This restaurant has been on my bucket list of places and I am so happy I got to try Jincook for the very first time today! As soon as I entered, the fresh aroma of Korean food filled the air. After putting my name down on the list, I was warmly welcomed and brought to an open table. Jisu was our server and she was so friendly and sweet! While waiting for my friend to arrive she gave me an overview of the menu and what she recommended. We ordered the Bulgogi Hot Stone and Jincook Kal Guk Soo. Both items were delicious and came in hefty portions! We ended up having leftovers at the end. The Jincook Kal Guk Soo was steaming hot with lots of noodles and juicy pork dumplings. It's perfect for a cold day or when you just want soup and noodles. Flavors are clean and does not leave you feeling super thirsty after consuming the broth! The Hot Stone Bulgogi was sizzling and smelled so good I didn't care that there was sesame. The bulgogi was tender, but a bit too sweet for my liking. Still very good though! I recommend getting this if you don't want something too heavy! Jisu was so patient and nice, always checking in to ask how everything was and provided banchan refills for us! My friend went to their Buena Park location, but when she got there, Jisu walked up to welcome her in at the table and was friendly throughout. Towards the end, she told us we were pretty while dropping off containers for us to take things togo and it made our day! Overall, food and service were truly exceptional. So much so that I had to come on here to leave this review the same day, after my first visit. There are so many delicious items to choose from on the menu, but I think it's safe to say that I don't think there is an item that will not be good. I've reviewed this place before but I'm leaving another review to recount a fairly unpleasant experience I had dining here today. Typically everything at this restaurant is perfect, which as you can see by my previous review I sing high praises about this restaurant. The service and food are typically impeccable and quite hard to top. I usually get the older Asian woman as my server and she is the sweetest lady ever and I try to make sure to tip her well everytime. However, today my server was this 6' korean guy with a combover side part (I think his name was Roy) and he was extremely disrespectful. I don't think English is his first language because as he was taking our order we didn't quite understand what he was asking us and I think it put him in a sour mood to start. I asked for an egg with my soondubu but when I received it there was no egg (typically it's extremely visible on the top or it's provided on the side, neither of which occurred in this instance). So I kindly asked him if I could get the egg when he comes back and when he came back with the rest of the food he just left so I flagged him down asking for an egg again. Instead of just getting the egg he says "The egg is in there. Do you need me to show you?" And he takes my spoon and starts stirring around my soup trying to fish around for my egg, and guess what? there's no egg. He stirs it around literally for 15 seconds until I physically grabbed the spoon and told him to stop. Not only did he not bring the egg, but he refused to comply until I took physical action which is honestly quite ridiculous. I truly love this restaurant. It's close, the ambiance makes you feel warm inside, and the food is honestly unparalleled. But I won't tolerate being openly disrespected on that manner and honestly as long as this server is working there I'll be taking a hiatus from this restaurant. I have no problem with people forgetting or making mistakes, but to be openly proven wrong, to be disrespectful, and then not even apologize is intolerable. This was the first time I've ever left a $0 tip and it was quite well deserved. It's a shame because I don't think one experience defines a restaurant, but the experience with this server was so absurd and unpleasant that I'd rather dine somewhere else than have to experience that again. read more

Came here for dinner. This place gets packed quickly so it's best to get there earlier or expect a wait. The staff is friendly and helpful with giving suggestions. The menu is extensive and portions are huge so I would suggest going with a group if you want a variety. We got lychee soju to drink. For our entrees, we picked the garlic suyuk, boneless chicken wings, and tteokbokki with cheese. We got brown sugar pancake for dessert. Lychee Soju- This was such a refreshing drink! Strong lychee flavor and a hint of bubbly. Perfect for a hot day. Garlic Suyuk- You get souse vide porkbelly that is so tender it practically melts in the mouth. The beef bone broth is light and savory. Served with homemade ground garlic sauce that packs so much flavor. Boneless Chicken Wings- These were so crispy! The meat is tender and juicy and the sauce has the perfect blend of sweet and tangy Tteokbokki with Cheese- The rice cakes are nice and chewy. Sauce is sweet with a good amount of heat to complement. I had tried Jincook in Buena Park before and had a pretty good impression of it, but it was always a little far from Irvine. When I heard they opened a location in Yorba Linda, I