Met up with friends in Yorba Linda and finally tried more dishes at Jincook. Korean food options are pretty limited around here, so this place is such a nice find. It does get busy on weekends, so expect a wait. Weekdays are definitely easier. The interior is cozy and has nice Korean details, which gives it a cute K-drama vibe. We usually order the spicy pork bone soup and curry, but this time we tried a bunch of new dishes. The Garlic SuYuk was so good -- the server showed us how to eat it with chive kimchi, spicy sauce, and garlic between the pork slices. Super flavorful but not greasy. The Brisket Tteokbokki was also a highlight. We added ramen and cheese, and they melted the cheese at the table over charcoal, which gave it a nice smoky touch. The rice cakes were chewy, the brisket portion was generous, and it even came with pan-fried dumplings. The spicy tofu soup was packed with shrimp, clams, beef, and more, and was perfect with rice. The cold noodles were surprisingly refreshing, with a light chicken broth and onion flavor -- great after all the heavier dishes. We also loved the spicy braised beef short ribs and sweet potato cheese curry katsu. The katsu is best eaten hot while the cheese is still melty. Portions are huge. We packed leftovers and had enough for another meal. Since it was Mother's Day, they even gave us rice cakes and a card, which was really sweet. Definitely coming back.

Checked out Jincook for the first time for Mother's Day dinner last week. We definitely underestimated the wait for the restaurant! There were 9 parties ahead of us and what felt like forever turned out to be about a 40 min wait. Finally got sat and I was pleasantly surprised! The interior is decorated nicely, with plenty of space between tables. For a party of 5, we ordered the LA galbi, garlic suyuk, the cold chicken noodle soup, sweet potato cheese katsu curry, and the soontofu soup. I really enjoyed the garlic suyuk--def a must here (5/5). LA galbi was perfectly marinated and cooked (not burnt at all and not too sweet!) (4/5). Cold chicken noodle soup- surprisingly & interestingly good (4/5). Sweet potato katsu curry--comes in a stone pot piping hot (3/5). Tofu soup.. disappointing. Esp when one of the reviews claimed it was better than BCD (2/5). All in all, I'd definitely go back. Hopefully the other locations are just as good!

Checked out Jincook in Yorba Linda and can see why their Buena Park location is already well known. The restaurant has a modern late-night Korean pub vibe and they stay open pretty late, making it a great spot for dinner or late night cravings. We started with the makgeolli which was light, refreshing, and paired well with all the food. One of my favorite dishes was the beef hot stone. It came loaded with thin sliced beef, kimchi, vegetables, fried egg, and cheese that they torch tableside before mixing everything together. Super flavorful, comforting, and packed with texture. The chicken bibim noodles were spicy, chewy, and refreshing for a warm day. The seafood pancake had a crispy exterior while still being packed with seafood inside. I also liked the fried kimbap served with tartare sauce -- a fun twist from the traditional version. The brisket tteokbokki was rich, creamy, and spicy with fish cakes, cabbage, ramen, and rice cakes soaking up all the sauce. The galbi jjim was tender with just the right amount of heat and tasted even better with rice. Small detail I appreciated: they give you reheating instructions for leftovers at the end of the meal. Overall, a solid spot for Korean comfort food, drinks, and sharing dishes with friends.

Sweet and spicy gangjung with banchan

It was my first time visiting Jincook in Yorba Linda, but I've been to their locations in Buena Park and Downtown Los Angeles. Although there were about four parties queued before me, I only waited about 20 minutes on a Sunday at noon. We went here to celebrate a birthday and enjoyed the large and delicious dishes. My family and I got the sweet and spicy gangjung ($13.95), bulgogi hot stone ($26.95), chicken vegetable bbim noodles ($18.95), and katsu combination with pork and chicken ($19.95). The sweet and spicy gangjung was tasty and didn't pack too much heat. Some parts of the meat were a little fatty, however. The marinade's sweetness from the bulgogi hot stone was prominent, and there was a lot of beef. I tried the chicken vegetable bbim noodles again, and they tasted excellent. Our server cut the buckwheat noodles for us and provided bowls and plates for us to share. The katsu combination with pork and chicken tasted great like last time. I still think their chicken tastes better than the pork. Service was great as the staff regularly checked in on with us if we needed anything. We got a few refills of banchan (radishes, kimchi, and cucumbers). While waiting, there was a dispenser of cucumber-flavored water. There was also a good selection of Korean pop music playing in the background. After visiting each of the Jincook locations, their food quality seems consistently good throughout them all currently.

