ordered the following: Katsu plate (beef) Fried mushrooms Fish bowl Katsu Udon (pork) Everything was delicious, however, the mushrooms were definitely a favorite. The pork katsu was a little on the chewy side but the curry was great! They have weekday specials that are discounted and include a drink! Monday was the katsu plate - dine in only. The restaurant is clean and could technically accommodate a large group if it's not busy. Worst case scenario, it's part of a plaza with lots of outdoor seating.

Food is so flavorful and tasty. The staff brought everything out so quickly and we're happy we ordered almost everything separate option on the menu because it was worth it. We cleared all the plates. Great for kids as well. The staff were so nice, tables were clean and music playing was great. Def will return

Came hungry, left satisfied! Got the pork Katsu plate with curry sauce, the curry itself was a bit more spicy than I was expecting but in a good way. Inside was very clean, probably about 6 tables total and was full house when we were in the middle of our meal! And some people waiting for their to go orders. Will be back to try other offerings for sure.

I've been meaning to try out Katsu Bar since it's a close option to satisfy our Katsu curry cravings. This place did not disappoint! Ordering online was easy, the pickup process was smooth and the prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. We got the Baja Chipotle Sandwich with waffle fries ($16.50) and the Katsu Curry plate ($16.50). The sandwich was massive and the waffle fries were actually seasoned. This was probably my favorite dish of the two since it was unique. The katsu plate was the perfect portion size and I loved how spicy the curry was (even for mild). We will definitely be back to try out more of their katsu dishes!

Black Garlic Ramen with Katsu

Clean and well organized dining room in the Brea location. I ordered the black garlic ramen with katsu. The tonkatsu broth was rich and very tasty with the garlic. Noodles were perfectly cooked and alkaline texture. Ramen was generously served with a whole entire medium boiled egg. Pork katsu was moist inside and crispy on the outside delicious! Service was friendly and quick.

i would consider this spot a hidden gem in brea! everything i tried with my friends was so delicious, ESPECIALLY the curry katsu plate. it's such a simple dish but it was so warm and comforting, and paired nicely with the mac salad and veggies. i usually get the katsu sando here and i love it because it's super saucy delicious paired with waffle fries! it was my first time trying yubu pockets and they were pretty good! my favorite was the bulgogi and cali roll flavors. the udon was a simple soup with katsu, but i would probably get a different flavor of it next time for more depth in the dish. all in all i love this place for a quick lunch before class. they have deals everyday for different dishes on the menu which is also super great!

I'd been wanting to try this place for a while and was excited to check it out. I had no expectations, but I hate to say I was disappointed. The service was good. The girl at the counter was very polite, took my order, and they bring your food to the table when dining in. The place is small, but there are a few tables if choosing to dine in. The music was blasting way too loud, we sat under the speakers and regretted it. Unfortunately the place got packed after we had ordered and we couldn't move to a different table. The food itself was a let down. I tried the rosemary chicken sandwich - it was average. I also ordered the 4 pack or yubu pockets, none of the ones I tried were that great. The egg salad was a bit sweet..? The bulgogi just tasted like ground beef, and the spicy tuna was just ok. Overall an ok place, but wouldn't go out of my way to come back here again.

Staff: The staff here were really nice. They were friendly, attentive, and all seemed happy. After ordering they brought our food to our table and returned a couple of times to bring us extra plates. No name tags to recognize anyone by name. Quality/Quantity: The food here is really good. The portions are fair. We got a Katsu sandwich which comes with waffle fries, katsu plate, and the egg sandwich. Value: I felt it was in line with the costs of eating out today. It was neither high nor low. Overall: This is a nice restaurant. They have a few spots to sit inside and some additional tables outside for a general seating area. I don't come to the area often but if I did I would return.

Joshua (owner) reached out after review was posted regarding the strawberry sando, was very considerate and thoughtful abt the fact that we were not able to try it. He then saved us one and offered it to us free of charge, which was so generous and thoughtful to me! Having owners be so caring and generous truly make for a one of a kind experience and definitely want to have you keep going back! Excited to try their new menu items

Dill Egg Salad Sando (dill not very strong)

Glad to see that Katsu Bar has expanded beyond their Cerritos location to this one in Brea. I really liked their Kale salad but that seems to have been lost during menu updates. I also really liked the Kimino drinks with different fruit flavors, where Yuzu is clearly the best. For today's visit I was eating in with a party of 3. There were 6-8 tables inside and some benches outside but no official seating. Food was ordered and came out within 10 minutes. The Dill Egg Salad Sando was light, not too much dill. Good portion size and also good as a leftover since it is already cold. The Yubu with Bulgogi was solid, sweet tasting beef, good portion of protein and rice and wrap. Original Katsu Sandwich with chicken is large, bigger than the bun. Came with waffle fries and those are always delicious.

Our son took us here to try the Katsu Curry Plate. The tonkatsu was cooked well and was tender. The curry had the perfect amount of heat and the cabbage with dressing was so good. The young lady who took our order was friendly very helpful since it was our first time there and the restaurant was bright, clean and welcoming.

