Very nice place for chinese/korean cuisine! I got the mapo tofu, the kkanpunggi chicken, and the jjangmyun. The mapo tofu was okay, the tofu cubes are soft and easy to eat. And there are little bits of pork that is thrown in there too. The savory/saltiness is just right in this dish. Easily feeds 2 or 3 people. This dish comes with a cup of rice and you can ask for more if you need it. The kkanpunggi chicken was my favorite i think. The chicken was fried really well. The batter was crunchy on the outside, yet had a slight chewy texture to it that added a fun textural experience. The sauce that it comes with is a little sweet and very slightly spicy. The jjangmyun was good too. The few times i've tried jjangmyun at other places, the black bean sauce was more liquid-y and a little more sweeter. But this place made it more savory and the sauce was not as liquid-y. The noodles had a fun soft and slightly chewy texture to it The restaurant space is sort of small, and is a nice place to get something quick and easy to eat without much fuss. Visited Pan Holic for a quick lunch on a Friday afternoon and was seated immediately. Probably a bit more empty due to the hot weather but I was craving a clean seafood noodle soup. The shop is run by a sweet couple and had a variety of korean dishes. I ordered their Korean Udong noodle soup and it was a HUGE portion. The soup was piping hot when served and came with the yellow pickled radishes on the side. A bunch of protein ranging from mussels to squid was mixed into the soup and it was a very white peppery flavor that warmed the soul. i really liked this restaurant. i'm always looking for convenient black bean noodles, especially one with seafood. my sister recommended this place to me after a school mom friend recommended it to her, and i picked up a togo order. i felt SO bad; yelp says they close at 8.30 but their kitchen actually does last call at 8. i think i showed up at 7.55pm and they actually turned away a family of 6 who showed up at 8. i was like, incredulous faced and apologized to them, but he said "no you made it in time! if we didn't want your order, i would have told you". so i left with a huuuuge portion of noodles and some sweet and sour fried pork (korean staples). the flavor and consistency were great! and there was so much seafood in there. i was very pleased and would return again at a much more reasonable hour! read more

This place is pretty good, considering there aren't very many Asian restaurants in the North OC area. It's a Korean and Chinese fusion restaurant with a wide variety of dishes. We tried the sweet n sour pork and jjajong (black bean) noodles. The sweet n sour pork was a bit soggy, but the noodles were great. I only wish the dish had more noodles and less onions, as it became overpoweringly spicy and zesty at the end. Glad this place is here - will have to return soon to try more dishes! read more

Due to catching a cold, I needed to sweat a little bit by having a hot soup so Jjamppong (Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup) came up in my mind. Pan Holic is one of the restaurants that I wanted to try so it worked out. As soon as I walked in, the server greeted me with a big smile and told me I can sit wherever I want. She immediately brought the water, utensils, napkins, a bowl and a side dish of yellow turnip. When my order came, I was surprised with the portions because it was big, which was great. I wasn't able to finish the Tangsuyuk (Sweet and Sour Pork) so I brought the left overs home. The noodle soup wasn't spicy at all and the broth was very rich. It made my belly warm and comforting. There were so many seafoods inside such as mussels, white clams, shrimps, squid, and crab that I enjoyed it very much. There are two ways of eating Tangsuyuk (Sweet and Sour Pork) - pour the sauce over the pork or dip the pork in the sauce. There is no right and wrong - it's totally your preference. I like to dip it because you can still maintain the crispiness of the pork and it was perfect. The pork is seasoned well that you don't even need the sauce. I noticed lots of Koreans and Chineses visit this place , which is an indication to me that they do Asian food right. Best jjambbong in OC! If Ktown has Ppong as their best jjambbong then I would say Pan Holic holds the top spot in OC. Their jiajangmyun was actually pretty mediocre so if you're debating between jjambbong or jjajangmyun then definitely order the jjambbong. I've tried their Anaheim location many times so I was really glad they opened this one up not too far away from me. Everything tasted very good but the only downside is that the veggie portion was pretty small compared to the sauce and noodles. (4/5) ** Jjampong: Delicious! Various seafood and plenty of vegetables in this dish. Everything was piping hot and absolutely delicious. (5/5) **Sweet & Sour Pork: This one was a little underwhelming. The sweet and sour glaze was good but the pork was extremely chewy. However, if you heat it up and ate it right away, it wasn't too bad. I've had better. (3.5/5) Overall, service was great, portions were great, and prices were fair. The amount of utensils they provided as well as the sides were great too.
