Jincook is truly one of my favorite Korean restaurants in OC! It's a cozy family-run spot operated by a mother and son, and you can really taste the love and care in every dish. The restaurant itself feels like stepping into a Korean drama, and the food has that comforting, homemade "mom's cooking" flavor that you just can't get from typical Korean restaurants. The Braised Beef Short Rib is an absolute must-order. The beef is incredibly tender and flavorful--it practically falls off the bone. The potatoes, pumpkin, and rice cakes soak up all the delicious sauce, and honestly, I ended up finishing every bit of the side dishes too! The Garlic Suyuk is another favorite. The boiled pork belly is tender and rich without feeling greasy, especially when paired with chives, kimchi, and Korean dipping sauce. The flavors work so well together, and somehow every bite makes you want another one. You can really tell that the food here is made with heart. If you're looking for authentic, comforting Korean food in OC that feels like a homemade meal, Jincook is definitely worth checking out. It feels like a little "home away from home."

I've always loved coming to Jincook, and it's consistently been a great experience. However, I have to give it 4 stars tonight because our food took almost half an hour to arrive, and we noticed tables that were seated after us received their food first. :( Our food did come shortly after, but there was no acknowledgment or explanation from our server about the wait. I do wish they served the sides while waiting for the entrees so we at least had something to snack on in the meantime! Our server also seemed a bit less enthusiastic than the others, which isn't typically our Jincook experience since we've always received such exceptional and friendly service here. That said, there was another female server who was absolutely on top of everything. She offered to mix our beef hot stone so we could "taste all the flavors" and even refilled our side dishes without us having to ask. Those little touches really stood out! As for the food, we ordered our usual Boo Dae Jji Gae (Military Soup), which never fails to hit the spot, and tried the Beef Hot Stone for the first time. The Beef Hot Stone a 10/10! It was rich and flavorful, with all the ingredients complementing each other so well. The beef had a slightly crispy texture that added a really nice bite. I initially missed not ordering the katsu, but honestly, this was such a good choice! The portions are very generous and filling. Despite the service hiccup tonight, I'll definitely continue coming back. I've enjoyed everything I've tried here so far, and one slower experience won't keep me away. Hopefully, our next visit will be back to the consistently exceptional service I've come to expect from Jincook!

I'm so happy to have found this place a little closer to where we live! We've been dining at their Buena Park and Yorba Linda locations, so having another option nearby is such a treat. We came for dinner on a Friday in August and were put on a waitlist for about 20 minutes. Surprisingly, they offered complimentary infused water outside while we waited in the summer heat--such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture! Once it was our turn, we were seated right away. All the servers were incredibly nice, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of. I can honestly say the service here is even better than at the other location we've visited in Buena Park. As for the food, the Garlic Suyuk was delicious as always--10/10! The Steamed Dumplings tasted just like a homemade dish, another 10/10. Highly recommend this place! Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to, and we won't regret it!

Had rave reviews of this place from my coworker but unfortunately I have to take stars off for poor service and inflexibility with accommodations. Parking is pretty easy in this plaza, shares with Smart & Final and some other food places. There has been a decent wait both times I've come. That's always a promising sign and the line moves relatively quickly. The food with meat is good quality and large portions. We got the kalbi jjim which is expensive but comes with a large portion and generous meat. My son also likes the katsu combination and usually gets fish and chicken. So why the negative stars? We found Jincook to be very inflexible about accommodating vegetarians. While we ordered all the veg items (mushroom curry, bibimbap, and mushroom japchae) we wanted to have our friends try some other Korean dishes like pajeon (Korean pancake). The servers said they could prepare a vegetarian pancake without seafood or beef but could not price adjust ($28 for each given the protein) or put the meat on the side. Despite the picture on the menu of the bulgogi topping the pancake, the servers said this was an inaccurate picture and the bulgogi had to be cooked inside the pancake only. We asked if it could be price adjusted to the cost of the chicken pancake ($22) and they said no. We also asked if they could do the chicken cold noodles without a chicken broth and they said they couldn't. Banchan is also very stingy portion wise. When we asked for refills they tended to only give 4-6 cucumbers. Overall I was disappointed by the lack of accommodation. Would drive further to Buena Park or garden grove for better food next time and more flexibility. Update to address owner's response: He did not address the price inflexibility (i.e. charging $22 for the pancake instead of $28) or the inaccuracy of the bulgogi pancake on the menu. In line with authenticity, Korean food has a multitude of vegetarian options. Jincook is just not offering many in terms of pajeon (kimchi pancakes) or spicy cold noodles that are vegetarian. He could just admit to that.