Just randomly walk in while touring the plaza. This curry udon place is located next to Tour (Korean 85 degrees) and Panda Express and shake shack...in a plaza where parking is limited so best bet is to park in the parking plaza across the street (next to a former Buffalo Wild Wings) and it's 3 min walk from the structure Inside is very small with limited dining seats but at least the side has cushions. Menu is very simple and have daily Monday to Friday specials. Female cashier was helpful on answering questions for first timers. Order fried calamari appetizer and pork katsu curry udon. You can make it extra spicy for extra 50 cents charge. Sodas are fountain. Female cashier who help me left for the day and another one came in. Fried calamari appetizer is lightly fried and not too greasy and it comes with ranch I guess. The curry udon was the reason I chose to give this place a try. Let's be honest: I expect something more hearty but at least what you saw on the pictures is what you get. Extra spicy is not spicy if you are spicy lover. Overall, this is ok. What kills it is the second cashier (wearing Nektar Juice Bar shirt) who took over and handed the food and didn't say anything (and it ruin the experience). The cashier who help me...communicate very well when I came in and up to the end after ordering. Props to her

Food was good, service was quick and efficient. No frills quick grub. Came here for quick meal and it was a pleasant experience. Ordered one of the katsu chicken which comes with rice, a tiny bit of salad and a tiny bit of pickled daikon. The curry sauce was delicious, Japanese style. The whole place was not big but was clean. Outdoor seating available. Easy parking.

Delicious Portobello Katsu Curry Plate. The sides are incredibly small and half full.

Since having kids, our restaurant outings have become much less frequent, so it felt especially meaningful to return to a place we used to love. We had such an amazing time! We came with our two young children, and Masako, the owner, was incredibly warm and kind from the moment we arrived. She welcomed us with a level of genuine hospitality that feels increasingly rare these days. Masako and Tom both went above and beyond to make sure our family was comfortable and well taken care of. The food was excellent, and the care they showed us made the whole evening even more special. It is rare to come across such generous and kindhearted people. A highlight of the night was dessert for my daughter, who has a dairy allergy and usually cannot enjoy desserts at most restaurants. Masako thoughtfully made her a dairy-free version of the Oreo tempura, which meant so much to us. She absolutely loved it. Also, the sashimi latina sauce was so delicious that we saved the extra sauce and kept dipping our rolls in it. What used to be one of our favorite restaurants has now become our new favorite all over again. Thank you, Masako and Tom, for such a wonderful evening and for making our family feel so cared for.

This time, I tried the omurice, which is egg-wrapped, curry-flavored rice and chicken with your choice of sauce. I chose their curry, which I've always enjoyed. This also came with your choice of corn or miso soup and a salad. I also ordered a side topping of sautéed chicken as I was especially hungry that morning. The omelet wrapping the rice was nicely fluffy with a deliciously subtle blend of savory and sweet flavors. I enjoyed the diverse spices from the curry-flavored rice. With small chunks of chicken, the dish was slightly more filling. I wish there was just a little more curry portioned out. The sautéed chicken on the side was delicious and reminded me of times I enjoyed pan-fried steak dishes from Hong Kong cafes. Interestingly, the omurice came with seasoned fries and steamed carrots and green beans a slight touch of American cuisine). Overall, it was delicious combining all the flavors from the curry, rice, omelet, and sautéed chicken into one bite. Service was good. All our dishes had a nice and careful presentation. Our server also refilled my water without me asking. However, the restaurant can get loud due to the small interior. As usual, parking was in high demand, but we found a spot close to the north exit. There was a crowd of people standing near the entrance, so I thought we were in for a long wait. However, they were thankfully waiting for another restaurant nearby.

The curry itself is good too, flavorful with a nice kick. Not a super big fan of the pork katsu. Got the loin but was still kinda lean and tough to eat. Also the breading falls off really easily. Stick to the chicken, really juicy and tender despite being white meat. A nice little family vibe in a plaza filled corporate Chinese mumbo jumbo restaurants.

This place is located directly next to Bodhi coffee shop on Yorba Linda Blvd just east of Lakeview…read more Arrived here just after 12pm on a Monday. They have the Jiro ramen only on Mondays and I had no idea what that was. We ordered one regular $17 (large is $20 and gigantic) and also ordered a miso ramen. The jiro ramen noodles are totally different. They are a darker brownish colored wheat noodle and thicker than regular ones. It has a nice chewy texture. We opted for no garlic base since some reviewers said it was really strong. They give you a choice to choose fat back in the soup to make it extra rich and also a choice for more or less vegetables. The charsiu pork in this soup is also different than the miso soup. Omg it's so tender, juicy and flavorful. The fat on it is so good and the pieces are thick. Whereas the pork on the miso ramen is thinner, your usual charsiu pork slices, which is more lean but not juicy like the jiro ramen pork. I loved the texture of the thin noodles in the miso ramen as well. The soup base had a garlic taste to it and was accompanied by the bean sprouts and bamboo type vegetables. We also tried the smaller order of the chicken karaage, which was 3 pieces of larger sized pieces. Not small, like your typical karaage. There was lack of flavor so the mayo based dipping sauce helped. Service was great and the lone waitress did a great job in serving, seating, and billing the customers all by herself. Great place!