had to give it a try--and honestly, I think I like this location even more! There are a few reasons why: 1. The portions are HUGE! We came as a group of 3 and still ended up taking leftovers home Jincook Beef Hot Stone Rice -- We added a fried egg, and the portion was seriously huge. There was plenty of beef, too. We mixed everything together while it was still hot and split it into three bowls, and we were already getting pretty full. Definitely don't start with this dish if you're planning to order a lot! One thing to note: the rice itself is on the milder side. You can ask for oyster sauce or spicy sauce to add more flavor, since it doesn't come with sauce by default. Spicy Braised Beef Short Rib -- This dish is basically ALL meat! There are a few carrots, rice cakes, and pieces of pumpkin here and there, but if you're looking for lots of vegetables, this probably isn't the dish for you. If you love beef, though, you'll be very happy! 2. Everything we tried was delicious. Spicy Braised Beef Short Rib -- You can choose spicy or non-spicy, and you can also add cheese. If you add cheese, they'll actually come over and torch it for you at the table . I personally preferred the original flavor, so I skipped the cheese. The beef was so tender it practically fell off the bone, and the pumpkin was surprisingly delicious. The sauce was also amazing over rice! Chicken Cold Noodles -- This one looked pretty ordinary when it arrived, and I honestly couldn't imagine what it would taste like. But after one bite, I immediately gave it a thumbs up! Definitely better than it looks. 3. The atmosphere is great. The restaurant is still relatively new, and the interior is really nice. Walking in almost felt like stepping onto a movie set . 4. Convenient from Irvine. This location is much closer to Irvine than the Buena Park/Roland Heights area. It's an easy drive when you're craving Korean food! 5. Open late. If you want to avoid the crowds, going later in the evening might be a good option. They're open until 11 PM on Thursdays and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. One warning: this place can get very busy and the wait can be long, especially on weekends, so I'd recommend going on a weekday or later in the evening. Overall, I definitely prefer the Yorba Linda location and will be coming back when I'm craving the Garlic SuYuk or Spicy Braised Beef Short Rib! read more

Ive been wanting to go to the Burna park location but decided to try this location instead. I wanted to like it but unfortunately it was a 4/10 for me. Let's start w the service. Everyone was welcoming and friendly as soon as you walked in. There was a waiting list but it went fairly fast to get a table. It's Korean Thanksgiving so they gave everyone rice cake dessert at the end of the meal, that was nice. The military soup came out warm, not bubbling hot and the pot was half filled w soup. After the initial mix, the soup disappeared even moreso. Asked if they can heat it up and add more broth. Came back with more broth but they took so long that we ended up not eating it and taking it home. Tteokbokki w rose sauce was tasty but the brisket was so hard and chewy. We also ordered the hot stone pot rice w brisket and the beef on there was much better/softer. My son said it was good but I didn't think it had much flavor. Some people prefer calm music during meal time. Service was great and friendly. They wait until all the order ready before delivering the banchan. Interesting. No waiting area except on the outside, which they put an apologetic sign and water fountain. Most the food we ordered were tasty. Right on the spot. Generous portions comparable to the price point. Kalguksu is okay. Not their specialty. Pancake is nice and thick like pizza. Crispy on the outside. Prefer more cooked and moist in the inside since it's seafood. The cold noodle is very soothing. My wife and I wanted to have some Korean food for dinner on a Sunday evening so we decided to try Jincook in Yorba Linda. Parking isn't easy to find out front, but there is plenty in the big lot. Once we parked and went inside, we were greeted by numerous staff members and were able to get a table within 5 minutes. Once seated. The hostess gave us our menus and we had time to look over the options. After a few minutes a different Korean lady waited on our table and she was delightfully friendly. My wife wanted to try out the Brisket tteokbokki and the sweet potato cheese curry katsu, so we ordered both to share. She got a ramen add-on for the tteokbokki. They brought out four dishes of banchan while we waited. Our server came to the table with the tteokbokki first and gave the brisket the torch treatment to get a smoked flavor. First time I've seen that, but it did give the brisket a nice flavor. The dish came with the tteokbokki in a red savory sauce with brisket, fish cake slices, some cabbage, ramen, and what tasted like flat egg rolls. This dish was quite large and filling. The flavor and texture were excellent, but it cooled off a bit as it took a bit longer for the sweet potato cheese curry katsu to be brought out and we wanted to eat both together. Once the curry katsu came out, our server sliced the katsu into smaller bite-sized