I'd seen Jincook come up on Yelp a few times, backed by lots of glowing reviews so I decided to give it a try. Stopped by around noon on a weekend and waited about 10 minutes for a table. There were a few empty tables, but it seemed like they might have been short-staffed, as service was a bit slow to get those filled. There was a sign outside about a soft opening and asking for patience, which was a little surprising since they've been open since September 2025. We ordered the Beef Soup ($17.95), Bulgogi Pancake ($28.95), and Jin Cook Kal Guk Soo ($17.95). The pancake had a nice crispy texture, though the bulgogi flavor didn't stand out as much as I expected. The Kal Guk Soo was a highlight; I enjoyed the chewy noodles in the seafood broth. The ambiance made it feel like we were dining in Korea, which added to the experience. There were several other dishes that looked tempting, so I'd come back with a larger group to try more. Parking is shared with other businesses in the lot. It wasn't an issue, but you might have to park a bit farther out (closer to the gas station).

Came here for a late lunch and was warmly greeted immediately. The place has an energetic vibe due to friendly and accommodating staff. I ordered the spicy beef soup , which was spiced perfectly. The broth was very flavorful and came with an abundance of beef and veggies ! I scarfed down the soup that I count finish the rest of the wonderful sides . Highly recommend this restaurant.

Another week at Jincook. I think I've become a regular which is rare because I love to try new restaurants. This place is a great comfort food restaurant. I see Kathy there every time I'm there and I just love her smiling and fun attitude. It's a great vibe, lots of people just enjoying a good meal and laughing and lots of conversation.

Katsu combo - chicken and fish. Very good. Highly recommend.

We had a very good variety of dishes and Dylan our server was excellent in checking in with us and delivering our food in a timely manner. I'm so glad there is a Korean eatery at this caliber in this area. We were desperately needing some good Korean food. We will be repeat patrons!

Jincook may very well be the best Korean cuisine I've experienced this year, thus far! From the moment we arrived and took our seats until the end of our meal, we received nothing short of amazing food and of less service here, and I am convinced that they deserve their ratings! Seafood Pancake (4/5): A super crispy pancake served on a hot stone plate. It was a thick pancake, almost like a pizza shape and came sliced. It was ideally shareable for 4-6 people, although I wish it came with a more flavorful sauce, and bigger sauce dishes at that. The pancake was mild in flavor and very crispy on the edges of the pancake. Galbi Jjim - Braised Beef Rib (4.5/5): Wonderful flavor of the beef, it was perfectly tender and came with two bowls of white rice for our table! It was phenomenal! Along was stir fried veggies and the galbi was so tender. I think this is one of their specialties here. Chogye Cold Noodles (4/5): Top seller! A rich chicken ice broth provided instant cooling relief to accompany the hot stone dishes. It came with shredded chicken, egg, and cucumbers and was mixed in with all the sauces like mustard and vinegar. The staff restocked our sides at the right times and checked on our table in the very back! I felt truly appreciated as a diner and will definitely be a returning one! Love it here!

Beef Soon Dubu (mild), Bibimbap Hot Stone, Galbi

First time here and I had such a great impression! The food here was delicious and the quality of the food is way better than other chains like BCD. You are immediately greeted by an immense amount of positive energy when you walk through the front door and the decoration inside makes you feel like you've been transported. Beef Soon Dubu (mild) - This was so yummy! You can easily argue how can tofu soup be tasty, but their's does it. It's all about the ingredient quality. They don't used the dried up beef slices like in most places. The beef comes diced and tender and the tofu is super silky. My favorite is that they break the egg for you so you don't have to get your hands all dirty trying to crack an egg. Bibimbap Hot Stone - Another great classic! The presentation makes you want to eat the whole thing right away. Our server Kathy was so kind to help us mix in the sauce and was very considerate by asking us how spicy. We only mixed in half the sauce and it was still very flavorful. Galbi - This is my personal favorite along side the Soon Dubu. The meat quality is very good, not giant chunks of fat like you can get in some places. The flavor and texture are both great. Overall, this place is now my new favorite if I'm ever craving Korean food. The staff are all so friendly and attentive. They check up on you frequently to make sure you have everything you need. The food quality and portions matches the price you pay (super rare these days unfortunately). The atmosphere has great energy but is also very cozy. I can see why they have so many positive reviews, this place is not overhyped at all. Highly recommend it!

We've lived in La Palma for years and had no idea we had such a gem so close to home. We were absolutely blown away by every dish that came out today. The chogye cold noodles were the star of the food spread--perfect for this warm weather, and the broth was seriously to die for. You could taste that same depth of flavor in the tteokbokki too. Adding chadol was such a perfect touch, and the richness of the broth really made the dish stand out. And somehow, our kids completely devoured the seafood kalguksu--which says a lot. Safe to say, we'll definitely be coming back.