Came back to see one of our favorites at Jincook! Kevin! haha my husband and I came for a late night galbijimm and food was still good. Staff was friendly as ever! Last few groups of people since they close at 11 on a Thursday and weekends at 12. Lucky for us there wasn't a wait It's always a good time here and will be back

We came here for Father's Day and had a feast. The ambiance is cute and the service is amazing, everyone here is really nice. We got the beef short rib spicy and normal with cheese on both ~ the spicy wasn't spicy, just a slightly different flavor but delicious, pork belly was delicious but a bit fatty so could only eat so much, soon du bu, cold noodles and seafood pancake. There's no reservations and it was really popular so there's usually a wait.

If you've ever driven by one of their locations in Yorba Linda, Porter Ranch, or Glendale, you've probably noticed the same thing--there's almost always a line out the door. It's clearly a popular Korean restaurant chain, although as a Korean myself, I don't quite understand the hype. The menu is extensive with plenty of options, so there's something for almost everyone, and the portion sizes are impressively generous. The food is solid and satisfying, but I found the flavors to be fairly average rather than exceptional. It feels like a restaurant that appeals more to those who are newer to Korean cuisine than to Koreans looking for the authentic flavors they grew up with. Service has always been friendly and efficient despite the constant crowds, which is definitely a plus. Just be prepared for a wait, especially during peak meal times. If you're starving, arriving early or expecting to stand in line is probably a good idea. Overall, it's a dependable spot for large portions, good variety, and reliable service--but if you're searching for truly authentic Korean flavors, you may find it a bit overrated.

Checked out Jincook in Yorba Linda and can see why their Buena Park location is already well known. The restaurant has a modern late-night Korean pub vibe and they stay open pretty late, making it a great spot for dinner or late night cravings. We started with the makgeolli which was light, refreshing, and paired well with all the food. One of my favorite dishes was the beef hot stone. It came loaded with thin sliced beef, kimchi, vegetables, fried egg, and cheese that they torch tableside before mixing everything together. Super flavorful, comforting, and packed with texture. The chicken bibim noodles were spicy, chewy, and refreshing for a warm day. The seafood pancake had a crispy exterior while still being packed with seafood inside. I also liked the fried kimbap served with tartare sauce -- a fun twist from the traditional version. The brisket tteokbokki was rich, creamy, and spicy with fish cakes, cabbage, ramen, and rice cakes soaking up all the sauce. The galbi jjim was tender with just the right amount of heat and tasted even better with rice. Small detail I appreciated: they give you reheating instructions for leftovers at the end of the meal. Overall, a solid spot for Korean comfort food, drinks, and sharing dishes with friends.

Galbitang or beef rib soup. Yum! This one is a fave for us

Amazing Korean restaurant in Yorba Linda! I couldn't be happier with this spot opening up so close to our home! I come here ALL the time with my husband and kids and we all love it a lot. The kids like to order the galbitang usually and I will get the cold chicken soup. Those are our go-tos. However, we recently tried their curry katsu and it was SO good. Their chicken pancakes are also amazing. Btw--they have DRINKS! All the best Korean beverages I grew up with--they have them all here! I completely forgot about Sac Sac until I saw them again at this place. The inside is setup like an old traditional Korean neighborhood. I LOVE their attention to all those details. It makes me feel like I'm eating at a restaurant in Seoul whenever I go here--it's the BEST feeling. I wish other restaurants went out of their way to bring their customers that level of feeling and ambiance because it enhances the whole experience. 10/10 recommend!