pieces before placing the stone bowl onto our table. The katsu was stuffed with sweet potato cheese and pork. A little over-fried, but it had a nice crisp and a cheesy potato flavor and texture. The curry was on the sweeter side, which we prefer, and the rice had the nice crisp that you get from hot stone bowls. The only thing that was a bit off was that we had to flag down one of the bus guys to get some water with our meal. We left quite full and satisfied. We dropped by at 5:30 for a party of 9 on Sunday expecting a long wait but it wasn't bad! We were seated promptly without our full party, surprisingly, and ordered while our guests arrived. They also let us store a fruit tart from Porto's since we were celebrating my mom's birthday! As the other Yelp reviews mentioned... The restaurant's AC/temperature is seriously suffering from the heat wave, and the server let us know that they're installing a new unit next week as of 8/29. It was 80° inside even with the current unit and a wall-mounted fan on the other side of the restaurant, and with steaming hot plates this can feel pretty unbearable. Service was so-so, it took a bit to get started since we had to ask for side dishes to be delivered and we only had one set for a table of 9 (we needed to ask for a second one twice). I'm not sure if they're understaffed in the kitchen or seriously backlogged but at least the servers are on top of delivering food. When it came to checking up on us, it picked up toward the end when we were halfway finished with our food. I think it was about 15 minutes after we were originally seated before we got our side dishes and were able to order our appetizers. I think the Buena Park location has better service but the wait was longer the last time I visited there. We got the Sweet & Spicy Gangjung, Kimbap Jeon, Bulgogi Pancake, (not pictured since we dug in before my phone ate) and Marinated Dumplings, all of which were delicious! For entrees we ordered the Rosé Tteokbokki with cheese, Garlic Su Yuk, Chogye Cold Noodles, and Braised Short Rib with cheese. Our favorites were the Braised Short Rib, cold noodles (especially in the heat!!!). Our family agreed that the braised short rib beat out Sun Nong Dan's! The Rosé tteokbokki was my personal favorite, as adding the cream & cheese helps even out the spice level quite a bit. I'm so happy to have found this place a little closer to where we live! We've been dining at their Buena Park and Yorba Linda locations, so having another option nearby is such a treat. We came for dinner on a Friday in August and were put on a waitlist for about 20 minutes. Surprisingly, they offered complimentary infused water outside while we waited in the summer heat--such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture! Once it was our turn, we were seated right away. All the servers were incredibly nice, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of. I can honestly say the service here is even better than at the other location we've visited in Buena Park. As for the food, the Garlic Suyuk was delicious as always--10/10! The Steamed Dumplings tasted just like a homemade dish, another 10/10. Highly recommend this place! However, I have to give it 4 stars tonight because our food took almost half an hour to arrive, and we noticed tables that were seated after us received their food first. :( Our food did come shortly after, but there was no acknowledgment or explanation from our server about the wait. I do wish they served the sides while waiting for the entrees so we at least had something to snack on in the meantime! Our server also seemed a bit less enthusiastic than the others, which isn't typically our Jincook experience since we've always received such exceptional and friendly service here. That said, there was another female server who was absolutely on top of everything. She offered to mix our beef hot stone so we could "taste all the flavors" and even refilled our side dishes without us having to ask. Those little touches really stood out! As for the food, we ordered our usual Boo Dae Jji Gae (Military Soup), which never fails to hit the spot, and tried the Beef Hot Stone for the first time. The Beef Hot Stone a 10/10! It was rich and flavorful, with all the ingredients complementing each other so well. The beef had a slightly crispy texture that added a really nice bite. I initially missed not ordering the katsu, but honestly, this was such a good choice! The portions are very generous and filling. Despite the service hiccup tonight, I'll definitely continue coming back. I've enjoyed everything I've tried here so far, and one slower experience won't keep me away. One of my favorite Korean restaurants! The Galbi Jim is a must-order -- tender beef, slow-cooked potatoes, and melted cheese on top, all in an addicting, slightly spicy stew. Had rave reviews of this place from my coworker but unfortunately I have to take stars off for poor service and inflexibility with accommodations. Parking is pretty easy in this plaza, shares with Smart & Final and some other food places. There has been a decent wait both times I've come. That's always a promising sign and the line moves relatively quickly. The food with meat is good quality and large