This is my favorite place I've ever accidentally stumbled upon. I came right as it opened for dinner, 5:30 pm. They let me choose my seat. I received a menu where you can write on to order or there's a stand at the table where you can scan the QR code & order directly online. They provide you with a pitcher of water & a cup. I ordered 3 items off the menu, the Pan Fried Pork Pot Stickers, Wonton w/ Spicy Oil & Chocolate Dumplings. That first sip of the spicy oil from the Wontons had me saying "oh my gosh". Flavor 10/10. EVERY dish was sooooo good. & to my surprise the chocolate dumplings were a variety of chocolate! I tasted milk, dark & white chocolate. So so so good. While on my mission to renew my wardrobe, I spent part of the day shopping at Nordstrom Rack and J.Crew Factory. Of course, all that shopping worked up an appetite, and because I wanted to stay on budget, I stopped by Super Juicy Dumplings for lunch. What a great find! Their lunch special is an incredible value at $12.99. I enjoyed Kung Pao Chicken which comes with soup, and in addition to water, they also serve complimentary green tea, which was a nice touch. What impressed me most was how clean the restaurant is. The staff are constantly cleaning and maintaining the dining area. As someone who gets annoyed when I sit down and notice crumbs under a table, I really appreciated the attention to cleanliness. The restaurant felt fresh, tidy, and well cared for. The employees were friendly, the food was delicious, and the overall experience was excellent. Great food, great customer service, excellent cleanliness, and very reasonable prices--it's the complete package. This inexpensive place is a hidden gem! They serve cheap, traditional dishes that are much more cheaper -while still being delicious- baos, so Din Tai Fung has some competition! Additionally, they serve steaming dishes pretty fast and efficient. To add on, it is family-friendly and chill, which is why Super Juicy Dumpling is so awesome! They have traditional flavors from sweet juicy pork buns to Spicy Mabo Tofu! All in all, I highly recommend coming here for a chill and quaint experience! I've had this place on my list for a while, so I was excited to finally try it. It's located in a shopping center, which is actually super convenient on days when there's a long wait. Luckily, the day I went we were seated in under 10 minutes. The seating inside is pretty tight, not too many tables and they're pretty close together. The food did take a little while to come out, but nothing too crazy. We ordered the juicy pork dumplings (non-sweet), juicy chicken dumplings, crispy beef rolls, and the cucumber with garlic sauce. I wasn't overly impressed by anything, but overall the food was good. However, regarding the soup dumplings, the skins were very thin all around and ripped pretty easily at times when I tried to pick them up with my chopsticks, so I ended up having to race to catch everything with my spoon. Overall, a solid spot for soup dumplings and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. I'd happily come back and try a few more dishes next time. read more

We've been to this place a couple of times since I discovered their juicy pork and crab buns. They're large soup buns with thin skin filled with pork and crab meat. You're given a straw to sip the crab roe soup while it's still hot, a special treat that's hard to find elsewhere around here. This time, I brought my son. He tried these buns when he was little but doesn't remember them, so I wanted to bring back some childhood memories of the Shanghainese food we enjoyed on our visits. As expected, he loved them just as much as I did. We come here for one reason: the juicy buns are excellent. Unfortunately, the service has been a letdown sometimes. We asked three times for clean plates, and they still weren't quite clean. When the waitress set our food down, she was looking elsewhere, and the soup nearly spilled onto the table. Why haven't I tried this place until now? I've always seen Super Juicy Dumplings in this plaza and been like "we should try that one day" and that day has finally arrived! We came with our two kiddos at 11:35 and there was already another family seated (also with two kiddos lol) Food was pretty darn good. Portions are great, flavor is great and it's really nice that they have a dumpling making window like DTF! Easy parking and family friendly (we were able to park our stroller next to the booth without it being too much in the way) and there were several other families eating as well. We ordered one lunch special dish - black pepper beef with a bowl of rice (didn't try but it looks good), Shanghai fried buns (very good), crab & pork dumplings (good), spicy beef noodle soup (good - soup is not spicy and maybe too much water. The restaurant is modern with open kitchen design where they make dumplings and buns. With lots of seats. Service is better than average as they are very busy during lunch time. This place has been on my radar for a while. I used to eat dumplings with my dad when I was a kid in LA when I'd visit him for work, so when I saw this spot I knew I had to try it. I was not disappointed. If you're not used to the way they do orders here, it can be a little confusing at first. The staff is super nice, though. There is a bit of a language barrier, but it honestly doesn't get in the way, they still give great service. Now the food... the name on the front does not lie. The dumplings are crazy juicy and full of flavor. The chicken chow mein was so good I could've gone through two or three plates if I had the time. I also tried the broccoli beef since that's one of my go-tos, and they nailed it. Overall was a great experience, the restaurant was super clean and the atmosphere was casual so come here in my hoodie I did not feel underdressed. From where we were seated we could watch the cooks hand stuff and shape the dumplings as they were being ordered. So of course we got dumplings, but we also got a couple of delicious Chinese dishes as well. Of the 3 savory dumplings ( pork & shrimp, beef, and pork) our favorite was the pork. We also got the chocolate dumplings. I've never had a sweet dumpling to be able to compare it with, but I've gotta say this one was quite tasty. Since the chocolate is melted by the steaming, I'd recommend letting it cool a bit before popping it in your mouth lest you burn yourself. For the "main" dishes we ordered the pepper beef (delicious!!) and the garlic sting beans. I must admit, I've never had any veggie dish as amazing as this! While the other things we had were delicious, the string beans were beyond delicious! On a side note, I want to express my appreciation for the complimentary pot of tea for the table. This is not standard like it use to be back in the day. But, in my opinion, that pot of tea really rounds out the Chinese dining experience. read more