I can see why people rave about this place, both the service and the food are on point! We waited about 30 minutes, but it was absolutely worth it. Everything on the menu sounded and looked delicious. The banchans provided were great, and almost bottomless since the servers kept checking on us asking if we wanted more. The portions from the food were huge too. I asked for their gochujang sauce that's usually served with bibimbap, to go with my sizzling Jincook Beef Hot Stone plate, and it took the dish to the next level. So good! Everything we tried was 10/10! The traditional gangjung fried chicken , steamed dumplings, gal bi tang soup... all so tasty and full of meat and flavor. Salivating just thinking about that meal I had, can't wait to go back and try their other dishes!

    Katsu Combo (pork and fish)
    Regina L.

We finally got to try Jincook and it did not disappoint! Upon walking in, we were greeted by the friendly staff and I immediately noticed how the decor and ambiance transported me to as if I was in Korea myself. We got the Beef Rib Noodle Soup, Chicken Noodle Soup, Tteokboki, and Katsu Combo of pork and fish katsu. The soups were light, flavorful and delicious, and I especially loved the chewy noodles in the Chicken Noodle Soup. The Katsu was crispy and came in a sizable portion along with a cabbage salad and rice. The tteokboki was my favorite as I loved the chewy rice cakes and savory fish cakes all mixed in with their spicy gochujang type sauce. Our food also came with a few varieties of banchan ranging from kimchi to spicy pickled cucumbers. While I thoroughly enjoyed the food, I think what left the biggest impression on me was the super friendly and attentive service! Our waitress, Kathy, was so sweet to our kids and the staff continually checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The staff made us feel at home which made all the difference. The interior was clean and I love how it is decorated to make you feel like you stepped into a little part of Korea. Jincook is located in a strip mall so we didn't have any issues with parking.

This time, we got the chicken bulgogi with mushroom beef soon tofu soup combo ($31), bulgogi hot stone pan bibimbap ($22), and pork cutlet ($20). The server is really nice and usually prompt with requests, though she may need a friendly reminder when things get really busy. We first got a complementary scallion pancake appetizer. I thought it tasted a little bland, but the tangy sauce helped flavor it. The banchan included, among others, kimchi, broccoli, fish cake, and sweetened potato salad. I wish the side dishes arrived before our orders, though. I enjoyed the kimchi and sweetened potato salad the most. The flavor diversity made this meal enjoyable. All our main orders tasted delicious and flavorful. The mushroom beef soon tofu soup was a tad salty for my palate, but I enjoyed the hearty flavor coming from the beef. The chicken bulgogi was nicely sweet, though some of the pieces were fatty. The pork cutlet arrived as a big dish with long, thin slices. I wish the pork was more flavorful, but it tasted better after we requested katsu sauce. Overall, this is a solid Korean restaurant for big portions of food. During dinnertime at about 7 pm, it was loud as the restaurant is rather small. Next time, I'd want to bring cash next time to try their all-day special menu. For example, soon tofu soup and bibimbap would each cost $13. An order of bulgogi would cost $15. I think that's a good deal to try out.

Ambiance inside the restaurant is super chill and great for a little date or to bring the whole family and chow down. Love this place overall 11/10, hope they stick around and blow up!!!

I visited and left feeling incredibly disappointed, so I can only give it 2 stars…read more The biggest issue was the food itself. I ordered their rice pockets, but they were almost entirely filled with rice and contained only a tiny, minuscule amount of fish. The portion sizes are very small, especially when compared to the high prices and what you get at other similar places that sell these types of pockets. I also tried the spicy version, and it was waaaay too spicy, to the point where it completely overpowered everything, and I couldn't taste the fish at all. On top of that, the ordering process is a hassle. They don't take phone orders anymore, forcing you to do everything online, which is just cumbersome and inconvenient. When I went to pick up my food, the service was kind of cold. The staff basically just hand you the bag without a word, yet the payment system still expects you to leave a tip. Really? For just passing a bag over the counter? No thanks. Between the lackluster portions, over-the-top spice, inconvenient ordering, and cold service, I won't be coming back.

We decided to split both dishes, and the portions ended up being pretty large for the price. We were full and still managed to have leftovers to take home afterward. Overall, the food was filling, seasoned well, and well portioned without being overly expensive. The only downside was that our waters were never refilled during the meal, although it honestly looked like there was only one server working at the time. Despite that, the service was still quick overall, and I'd definitely come back again to try some of the other items on their menu.

A great Korean comfort food spot! Their original YDJ soup always hits the spot with warm glass…read morenoodles, perfectly shredded meat, and a nice spicy heat. Service is no frills-- the waitresses are behind the counters most of the time and will come to check on you occasionally. We tried the blood sausage, YDJ, and beef short rib sullungtang! The soups were delicious, but the steamed blood sausage was a bit too gamey for my taste.