portions. We got the kalbi jjim which is expensive but comes with a large portion and generous meat. My son also likes the katsu combination and usually gets fish and chicken. So why the negative stars? We found Jincook to be very inflexible about accommodating vegetarians. While we ordered all the veg items (mushroom curry, bibimbap, and mushroom japchae) we wanted to have our friends try some other Korean dishes like pajeon (Korean pancake). The servers said they could prepare a vegetarian pancake without seafood or beef but could not price adjust ($28 for each given the protein) or put the meat on the side. Despite the picture on the menu of the bulgogi topping the pancake, the servers said this was an inaccurate picture and the bulgogi had to be cooked inside the pancake only. We asked if it could be price adjusted to the cost of the chicken pancake ($22) and they said no. We also asked if they could do the chicken cold noodles without a chicken broth and they said they couldn't. Banchan is also very stingy portion wise. When we asked for refills they tended to only give 4-6 cucumbers. Overall I was disappointed by the lack of accommodation. Would drive further to Buena Park or garden grove for better food next time and more flexibility. Update to address owner's response: He did not address the price inflexibility (i.e. charging $22 for the pancake instead of $28) or the inaccuracy of the bulgogi pancake on the menu. In line with authenticity, Korean food has a multitude of vegetarian options. Jincook is just not offering many in terms of pajeon (kimchi pancakes) or spicy cold noodles that are vegetarian. I happened to be in Yorba Linda for a concert and Jin Cook happened to open recently! I understood that they were soft opening but the people were very nice. There were plenty of staff around. Love coming here when I visit my parents! It's so delicious and the service is always friendly. Be prepared for a wait but it is well worth it. I came here because they had five-star reviews, and I've been looking for a good Asian restaurant in Yorba Linda. Overall, the food was good, but I think this is a place that's probably better to eat in than order takeout. The takeout portions seemed smaller than what I saw in the online photos. The Galbi Jim was tasty, but the portion was much smaller than what I'm used to getting at my favorite place in the SGV. For Yorba Linda, I'd say the food is good, but considering the prices and portions, I would give it 4 stars. The brisket was just okay--the meat was a little chewy, so I'm not sure I would order it again. The Kalbi beef, however, was very tasty. It was on the higher end in price, but the flavor was definitely 5 stars. The cheese Katsu with curry was everyone's favorite. The garlic soy chicken was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. It would probably be a good choice for the little ones, though. I called ahead and was told they don't take reservations. They also said it would start getting busy around 4:00 PM and get even busier as the evening went on. Since it was a hot day, we decided to order takeout rather than wait the estimated 30-35 minutes. It may be a better experience dining in, especially since the food is likely best served fresh. We ordered five dishes and spent $192, which in my opinion is quite expensive for the portions. Checked out Jincook in Yorba Linda and can see why their Buena Park location is already well known. The restaurant has a modern late-night Korean pub vibe and they stay open pretty late, making it a great spot for dinner or late night cravings. We started with the makgeolli which was light, refreshing, and paired well with all the food. One of my favorite dishes was the beef hot stone. It came loaded with thin sliced beef, kimchi, vegetables, fried egg, and cheese that they torch tableside before mixing everything together. Super flavorful, comforting, and packed with texture. The chicken bibim noodles were spicy, chewy, and refreshing for a warm day. The seafood pancake had a crispy exterior while still being packed with seafood inside. I also liked the fried kimbap served with tartare sauce -- a fun twist from the traditional version. The brisket tteokbokki was rich, creamy, and spicy with fish cakes, cabbage, ramen, and rice cakes soaking up all the sauce. You also get four sides of pickled vegetables all you can eat and all four were good especially the cucumbers and Kimchee. I had the curry Katsu and it was very good. Two slabs of katsu, your choice of pork, chicken or fish. Plenty of rice and tasty curry sauce. This also came on a hot stone so the food stayed hot the whole meal. Very enjoyable night. It was my first time visiting Jincook in Yorba Linda, but I've been to their locations in Buena Park and Downtown Los Angeles. Although there were about four parties queued before me, I only waited about 20 minutes on a Sunday at noon. We went here to celebrate a birthday and enjoyed the large and delicious dishes. My family and I got the sweet and spicy gangjung ($13.95), bulgogi hot stone ($26.95), chicken vegetable bbim noodles ($18.95), and katsu combination with pork and chicken ($19.95). The sweet and spicy gangjung was tasty and didn't pack too much heat. Some