I've been coming here with my family and friends for a long time because we always enjoy the food and the affordable prices, especially with how expensive everything has become lately. We never expected anything beyond good food, but this visit really surprised us with the amazing service we received. We came on a Friday afternoon with a group of 13 people, and it was my first time being served by Yuki. She was absolutely wonderful -- very patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. She gave us great recommendations, helped us choose the right dishes, and made sure all of our special requests were taken care of exactly how we wanted. The corner suite was part of the Brea Union Plaza off Imperial Hwy 90. We sat at a booth that could comfortably hold the six of us. At least one person in our party had dined here previously which made her the expert at the table. The menu featured items expected for a prototypical Asian dumpling house with rice and noodle dishes along with entrees to supplement the dumplings and wontons. Our meal consisted of the following in sequential order of when they arrived from the kitchen... * House Combination Fried Noodle * Green Onion Pancake * Juicy Pork & Shrimp Dumplings * Juicy Pork & Crab Dumplings * Crispy Beef Rolls * Pan Fried Pork Pot Stickers * Pan Fried Meat Wonton I liked the first and last items the best. The noodles were lo mein with beef, chicken, shrimp, and choy sum. The meat wontons were folded into an envelope shape before being pan fried. We don't see this variety very often down south in SD unlike the pot stickers. The juicy dumplings were xiao long baos (XLBs) that were of decent quality. For Chinese New Year, we decided to give Super Juicy Dumpling another shot. We arrived around 5:15 PM and found the place relatively empty, with just two other tables occupied. By 5:25 PM, we had ordered five dishes, but after a long wait of 45 minutes, we had only received two. A large broccoli stem was found mixed in with the spinach too. (See picture) When we inquired with the waitress, she explained that they were overwhelmed with orders for Juicy Pork Dumplings. The dishes we had included orange chicken, sliced bean curd with cilantro, and their juicy pork dumplings. They serve family-style portions, so it's great to come here with a group. With the sliced bean curd dish, I think added flavor and a corn starch slurry would've made the dish much better. Their soup dumplings tasted good, but the wrapping for a few seemed weak as the contents started to fall off. Also, it would've been nice to have a higher soup temperature. Lastly, the orange chicken dish was solid, and I'd recommend. There's plenty of parking, and the restaurant was almost full when we went. This is our ultimate favorite dumpling place in the area! Their pan fried buns are always our must order when we visit. I love the texture to them and hot juicy they are. The baby choy and mushroom was very tasty with just enough salt and garlic to them. They offer complimentary hot tea as you sit down. The sesame balls were good, but their dumplings and buns are our favorites. They bring you a paper to select your order when you sit down and take it from there. We have never had something we haven't liked. This was the first time we got the wrong order as we ordered the sweet pork dumplings and got shrimp and pork instead. Since we like all their dumplings and the buns are our nonnegotiable, we were ok with the mistake. This is a family friendly restaurant with plenty of tables and an open kitchen where you can see someone doing the dumplings and buns. It's entertaining to watch them work their magic. I went to dinner there with some friends. I'm glad we had a table reservation because this place is very busy. You order as a table by marking items off of a menu card. I arrived last and wanted to order something but had questions. Getting a server to attend to us proved to be difficult. Multiple times we tried to wave someone down and they helped another table or didn't see us. When our server finally did come to our table to take our menu and our order, I finally got to ask about a tofu dish. I wanted to know it's spicy level and if it's vegetarian because there was no descriptions of the dishes in any language. My server answered my spicy level question then marked our menu and left as I started to ask the next question. I never got to find out and visually I couldn't tell if the sauce my tofu was in was mushrooms or meat. While the restaurant was busy, I didn't feel the speed at which the servers moved about was necessary. Then came the wait for our food and other items. The service was a strange mix of too fast and then slow. We needed utensils and it took three attempts to get the attention of someone. When we meet we like to chat and catch up and the location was a bit too loud and busy for our usual chat. Okay so this place was great. We wanted lunch after church and did not leave disappointed. We ordered a large variety of dishes, as my kids won't eat XLB, the beef and broccoli was hands down the best I've ever had. The walnut shrimp, was perfect,crispy, saucy, sweet. The hot and sour soup was good, kind of par for the course when it comes to that soup & the cucumbers were crunchy, garlicky, perfect starter! I have seen lots of reviews about the way you order or the friendliness of the staff. I think that just comes down to different cultures, expectations of what they'd get from a server at a Mexican restaurant or Applebees. I actually liked being able to make everything off & having a receipt dropped at my table to confirm my order. The vibes were great, family style dining is a huge plus for me and mine. I checked with my teenage daughter to see if she wanted tea. A short time later, another server with short hair came over and, without saying a word, quickly removed the teacups from our table. We were confused and found the behavior quite rude, especially since no explanation was given. If there is a policy regarding serving tea to minors because of the caffeine content, it should be communicated clearly. After all, many caffeinated beverages, such as soda, are commonly available to teenagers. The lack of communication and courtesy left us with a poor impression. Came in July with my family first time and ordered chicken dumplings and other stuff. People were very nice and friendly until we had an issue with the dumplings. One of my sisters and I ate a chicken dumplings and immediately spit it out. The chicken the meat in the dumplings was definitely spoiled. My sister ran to the restroom and I just immediately fell so sick. My mom and other sister told the managers what was going on and that we didn't want the dumplings and if they could take them off the bill and they snatched them off the table and started eating them in front of us and then having other staff try them and told us that we were wrong that they was nothing wrong with them kept telling us no no we try we try it's good that we don't know what we're talking about and slammed the check on the table with the item taken off and just stood at our table with attitude waiting for us to leave. We paid and left. To me it's pretty gross that you are eating other people's food right in front of them and then the attitude when a customer tells you something isn't right.