We had a Beef Brisket Pho, Wagyu Beef Rice Bowl, Beef Tendon small plate, and Pork Patty Roll. The broth of the pho was good, sweet with depth. We love the beef tendon! It was so soft and tasted just like jello! The Wagyu beef rice bowl is like the Korean bibimbap, a lot of chopped veggie, a fried egg and beef. I couldn't tell if the beef is Wagyu or not, since the texture didn't stand out. The Pork Patty roll surprised me of how crunchy it was inside. The pork Patty is like the Vietnamese sweet sausage, I like it better than the regular Vietnamese spring roll. It's incredibly quaint, with just a handful of tables, which is part of its charm. I can also understand why some people mention waiting, even with a reservation. It made for such a relaxing dining experience, even if it occasionally puts the next reservation a little behind. We sampled quite a bit of the menu--the mushroom risotto, short rib, carpaccio crudo, lamb, pork belly, shrimp, lobster bisque, French onion soup, and the watermelon salad. Everything was delicious overall. My favorite was, hands down, the watermelon salad--so refreshing with incredible flavor combinations. The lobster bisque was delicious and may have even edged out the French onion soup but the flaky puff pastry on the French onion was perfect for dipping into the yummy broth. The only dish that fell a little short for me was the shrimp, which I felt could have used a bit more seasoning. The servers were wonderful, the atmosphere was cozy and intimate, and I'd absolutely recommend giving The Wild Artichoke a try. It's a special little spot and a true gem for the area.

They have good desserts though. So, overall I would not recommend going there, especially for the amount of money you spend, you can find much nicer places for dinner.

Fabulous dining experience that tickled my taste buds in the best most sophisticated way possible…read more This is thai fine cuisine and I enjoyed everything. I walked in with the idea of ordering the yellow curry which is my usual thai order but instead wanted to try something new. I ordered the crispy wontons which were a 10/10! They came with a sweet and sour sauce that is to die for. Then I ordered Pad See-Ew which my lovely waitress explained to me what the dish was and I was eager to indulge in this new experience so I went ahead and ordered it and it came out steaming hot, fresh and delicious. Overall 20\10 for ambiance, customer service, cleanliness, quick and authentic. I am so happy I walked in to this "House of Thai Cuisine" in yorba linda Lovely time well spent. I will definitely be coming back! Now I know where to go when I crave Thai food!

The modern vibe brings out a lot of seating, a bar, and even outdoor tables so the capacity is definitely there. I was instantly greeted and sat down, their hospitality is top tier and they're quick. The order went: cream cheese wontons, pad Thai, panang curry and mango sticky rice. All were very reasonably priced, and the portions were plentiful I didn't have a single grievance, and each dish put its best foot forward. Mango sticky rice put the cherry on top and it was picture perfect. I was constantly met with our server when she refilled our waters, very attentive. This is the type of business Yorba Linda needs, great authentic food, good hospitality and amazing prices.

No more ramen in Yorba Linda anymore! I'm shocked and saddened!…read moreMy family been going there since opening, today we went there for dinner and no OPEN sign was on. When I open the door, inside was dark and furniture all stacked inside. Then realized ramen picture posted was not a menu but MOVED sign. Our server wasn't very personable but also not rude or terrible. I felt a little rushed even with a small menu. Being that I had never been there before, I wasn't sure what to get so I pretty much just blurted out whatever. What we ordered: 1) Black deluxe chicken paitan with pork - the broth was so tasty, it was absolutely delicious. The pork slices were generous, however, it was DRY. 2) Pork chashu - for my kid. They loved the broth as well and also felt that the pork slices were dry. I wanted to give 4 out of 5 stars, but I am going to hand them a 3. I loved the tasty broth, but the pork was too dry. How could you mess that up as a ramen restaurant? The portions looked a little smaller than what I am used to paying for much less money. That photo of my black deluxe chicken paitan with pork is very deceiving. It looks like a lot, but it definitely wasn't. I usually can't finish my bowl of ramen in one sitting and take the other half home. I barely had any broth in there, and being that the broth was very good, I was disappointed to run out of it before I was even done with the noodles and meat. Would I return? Sure. I liked the food. It's not a place I would go out of my way to eat at, but if I was around the neighborhood and wanted ramen, I would dine there again.

They didn't bring the plate out with hoisin sauce like they sometimes do, so I recommend asking for some if you order this Mix it with some chili oil too! Noodle Steet's signature spicy noodle with beef shank is not for the faint of heart. Even as someone who enjoys spicy food, this bowl is spicy enough to make my nose run! The broth is sooo rich and delicious! My base is always go with the thick cut noodle, which is thicker than your typical noodle and has a wonderfully chewy texture. One of the highlights is watching the chef hand-cut the noodles right in front of you with a knife, adding a bit of an INFORMAL dinner-and-a-show to the experience. The service is quick and efficient...the servers stops by often to replenish your water and drops off napkins extra napkins without being asked. Love the service.