parts of the meat were a little fatty, however. The marinade's sweetness from the bulgogi hot stone was prominent, and there was a lot of beef. I tried the chicken vegetable bbim noodles again, and they tasted excellent. Our server cut the buckwheat noodles for us and provided bowls and plates for us to share. The katsu combination with pork and chicken tasted great like last time. I still think their chicken tastes better than the pork. Service was great as the staff regularly checked in on with us if we needed anything. We got a few refills of banchan (radishes, kimchi, and cucumbers). While waiting, there was a dispenser of cucumber-flavored water. There was also a good selection of Korean pop music playing in the background. If you've ever driven by one of their locations in Yorba Linda, Porter Ranch, or Glendale, you've probably noticed the same thing--there's almost always a line out the door. It's clearly a popular Korean restaurant chain, although as a Korean myself, I don't quite understand the hype. The menu is extensive with plenty of options, so there's something for almost everyone, and the portion sizes are impressively generous. The food is solid and satisfying, but I found the flavors to be fairly average rather than exceptional. It feels like a restaurant that appeals more to those who are newer to Korean cuisine than to Koreans looking for the authentic flavors they grew up with. Service has always been friendly and efficient despite the constant crowds, which is definitely a plus. Just be prepared for a wait, especially during peak meal times. If you're starving, arriving early or expecting to stand in line is probably a good idea. Overall, it's a dependable spot for large portions, good variety, and reliable service--but if you're searching for truly authentic Korean flavors, you may find it a bit overrated. read more

I'd seen Jincook come up on Yelp a few times, backed by lots of glowing reviews so I decided to give it a try. Stopped by around noon on a weekend and waited about 10 minutes for a table. There were a few empty tables, but it seemed like they might have been short-staffed, as service was a bit slow to get those filled. There was a sign outside about a soft opening and asking for patience, which was a little surprising since they've been open since September 2025. We ordered the Beef Soup ($17.95), Bulgogi Pancake ($28.95), and Jin Cook Kal Guk Soo ($17.95). The pancake had a nice crispy texture, though the bulgogi flavor didn't stand out as much as I expected. The Kal Guk Soo was a highlight; I enjoyed the chewy noodles in the seafood broth. The ambiance made it feel like we were dining in Korea, which added to the experience. There were several other dishes that looked tempting, so I'd come back with a larger group to try more. Parking is shared with other businesses in the lot. It wasn't an issue, but you might have to park a bit farther out (closer to the gas station). read more

Jin Cook is such a great spot for authentic Korean comfort food in Yorba Linda! The restaurant is very clean, the interior has a nice Korean-style vibe, and the menu has a lot of variety with generous portions. My favorites were the Sweet Potato Cheese Curry Katsu and Garlic Suyuk. The katsu stayed crispy, and the combination of sweet potato, melted cheese, and rich curry worked really well together. The Garlic Suyuk was also really tender without being greasy, and it tasted amazing with the garlic sauce and side vegetables. The Beef Short Rib Soup had a rich but comforting broth, and the beef was very soft and tender. I also enjoyed the Garlic Soy Chicken, which had a nice smoky flavor, and the Chogye Cold noodle was refreshing with a light sweet-and-sour broth. Definitely save room for the Hotteok at the end! It was warm, sweet, and filled with brown sugar and nuts. Overall, Jin Cook has that comforting homemade Korean "mom's cooking" feeling. Jincook may very well be the best Korean cuisine I've experienced this year, thus far! From the moment we arrived and took our seats until the end of our meal, we received nothing short of amazing food and of less service here, and I am convinced that they deserve their ratings! Seafood Pancake (4/5): A super crispy pancake served on a hot stone plate. It was a thick pancake, almost like a pizza shape and came sliced. It was ideally shareable for 4-6 people, although I wish it came with a more flavorful sauce, and bigger sauce dishes at that. The pancake was mild in flavor and very crispy on the edges of the pancake. Galbi Jjim - Braised Beef Rib (4.5/5): Wonderful flavor of the beef, it was perfectly tender and came with two bowls of white rice for our table! It was phenomenal! Along was stir fried veggies and the galbi was so tender. I think this is one of their specialties here. Chogye Cold Noodles (4/5): Top seller! A rich chicken ice broth provided instant cooling relief to accompany the hot stone dishes. It came with shredded chicken, egg, and cucumbers and was mixed in with all the sauces like mustard and vinegar. The staff restocked our sides at the right times and checked on our table in the very back! I felt truly appreciated as a diner and will definitely be a returning one! Love it here! read more
